LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Exactly! I can say for a fact that sets like 8404 and 60154 would've been sets I would've loved as a kid. It was worth building a dedicated subtheme from. I said this on the 2021 City page that any major city service that has to do with a vehicle (i.e. police, fire, medical, sanitation, postal services, construction or public transportation) should get a dedicated subtheme under City. Then the Great Vehicles and Town subtheme would be strictly for civilian stuff like the camper or the doughnut shop that wouldn't exactly fit into a dedicated subtheme. -

Proof? I will make some exceptions. Divers and Space are actually ok because the bases are in the city. Even though Arctic isn't city based, that one kinda holds a special place in my heart because of nostalgia. -
Ah! I see. Ya know, I really don't have respect for AFOLs who take other people's creations and claim them as their own. How many times has he done that?

That looks amazing! The LBSCR is also where Thomas was built.

It's all good. But it does seem like people are finally going for my public transit subtheme idea now. -

Ok! Now those I never thought of that before. Maybe this would be something good to mention on the Ideas For New City Sets forum. Though I must warn you. You're on one of those forums where narrow mindedness is a thing. So be prepared for a lot of people disagreeing with those ideas. I has the same thing happen when I made set ideas for a Public Transportation subtheme which wasn't very well received when I first brought it up. -

As said above, 2017 had Jungle and 2018 had Mining. 2012 had Mining too. Now as far as Museum is concerned, we've had a museum in the 2013 Elite Police (I recommend that one if you want a museum for your table town - if you have one) wave and one in Capital City in 2018. I bring those up because that's probably as far as we're going to get as far as museum themed sets are concerned. City is one of those themes that makes its subthemes vehicle based....and there isn't really much vehicle based sets they can do with a museum subtheme and there isn't really any action unless its a crime taking place or unless its being built or on fire. -

Why would they oust a perfectly good subtheme in the city with one that takes place out of the city? Sounds kinda stupid to me. Personally, I don't think explorers should even be in a theme about City life in the first place. -

Yeah! That's why I brought the 2014 police station instead. The flat tile pieces will work much better and theyll be much easier to connect to the new road system. I still consider 2014 as one of the golden years of City. -

Oh yeah! I remember that one. That was back when baseplates still owned City. -

Its almost November! I'm expecting clearer pictures soon. Then I can really see what that Octan building in the City Center set is. If its a car wash, I need one of those in my town. It would go great with my service station. Still have my 2016 btw. Kept it together just in case I wasn't satisfied with the 2020, which I wasn't. -

I wanted to think that as I kinda stopped caring for the subtheme thing since the late 2010s due to obvious reasons. But then our friend, @Aanchir said that she still saw subthemes and that Lego wouldn't get rid of such a successful idea for one of their biggest themes. -

Actually we can if it's a guaranteed subtheme. Coast Guard is a guranteed subtheme just like Police, Fire, Aiport, Trains, Great Vehicles and Town. -

I already know Coast Guard is returning as that one is guaranteed every 4 or 5 years. I hope Garage from 2009 returns too! Technically that would be considered a rescue subtheme given what it was portrayed as back during the "HEY" generation. Right now, I have every set from taht subtheme except for the helicopter transport - which I plan to obtain soon. Here's another revival I hope City does in the near future. Yes, it does seem like this is basically Coast Guard. But the newer version of ResQ could probably focus on post natural disaster situations. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Given that modulars are supposed to be for older people, I'm sure they can make an exception. Besides, it's not like they have to show the inappropriate sides of it. They can just have the slot machines, pool hall or the blackjack tables. Lego is good at that. How do you think they are able to do what they do with City? -
I work for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. I think building a New Flyer XD40 may be a bit hard though.

I think the best we can do is wait for clearer pics then be the judge of that. -

Yo! You should've seen this 50s style bus terminal on Lego Ideas. It was also connected to a coffee shop. Personally, I would've done something that was never done in a modular before. Like a small casino or something. I think it could work. -

Yeah! Especially for City. Could have a mail van and an envelope dispenser for action. -

Do you think lego will ever realese another space theme
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to arealhuman's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
You're not being dumb. I used to dislike my wants being tempered either. But I've actually learned that perhaps some people may be closer to Lego than I think and they may know what will and won't happen.......at least anytime soon. -
Looney Tunes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
You know what's strange? I had thoughts about a possible Looney Toons theme for Lego. I didn't think it would actually be a thing. -
Nice build! Love how you used the Hamm mold up there.
