José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looks like Captain Smiley is starting to lose his sanity... Also, I don't know what Bodi is talking about, that's CLEARLY a Class 8. That monolith of a ship could outmatch any man-of-war on this forum! -
[RSNP] Seascapes near Terraversa
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build and amazing scenes! Excellent job on the landscaping and with making everything lively and pure! I hope that great white keeps his distance from Baker. I know he is a man of science, but hopefully, he doesn't get too carried away! -
José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Happy New Year everyone! I'm actually shocked to see that Lego never released sheep in general form. Yet, duplo got 8 different sheep molds. Well, if those amazing custom sheep fail you, @Ayrlego, you can always resort to the lego mincraft sheep or just have a gigantic duplo sheep roaming about. I'm sure it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary... -
Nice update, Kurigan! The originals were nothing short of excellent, but these updated ones bring a whole new meaning to custom minifigures! Would LOVE to see these kinds of minifigures in larger quantity in more of your builds! Is the infantry with the green uniform based off of the 95th Regiment of Foot? I absolutely adore the history behind them and it would be amazing to see the regiment recreated in a build! Once again, wonderful job! I look forward to seeing what you add next!

I adore the layout you designed for this ! Although I find it strange to think of grown men in a naval academy in a pool "practicing naval techniques" with small ships, I think that is a genius and wacky addition to the academy and love it! So happy you choose trans-light blue instead of dark. That color never ceases to be eye-candy! Once again, truly a wonderful MOC and excellent detailing, ships, and scenes!

Your buildings are absolutely impeccable! Love the design and the varying colors of the dock with the reddish brown and brown going along with the stonework! I definitely enjoyed the little story you added as well as the small ship. Another excellent build, Wolf!

Another amazing build, Wolf! The architectural style is spectacular along with all the beautiful colors. Love the pearl gold at the top and dark red roofing! I've mentioned this before in your other mocs, but your usage of the different foliage colors, as well as the wedge plates, definitely creates some beautiful landscaping! Glad we have a naval academy now. With a one this size and gorgeous, we'll be ready for the SR!

[GoC] A New Haven
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love the styling for this! The colors are great alongside the small details added (never would have thought of cookies)! The clothing drying rack is a very nice addition to me as I don't think I've personally ever seen one before in Lego. Absolutely adore the layout and design of this MOC, and love the story alongside it! As Capt. Wolf said, I'm glad to hear that you'll be back with us! -
Wow! It must have been very difficult to manage to build a skull of that size. The detailing is really nice, and the colors are spectacular! I absolutely love the scenes you have going on and the overall theme of the MOC! What a beauty!

New LEGO Awesome Activity Book with Pirate minifigure
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
This seems like a pretty interesting addition for a collection, so I'd love to get my hands on a copy. I live in Florida, so if you're down, I'd love to pay you for a copy if you ever find one. If you do find one, just PM me and we can go from there. Thanks for the offer! -
[BTSC 619] Weelond Regimentals
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Captain Dee Worded it perfectly! This build is exactly my favorite format to see! It's amazing how unique you made each of the players and included scenes to display each of them. The detailing is amazing and I can only imagine a lot enjoyment was had with the photos and building it all (especially one building in particular... ). Love the story and the entrance of your regimentals! I absolutely adore this build! -
My pirates/medieval collection
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yes! Tell us all your secrets! Haha, plenty of us are in the same boat! Like Phes, I am completely out of space and a new wave would be killer. At one point and I even had to put the barracuda on top of my falcon! Also, no worries with removing the all powerful greencoats. We all know you just removed them because they are superior in all ways to those filthy corries and oleand-... I mean, redcoats and bluecoats! i'm not biased! i swear... -
Lovely MOC! As always, your buildings are nothing short of excellent and beautiful. Love the sand green and the snowy landscaping! The LEDs are also a wonderful touch. The water looks gorgeous with them! I actually just watched the Harry Potter Azkaban movie three days ago, so this was great timing for me!

My pirates/medieval collection
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in Pirate MOCs
What a lovely collection you have, Mikey! I've seen a few of your older videos before, but your current arrangement is extremely impressive! You have many wonderful modifications and custom elements that definitely makes everything so unique. Thanks for showing us your beautiful collection! Also, the Saint Mary is a very nice looking ship. Excellent job on that! -
[OL-FB] 36-gun frigate "le Hussard"
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wow, what an excellent frigate! The custom hull for the frigate and rowboats is wonderful and the detailing is nothing less than superb. Those two with the amazing rigging and sails create a very eye pleasing ship from all sides! Also, love the scenes and the anchor (how did you build it?). Truly a wonderful piece, excellent job! Can't even imagine how long that rigging took. None the less though, you did an outstanding job on it. -
Looking forward to seeing it! It looks like an absolute behemoth from the picture! I have no clue what black fictional ships are out there other than the Pearl.

Welcome to Eurobricks, @Black Pearl! Having custom rigging really decreases the whole build's fragile spots on the masts and will most likely solve that problem if it's tight enough. Of course, keep in mind that it wont entirely solve your problem, but personally I just leave the top without axle connections because the only hazard to the top is just knocking in to the whole thing or if it's meant for kids more than for collectors. If you wish to go the route of third party items, you can always purchase small metal bars to put through the masts. Personally, what i'd do if it's 59 bricks tall is just use a 32 axle and 16 axle and then leave the top connected normally. The only route I'd advise against for axles is using many small axles to connect the entire thing. I don't generally use size 8's or under as having a bunch can just lead to removing the clutch power of the piece. Hope this helps!

[LEGO IDEAS] Davy Jones by Namirob
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
What an amazing MOC! The detailing is absolutely mind-blowing. It looks as if it is very large and even with that scale, doesn't leave any spot empty and plain. Such an awesome build! -
[ESL-FB] Blacksmith shop
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As Kai said, this is definitely eye pleasing! The colors used as well with the overall layout create a very peaceful and pleasant scene. Everything about this build is wonderful! Also, what's the white torso you used for the short sleeved worker? It is a very fitting torso for the pirate theme.- 12 replies

[Moc] The last Kingdom of Falcons
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to pantelis's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow, this definitely brings nostalgia the moment you look at it. It's not everyday that you see a raised baseplate used in a MOC and this surely puts it to excellent use. As the Black Knight's Castle was my first set in the castle series, I get goosebumps just looking at this. You did a wonderful job of using excellent techniques and using more detailed landscaping and rockwork, while still maintaining the classic look of old castle. It looks wonderful! -
You're completely fine, @Corydoras. I apologize for being biased, and I'm sure no one here mean't to become defensive. Lets go back to focusing on the MOC, as it's the reason we all came here. Since the creator of this MOC has a Eurobricks account, why don't you recommend to him what you'd personally change. This way he might be able to get some good ideas. Also, as Mac said, nice dock! It looks wonderful! Do you have a flickr that showcases it in better detail?
-
Didn't even know that topic was still being updated. In that case, also huge thanks to @leafan for all the support! I'll definitely be checking out that page in the future now that I know it's being updated! Once again, this is a wonderful MOC and I simply cannot wait to see what amazing idea you come up with next, @Master0889!

Galley, La Capitana, Chapmann plate LVIII no.18
The Neighborhood Merchant replied to Anders T's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is a remarkable vessel, Anders! I've been looking at this one almost every day but just haven't commented probably for the same reason many haven't: it's so fresh and new to our eyes. I'm not well educated on 14th and 15th century vessels, but I can say from my knowledge that your colors (is that light pearl gold I see?) and techniques are outstanding! The brickbuilt hull, as always with your builds, is spectacular, and the curves and angles are stunning. You truly outdid yourself here, friend. Kudos to you! I've been looking at all your beautiful ships often, and even though I haven't posted anything on them, I admire them all the time. Your ship expert title has been well earned! To add, If you are planning on building one of your ships in person, I would definitely do this one as it is an absolute behemoth and would look even more outstanding (is that even possible?) with sails and a full crew. Also, Psst, I have a question for you . What kind of NASA supercomputer parts do you have to run 16200 parts on stud.io? Mine is about to explode at 9,000. -
Haha, I'm just messing around. I'm far too young and not yet ready to have that responsibility, so I'll have to accept defeat and do this one myself for now. None the less, I do have two cats and they're basically my children for now. Don't get me wrong, I've tried to introduce them to MOC building, but they prefer to get fur everywhere more than help. Plus, they like to undo and rip my strings more than tie them.
-
Glad you enjoyed the MOC, @Professor Thaum! I'm thrilled to hear you also like the old shields and books and that you think they belong, as they are very special to me. I'm shocked I never saw your Andromeda, and I must say it's a real beauty with it's color scheme and modular functions. If Octan has ties with the Pirate series, they need to come in contact with you for that ship! The way you did the smooth 2 x 2 tiles and modular functions for that ship are actually really nice looking as compared to my more Imperial flagship similarities. I'm currently trying to make a frigate with heavier rigging, and I must say it's rather difficult to have an interior with all the lines everywhere. I wish strings worked like technic pins. Darn you physics! Thanks again for the kind words, and I look forward to see what MOC you cook up in the lab next! Also, I completely agree with you on the string rigging. I feel the more I touch with my clumsy hands, the worse it gets. I need to consider hiring my neighbor's son to do all the rigging for me...
