I'm a fan of the brand. I have every Octan set from City. -

Wow! That's cool. 2021 is a great year already for City sets. The last great year we really had was in 2017. That's just my opinion though. I say great instead of good because if I were to say good, 2020 would be the last good year we had for City. Though most of the helicopter sets kinda stank because of that pull cord function. I'm just glad Lego abolished that project for City as it obviously doesn't work for the theme. -
The 2016 Service Station (not too fond of the 2020) Princess Leia's hair (the petrol station managers new hair) 3 copies of the taxi and the toy store from the Donut Shop set. The fire engine from the burger bar fire rescue. Some copies of the race car driver torso from the 2014 race car.

That's good enough for me. Btw, I love what you did with the bank piece from 60245. That should put to rest any complaints about it not being compatible with already established towns. -

Yup! I'll take it. Are the roads wide enough to accommodate two 6 stud wide cars side by side? -

Same thing with me.

Not bad. Given that my town doesn't have any roads yet, this will buy me time to redo the road system plan in my town. It'll be much easier given that I have plans to obtain a LOT of the 2021 sets. -

LEGO's inexplicable design decisions

But with all due respect, that's what TLG does these kinds of things for - for KFOLs and TFOLs who are less critical of a build than an AFOL and for AFOLs who love to do modifications. I believe Lego does this kind of thing deliberately. I'm going to use the 60258 Tuning Workshop for example. One of the sides has a wall missing. TLG did that for easy playability - which is why the back and top are also exposed for the use of the engine swapping winch. But if you want to add a wall to the other side of the building and maybe even a roof for the mere sake of table towning, Lego gives us that to figure out ourselves. If a build came already built to its full potential - it would really be a fun set. Modulars are done that way because they are made to be displayed. Other sets are made to be played with. The diner from the 60271 Main Square set is another build that you can use for a prime example. Put two of them together and you've got a two way diner. -

Official prices. The race buggy and tractor were around 20 bucks. I think shopping street was around 60 or 70. -

No links. It was in the store. Not online. I saw the road plates, the tractor, race buggy transport and shopping street. -

Bro! I saw some at Target the other day. I was shocked. I was like "This is probably Lego's way of saying sorry for making us wait so long for the last wave due to the pandemic!". -

People have a right to disagree dude. Whether we like the road baseplates or not is really just a matter of opinion - no matter how stupid the reason for disliking something sounds. Little life lesson: Its not our place to tell anyone how to feel. You do that, you'll only get resentment or resistance. I say that from experience. -

@Maple Whoa! Calm down dude. I can look beyond the fact that he mentioned price and see a good point being brought out. I personally think that the road pieces being included with sets was pointless. But price isn't the reason. -

@Aanchir I'm going to be honest and say that for me personally, it just may take me a while to get used to the new road system and considering that my town doesn't have any roads yet, I may actually test the new road system out. But I still don't think its a big deal as likd you said....you can simply get road baseplates online. As long as they have a reasonable plan (which I think the new system is reasonable although I wouldn't buy) or as long as the aftermarket price is good, a couldn't give a single clutch if they got rid of road baseplates from under the City theme entirely. Though I would recommend to Lego that they don't single road baseplates out entirely. But rather put road baseplates under the Classic theme with the other baseplabaseso that anyone who prefers to buy from stores can still get road baseplates. They're just not under City anymore. -

Yeah! Nowadays City Towing is the towing company for Lego City though I think i like the orange creme livery with the tow truck emblem for the towing company better. I have all three of those. If they were to do an Octan tow truck, I'm think in a bigger City set. Like a mega style service station. Now that's something I would totally jump up and down for. I prolly wouldn't buy as my town doesn't really have enough room for rails. But I'd definitely congratulate Lego if one of those were done right. -

On another note, it seems like City is granting another one of my wishes. That was to give us more Octan merch. They've dedinately done that in recent years. I wouldn't consider myself obsessed with the Octan Corp as I don't have all the pieces of Lego that is involved with Octan. But I am a fan. I tell you what though, given that this year seems to be based heavily on civilian based sets, I wouldn't be surprised if we got an Octan tow truck sooner or later. Something similar to what was in the gas n wash express set but bigger.
