I never was into Ninjago until recently, and even then only the ninja figures. So with that said, I don't have any of the vehicles or plans to purchase any. And since we don't have tv, we don't watch the tv series either. But I have been buying the figures on clearance, so I don't think I'm helping the theme last any longer, but any sales might help further push them ahead. But I would imagine, if people are enjoying this spinjitsu, then they will probably continue to enjoy it with new figures and weapons. I don't see the appeal of the actual game, so I can't follow the business decision, but the theme isn't aimed at me. Hopefully they will continue with some new cool figures and weapons! And I don't care for the new conversion aspect of the new sets, but I happen to like how the Destiny's Bounty looks. Which is interesting since many others don't like it, but they like the other vehicles (whereas I am the opposite). Oh well, to each their own.

It is a very neat building. I think it would mesh quite well with the MMV and other MOCs. I have seen this before, but never thought about purchasing it. But building my own version isn't a bad idea. I do think the roof should be a different color for more realism, but who says Lego needs to be realistic.

Very informative review. I am getting more and more excited for these sets. Lots of new goodies for MOCing and collecting purposes. I like the windows the most. I like the colors overall, but I probably won't be building too many buildings with these pastel colors..except maybe for Hogsmeade Honeydukes.... My daughter will love the animals I am sure. She goes crazy for the Duplo versions. It is interesting to see that the summer wave is already planned? That is a little disappointing because too many other themes will be taking my money this year. I can't add another one! Thanks for the great review. Keep writing them and I'll keep reading them.

I used to watch MacGyver...not that there is anything wrong with that. But that is a spitting image, well done. This is a fun little set, although not super playable as far as I can tell. But you get one of the minidolls and some pieces cheaper than some other sets. We might end up picking this set up just to have it. Thanks for the review. I like words, but pictures say more than 1000 words, or so I've been told. Keep writing them and I'll keep reading/looking at them.

Holy cow, I didn't even notice the centaurs! I guess that is because they are mysterious and mythical creatures that are good at hiding from the public eye.

I'm not into city, but this looks like a neat set. The beehive is clever and useful in any theme (other than space really). I have only recently received my first dog, so this set having two is great! But sure, new dog colors or molds would be neat as well. The sports car looks fast, but will it survive the rough terrain in the forest? Only time will tell... Thanks for the great review. I can't wait to read more.

We were already planning on getting most of this line, but your review was much needed. It helps put the controversy in its place and allows us AFOLs a good read on something "girly." The pink/purples aren't too overpowering throughout this theme, but it is noticeable for sure. I welcome the new colors, and if I ever so wanted I could swap out a few things here and there to make it more "manly." The Cafe/Milkshake Shop works well with pastel colors instead of dark gritty colors. I do really like the new molds. I'm not much of a city person, but these sets are opening my eyes I suppose. My wife has been slowly agreeing with my obsession of Lego, and now she is getting the little one involved, so these sets will be in our house soon enough. The cafe being one that my wife wants to pick up. I am glad they are using traditional Lego bricks and accessories to allow the "boys" more options as well. Thanks for the great review. I can't wait to read more!

Nice little set. I also like the scarecrow for sure. The cart is well built and I like the vegetation surrounding the bridge. Keep up the good MOCs.

I think this amount of greenery is very realistic. Areas typically aren't covered with random tall grass/plants/trees, but there are patches of shrubbery. I like what you've done here. I can't wait to see the actual village itself. This is a huge undertaking for sure. But you are off to a great start. Seeing a revised train and some mountainside will be most welcome. Have fun at Brick Tricks. Can't wait for the next update.

Thanks for the warm review. I definitely like the new brown pieces for trees. We can always use more foliage. Granted, it is still sparse in this theme even though it is a "forest" theme. The overall shape of the truck is fine by me. I do think they should have an extra figure for this size of vehicle, but at the same time, I think they typically only have one figure in this size set. Keep up the good reviews. We'll keep reading them.

I like the jolly roger design and the woodwork. Nice little story you have there. Keep up the good builds.

The trees/beach is extremely impressive! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see more.

This ship is HUGE! I wonder how I haven't seen this before. Keep up the good work for sure. I can't wait for updates. It towers over all of my ships.

Thanks for the pictures! Those promos are awesome. I'd totally buy one of each of those, if available. I also want some of the other sets, but everywhere around here didn't have any yet. They had a few sets, but no prices listed. We didn't try to purchase any yet though.

Just what every village needs. Cheap, quick ways to get food so they can have more time on the slopes! Interesting build for sure. Very simple, but it works well. The only thing to add would be some signage so non-locals would know what they sold there to drum up some more business! Keep up the good builds.

I haven't been to TRU yet, nor will I until they have some major sale going on. But no other stores have any superhero sets. The Lego aisle is bare still from post Christmas sales I assume. Very odd... good thing I have been ordering from the website. Yay for VIP points.

Review: 3936 Emma's Fashion Design Studio (Friends)
TheLegoDr replied to slovakiasteph's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the review. This looks like a fun set, albeit a bit small. I may pick this up just for the figure for my daughter, but the rest of the pieces do not seem to be very worthwhile. I like the new colors and printed pieces. We will be picking a lot of these up for my daughter (who happens to be named Olivia). Keep up the great reviews. -
Thanks for the great review. I recently saw this set on clearance (it was still $50 at Target, but $30 at Wal-mart). I didn't realize it retailed for that much more. I am not too into the Ninjago vehicles, but this thing is monstrous! And you get some cool figures. I already have Zane and Jay separately and I am waiting to get Garmadon eventually. I don't care too much for the skellies. Very pic intensive review. Much needed for those folks still interested in this set, if they can find it. Keep it up!

Review: 5887 Dino Defence HQ
TheLegoDr replied to ZoomZoom's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the pic heavy review! I feel like I own the set I've seen so many details. I will more than likely pass on this set, but it is nice having some new molds and new printed figures. I like the new yellow corner wall pieces, but I don't know what I'd use them for other than this set/color scheme. Keep up the good reviews. -
When I first saw the promo page for Ninjago, I was excited. When I saw the sets and the figures, I didn't really care, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to it. I still don't care for the spinjitsu game, so hopefully others do still. I have recently purchased a few of the figures, but no actual sets. I don't care much for the vehicles, which is the main selling point for this set. I do really like the Fire Temple (which I still don't have) and I like the Destiny's Bounty set. I am really excited to see what they come up with for the Pirates vs Ninja sets though. Hopefully they will continue to make fun sets with cool looking figures. That's the only way I'll buy any.

Monster Fighters 2012
TheLegoDr replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It is certainly a two-way street then, because I don't care at all about the monster fighters and would really want just the monsters. I only have one of the CMF monsters so I am really excited for this theme. I decided to not to buy all the of the Dino sets because this theme is coming out. There are just too many themes that want my money this year, so you have to cut some things out I suppose. And I love the ghost shroud. I have a few from the early days and will be excited to get more! And I'm super excited for the glow skeleton horse. -
It certainly looks like a new mold. I've read that the horse actually can move it's legs so it looks like this at one moment, or it can stand like a "normal" horse also, so it is functional either way. If that is the case, then having multiples of it probably wouldn't be a problem. If it is only in that position, then having multiples will be useless. Hopefully TLG thought that through. Seeing the list of approximate prices and piece count, I am not surprised at all about the prices. Moria and Weathertop may have to wait at that price level, especially if people are expected to get Helm's Deep as well. And the army building set at $40 will be a steep army building set. I couldn't imagine being able to get more than one or two with the other sets being those prices. I am surprised at some of the piece counts though, just like others here. But I really don't want to spend that much on part of a castle though, so hopefully it will be bigger than the prelim picture showed. And hopefully the final pictures will blow everyone away.

The coloring does add in well with the other orcs. But it reminds me of that SNL skit with Pamela Lee where everyone had pig faces, except for her. Which I believe is a rehash of a Twilight Zone episode anyway. It fits, but it doesn't fit at the same time. She is too pretty for all of them. Poor Orc Queen! Keep up the interesting builds!

I loved castle themed sets as a kid and Kingdoms brought me back into that nostalgic love. But seeing everything discounted heavily and discontinued, I would imagine Kingdoms is done for now. I find it really odd that the second wave had about 6-7 months before it was discontinued, but I guess TLG has their marketing/business ideas that I can't fully understand. Hopefully something will be available for the other half that doesn't like expensive licensed sets.

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
TheLegoDr replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
SilvaShado I agree. I am excited for the new female and the new nobleman printing, but to have yet another queen and king is a little disappointing. I understand they would be the type of people hosting or watching this type of event, but to have another kingdoms King watching would also add something extra. There isn't a lot exclusive to just this set other than a few figures and new falcon barding. So for that price, I don't know if it is worth it. For the piece count, yes the price is great! To add the joust set-up with the King's Castle, in my opinion, wouldn't work too well since the build style is completely different. I really like how the new joust is built and I like how the King's Castle looks when all finished, but I don't think they would mesh well together, too near each other. I would expect the jousting arena to be somewhere on the castle grounds, but not actually attached to the castle itself. And I agree on a pictorial review, not video.
