LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There might be a City Space Minifig, but there is no way that an entire Series would be dedicated to something that can (and will!) appear in regular City sets. Unlikely; LEGO uses codenames that are unrelated to the theme that they represent, so if “Space” is a codename, I do not expect it to be for a sci-fi theme. -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion

I thought that it was Mario (or was that “Leaf”?). I could see Animal Crossing translating into LEGO, particularly if the characters are depicted using normal Minifigs with moulded VIDIYO-style heads (speaking of, I think that there was a VIDIYO-Animal Crossing crossover a few years ago - Could this be the return of VIDIYO in some form?). -
71046 CMF series 26: Space themed!
Classic_Spaceman replied to Megbricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If “Space” is a codename (which I doubt that it is, since @Brick Clicker said that we are getting a Space-themed CMF), it means that whatever it actually is will be entirely unrelated to space as a concept (as LEGO uses unrelated codenames for themes). RIP our chances of a CMF series for Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Futurama, or any other sci-fi properties. -

Thank you! 👍 Can you comment on the Droid breakdown, and whether the non-Canon builds look decent? @Renown: Is there any validity to the theory floated that the Clone vs. Droid set is a remake-combo of the original Droid and Clone battle packs? The CIS build is an approximation of the Platoon Attack Craft (which is Canon). Points against this theory are that the Republic build is intended to be a BARC speeder (Republic builds in the CvD pack are implied to be non-Canon), and that speeders and repulsorlift vehicles are technically flying. -

Looking realistically (not nostalgically) at the various real-world themes that LEGO put out from 1997-2000 (Divers, RES-Q, Extreme Team, Space Port, Arctic), these sets are clearly connected (often quite directly, with Minifigs from one theme appearing in another) and could have been released under a single banner. We even see crossovers between RES-Q, Extreme Team, Divers, and Town Jr. in catalogue images. -

Nice! 👍 Does this mean that the Republic builds are non-Canon, though? What we know about the Clones vs. Droids “super battle pack”, courtesy of @Renown: Regarding the possibility of the Clones being Shinies: To summarise: - Clone unit is unknown via the prelim image. - Both Republic and CIS get more than one build. - Most of the builds cannot fly (I.E. are ground vehicles, stationary turrets, terrain, etc). - The CIS builds are Canon and more substantial than the Republic builds. - The set does not include an ARC-170 in any form, nor anything that looks like an ARC-170! - The set includes B2 battle droids and up to ten Minifigs (Clones and Droids), though the exact breakdown of the droids has yet to be stated as far as I am aware (this info via Promobricks). -

OK - Can you give a hint as to what it actually is (aside from the fact that it does not fly)? Do both factions get builds, or only one? I did just have to get new glasses. . . 😬 -

Ah; I did not realise that. In that case, both Brickreporter and Mandr are quoting Lifebricks, who known for his reliability and excellent track record. 🙄 Both of these are far too large for a $30 super battle pack, especially one that includes so many droids (which inflate the part-count). The most that I expect is an AT-RT or speeder bike and turret vs. a STAP and either a crab droid or dwarf spider droid. -

Correct - Dreamzzz was codenamed “Titan”. If the CMF is not actually a Space series, and instead “Space” is a (very cruel, IMO!) codename, the series will have nothing to do with space! @Renown is reliable and quite adamant that the build is not an ARC-170, but with two seemingly-unconnected sources saying the opposite, I am wondering if the set includes something that could look like an ARC-170 if viewed in passing or in a blurry picture. Leaving aside the possibility of a non-Canon pile of bricks “vehicle” (🤮), what if the build/one of the builds is a 74-Z speeder bike? While not used as common as the BARC, the Republic did use the 74-Z speeder bike more commonly associated with the Empire; Stass Allie rides one when Order 66 occurs. The colours of the Republic 74-Z are the same as those of the ARC-170, and the shape is similar enough to what a Microfighter or Yavin-scale one would look like that I can see why there might be some confusion (in addition to the fact that some may not remember that the Republic used the 74-Z, and so are assuming that the build is another vehicle). Thoughts? 🤔 -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I am more than just cautiously optimistic - There is really no way that this will be bad! We usually only get 1-2 space-related Minifigs in any given CMF Series, so as long as there are two or more good Minifigs, it will be a better series for Space than any before! -

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
This seems mostly like a standard 1HY Fire/Police wave, so which sets I get comes entirely down to execution and whether a given model adds to or fills a gap in my City collection (60412 and 60418 could be nice additions, for example). The space sets are a different story; barring truly bad designs/juniorisation (which seems unlikely given the PPPs), I am getting all of them. I like the more sci-fi direction that the theme seems to be moving in, with a mech and aliens - A first for LEGO city (not counting the alien head balloon/puppet from the space centre people pack). -

What!? SPACE CMF???!!!! OMFG I am so unbelievably hyped right now!!!!! Do we know if this is Series 25 or Series 26? The May release date suggests S26, since S25 will probably come out in January - And I second your request for an all-Castle series, as well as a Pirates series! What do we know about the lineup? I suspect that it will be a combination of remakes, new concepts, and add-ons (new CS spaceman colour is a lock). @danth!!! -
This is potentially the Source Dragon from the end of S1a. I wonder if this will be Sora’s S1 mech in its flight configuration. Very unlikely, IMO, as the entire idea behind the Dragons Rising soft reboot was to make the theme more cohesive and drop the ‘theme’ seasons. I agree; I like that LEGO seems to be varying the types of sets that are released in each wave, and I am surprised at the disappointment since mechs have been a large part of Ninjago since Rise of the Snakes! My only complaint at this point is the lack of Imperium sets (though Beatrix’s and Rapton’s hover chariots could appear as antagonists in some of the larger sets); I hope that we at least get Dr. LaRow, along with more gold guards and Claw Hunters.

Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Definitely picking these up (especially the X-Jet!)! I am actually optimistic about the War Machine mech (of all things), since he is one of the few characters who needs/would use one. I really like that we are getting follow-up sets for GotG1 and NWH, and I hope that this trend continues! Who are we thinking will appear in the Blackbird? My guess would be Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Gambit, and Magneto - All of these are classic, iconic, characters from the original show, and ones who are retuning for ‘97. Professor X could appear instead of Magneto, but I feel like the set will include at least one antagonist. I might pick these up if the Minifigs are good enough; hopefully 76279 includes a spider other than Peter or Miles (2099 would be great!). 1.) Disney likely did not want to market Fox’s property (as they owned the film rights to the X-Men at the time). 2.) Deadpool got an R-rated movie in 2016 which set the tone for the character as one who is decidedly not child-friendly! -

That Gunship looks really bad. The wings are too long for the overall size (and the bubble turrets are stud shooters!), the ship itself is too short and stubby (there needs to be more space between the cockpits and the point where the cannons connect, and the cannons are too short as well), the nose is blocky and full of gaps and awkward angles, and the sides are not smooth and curving as they should be (none of the SNOT plates seem to align). The Minifigs are the only redeeming part of the set, and even then Padmé has a reused head and Fox is very mid (inaccurate amount of white on the chestplate, grey (rather than black) visor, white legs (red with white printing would have looked better, IMO), and the lack of a cloth or moulded kama really stands out for some reason). Overall, I am quite disappointed! -

Options for Clone units in 75372: - Plain (Shinies) - Possible, and highly-requested. More associated with the Empire, though, so maybe less likely in a set with droids? - 212th - Extremely likely, given that they are the second most prominent unit, and considering that enough time has passed since the AT-TE came out. Also, our last worldwide army-builder and cheap source of Airborne Troopers came out in 2014! - Shock Troopers - Would be great, but not likely with the LAAT coming out and Grogu’s Escape potentially including 1-2. - 327th - Very possible, and probably on LEGO’s radar considering their creation of the Macrobinoculars attachment. Also, a $30 “super battle pack” could conceivably include a commander, so Bly is not off the table. - Wolfpack (104th) - Very possible; Wolffe appeared in the Skywalker Saga game (which gave us our first looks at Fox and Sheev), and the unit is one of the more popular. - 91st - Moderately likely, but I have doubts; LEGO has not really prioritised the 91st (we only ever got two Troopers!), and considering that Grogu’s Escape is almost certainly going to include a BARC speeder, I really cannot see us getting either BARC Clones without a speeder or two speeders at the same time. Maybe in a few years. - 41st (Green/Grey/Camo) Definitely possible. While the Kashyyyk variant is seen as overused, our last battle pack for the 41st came out in 2014, so there is an entire generation of kids who have not had the opportunity to get them (I feel very old right now! 😬). Also, Gree appears in the Skywalker Saga game. - 442nd - The wildcard; not prominent at all, but the right balance of obscure, recognisable, and colourful that I could actually see LEGO going there. Points against are that they are just a colour-swap of the 212th, and that only one type of Trooper has made any kind of appearance (battle packs usually include 2-3 types). - 13th (Jaro Tapal’s unit) - Unlikely. While nice, LEGO has been avoiding making even more significant things from J:FO/J:S; additionally, they look like a combination of the 327th and the 212th, so they lack adequate visual distinctiveness to warrant appearing right now. - 187th (Canon brown/dark red version) - Very unlikely; far too obscure to appear in a battle pack. I would legitimately expect the return of purple 187th before we get Canon 187th! Overall, I would rank the order of likeliness as: 212th -> 327th, 41st (same level) -> Shinies -> Wolfpack. -

Agreed on the 501st and partially on the 41st (Kashyyyk camo only - we still need the dark green BF2 and grey RotS versions!), but I disagree that we have enough 212th. We only got three of the current design 212th Clones in the AT-TE, one in this year’s advent calendar, and one Airborne Trooper in Grievous’ starfighter back in 2020; I think that we (in North America, at least) are due a good 212th army-builder (with at least one Airborne Trooper) at this point! Also, Crab Droid. -

Can you comment on the build? He says that it will be some kind of small ARC-170 - Is that true? Is that all that there will be, or is there a chance for something like a crab droid? -

Not the most overpriced Mando set, though - Even if it only has Beq, Grogu, and one 501st Trooper, it would still be a better set than Trouble on Tatooine due to the sidecar BARC. -

The wave overall feels lacklustre from a playscale standpoint (one “super battle pack”, one pseudo-battle pack, and the ship from Skeleton Crew), though excellent for midi-scale and diorama collectors; hopefully we will get more normal sets from the five unknowns (maybe an Ahsoka spoiler set, and hopefully 1-2 TBB sets). By “new type”, do you mean a new unit or a new helmet?
