LEGO Monkie Kid 2023
Classic_Spaceman replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
No 2024 MK leaks thus far. . . Should we be worried? π¬ -
The designers have said that Red were pilots, White were explorers, Yellow were scientists, Blue were soldiers, and Black were spies; we do not really see this carry over into the sets, but there is some lore there if you want to use it.

I am very hyped for all of this - 10391 is almost certainly the Blacktron Renegade! I am curious about the Minifigs, since I could see them reusing the direct remake Blacktron torso from the GWP (still available from PAB, meaning that it is still in production long after the set went out of stock), but the head-swapping feature suggests some kind of update. On that note, I wonder if we will get classic yellow or real-world skin tones in the set; while I like the idea of letting people customise their Spacemen to reflect their own appearance, I would prefer that all available parts go to either the ship itself or a few more Minifigs. I do think that Space is the perfect in-house theme for fleshies, though, since the Minifigs have no exposed skin (meaning that they will not end up colour-restricted like the foosball βfigs). The Alien Pack and Alien Planet Habitat sets have amazing potential, provided that the aliens are actual Minifigs and not just brickbuilt; my guess for 40716 is a set of small dioramas depicting different alien landscapes. The two GWPs are absolutely going to be remakes of classic sets, and with at least two new prints plus stickers available, they could be basically anything. I am particularly curious about the new LEGO Moments subtheme of Icons - Could it be a remake theme (LEGO Legends 2.0)? If so, what is 10392? Caribbean Clipper? Black Falconβs Fortress? Guarded Inn? There is insane potential in such a line, and we seem to be getting 1-2 per year!!

Full list, plus a bit more info (from @Brick Clicker): 10391 - βLEGO Moments Spaceβ, 966 Pieces, $100, Release either October β23 or April β24 - Includes two Minifigs with alternate heads for customisation, the build is a large black spaceship, and LEGO Moments is a new subtheme of Icons (another LEGO Moments set (10392) is releasing in 2024, though its contents are unknown). 40712 - Space GWP, Release January 2024 40715 - Alien Pack, Release May 2024 - Normal set (not GWP), and could potentially be a Minifig pack. 40716 - Alien Planet Habitat, Release May 2024. - Normal (non-GWP) set 40687 - Space GWP, Release May 2024

Source?? LEGO has been working on making bricks out of recycled plastic and cutting down on single-use plastic packaging, but I cannot find anything about moving to dissolvable/biodegradable pieces. Without citing such a claim, it seems like just baseless fear-mongering.

LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Classic_Spaceman replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
We still have not gotten the Phase III Stormtrooper Clones from TFU. . . π Quite likely that this will happen, IMO; LEGO probably does not want to release a $30 set with 1-2 Shock Troopers when the Gunship will have only been out for a few months. No (as much as I would love one, along with some Clones in snow gear). @Renown said both that there is no similarity (however superficial) between the GAR vehicle and an ARC-170, and implied that the GAR builds will not be Canon (as they emphasised that the CIS builds are): -
71046 CMF series 26: Space themed!
Classic_Spaceman replied to Megbricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same; I think that making a hypothetical Spacekid a costume rather than just a short Spaceman would add variety to the Series while also allowing us to cobble together a new Spaceman colour (the only parts that we really need are the torso, helmet, and maybe airtanks (depending on the colour)). Good idea! The fin would need to be much thicker than the original one to avoid it snapping off, but another option would be to put a stud on the reverse of the ribbed chestplate piece; that way, a thin fin can be attached to the back, and the part can be recoloured/reprinted and used in themes like Ninjago and Castle. -
71046 CMF series 26: Space themed!
Classic_Spaceman replied to Megbricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh, absolutely! Also a Sea-Tron astro-diver! These should be easily doable on a CMF budget; new moulded headpiece, printed (rather than moulded) torso, and maybe a new leg piece (or creative print and flippers combo). The back fin can be done with a new part with neck bracket attachment, so that the Minifig can be customised more, and so that the head can turn (since another alternative to the original design would be to attach the fin to the headpiece). A Spacekid would be a great way of adding some variety to the Series while also giving us a new CS colour. Maybe a black or blue torso/helmet/airtanks, with mid-legs and a regular City child head print; accessories could be a rocket or flag and a Spaceman microfig statuette representing an action figure. -
Is this the first set to use SNOTed bricks as wings?

DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel like LEGO could easily do a wave of Nolan Trilogy sets in a similar way to this yearβs Keaton sets: Baneβs Tumbler (Batman (TDKR), Bane, Talia), The Batpod and GCPD Car (Batman (TDK), Gordon, Joker, Two-Face (with alternate Harvey expression)), The Bat (Batman (TDKR), Catwoman, Bane), and a large TDKR Batcave with Batmanβs Tumbler (Batman (BB), Raβs, Scarecrow, Bruce, Alfred, Lucius, Rachel, and John Blake). The reason that I focused so much on TDKR with this hypothetical wave is because it has more vehicles and a more detailed Batcave, as well as to avoid directly repeating the existing BB Tumbler set. Also, I realise that eight Minifigs is a bit high for a non-UCS set, but four of them can be made with existing parts, so it would not drive up the overall cost of production much. -

71046 CMF series 26: Space themed!
Classic_Spaceman replied to Megbricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed; βSpaceβ could still be a codename (as βTitanβ was for Dreamzzz), but it would be for an in-house theme. Furthermore, there are plenty of words that can be used as codenames that are not also the names of actual themes, so I think that this is actually an all-Space series! -

Is this just wishlisting, or was a Droid Escape remake rumoured somewhere? -
The pack appears to include two purple CS helmets.

Yes!

71046 CMF series 26: Space themed!

My guess is that the series will be all three; a new CS spaceman, some remakes, and some entirely new designs. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
These four are unconnected (though Heartlake City has been listed as a destination in some City train sets), but other themes have been linked: Brains appeared in both Power Miners and Atlantis, Solomon Blaze appeared in Galaxy Squad and Ultra Agents, one of the Dino characters (Josh Thunder) was a descendent of Johnny Thunder, a comic linked Alien Conquest to Atlantis, Pharoah's Quest, and Dino (we find out in the comic that the AC aliens build pyramids in ancient Egypt (then returned around the time Jake Rains was exploring), and provided weapons and technology to the Atlanteans). There are other connections, but these are the ones that immediately come to mind. -

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
There have been crossovers between modern themes as well, and considering that the recent City space logo is just the CS logo in silver, I can see Classic Space being a future evolution of what is currently City space. -
Ascot Steve is actually a possibility (maybe with a recoloured brown tricorne with dark orange ponytail?).
