[AoM: Stables - Phase I] Wash away
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for the comment and support, Sir Isaac. I must agree that the contrast is not the most natural, but there are obscure regions in Mitgardia that lack the natural element and fool the travelers - and one needs to find excuses to put their bricks to use. Glad you liked the swamp and the packs, sire. Skol! -
Greetings, fellow builders! This should be a formidable challenge to explore the mysteries beyond the sea. I'm looking for a handful of fearless builders willing to rewrite Varlyrian History with gut-twisting, mind-blowing and awe-inspiring builds. I urge you, Mitgardians all around, to come forth and report for duty, for this is an opportunity like no other. If glory is what you seek, and the chance to fight another battle, this is your time. This is OUR time. The moment has come for us to earn a spot at Odin's table and feast with our ancestors in Valhalla. You, traveler, who's not yet part of a team, let me be the axe and shield to protect your back, and together, we will make our ways into this mighty challenge. Contact me in me shack or by letter or mail, if a cold-hearted builder from the North is what you seek, and I shall step up and attend your prayer. This job has no pay, beside the thrill of putting brick atop of brick - in case you wonder.

[Freebuild - Mitgardia] Dilapidated Church
Louis of Nutwood replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Guilds of Historica
Beautiful build. You can really see the scars that came over time. Would love to see it rebuilt into a fortified structure, used to prevent invasions. Great work, mate. -
Beautiful design, ActionFigure. I love how you left the open studs to add texture to the hedgehog’s fur (spines?) The way the animal poses (just as well as the other ones you build) is just magnificent. It feels like it is moving across the yard, very naturally. Indeed, another incredible creation. Cheers! And keep it up.

[MOC] Stag in the shadows
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi, Sunhuntin! I’m thrilled you and your partners liked my construction, and I’m flattered you’d want display it. I do not have instructions, unfortunately, as I built it from scratch, with the pieces I had available. However, if you wish to have step-by-step building instructions, I would happily work on them digitally, and send you a link along with parts used. It will probably take me a few days, though. So I hope you are not in desperate need of them right away. If you have the patience to wait a few days, I’ll certainly get to it. Is that ok? Thank you for the support once again. Cheers! Thanks, Justspb! I’m glad you liked it, as I certainly enjoyed building it. Thanks for the support.- 24 replies

Thank you, ActionFigure! I'm happy you liked the build - specially coming from such an expert in realistic-animal building. I didn't know your page, and am really astonished, admiring your MOCs. Incredible work! As for the story, it might have worked better during October, maybe? Thanks for the support, mate. Thanks, man! I'm thrilled you liked it. Thank you for the support, PeaBrain!- 24 replies

Thanks, man! I’m glad you liked it. Especially in black, taking good photos can be really challenging, but I’m quite happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for the support, mate!- 24 replies

Outstanding work, as always, Pantelis. Absolutely love the houses by the shore. The blue studs spilled (and thoughtfully arranged) as water are amazing too. Beautiful assemble for the boat, too. Keep it up!

Thanks, mate. Yeah, it feels great to adventure through different styles every now and then. I wasn't use to anything outside the medieval-castle themes, but I'm quite happy with the result. Glad you liked it, lad. Cheers!- 24 replies

I woke from a restless sleep to a shrieking sound coming from the outside my window. Silver lights cast somber shadows over the walls surrounding my bed, as the blanket tightened between my fingers and covered my trembling chest. There, I saw. Boned hooves drifted across the wooden floor, and from behind a cold cloud of breath, it stared through my eyes and into my soul. From under tangled horns raised to the sky, its rigid snout pointed at me, as if defying my senses, challenging me to speak up or move away. I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. Staring into the eyes of darkness, I shivered back to sleep, knowing it would hunt me still. ________ This is an entry for Week I of the Style it Up Contest by InnovaLug. The proposition was to build something using only one color. I took this opportunity to build outside of my usual castle-medieval theme. Also, make sure to check my other entries for this contest:Week II: Self PortraitWeek III: Social distancing countermeasuresWeek IV: Yet to come Hope you like it.

Outstanding work, mate. I love the attention you put in the texture. This thing is tall! Nice castle-colors, and the roofs are very well done. I also like the wizard's cart, and it's always a pleasure to see a gren-dragon-faction construction. Keep it up!
-
Very interesting design. I really like the movable landing gear. I can easily see it as an official set. The trans-green tubes connecting the cockpit to the wings are my favorite details. Unique modeling - keep it up, man!
-
Beautiful work! The hydraulics are sweet, the cockpit is very unique (I like the use of the black protection), and the flamethrower (plus water?) - specially with the cylinders on top, is a great addition. Awesome job, mate.
-
Nice unusual colors for the vegetation, mate. Beautiful flock of sheep as well! The loose studs are a nice addition and the tree looks rather unique in grey. The farmer (?) taking the sheep seems like he's had enough, though.
-
This is absurd, Aurore. The color scheme is perfect, but the addition of the celtic knot and the carved dragon head above the entrance are absolutely fabulous. Great to see the architect and her companion on duty. Can't wait to see the final result.
-
The tree trunks absolutely blew my mind! Beautiful splash of colors and intelligent architectural choices. The fantasy-feeling of Zamorah always grabs my attention and curiosity. The bridge us very unique, and that cottage with the two trucks standing by the entrance is astonishing. Also, the variety for Zamorah's vegetation is splendid! Any enthusiast or scholar of the natural environment would have their hands full, here (@Aurore). Outstanding work, mate. Always a joy to lose myself in the marvelous streets of Zamorah.

Impressive work, fellow Mitgardian Wallace. A beautiful castle with an exquisite watchtower. The base looks phenomenal - your snow-work is improving fast! And I like the fading between tan and dark tan before reaching the white slopes for the snow. Great addition of the transparent plates as ice hanging from the trees. The roof technique is beautiful too, but that interior steals the show. I can see the @soccerkid6 Snyder inspiration, here. It's a joy to see so much effort put in the interior - color, movement and purpose on the whole build. Amazing work, Sire Wallace. Another proud construction standing in the cold mountains. Only wished to have read a backstory for this mysterious lonely keep.
-
Splendid bridge, sire. The architects in Mophet must have been inspired! It takes a lot of patience to put this many clips together PLUS the bars. Beautiful vegetation spreading and hanging from the bridge. Excellent work all around. Photography is very good too! The fading effect on the edges works great here. The only thing is that the base is a bit bent over. Have you considered adding a base or frame? Cheers, mate.

CHALLENGE IV: Category B: Fishing in Valnötsträd
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, Sir Isaac! I tried to include brighter colors as the scene is supposed to be a good memoir. I'm glad you liked it - especially now that you're a part of the one company that binds all of us together. Cheers, sir Isaac. It's an honor to have a Mitgardian in such a distinguished position. -
SUCH an inspiration for all of us depicting Mitgardians in our builds. The use of Chima torsos is phenomenal, here. Each minifigure is very unique on its own and perfectly fitting in Mitgardian settings. The Pathfinder, the Marksman and the Ice Mage are three of my favorites. Absolutely beautiful choices, Lady Aurore. Keep up the good work in expanding our Mitgardian Encyclopedia. Skol!

[AoM: House - Phase I] The Valley
Louis of Nutwood replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, The Stad, for your kind words. I'm happy you liked the builds, and glad the story kept you engaged to the finish. Cheers! Thank you, Sire Lucky Luke! I'm glad you mentioned each build and pointed out a few things that you liked - as for the tree on the first build, I'm with you. I'm not the biggest fan of that tree, but at least the thunder steals the focus of the MOC, right? Thanks for the support, mate! -
[AoM: House - Phase I] The Valley

I go back and check the HSS every now and then, just to make sure I'm running in the right direction. Until now, I do have what is necessary to call it a village, but there's true potential to get to a town level. I agree! It's a great way to keep track of what's needed in a settlement to call home. 2020 should be the year I finally finish it. Cheers! Thanks, Kai! Your evaluation really means a lot, so I'm glad this little tale grabbed your attention. Your encouragement to maintain a lengthier story is also a boost to continue writing. Thanks for all the support, mate. And I'm glad you pointed some aspects I really like in each build. Cheers, man! Thank you, sire Grover! Point for the writers team! Your lengthier tales are certainly an inspiration to keep coming up with more robust stories. I'm glad you liked the builds, especially the first one that took me some out-of-the-box planning. Thanks for the support, sir. And congrats on the trophy for the last challenge! YES, that's what I went for. But I definitely agree that this sentence could have been written differently for better understanding. "ITS" clearly must replace "It's" and I'd go for "muddied" too. Thanks for the eye-opening, Sire Navarre. You are absolutely right, Deraven. I'm thrilled you liked the story and, although a little too dramatic, I'm glad you maintained your interest in reading it through. Not at all discouraging, Grover. In fact, I encourage your honest evaluations and critiques, as they make us all better writers and builders. But it surely warms my heart (and fingers) to know such great writer enjoys reading through my tales. Thanks, really, for all your help, guys. I only hope the stories and creative sharing will gradually improve through our community. Cheers!
