The molds are not responsible i think. Matter density, its quality, cooling, etc can affect, but not the mold itself (exept if in fact the plastic tickness is reduced, which limit the mecanical resistance) For me this happen to slopes, 1x/12/3/4 bricks, sometime plates, dish (the top dish on my 31023 rotor is cracked), technic bricks (all kind of 1x2). Even a 4x4 plate can crack. The list can be long.

I discovered yesterday few cracks on the lower part of the minifig legs (arms and torso are clean). It's a tiny crack between the square hole and the rounded hole. But it hurt when i see the cost of Lego products. I have several parts cracked, but not at the same level. For example Ecto minifig stand is build since less than one years, and a lot of plates and tiles are wildly cracked, plus the minifig legs, a shame for a display model that I intend to keep mounted forever. In what state will it be in 10 years?. Also, models built since few days can have cracked parts, and others models built since 2 years dont have any issues. I dunno for you, but even if i love Lego', that kind of issues really ruin my passion, sometime i'm asking myself to know if I should stop buying Legos...

8110 has a L4 engine instead of a L6, and who care? This isn't a mistake, the design process require to do some compromise due to the main specifications, the Lego elements scales, their intrinsic limits, the economic aspect (parts count limit, MSRP, etc.). If you want an absolutely perfect reproduction, Lego models "are notfor you", it's not modelism. The most important thing is that the Lego model must be coherent, even if it's not 100% accurate.
