It is quite solid actually. The weakness is more in the mounting than the bucket itself. tim -

I have already taken that bucket apart, but I think you can see enough detail from the picture to build it yourself. tim -

What bucket? You need to be more specific. tim -
I am sure they want to milk the sales of their crawler and rm8's new model as well. If they put up the motors by themselves they lose the profits from the large box set. tim

Some races only allow models of real trucks, and they must be exactly too a certain scale. it might be more fun if you allow original cabin and suspension designs that dont strictly follow a real life truck. tim -
The Gearsbreaker - sandrail
timslegos replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would also suggest trying another type of linkage than those tiny little 12t gears. I have seen a design before that uses both a 12t and 20t bevel gears on the same axle, thus there are two sets of gears meshing each other at once. tim- 17 replies

I remember reading in the past of someone building a submarine and they used an untreated M motor. As long as the motor stayed submerged, little damage was done. As soon as the motor was removed however, rust basically destroyed the internals. tim -
