  1. Ohh that does sound vaguely familiar now that you mention it-- thanks! Obviously I don't look at the box much. :) That also makes much more sense for the buttons by the door. :D I modded my set (using only the bricks that came with it) to give the roof section some height... since there's stairs going up there, why not actually make it tall enough for a minifig?
  2. I just finished building the garage build of the Family House... does anyone know what the little "furniture" build inside is supposed to be? It looks like it has a table and chair, but why is it off the ground a brick? Almost looks like a shelf, but who puts chairs on shelves?
  3. How is the reverse tile used in the main build?
  4. Supported on Cuusoo! Impressive work! I don't usually buy the *huge* LEGO sets (tower bridge, opera house), but I would get this one!
  5. Thanks for the review! Although I sometimes curse you reviewers because after I'd decided to NOT buy a set, all the details you present make me decide I WOULD like it after all!
  6. 1 Aug 2013, according to S@H. The school is 49.99 US, not too bad... I wasn't sure how much to expect and I hadn't seen a price for it.
  7. Hi Dan! I came to the museum last Friday. Lots of fun stuff to look at-- thanks!
  8. They might wonder why their heads are in one section of a divided container, their torsos in another, and their legs on the the far side of the container.
  9. If you added some tiles to the base, it might look a bit more polished. Good luck!
  10. I like that little magic shop-- I was looking into getting Majisto's workshop...
  11. About LEGO falling apart... I tend to build on the floor, sometimes on the carpet, so I usually hold whatever I'm building in my hand, which sometimes results in it crumbling. Guess I should follow LEGO's directives... :)
  12. I was going through my LEGO yesterday and picked up 7639 Camper-- and remembered it was the first set I bought that got me out of my Dark Ages. I'd already gone through the few sets I'd owned as a child and built those to display, but I went to Target especially to get a new LEGO set. I chose that one because it seemed like it would be fun to build and I liked the theme... and it was fairly inexpensive just in case I really didn't like LEGO like I thought (no worries there!). Not too long after, I bought the Creator Log Cabin. I wouldn't say the set got me out of my Dark Ages, as I know was true with others, but instead I knew I wanted LEGO-- I wasn't even sure which set I would get.
  13. Reminds me of the country houses in Slovakia, too... and the sunflowers as well. Nice work!
  14. HP Diagon Alley... it was even on my "buy this soon because it's expiring" list, but I somehow never picked it up.
  15. This would've been a dream set for me as a kid as I loved anything about school! Can't wait to pick it up... thanks for the great review, Pandora!
  16. Nope, I agree... don't know that I would have known it was a fawn without foreknowledge!
  17. There was another house that didn't have a wall between the house and garage... Apple Tree? After building the Small Cottage, i can't wait for the Family House! These creator houses are my favorite. Not sure if I'll get the tree house yet though... I already have the Friends one.
  18. I just got this set yesterday and have built the first two builds. I like it-- it's cute, a fun build and interesting details. I extended the sails on the windmill... used the extra 2x8 plates on two sides and then the 1x8 white tiles and red plates on the other side... looks much better, now. :)
  19. Wow, I like this! It looks nice in tan, and I like all the detail on the top half. I should build a church... there are quite a few in Budapest I think would fit into the modular line pretty well... and they're sandwiched between buildings like the other modulars, too!
  20. Looks nice, and I like the variety of the landscaping bits and colors. You've included everything for the perfect campsite! I'm a fan of the LEGO campers and caravans...
  21. I'm not sure what you mean about the dog and continuity... there's a very similar one in Hillside House.
  22. How exciting and fun! You really don't know who did the sorting? Looks like that took some time... almost looks like it's sorted by set. That's around the same time we were buying LEGO for my brothers, so we had some of the smaller castle and pirate sets.
  23. I like all the changes you've made! The lighter blue really helps to lighten it, and I think you could go a bit further if you added some light bley details (around the windows, perhaps?).
  24. Yes, the gazebo from the winter village post office was really hard to put together. Also, I someone always end up holding whatever it is I'm building in my hand, assuming it's small enough. I'm not good at following directions and putting all my pieces on the table. :) So, things have a tendency to crumble in my hand.
  25. Beautiful! I think I'll have to build a few "mini" hobbit holes :)
