Some are, every bit counts, and some are worse. I mainly compared the light blue gray plates, bricks, and alot of high volume number parts that I wanted to be new for sure. And then compared those to some of the better deals on BL. Ended up getting about 95 elements for a little more than a third of my total cost. I think I hit a max, as eventually it stopped letting me add, so I ordered what I had at the time. The waiting is brutal though. They were backordered, now in the warehouse at least, but will be weeks before I see them for sure. But I did get free shipping, and a gwp. :)

Im in the same boat, 8 Bricklink orders, and one Pick a Brick (which is going to take forever!) Using the parts from 75292 and not building the stand to try and help costs, but still cost me $600. Had to scour many a stores to get it to that level. Now the waiting.........

Thanks so much!

For those have have built this, or the master Jerac himself. Is there a difference in using the thicker 28974 part, versus the thinner 42446? I am hoping the 42446 works because it is the last pieces I need, and 28974 is nowhere to be found!

Man that thing is beautiful! Especially after seeing it next to the official set! I thought I could live with the official set, because the MOC's cost so much, but I think I need to start saving......

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
Frizzlefry25 replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Definitely can vary for sure. I built his Tie Silencer for around $300, the U-Wing was closer to $400-450, and K2 was about $425. He typically builds with pieces that are more common, however that can change. But between taking your time, or swapping some colors out that may not matter, you can safe a few $$. Each MOC is different though, and everyone has a max budget. If I can't do them for $500 or less I have to stay away, or else face the wrath of my wife! lol! -

R2, will be the first re-release of a UCS for me as well. I was very happy to get the Falcon, Y-Wing, SD, and Snow Speeder, because I missed out on those before, and because the newer models looked to be superior. My hope is it won't be that much of an improvement, as I don't think I would ever double dip. If it is amazing...... Trying not to think about it! -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Wow, those are skippable for sure, although Hogsmeade looks interesting. I am not sure where those other sets are supposed to fit in? We have the microscale, and then the rebooted scale starting in 2018, and now what retroscale? Even put together they look incomplete, and as they are anniversary, you would assume they wont add to them. Just not sure who these are for? My daughters have been collecting all the sets the last few years, but I showed these to them, and they are not interested. They were hoping for something to add to the existing sets, or Diagon Alley. Guess I get to save for myself this year! -

They could be wrong but it makes sense, even at that price. It's just a wider, thicker, and taller vehicle compared to an X-Wing, Y-Wing, A-wing, or Snowspeeder. A really good system scale version, would probably be $140-$200, so if they do a true UCS its going to be more substantial and put it into that $350 range. I mean look at the AT-AT. System scale $160, UCS maybe $800? I would have thought a $350-400 version would be plenty, but evidently we need more $800 sets! LOL! -

I am happy to stay with Raskolnikovs Plus size AT-AT MOC, only 2500 parts, much better than any of the regular released AT-AT's, and way cheaper than a $800 one! After the falcon and SD, I am done with sets of that cost! -

I am hesitant as well, but it would fit the price. I can't think of anything else that would. Again hypothetical, if they did make a 11,000 Death Star, do you think they would try a colosseum route? Smaller detailed pieces making a more model version of the death star? Or stay with a bigger hybrid MBS style playset of the past? -

If this does come to fruition, Lego sure is crushing the biggest piece count! The Falcon had the title for three years, and then the Colosseum gets the title for 6 months?! What's next, a 15,000 piece SSD?! -

Yikes, I will have to tap out on the UCS this year. It was one thing to drop some $$$ on the UCS Falcon and Star Destroyer (because I missed out on the originals) and they are so Iconic. But I cant think of another vehicle that I would spend that kind of money on. Plus, it is one thing to get a set like that once every 3-5 years, but man there seems to be alot of big sets in multiple themes in the $350+ range lately. I mean how many people can get them all?!!! You can still get an $800 falcon, a $700 SD, and a $350 Mos Eisley, a retiring $500 Death Star, and now another $800 is coming? -
Constant Evolution, whatever could it be?!! I have never come close to guessing correctly, I am not starting now.
-
That is a tough question! All of the builds are fantastic, and use amazing building techniques. Your communication, instructions, and dedication truly made all of these feel like building UCS lego sets. But if I had to choose, I would have to say the U-Wing is my favorite! Mainly because the engines are so cool, and the U-Wing itself is a vehicle I have loved since they first put in on screen. Even though it is not as old, I feel it is iconic like the X-wing. It brings a smile to my face daily. :) All the best Mirko!

Last of my pieces finally came on Friday, and I was able to complete this amazing MOC! Thanks Mirko! I have built three of your creations now. They all have been an enjoyable experience, and look amazing! I am still blown away, just looking at this thing! All the best!

Holy crap! Maybe I should of read the details more carefully before I started building this beast! The wife will not be happy with the size of this guy! But after building the U-wing and Silencer, I shouldn't have been surprised! Looking forward to my last few part deliveries so I can get started with the rest of you. :)

Thanks so much!

Any chance you could let me know the ballpark the parts cost you? I know Mirko always does a great job trying to use widely available pieces, I am hoping the damage is not too bad!

Woohoo! Can't wait! Ordering Now!

So was the lightsaber only available with the purchase of the UCS Cantina as a GWP, or could also be bought as a VIP? I had no interest in the Cantina, not sure about the lightsaber, but definitely don't like this new trend of GWP disappearing instantly and being even more limited to a single item. Hagrid and Buckbeak sold out fast too, but at least that was $100 purchase, instead of one single item. -

Man, 14 days but DA finally arrived! Who knew it took so long from Chicago to California! But with everything going on, I am just glad it made it in one piece! If only it would have arrived on the weekend, now more waiting.....
