Relic Ruminator In a richly pained salon off the noble quarter, Myndros the Minotaur balances a porcelain teacup between careful fingers, candlelight tracing a hairline in the glaze. Still a bard of Historica, Myndros learned his lore on the road, trading songs for secrets in guild halls and market squares. Summoned by nobles and fine merchants alike, all those in the room yearn to learn from the knowledge of the Relic Ruminator.

@Grover - what is the timezone? -
I like the stream in the back. Having the tower on the rocky out-crop looks good. More trees would help the forest feel. Overall looks great.

Fantastic build! I was impressed with the piece selection in this set, but not the overall look. You've fixed that problem!- 6 replies

Book IV Prelude Challenge - *RESULTS POSTED*

Great challenges! -
First, I'm excited about book IV. I've been meaning to finish an updated map of Kaliphlin and have been ignoring it partially since there isn't a real need/deadline; but I'd like it accurate for the beginning of book IV. * What drew you to Eurobricks and the Guilds of Historica? Seeing other builders I admire participate * What aspect of the Guilds here do you like the most/least? I like the slow pace of it and the fact it is always here (vs. some other online LEGO role playing that have come and gone quickly). Getting feedback and inspiration to build is equally important, but that can be got from other places in shorter spurts (e.g. the annual contests). * What questions do you have about the Guilds that might help you understand the activities here better? A more succinct onboarding process would be good. There is a lot of information in various places; having everything in the "Guilds of Historica New Member Guide" would have been nice. At this point, I feel I understand everything well enough. * What of our ongoing challenges do you like the most and least? I think the settlements one is best. I'm the only one doing the Kaliphlin University one, but I think that one is a nice go-at-your-own-pace one too. Having the overall scores of each guild updated more often would be nice, but not critical * Which challenges did you like the best and least? I haven't been around long enough to really say, other than the variety of the ones I've been here for have been great

Beautiful shapes and textures. The flowers on the balcony add a nice splash of color.

Lovely diorama!

Awesome boat design!

Fabulous build! The rock technique turned out great. There is just enough variation in the vegetation for it to avoid stealing focus from the castle while not being plain.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. The background lattice structure is 100% LEGO. On the back side, there are clips that attach to flex tubes to keep all the tiles connected. Every 5th tile aligns with the studs of the base. The only non-LEGO part is the circuit cube motor that drives the spinning satellite dishes.

Great build! The stone techniques are great, especially the 1x2 cheese slopes are the bottom. I may have to steal this technique sometime. It works well with the round tower too. Congrats on the move/setup.

Ice Planet Pioneers In the year 2002, astronaut explorers landed on the Ice Plant to see if habitation was possible. They are the Ice Planet Pioneers. A crew if pioneers make a settlement on the Ice Planet. After landing their home base and garage, they built a helipad and set up communication stations. They launch rockets with satellites around the planet. Here is the paper I used to map our the layout of the base and surrounding area:

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
jtooker replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree, the minifigures are terrific. I agree with others that the castle doesn't look as good as the last, but I think the pieces themselves are terrific. The overall shape of the castle looks good, just the the wall textures with the seemingly random light and dark bleys. -
A blacksmith is only as good as his tools. And this blacksmith has built his workshop out of them! I created this vignette for the Classic Castle’s April seed piece challenge. The seed piece was Thor’s hammer. I used it as the masonry bricks in the floor and around the fireplace.

Awesome creations! The Drow creations are great, especially under the blacklight. The head brick works very well.

Awesome lava! The light behind the bridge really helps the effect. -
Great job! I didn't realize the building was a boot right away!

Autumn Scene A young woman reads a book in the park while autumn leaves dance around her. I created this scene for LOLUG’s monthly competition. This month’s theme was ‘Autumn’.

This is such a great MOC! I've enjoyed coming back several times and looking at the photos again.
