  1. Oh I agree - any Harry fig will be desirable, it’s just a matter of finding one that’s actually unique and won’t crop up in potential future sets. Harry has a pretty limited wardrobe after all, but from what I remember the plain hoodie he wears in the scene where Snape catches him with the map doesn’t really make an appearance on its own in any other action scenes. His outfit for the Slug Club Christmas party could work too I suppose, but I’d rather they save it for when they could release Luna in her dress alongside it (and let’s face it, we’d all rather see her in ravenclaw robes or her lion headdress in the next cmf).
  2. The Monster Book of Monsters only appeared in 2 sets back in 2004: the big castle set and Draco’s Encounter with Buckbeak. Considering all 3 PoA sets we’ve got this time feature scenes where the book isn’t present it’s really no surprise they didn’t bother with a new one. The old Marauders map tile cropped up as an accessory in several sets after its introduction though, so I can’t imag it will go unmade for long. It would also make an excellent accessory for a CMF figure (especially since I’d previously been scratching my head over how they’d make the requisite casual clothes Harry a desirable fig in a potential series 2).
  3. I think some of the City sets are marked as coming in late June? But yeah it’s super weird that the Harry Potter sets aren’t on the US website at all yet, despite most of the other June-August sets being there.
  4. You’re probably in a country that incorporates the tax into the list price then. Here in the US we have to calculate that ourselves or be surprised when they gouge it out of us at the register.
  5. My point wasn’t ‘this Creator set and the Harry Potter line are the same’ - it’s more ‘several sets being released from June - August have recently been put up on the US Lego site. The Harry Potter sets are not. The only other set I know of like this is X. It’s all really weird.’ (Seriously though there are several sets marked Coming Soon - August 1st that were recently uploaded onto the US website, so even if the Harry Potter sets have been delayed until then here we should theoretically be seeing them. Their lack of presence on the site is just prolonging the confusion on when they really come out.)
  6. The new Creator Expert Moon Lander is coming out June 1st and it’s not on the US website either so... I think the only thing to gather is that the website’s unorganized.
  7. It’s been speculated on yes, but none of the pictures we have show thier faces.
  8. The new leaked pictures do give us a look at the interior though - only seems to fit one minifigure but it’s better than I expected. It also shows that they’ve made a special printed tile for the plaque that’s on the lander leg, which to me is a good omen for realistic heads.
  9. I think the partially brick built method would work with the basalisk, Grawp and the Ukrainian Ironbelly (Gringott’s dragon), but I think the troll and Fluffy are in that in between size where you can brick build them but they look so much better molded, like Buckbeak. Fawkes straight up needs to be molded - I have the 2002 Chamber of Secrets and the Fawkes from that is so much better than the little brick built thing we got last year in the Great Hall it’s not even funny.
  10. The way I see it, several large creatures got omitted because they didn’t have the mold budget for them in the first wave. Fluffy, the troll, Fawkes and the Basalisk. Not to mention the second task in this wave, which I think got passed over because new merfolk tails, Krum’s shark head, and possibly grindylows would be adding too much mold budget to a wave that already has two large creatures. Whether or not Lego will come back to do these sets is up for debate, but I think there’s a higher chance of them happening the longer the theme keeps going. Which means supporting the theme by buying the current sets and letting Lego know how much we like them through web platforms.
  11. Yes. This is actually why I want next year’s big castle section to be based around the DA patronus lesson in particular. It’s got the potential for all four houses’ uniform torsos and some more trans blue animals, plus it’s an iconic scene which stars pretty much all the main characters and fan favorites and then some. (And in contrast, I can’t think of a HBP scene which would allow them to really go to town with the uniforms.)
  12. Well let’s see... - the OotP themed Hogwarts Castle and then from the 2010-11 wave: - the Burrow - Battle of Hogwarts - Forbidden Forest Confrontation and HBP elements included in - the 2010 Hogwarts - 2010 Hogwarts Express - Diagon Alley D2C - and maybe 2010 Hagrid’s Hut So that’s about 8 sets, and half of them have specific elements from other movies. Plus there were about 14 new characters introduced in the 2010-11 wave and only 4 of them were introduced in OotP or later. Yeah, the later movies got screwed over. I’m really looking forward to seeing the next two waves of sets based off them, and as far as minifigures go I’m really looking forward to finally getting Tonks and Kingsley.
  13. It really depends on who you ask. I remember when I was looking for the new Disney cmf on the day it released - I went to a barnes and noble that the website said had it stock, but couldn’t find the box on any of the shelves. Asked an employee and he claimed they couldn’t have it in ‘because he knows everything that comes in.’ Either the store missed their shipment and the website didn’t get the message or the guy was just patronizing me because he didn’t want to check the stockroom. Either way asking employees at a local store isn’t foolproof.
  14. I can’t understand why everyone’s so worked up about the release dates because we don’t actually have official confirmation of the US release dates yet. Yes, the Harry Potter sets aren’t on the USA s@h site yet, but neither is the new Creator Expert Lunar Module, which is definitely getting a June 1st release date in the US. People need to calm down and take the rumors with a grain of salt until they get confirmed by something other than hearsay.
  15. If the patch is an exclusive GWP like the Ford Mustang I wonder why we haven’t gotten an promos for it yet. How far ahead of the Mustang release did they start pushing the keychain promo? Edit: just checked my inbox and the first VIP email I have about the mustang came on February 22nd. Guess we could be getting word any day now if it’s the same type of promo.
  16. Seeing rumors of an embroidered patch GWP for the Lunar Module set.
  17. I’d be absolutely overjoyed if we got a pack with Angelina, Alicia and Katie (a day one buy for sure) but Cormac? Ugh no, contributes even less to the movie than he does to the book. The licensed packs often seem to have only 3 characters, and even if you can fit a fourth, I’d prefer Demelza Robins or a Weasley. That being said, I’m definitely not holding out too much hope for full Quidditch packs for each house. The most I’ll wish for is a Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw one (and I’ll be pleasantly surprised and completely overjoyed if we get more).
  18. I’ve been hoping for the Quidditch one since the Quidditch Match set came out with the tiles to put Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff on the scoreboard. The student and Death Eater packs would be useful too. Plus, the newest Spider-Man and Ninjago packs show that Lego is definitely willing to put unique and desirable characters in these packs.
  19. I had noticed that the packaging of the ‘Battle Packs’ has been updated. It looks like instead of the minifigures being preassembled in little custom vacuformed slots, we now get all the parts and pieces (including the side builds) in one big minifigure shaped cell. It’s clearly designed to streamline the production process, and I have been wondering if that means Lego is planning on producing more of that kind of pack in the future.
  20. Speaking of the bricktober packs, are there any rumors that Lego is continuing that style of promotion? I remember last year’s packs leaking around this time of year so I’m kind of curious.
  21. That didn’t make it happen this wave and I doubt it’s going to change next year. Personally, as the final four movies were unquestionably screwed over with set representation during the first run through of the theme, I don’t really want anything from previous movies stealing space in thier waves. That being said, I have no doubt that when the end of the year rolls around we’ll get plenty of fake leaks talking about a Chamber set, just like we did for this wave.
  22. Given that pretty much every single system scale Lego vehicle or structure I’ve ever come across faces the problem of to scale exterior = too small interior, I doubt it as well. It’s possible that the hatch will work and they might even have a feature where you can open it up and see the control panels on the inside, but I can’t imagine both minifigures will fit in there.
  23. Yes it looks awesome! And I’ve started seeing that new logo around on nasa stuff recently (actually saw it for the first time at the JPL open day) so it’s clearly something they’ve officially coordinated with nasa. Can’t wait to see if the minifigure heads look like (here’s hoping for something unique).
  24. I think an Apollo 13 theme might be a little far fetched considering the rumors only say we’re getting an LM, suggesting an actual landing. Plus, I think it’s been mentioned before but this year is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, which might be what prompted a LM Creator set in the first place. I definitely agree with you on wanting flesh tones for the potential Armstrong/Aldrin figs though, and it would be super cool if they printed on the ‘Snoopy caps’ that the astronauts wore under thier helmets.
