  1. Ninjago’s originally-planned run was 2011-2013, and then was immediately continued from 2014-present; at no point did LEGO “get rid of” Ninjago, since it takes 1-2 years to design sets and the theme never had any off-years. While the original plan may have been to replace it with TNMT, LEGO obviously decided to keep Ninjago around by the time that the Turtles hit shelves. LEGO had done named, colour-coded, heroes in a story-based theme before (KKII), though. Also, while very early Ninjago had some TNMT vibes, it very quickly became more like Power Rangers (by the second season, we got vehicles and a new green team member who becomes the leader!) You can say the same thing about Castle, though, with the exception of a few Legends sets in 2002 and the second year of KKII in 2005 - And we got nothing after TFA! Disney is keeping us from getting Castle sets!! /s Go back and look at old space sets - there are plenty of jet fighters, and even a helicopter!
  2. I am curious as to what the Spacebus would look like with the middle section shortened and remodelled to look like a spaceship rather than a school bus. Maybe some trans-red lights and dishes to offset the canopy and blue accents?
  3. Supposedly revealed Sept 1, but releasing Oct 1.
  4. I had not really been following the contest, so I am only seeing these now - @Rui Miguel’s entries look absolutely amazing (congrats, BTW!)! From the designs to the Minifigs to the box art, these legitimately look like sets that LEGO would release as part of an Adventurers reboot! My only real critique (from an official set standpoint, not a design one) is that Desert Secrets should probably include Johnny Thunder and a Scorpion Tracker remake side-build, so that the set’s story can be based around a heroes vs. villains race for the map. This would have overlapped too much with your other entry, however, so I can see why you did not go that route. Otherwise, though, these would be day-one buys if they ever were produced! Yes!! I cannot wait to see what you do next!
  5. I know - I was pointing out that the trend of space-but-not-Space sets continued well into the Disney era of Star Wars, to counter the argument that Disney is somehow keeping LEGO from being able to make space sets.
  6. Inb4 Disney prohibiting Space sets. 😐 From 2019-present: Not to mention literally all of Prime Empire! I actually bought two of the White Dragon Horse Jet specifically to convert into Space Police ships (I still need to mod them, but the set is very clearly a spaceship!).
  7. I actually am fine with the GWP - The taxi looks good from what I can see, and the (presumably) reused Minifigs are a preferable alternative to a desirable exclusive (Stealth Suit Cap, anyone??). I do think that including Chitauri instead of Outriders would have been better, and maybe a reuse of Cap from the Quinjet instead of Black Panther (tying the set more into the Battle of New York); as-is, though, we get a Modular GWP with a few MCU ‘figs that is a nice bonus if we decide to place some orders while it is available, but not something that is such a must-have that we get pissed if it sells out quickly. Layout theory was a bust, unfortunately. 🫤 Clearly it is a Venomized bike ridden by Venom on Venom Street (Venomized version)!
  8. I thought that the Galaxy Explorer had disproven all of this - We got a proper Space spaceship with an amazing design, two alternate models to fill out our CS fleets, and an excellent price/PPP ratio. Nothing feels begrudging (quite the opposite, actually!), and I am still not sure how Disney would factor in at all given the number of sci-fi sets that we get each year in themes like Ninjago, Monkie Kid, and Nexo Knights. I actually see this as a positive. Our last true Space theme was Galaxy Squad in 2013, so there was obviously a time (~2013-2023) when space sets were not testing well with children; Space making a gradual return via City tells me that kids now do like space content, which increases our chances of getting an actual, true, Space theme in the future (probably something story-based that is planned for at least three years).
  9. Considering that we have not gotten a Creator 3-in-1 Black Knights’ Castle with reused pieces from the Black Panther bust, I doubt that the foosball heads are being reused either.
  10. According to mtdbricks on IG: 10792 - Spidey and His Amazing Friends / 4+ / 58 pieces / $10 / Release March 1st, 2024 / Set includes Francine Frye Electro
  11. And Mech.Max appears in the custom Car Garage. I doubt that it is a full reboot, since Duke DeTain appears in the first video and Freya McCloud is in the second (briefly, at the skate park).
  12. What else could it be? @Renown said that the CIS build first appeared in RotS. Or just an NR battle pack, since we already have all of the other characters. Also a larger Phantom II; the one included in the Ghost is able to dock, but it looks too chibi to display on its own. Maybe we could get Sabine’s speeder as a side-build?
  13. I am not sure if it is a new series, since Mech.Max has appeared in previous “No Limits” City videos; also, it appears to be canon to LEGO City Adventures, since Duke DeTain makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the ad (in the helicopter).
  14. He also says that the build is either an Octuptarra or an ARC-170 - It is clear that he is just cobbling together all of the various rumours and speculation regarding the set. Move along. Move along.
  15. Cat suit has a plain black version of DC CMF Cheetah’s headgear and Black Cat/Punisher’s black-white dual moulded legs; tree guy has the Mountain Police tree disguise piece (maybe?) in medium nougat, which has already appeared in a Friends set. I wonder if LEGO plans to reuse the cat hat for Catwoman; the part would work perfectly for the Arkham City version of her costume, for instance (with goggles printed on). 🤔
  16. Our first look at a couple of 2024 Minifigs? Two of the four main characters in this commercial have already appeared, and the other two look realistic. 🤔 Oddly, though, the 2017 coast guard helicopter features in the opening, but all other sets are current.
  17. Aside from a cheaper version of the Sanctum (like the one that we originally got for the movie), a Hong Kong battle set could work and have some really cool time-reversal play features.
  18. Everything except magazines with Star Wars army-builder ‘figs in them! 😠
  19. I doubt that the village would take the place of three existing sets. The Galaxy Explorer is EOL this year, and probably getting replaced by the Moments spaceship; I can see the Lion Knights’ Castle retiring next year and being replaced by the village (since the surveyed price range is $190-$310). As far as real information goes, @Falconfan1414 said on Instagram that set 10332 “Vault” is very likely the village.
  20. Yes - I got three from a local Walmart.
  21. We are also getting the Gotham D2C, so that leaves us realistically with 1-2 slots for regular sets (4+, D2C, Buildable Figure, Object, ____ ).
  22. Licensed is confirmed, but NASA is not yet. I did ask @Brick Clicker about it on Discord.
