Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I like the new house. Reason being is that I can actually use it as an apartment complex for my town's residents. All I need is maybe a parking lot. Then it would be complete. Not too fond of the new road plate system. But like all new things I see, it could have its pros and cons. I'll stick to road plates for right now though. The city center is another one that is definately on my list. This finally includes some characters that haven't even been introduced yet. I'm also glad that it includes a car wash and a pizzeria - two buildings which are really needed in my town. I don't think I will be getting any of the fire sets. Though I do thank Lego that they included some lesser known LCA firefighters (i.e. Sarah and Bob) instead of just throwing Clemmons and Freya in there. Though like you said, they cameo in other sets. -

Favorite/most iconic trains?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Reker1000000's topic in LEGO Train Tech
My favorite trains are the Emerald Night, the TGV and the Maerks train. I also like the tram from the main square set. But if we're talking LEGENDARY, check this out. -

Or they could use those connector pieces they use for rigs and trailers. -

Bruh! You should go on eBay. Someone is selling the main square tram standalone for 80 bucks plus shilling fees. That's ridiculous. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

That's not a fair assumption to make. That would be like saying that the fire subtheme could only give us a station and a pumper or a medical subtheme can only give us an ambulance and a hospital. There are lots of sets that you could do under a public transportation subtheme. Here are some ideas I've come up with before. A driver training set with a mini bus, a frantic driver and a disgruntled trainer. A shuttle service set with a man in a wheelchair A local passenger service set with a regular sized bus and a stop A motor coach set A small NYC Port Authority style bus terminal building with a taxi An uptown line set with a bendy bus and some type of office building with a stop in front of it. That's just to name a few. A public transportation subtheme would give us a slew of different types of buses similar to the police subtheme giving us a line of police vehicles, fire subtheme giving us a line of fire engines and coast guard giving us a slew of boats. -

They should recycle the buses from 2013 and 2018 and make them yellow/green like the one from 2017. That should the brick color scheme for transit buses from now on. I'm hoping they'd do a bendy bus if they were to do a public transportation subtheme. That would probably be a little challenging though given that they'd have to improvise with the accordion area. But I'm sure Lego could do it. -

Yeah! The public transportation system, the sanitation workers, the postal service, etc. Then there are subthemes that should be revived such as medical, towing and cargo. So much to expand on there. -

I think there are a lot of city services that need a dedicated subtheme. The My City subtheme (which is Great Vehicles and Town put together) should be lowered to only civilian stuff like the camper and the doughnut shop. -

I like it better as a standalone. Integrated into a bigger set will make them hard to obtain. -

Given that we just got one this past summer, I doubt it. I understand though. I wasn't too fond of the 2020 either. I like the 2006, 2010 and 2016 ones better. -
I love this song.

Dualy noted! I think it would make sense in that case. It seems like the options are pretty limited as of now. I hope they'll add more options and import the game to the states as time progresses. But you know what they say about people who hope for too much. -

Yeah! The price was my biggest conceren. That's why I ordered mine off of eBay for only $160 USD. I consider it a good deal. Its definately funwhether it's a toy for a KFOL or an AFOL's table town. Good for TFOLs too. -

Unfortunately, I have to say yes. I mostly collect City for vehicles, though I do have some of the older buildings that were made back when the standards of City sets were much higher. Buildings like this are the 2014 Police Station, 2016 Service Center or the 2013 Train Station. Buildings like that were perfect. But I also have some current buildings such as the tuning workshop - which I have to say is amazing. Though I did add another sets of windows to the side near the garage door so it would fit my standards. I plan to eventually convert it into a generic garage. I'll post that when I get to it. Good news though. I also was able to acquire the main square set. I'm so excited. I dunno why people are so cruel to the town hall building. I actually like it. I also love that diner. I love that tram too. Most of the time, if I don't like a current set, I just go for an older version that looks better to me. City is my favorite theme. But I mostly collect the older sets that were made before the series came. With some exceptions. I also plan to buy the City Center set for 2021. -

I have to agree there. I was pretty sure that this years police wave would be based in a jumpy environment like the forest, swamplands or mountains. Instead, we got regular police sets. Don't misinterpret that though. I'm not complaining people! I'm just shocked and kinda impressed at the same time. Yes police is what keeps the City theme alive so it needs to be featured in some major way. But it seems like they are being done as though they are serving more of a supportive role than being shoved into our faces and forced to love them. I'm also shocked that we got more fire sets than expected. I hope some of the other named firefighters other tha. Mccloud or Clemmons are in some of the sets. I don't know about anyone else, but I want that mobile fire center. I'll take that helicopter too. That camper is on my list too. That's along with the sports car, city center and apartment building. Sorry but I stand by my statement. That looks more like a condominium than a house. Otherwise, nothing in the GV section really interests me. It's really just different versions of what we got last year and the year before. Speaking of Great Vehicles, I am disappointed that we didn't get a standalone bus under Great Vehicles as it would've been neat. Just have a set with a bus and a sign saying "BUS STOP" on it and you can easily slip it under Great Vehicles. Another good one would've been a much better taxi. One that can actually fit more than one person along with a small waiting area. But given that City surprised us with the winter 2021 wave, I wouldn't be shocked if Lego decided to release another wave of standalone vehicles the summer 2021 wave. That would mean we'd get two waves of Great Vehicles this year instead of one.
