Just pointing out that the "Moon Warrior" is going to be an historical/fantasy figure, as it was described by Promobricks to have a sword and a shield with crescent moon print (rather than as some kind of space-warrior).

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I am wondering if Bandmates were selected as a way of testing how well the boxes sold, since properties like Looney Tunes and Marvel are going to sell more regardless of how they are packaged. The Bandmates series are more similar to standard CMFs, so it would be easier for LEGO to compare the sales data between Series 21 and the Bandmates than between it and the Marvel CMFs. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Classic_Spaceman replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What is the source for this? I ask, because though it could be the 1x1s, it could also be the result of LEGO having changed the material used to make transparent pieces (the new parts are less “sticky”, so the old mould with the new material could result in loose pieces). 😕 -

The actual reason that the new Snowtroopers lack backpacks is that LEGO changed the neck bracket mould to make it slightly thicker, and in so doing, made it incompatible with the Snowtrooper helmets. 😕 -

Yes, but they are in boxes, not bags (I was countering @Vindicare’s claim that there were numerous bagged CMF series since Bandmates released, and that as such, LEGO does not intend to phase out the bags). -

The Snowtrooper Commander is also new, though hopefully not exclusive! Since the print exists now, I can see the Battle Pack being: Snowtrooper (2x), Snowtrooper Commander (1x), Snow Scout (1x) (which also fits the 2/1/1 format of prior BPs). -

Only one, actually. CMF Series 21 released before Bandmates did and Looney Tunes overlapped with them, making the MCU series the only one to be released entirely after the Bandmates. -

Also, the set is rumoured to be $70 with 901 pieces, so whatever it is, it is quite large. EDIT: The set number (76980), part-count (901), and price ($79.99), are the same as the old Null Sector Titan rumour. I am not sure what to make of this, since the set listing appears to be legitimate, and the set number is in-line with those of other Overwatch sets. 😕 -

At this point, I will believe that we are getting new Overwatch sets when I actually see them physically. That said, a "German van" set could be related to Brigitte, since a van appears in her origin video, and she and Reinhardt jump out of what appears to be the same van in the Zero Hour short. Since we already have Reinhardt, and since LEGO likes mechs, a Brigitte set seems plausible. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I doubt that. While I can understand LEGO not wanting to have overly-similar themes on shelves at the same time, I am really not sure what the terms of the (hypothetical) deal with Disney would be to result in exactly the sets that we have and have not gotten. Any line that I can think to draw between what does and does not constitute a "space" theme feels very arbitrary, easily-subverted, and difficult to enforce (as well as inconsistent with what LEGO has produced). -
LEGO may not have a clear date, though. November 1st was a rumour (IIRC); the only official word on them has been “Coming Soon”. 😕

A picture of the new CMF raccoon costume has leaked, and it appears to have unprinted light grey/black dual-moulded legs. This should be useful for purists who want to update their Rebel Fleet Troopers.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Underwater ninjas make sense when one of the characters is the Master of Water (also, the ninja did go to space, albeit briefly, in the show). Additionally, the episode “Codename: Arcturus” was initially intended to set up a space-focused season, but it did not pan out (and with Tommy Andreasen being adamantly against including space and aliens in the show, we are unlikely to see space ninjas anytime soon). That said, from Andreasen’s comments, it seems that this is a creative decision, rather than a contractual one. I agree, and considering its blue/white (or blue/grey) colour-scheme, it should be easy to modify into a Classic Space ship! -
Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - Heroica Hall

Yelana leaned back on the sofa and thought about what Query had said. Finishing her snack, she swung her backpack onto her back, then left her apartment and returned to the Hall. OoC: -
I wonder if the delay has anything to do with the cardboard shortage that pushed the City Stuntz bikes into next year. Unlike CMFs, Bandmates are packaged in boxes, so if some boxed sets are being affected by supply-chain issues, it is possible that others (namely Bandmates) are as well. 🤔

Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Do we know if CMFs and Bandmates are produced in the same facilities? If not, there could be a production reason why the CMF line has not moved to boxes yet. As for using Series 22 as a gauge, the cardboard supply-chain issues may slow the rollout of boxes for CMFs, so I would not take the use of bags as proof that boxes will not be used in the future. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I agree, particularly since what a "space" theme is is difficult to define and separate from other themes. Rock Raiders is technically a space theme (despite having no ships/rockets/etc), and themes like Ninjago and Monkie Kid are so heavily sci-fi that the only thing keeping them from being "space themes" is the lack of spacesuits and starfield backgrounds. These plushies may indicate that LEGO is planning to release a Classic Space theme/set (perhaps for their 90th anniversary?), since they are definitely targeted at children, rather than AFOLs, as the puzzles are. In other news, three sets based on the Lightyear movie are coming in April ($20, $30, $50). Based on the first trailer, I assume that the $50 set will be Buzz's ship (since it has a similar size and design to the MK White Dragon Horse Jet, which is also $50). Just as a side-note, am I the only one who legitimately likes VIDIYO? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I am not sure, but cardboard is more obviously recyclable (also, since we saw a mock-up of a Bandmates-style box for Series 21 (before we saw the Bandmates themselves), I feel like LEGO is planning to switch over entirely at some point). -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably, but if LEGO is committed to using only recyclable materials, CMFs will likely end up being packaged in Bandmates-style boxes at some point, so the issue would be moot. Also (in my opinion), COVID has killed the bag-fondling method of finding desired figures, since the idea of spending an extended period of time in a store touching merchandise that countless others have handled and coughed/sneezed/breathed upon is no longer appealing! 😷 -

Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since those bags only appear in figures that have large moulded pieces (e.g. dolphin, centaur body) or cloth elements (capes), I assume that it is either an issue of manufacturing or a way to prevent damage. Either way, I doubt that the secondary packaging will disappear, though the plastic bags could be replaced with paper ones in future series. -
Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - Heroica Hall

"<Aright, first, copying something and leaving the original doesn't count as 'theft' - It's like taking a picture, and second, you're still not getting it, are you? You're not connected to the Hall, so while the programme you're a copy of is still running, you - 'your programme' - only exists here on my visor.>" Yelana stopped to take a breath and another sip of water. "<You might understand it better this way: Search the data for asexual cellular reproduction, then think of the Hall's security programme as a cell and yourself as a copy of that cell. You're a new entity, independent of the original, despite being a clone of it when you were downloaded. That make sense?>" OoC: -
