Aaaah, the streets of Mophet... Such a beautiful and tranquil place. It's amazing how the architects never miss a spot to add phenomenal complementary details - the floor pattern, the perfectly aligned vegetation, the golden details shining with the setting sun, the tainted glass, and how each single tower looks unique the yellow horizon's contour. And way to go on the unexpected color use! Another signature Adde51. Another outstanding build. Skol!

Claustrophobic! Phenomenal use of lighting. This is a photo filled with emotion and feeling. The mix of light and shadow, skeletons and man, all hailing and looking above for... protection, guidance, a word of courage or simply a breath of last words? Very cool and unexpected entry, sire Niku. Skol.

CDC1 Tower: Harburg's Southern Watchtower
Louis of Nutwood replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
The proud gold and green banner flapping on top fills me with pride and joy! I'm loving the mix of brick-on-top-of-brick + Snot + brick-on-top-of-brick base on the tower. The pointy roof is exquisite too! Great use of wood tones, and the lean trees as vegetation are a nice touch to a rather warm place in Mitgardia. And the use of the handlebar piece.. huh! Such an interesting addition. All hail the yellow-green flag of the northern folk! Skol! -

Landscapes of Mitgardia - (MCB Book II)
Louis of Nutwood replied to kabel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Heading south from the Bay of Storms, one may run across a region that was once completely taken by the seas. Thousand years ago, when the seas dried, new paths reveled caves and walls that were once hidden underneath the ocean. These caves and walls were mainly formed by a rare type of what the Elders called Limestone - a type of sedimentary rock composed of fragments of oceanic life, distinguishable for its round shapes and light tan colors that vibrate with the touch of the sun. Due to its high concentration of minerals, this Limestone is one of the most dense rocks known in the realm, being close to impenetrable. So impenetrable that even moisture is little absorbed by the rock, while its light tan color remains stagnant through different seasons of the yearlong. Generals and builders still struggle to find solutions to implement this stone into military buildings. eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/174671-aom-stables-phase-i-wash-away/&tab=comments#comment-3175725 -
At first glance, the ship look humongous! I had to come back and check it once more to understand it was built in microscale. And yet, it is still big! I love the ship's design. Very unique, very clean and elvish. The angles as particularly pleasing. The use of gold is amazing, and the various tooth pieces contribute to the flowing design. Impressive and inspiring. The tower, hidden in the rock is heartwarming. To see this marvelous structure amidst the Bay of Storms must be something for few to meet their spirituality and true power. The lightning is great, and I appreciate the photo angle. It certainly builds up and matches to the great story that comes along. To have a second build with the ancient practice of people discovering, using and mastering the 'energy' is giving a further step too. I'm very pleased with the sharp edges, shadows and the brilliance of the blue beam, lighted from below. Fantastic scenes for an amazing Mitgardian entry, Stad. Skol!

And somehow, I see myself back in Riften, fighting gigantic spiders that lurk in the woods, or ice dragons drifting across the tundra. Anither signature Ayrlego build. The trees and the fully textured base are phenomenal. It's a perfect balance of an autumn forest to receive this magnificence of a wood-and-stone watchtower. The yellow birch leaves just make the cold Mitgardian days turn into a warm and peaceful embrace. And a goat is always a treat for the eye, enhancing any MOC's value. Skol, fellow builder.

CDC1 Tale: The Hiding of the Druid Shrine
Louis of Nutwood replied to Henjin_Quilones's topic in Guilds of Historica
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I only wish I was a minifigure to live there and bathe on that waterfall. Talk about immersive photography! This is stunning. Incredibly beautiful. And the access by boat only makes it more magical. Phenomenal build, worthy of the builder. I can only imagine now, what secret powers are being hidden in this shrine. What source of magic would the shrine protect? The Treasure of the Druids... sounds amazing! We can only hope there's a group dedicated to finding the Treasure of the Druids, and hope if falls in the hands of the good-willing ones. Would they bring Druids back? Revive and regroup a long-lost race in our blood-tainted history? Amazing work, sire Henjin. Skol. -
Woooh, nice! Has the city of Kaligem ever been found again? Or does it remain hidden from men and gods? Is there any group in pursuit of the hidden city? Is there something special and magical buried in the sand that will bring a second wave of pain and horror, or happiness and glory to the folk, once brought bake to daylight? Reviving the dead? Managing the weather to its will? Bringing unspoken power to the carrier? Beautiful work with this micro Kali build. It's always a joy to see a creative stretch in a different perspective. And that wave of sand is scary! Awesome entry, Adde. Skol!

CDC1 Tale: Bob's Arrival in Nocturnus
Louis of Nutwood replied to Grover's topic in Guilds of Historica
I was not expecting this at all. Yet, I'm hooked in Bob's storyline like no other! Lovely to develop some knowledge on Bob's experience. He brings a touch of modern with a glimpse of curiosity and a certain punch of comedy. Much deserved and welcomed in the Guilds. Cool work with the fearsome ambiance of Nocturnus. The colors are so unnatural and work beautifully together, creating a very imaginative forest. Cool entry and awesome stretch for the category, sire Grover. Skol!- 12 replies

May the 4th be in Hoth. There we stood, watching the white veil that covered the ground up until the horizon, where a frozen mist overshadowed our destinies. For a moment, the world stood still before the earth began to shake beneath our feet, one stomp at a time. Numb fingers tightened around my blaster, waiting for the inevitable unknown. And from behind the pale clouds, a four-legged monster with blazing eyes and metal skin appeared to the sound of “open fire!”. But soon we realized the walker came in a heard. Even though they took their time moving across the snow, the sharp sound of thrusters crossed the battlefield as speeder bikes rushed towards the first line of trenches where we hold. I emptied my blaster and a sea of blowing bolts tainted the snow red, while our brothers prayed in silence. “May the force, be with us. May the 4th be in Hoth, today.” ________ Louis of Nutwood Happy Star Wars day, folks!

GOH Anniversary, 1st count down challenges.
Louis of Nutwood replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ooh, Thor All-Mighty! Strike your hammer and wake us up! The challenges are back! I’ll scratch the dust out of me beard and clean me working place for it is time to build again. Oooh, to rampage into the exciting world that is to put brick on top of brick and tell the tales of the old and the new. Pheew! I needed this. Odin knows how much I needed this. So, just to be clear: This first round with two categories is: Due May 31st? No size limits for both cats? Are we allowed to submit more than one build per cat? Are we allowed to build for both cats? Oooh, the glory! The excitement! The anticipation of a new building day! Skol, Guild Members! May a strike of creativity and inspiration shine upon us all. -
Dragon Attack on the Village Outskirts
Louis of Nutwood replied to mrcp6d's topic in Guilds of Historica
Absolutely love it, mate! The Mitgardian setting is instantly recognizable. The snow, the timber, the stone.. Nice work with the trees, I love the whole environment with the stream and the bridge combining the viking-like house. And that Large-Maw Wyvern.. pheew! What a fearsome beast! I applaud your work on the custom wings, the color blocking is fantastic, the poseable legs are perfect, and that head is so cool! Amazing work. I also like how all the peasants and guards seem to be frightened, running all around, afraid of the dragon. Loving the action, here. And, man! That tilted boat is a terrific touch. Great entry, sir MRCP! It is always a thrill to see more of this vast land called Mitgardia. Skol! -
[MOC] The Black Dragon, Svart Dyr
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you so much, MRCP! It's always a thrill to receive an appraisal from a builder you admire. Thanks, bud! I wish I'd seen your similar build. Now I'm darn curious! I'm glad you mentioned the head and the fire effect, which are two achievements I'm proud of. I did struggle with the fire effect -- a lot of trial an error with a particularly limited amount of trans-orange pieces. Hence, the rather slim middle flame. The tree is binging me chills, really. It's the only part I'm not happy with, and I can see how un-textured it is. I think it serves its point, to fill that part of the build, but looking back I wished I'd done something more creative. Thanks again for the support, bud! Skol! -
[MOC] The Black Dragon, Svart Dyr

Thanks for stopping by, Niku! I'm thrilled you like the action in here. Skol, my friend! -
This looks simply phenomenal, Aurore! I'm in love with this woodwork. Very Danish and very Mitgardian. The timber mix on the walls running horizontally and vertically are amazing! I'm impressed with the reading area on the second floor. Northmen and women must study western customs, aye. Those tooth candles are outstanding, too. And the fact that the hearths light up is jaw-dropping. Skol, Lady Aurore, for an amazing looking hall so far!

[MOC] The Black Dragon, Svart Dyr
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hahah. Love it. You can tell where a dragon comes from by the size of his tummy. Thanks for the support, manwithbeard! Skol! -
Lovely work, SIr Kahir! I love the mix of tudor and stone tower. Great work with the uneven base and nice after effects in the darkened night pics. That roof is impressive! I like the birch tree and the bushy foliage, too. And I'm loving the whole action with the pigs! Skol!

Even in the cold mountains of the North, I'm panting! Can one person alone with a billion free-builds face an entirety of armies all across the map? This is history being written right here. Enjoy! For I fear we might not see a free-build period as long as the one we just had. I cannot wait to see the scoreboard.

[MOC] The Black Dragon, Svart Dyr
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'm very pleased you liked it, sir Luke. It warms my cold heart to know this beast of a dragon has been so well received, even if it has destroyed many a villages in the North. Its fire breath was a challenge to take, but I'm relieved we lived through it. As for the trees that surround and protect us, I'm happy you liked this one, for, I confess, I'm not particularly happy with. But, hey! Thank you for your much welcomed support, mate. During these hard times, we must stick together with our fellow northerners. Skol, brother! -
[Freebuild] Out Through the Market
Louis of Nutwood replied to The Stad's topic in Guilds of Historica
Oh boy oh boy. This looks great! The statue is just phenomenal, but the overall feel of a crowded market square is fantastic. Amazing work with the vegetation pieces and minifig posing. And to see the beautiful yellow and green pattern to splash the base only gives me that sensation of coming home.. Awesome job, The Stad! Skol! -
[MOC] The Black Dragon, Svart Dyr
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
This is why I crave for you thorough, fully detailed and sensitive feedbacks, Sire Grover! During the last additions to the build occurred to me the thought that "wow! I'm using almost every shade of green there is in LEGO". It wasn't intentional, but only gave me some interesting fact about the build. And I'm thrilled you noticed it too. Thank you for mentioning many of the aspects that bring me joy about this MOC. And about the dragon, @Henjin_Quilones is most definitely a huge inspiration. I'm happy you guys liked this beast-from-the-darkness, here! Cheers, sire Grover! Always much appreciated! I'm thrilled you liked it, Kai. Thanks for mentioning the tooth-eye! There was a lot of trial and error going on in that dragon-head. As of the wings, I'm just happy they stood still for the picture. Skol, mate! Hahah. I'm flattered with your polite rephrasing, DeRaven! I recognize the three deserves a bit more attention, though. Thanks for the trouble of coming back for a second look. I really appreciate it. Thanks for the support, man. Cheers! Lady Aurore, what a pleasure to have you here! I'm honored you liked this wholesome creature and its brick-built wings. Since you are a master in landscape-vegetation building, it really means a lot you like this smelly swamp. Thanks for the Mitgardian support! Skol! Thank you so much for the appraisal, Sir Fletcher. I must say again how impressed I am with all your entries to the CCC, both in quantity and in quality. It means a lot that you liked this humble creation, as I'm very pleased with the result as well. I did try for something with a lot of action, and I'm glad you captured the intention. Cheers, my friend! And thank you all for the kind words! -
This is just phenomenal! Color scheme is spot on, I love the roundness of the columns, the tile pattern is fantastic, the texture is amazing. The work of balance on top of the towers is very cool! It's inspiring how one can build something amazing in a reduced space. Amazing work, man!
