[MOC] (Digital) BCFR Truck 134

Your Mocs are really good, dude! Have you thought about making an Instagram dedicated to your MOCs? -
Sorry Lego! I came around too late. But like you said, @Powered by Bricks, for a new set, it could be similar.

Hmmm...I really don't have a favorite. I love all those ideas. But the autonomous shuttle is the one that stands out to me the most. I have yet to see those in Washington DC. But I'm sure it would make a great City set. The taxi station is also a good one. In City, I've only seen 3 taxis. Would be great to have a s st dedicated to the Lego City cab company. Same with the bendy bus. I drive one of those btw. I'd also add a short line set to your Public Transportation wave idea. That would be a set with a small 30 foot bus for usage on smaller routes.

Not bad! Though I would shorten the nose a little.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

@toopizza13 Yeah! I saw that video. Looking at how by now, they are likely beginning the final phase of the 2021 wave (which is to make their plans a reality), I'm going to assume that if they havent released them here now - they won't be released at all. If it were up to me, I would've saved Elite Police for winter 2021. Nice little anual police wave there. -
Hmmm.........You guys all have good ideas for a public transportation wave. City however, obviously doesn't want to push public transportation that much considering that we only see one to two pieces of public transportation matter a year. These are mostly seen in mega sets and throughout the years, we've only gotten two sets that are strictly dedicated to public transport (one being in 2010 and the other being in 2017). Though if we were to count the passenger trains, I'd say six. I think either Great Vehicles and Town is as far as we're going to get as far as the public transport system. Matter of fact, the way things were for City in 2010s is the way its likely going to be for the foreseeable future. Let's not forget, this ain't the golden age anymore. That ended for City in the early 2010s. Its a new era. Sets dedicated solely to public transport: 7897 Passenger Train 7997 Train Station 7937 Train Station 7938 Passenger Train 8404 Public Transport Station 60050 Train Station 60051 High Speed Passenger Train 60154 Bus Station 60197 Passenger Train Sets that show signs of a public transport system. 7641 City Corner - bus 60026 Town Square - bus 60097 City Square - tram 60200 Capital City - bus 60233 Doughnut Shop Opening - taxi 60271 Main Square - tram So we've actually got 15. But to be frank, those were really thrown around through town and trains - which kinda frustrates me. My assumption is that the designers that handle City sets want to save "dedicated" subthemes for action that children DON'T get to see on a daily basis with police and exploration being the best sellers. That could explain why we don't have a dedicated subtheme for public transport and why certain subthemes like garage, mail, cargo, farm, construction and emergency must've been.discontinued as subthemes as the average child can pretty much see that type of action every time they step out of their house. That's probably why it would be considered "boring". Things like police chases, fire fights, the arctic, planes (unless you live on an air force base), trains (unless you live near a railroad), the deep sea, space, rescues at sea, the jungle or volcanos are things that the average child out there DON'T get to see everyday. Thus making children excited about these sets. Thus why they sell well. Thus why we see them all the time and why we will keep seeing them for the foreseeable future of Lego City. If you work any of the former jobs, I am not attacking you. I also work in public transport - so it would be hypocritical of me to attack. These are just jobs that the average child would see everyday.

I've been kinda wondering that myself. -
Is it time for LEGO to stop being colorblind?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nooooooooooo! Yellow better. -
I definitely agree. I work in public transport and we are also a vital civilian service. Not all heroes save lives. There are also heroes that serve their community.
-
@Greenstar LOL! You did an entire wave there. This time Lego, can you make the taxi fit two people instead of one?
-
Oh no! I wasn't talking about you doing that. I was just saying that in general. No attacks toward you man.
-
Good ideas. I would also add a short line set with a mini bus like the Thomas SLF. How about a police train to complement that? Because unfortunately City has to have at least one police set a year.

@Klaus-Dieter I hope they do have a Forest subtheme next year. Tbh, Volcano is kinda old. -
That looks amazing! Very small MOC, but detailed. Looks like something that could actually be in a bus related set.

Yeah! I'm saddened by there being no people pack this year! I was hoping it would be a people pack that would include only named minifigures from the series so we won't have to get a huge set in order to snag them. -
Yeah! I'm surprised that one wasn't a City set. If you mod the bus' colors from yellow and lavender to yellow and black, it totally fits into City. The way it looks doesn't really feel like a Friends vehicle. I'm looking at $29.99 as the maximum for a set like that. If we look at past Great Vehicles, we can see that Lego did vehicles similar to that, only they were haulers. So I don't think pricing will be an issue. Also, here is an articulated bus moc that my friend made along with a shuttle bus and short line bus. If Lego did something like this (along with a little bus stop), I don't think it would be too bulky for children. Bulky would be 8 stud wide. I'm with you there in regards to trams. A rapid transit train is more likely for a standalone set than a tram. But I think a bendy bus is possible to release outside of a town plan set just like any other type of bus. I like to look on the bright-side and not temper awesome ideas.

Personally, I don't really approve of action outside of a city being in a city-related theme. But this theme is targeted towards children who are less critical of an arrangement than adults are along with out of the city action being more popular than action within the city. So I'm guessing that's why Lego does this. As far as volcano's comeback is concerned, I'm sure its going to return because this is what happened last time. I've actually been keeping track with the explorers subthemes and it always went like this. Arctic Space Divers Volcano Jungle Arctic 2 Space 2 (or 3 if you count the one from 2011) Divers 2 So my bets are that Volcano is going to comeback. -
I hope its in blue. Btw, as far as how many buses have been made for City is concerned, I actually counted five. 2009 City Corner 2010 Public Transportation 2013 Town Square 2017 Bus Station 2018 Capital City That was actually a single section bus. Articuclated buses look like this. This would actually be the first time Lego does an actual articulated bus if they do one. Once again, I hope they use blue. Red and yellow don't really suit my taste for transit system colors. Those sets seem like they'd fit better into the fire and medical subthemes for City. I wouldn't necessarily put those in a subtheme that's supposed to be centered around the towing service.

City Subtheme Idea 9: Towing Light Duty Tow - small tow truck with broken down civilian car, female tower and civilian Heavy Recovery - long tow truck with broken down rig, male tower and truck driver Broken Motorbike Rescue - flatbed tow truck with broken down bike, male tower and biker Towing Boat - towing boat with broken down civilian boat, two towers and two beach goers Road Rescue Garage - garage building, civilian car and roadside assistance car, unnamed mechanics and civilian. Includes Harl Hubbs and Cluster in blue repairmen uniforms. City Subtheme Idea 10: Bank Armored Transport - armored car with security guard. Includes Big Betty. Money Transport Plane - armored plane with 3 security guards City Bank - large bank building (bigger than the one from 60245) with security guards, unnamed accountants and armored truck. Includes Snake Rattler and Daisy Kaboom. Bank Train - locomotive with armed car.
-
That's even better. I'd definitely buy one of those. Or if they were to make a bus like this.
-
C'mon Lego! If not a public transportation subthemes for City, at least give us a transit bus for the Great Vehicles line.
