  1. thank you!
  2. thank you!
  3. In many places the tenders from old steam locomotives where converted to snowploughs. since my layout is winter themed and it is winter currently i decided to build one: the tender before the conversion. the attached shovel is used to shovel coal. the other side. the middle axle is able to shift sideways to negotiate curves. ...and now after the conversion. the tender was repainted and now features air tanks to be able to swivel the snowploughs blades via pneumatics. the very same shovel is now used to shovel snow from switches and stuff... the color sceme is the one from my ski resort, the model is inspired by the 3axle tender of the german br24 steam locomotive: similar to this but with the air tanks and bigger plough from the "klima Schneepflug" style ones: hope you like this one and if you want to build it yourself the stud.io file is in the link in my signature.
  4. kinda reminds me of this:
  5. there is only one word to describe this: gorgeous!
  6. thats really cool!
  7. what hardware do you use to drive the motor?
  8. There is only one word to describe this: AWESOME!
  9. kind of a mix between the older blue tram and the newer orange one. nice.
  10. i managed to put magnetic couplers on but i dont know if articulation is enough. stud.io file can be found under the link in my signature.
  11. if you open up a powered up hub a 9v battery might fit into the cab and the hub pcb should fit into the hood thus making a working locomotive even without 9v.
  12. nice model. you are really good at all scales!
  13. first attempt and a win right away? good work!
  14. congrats on the win! did a good job. have fun with those switches!
  15. fully agreed. the two months period is nice for us. both the people building physically aswell as just in general being able to have more time.
  16. congratulatins!
  17. congrats to all the winners!
  18. that is true although i was thinking more about an exaggeration to the size difference when building larger trains in a larger scale. i know european ones will look smaller at the same scale.
  19. i think you converted me. doesnt look that bad (r40 is the only bad looking thing and that cant be avoided). makes sense for the bigger us locomotives. for european ones i think the smaller scale is better though.
  20. the issue with the minifig is that it is too fat for its height. so you have to make a compromise. can you show me pictures how big a normal sized train is at that scale.
  21. is too big imho.
  22. i am 60km from fürth/nuremberg but dont have time to go sadly.
  23. for traction and part of the transmission with these small wheels use a rubber band drive. this one will be a challenge to motorize for shure but never think it is Impossible. wish you good luck!
  24. totally fine. place it wherever.
  25. usually yes but people here dont care. my area is rather rural and people view the concept of cultural appropriation as stupid (i do too, you arent mocking anyone by doing so). i just moc what i find nice. that is usually trains of my region. some are fantasy some are also based off of things in other countries like the monorails in japan and the sidney monorail. so in short no i do not. it isnt harming anyone if i build a japanese monorail in lego. i also wouldnt be upset if you tried your hands on a german prototype.
