  1. Actually I’m pretty sure it’s June 1st - hence the high saturation of leaks
  2. Of course this happens the day my sister visits the Lego store but I stay home because I’m sick. I’ll have to make a trip myself once I’ve stopped coughing.
  3. Yes, there have been 8 CMFs since Disney series 1: 3 unlicensed, 4 for Lego movies, and the Wizarding World one. My point was that without any prospective Lego movies to take up 80% of the licensed series, we’ll likely get a possible series 3 quicker than last time - although it’s likely that a WW series 2 will come first (not that I’m complaining about that :) )
  4. To be honest, I think one of the biggest reasons it took so long to get series 2 is because in the intervening 3 years there have been 3 Lego movies, totaling 4 licensed CMFs between them. That’s half the CMFs for the past 3 years, but with no immediately scheduled plans for another Lego movie there will undoubtedly be more opportunities for different licensed series.
  5. Well the cmf coming out next month is the 2nd Disney one, and presumably in the fall we get this year’s unlicensed series. So yeah, 2020 at the earliest. But I suspect Lego will do it as soon as possible - the first one was insanely popular after all.
  6. Oh, I agree we don’t need any Pirates of the Caribbean characters in a Disney cmf, but I wouldn’t mind some other classic live action movie characters, like Mary Poppins.
  7. Probably :/ seeing as so far between 2 series we haven’t gotten a single live action movie character
  8. It does take money and time though to set up a new production line, even if you’re using existing molds and plastics. I think I read in an interview about last year’s sets that it costs the same to make a mold in a new color as it does to make a new print.
  9. Remember, calling Buckbeak a chicken gets you cut ??? That being said, it’s not just Buckbeak and the stag (although both are fairly large and complicated molds and the stag is in a pretty rare color). We’ve also got new torso prints for basically everyone, new heads for just as many characters as those who are reusing heads, at least three hairstyles in new colors, new dragon elements and quite likely a new dog. And that’s just the stuff we know about. There’s quite likely some new molds and/or new colored elements that make up the actual builds which we haven’t got much information on yet. If nothing else, there are probably plenty of automotive parts made for speed champions and such that will be made in purple for the first time with the Knight Bus. There’s still a lot we don’t know, but I think what we’ve seen so far is pretty awesome.
  10. It bears noting that the only minifigures we haven’t had any parts leak for yet are Hermione and Ron in thier Yule Ball robes. Given how iconic those two outfits are I wouldn’t be surprised if Lego made extra sure those ones didn’t leak - to sweeten the big reveal. (They managed to keep Lupin and the Dementor under wraps last year after all)
  11. No rumors have been going around about it BUT I have seen people say there are going to be 8 minifigures in the set - and so far we only know 7 (Harry, Hermione, Ron, Fleur, Krum, Dumbledore and Maxime). It could be that the 8 fig count was a mistake in the places I saw it, but if there is a final character, Cedric would make sense, plus he wears the same outfit as Harry, so we wouldn’t necessarily get noticeable leaks. If nothing else, it should be easy to moc a Yule Ball Cedric.
  12. If anything, the set pics for Batman coming out a month early means the Harry Potter ones are more likely to come closer to May. They won’t want the hype from one to detract from the hype for the other. Edit: on a side note, I might need to get my hands on the Riddler’s lime green bowler hat and take the question mark off so I can make a book accurate Fudge
  13. It also helps that the mold for Hades’ head already existed. Plus, the team that puts together the CMFs is clearly a sucker for swords and other weapons, so Hercules is something they’d definitely love (honestly so do I. I’m not a huge fan of the movie but I’m seriously considering picking up those 2 characters just because I love their designs)
  14. Interesting to know that the Duck Triplets’ hats are separate from thier heads.
  15. Ooo... Jafar’s cape is double sided. Kind of disappointed Elsa’s isn’t sheer though. Still love the printing on it. Pretty sure it’s just the angle they’re at relative to the camera.
  16. I’m actually shocked that something as spectacular as that stag patronus and Sirius are coming in just a $15 set. I can only assume that they managed to squeak two other minifigures in there by virtue of the fact that they’re already in other sets. It’s definitely going to outsell last year’s $15 price point set.
  17. The first wave did really well from what I’ve heard, so there’s a decent chance a third wave has already been slated. (And if we’re really lucky a cmf series 2 is in the works) If this year’s wave does just as well (or even better - something tells me the patronus set is going to be much more popular than Aragog) we might convince Lego to continue on to at least a 4th wave, ensuring at least a decent representation of sets for all 8 movies. I think what I’m looking forward to most is seeing all the characters and locations that got skimmed over because the last 4 movies didn’t have thier own properly fleshed out waves. Order members like Tonks and Kingsley. Alternative outfits for Luna and Neville. Even Ginny and the twins don’t really get to work the spotlight until movie 5 and on. Plus, I’m really looking forward to a system scale Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes. (And fingers crossed for a Gringott’s Escape set with the guard Dragon - you can never have enough Dragons)
  18. There isn’t one for the Lego Movie 2 series either, so it would seem they’ve learned a lesson about frustrating fans. It’s interesting that there are only 2 each of the Duck Triplets.
  19. This is true. Personally, I also find it easier to type out ‘Ducktales characters’ rather than ‘Scrooge McDuck and the Duck triplets’. Just takes less time when I’m trying to write out a thought.
  20. Yes. The dog could theoretically be Fang or Padfoot, since both of them play roles in the particular scene Lego is going for. But I think more people are hoping for Fang, because it would mean a new mastiff mold.
  21. It does bear mentioning that the original Shrieking Shack back in 2004 included the Werewolf head and dog figure for Lupin and Sirius despite neither being shown transforming in the actual scene. This is understandable in a set made pre-movie release, but with Lego’s current deference to screen accuracy in the new sets, it poses the question of whether a new Shrieking Shack would have any exclusives at all. They’ll probably make one eventually, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it got lumped into a Hogsmeade D2C.
  22. Ooo... I still have my tiny Knight Bus from back then. I’ve got in displayed beside the micro scale Hogwarts and Diagon Alley from last year. It really is a nice little build, and from what I remember back in ‘04 those purple bricks were super hard to get ahold of. I certainly wouldn’t mind more polybags like that.
  23. Yes! That’s one of the most notable things about the 2010-11 wave for me. All of the remake sets, or the ones based off already released moves, were significantly closer to screen accurate compared to previous waves. And the 2 Deathly Hallows part 2 sets that were released before the movie came out in the summer? Clearly the least screen accurate. It definitely shows. So when I look at just how much effort went into making last wave extremely accurate, it really makes me excited at how much better the sets to come are going to be.
  24. True, but Lego seems particularly resistant to making those in any other color for some reason. Also, as demonstrated by Frank, the right construction can make those joints easier to overlook.
  25. To be fair, one of the biggest things that make Ninjago dragons looks so robotic is the silly blades for wings. With Lego being pretty conscious about screen accuracy for the Harry Potter sets, I can’t see them cutting corners like that, so we’ll likely get molded wings like we did for Frank and the occamy. As seen with those two, molded heads and wings go a long way to making brick built creatures look less mechanical.
