  1. Darkwing should be integrated somehow. I know he's disney. I don't care. Find a way. YES. Yes.
  2. That was before the movies gave him the level of mainline popularity and general audience (and parents') view he now has as THE R-rated supehero. That was a PG-13 movie (And they STILL avoided direct tie ins) If that was true, they would already have done it. Again, also true, but lego isn't avoiding making him because of the character's morals. It's about the vulgarity of the content he's now most associated with. Lego's made nazis (albeit not titled as such) as recently as last year, because the set was based on a PG-13 movie.
  3. I gotta stop feeding this, but c'mon. You know this. Someone online saying batman returns is spooky doesn't make it R-rated. It wasn't spooky enough to avoid mcdonalds toys, and while there was backlash at the time it's not nearly as dark as The Batman or the Dark Knight Trilogy. We've been over this a billion times. The difference is the actual rating, not how mature someone thinks it is. Batman returns is PG-13. It can get sets. The Snyder cut is R. It can't. That's good to know- I suppose Asylum or City sets would be possible then. Still don't think they're all that likely- as much as the fans love the arkham games, they don't have the general adult appeal of the films. As for Knight though- that's a hard stop from lego. They don't do explicitly M, R, or TV-MA rated stuff willingly. The Arkham-based suit in the batmobile might be the closest we've gotten, but even then the logo, while pretty similar, doesn't say Arkham.
  4. I posted after seeing the New Elementary article, but I've been having the same issue this past hour. The only new part I can see is Kynes's cape. It does say something to the effect of "sometime may 28th", so it might just not be up quite yet.
  5. And sorry for the double post, but dune parts have been added to pick a brick! the Atreides uniform torso, bene gesserit torso, and atreides armor torso have all been added, as well as Kynes's cape! I might pick up a cape to make mau'dib paul, as well as a couple atreides uniforms. These are better than nothing, but without the molded armor part the armor isn't as helpful, and what I really wanted to be on PAB, the stillsuits, don't seem to be there.
  6. *In Batfleck voice* WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME? The wrath of the Aslume aside, IIRC the games are M rated so lego wouldn't make direct sets. Something like the batsuit design is the most we'd get, and we have gotten it.
  7. Dude we've had this conversation like 50 times. Sure, nothing's 100% impossible, but lego has never willingly made figures or sets based on a TV-MA or R property. Characters even remotely associated with the rating (Daredevil, Punisher, Blade) are relegated to 18+ sets and comic based variants. Deadpool is the very embodiment of vulgarity in superhero content, and his comic suit looks very similar to his movie suit. We've already seen the most they could do for deadpool in the past (because he's popular, so whatever their rules let them do, they'll do it), and that's comic-con exclusive figures that are clearly completely different variants of the character (sheriff, duck). With deadpool 3, a very r-rated movie, including deadpool variants, and comic-con figures gone, even that option's been lost. TLDR No
  8. I would really prefer they don't do this. I really like star wars movies to feel like big events, I don't want them to make them all that frequent. I think one a year was a mistake disney made that led to films like Solo receiving much less attention, and I thought the shows were a great way to tell stories in live action without diminishing the movies. As much as I'd love a few legends based sets, there's so much canon content for lego to try and juggle already. They already have trouble covering just the live-action saga films, to say nothing of the fact that the vast majority of new material isn't covered after a year or so past it's release.
  9. which ironically often get trailers years upon years before release. And the D2Cs specifically, because the more expensive a set is, the bigger discount the knockoff company can apply while still making a profit. Lego makes more profit off a $400 set than a $15 one, as would a knockoff company, so the knockoff companies try to ape more of the larger sets.
  10. I've seen comments saying that the guy who leaked it confirmed the legs were a placeholder, which makes sense considering he also used placeholder hair for Ezra, but I didn't see anything from the guy himself. I do assume that's correct though- they gave him his own arm printing, no way he re-uses legs.
  11. First, thanks for the kind words on the lists- I had been wondering where you were with this thread flaring up again! 1. Completely agree, so long as they're alongside dioramas, not instead of them. Star Wars is developing a bad habit of creating and then quickly dropping new sublines, and the dioramas are excellent. 2. While difficult due to the increased amount of content, I agree. Whenever there are multiple sets in a year from the same battle, or that CAN be from the same battle, interactability should be a feature. 3. While it would be nice, I'm not going to "agree" here, just because with the amount of content, I completely understand why they're having so much trouble getting more niche stuff out there. I'd love more niche ships- but not at the expense of kids being able to buy their x-wings and ties and jedi starfighters. I think the solution is to simply put out more sets. 4. Totally. This brand is massive- and this'll tie into 3- it can afford to produce more sets in general. A good way to do this would be to- while keeping the new may wave of 18+ sets- start up a january wave, and get rid of the weird little march wave with like 3 sets. 5. Yeah, totally agree. For something like the X-wing, when it gets too big, it makes sense to scale it back (2018 to 2021). But the star destroyer should only be made smaller if you're trying to make it more affordable- and they clearly didn't have affordability as a priority with the new one. 6. A lot of this is subjective, but lego's notorious inability to print lighter colors on parts isn't. Fox's torso, all batman and captain america heads, etc. It's a company large enough to afford using a tiny bit more ink on each torso. 7. I actually disagree. Sets should be a good quality, yeah, but things aimed at kids are for kids. They're not supposed to be Hot Toys levels of detailing. 8. I agree, but feel like this sort of cuts into some of your earlier points. Lego can't make all their sets 18+ quality, large amounts of highly detailed minifigs, playability/functionality, and larger than previous ones without drastically increasing the prices. And ironically, my biggest issue with lego right now is that the sets are prohibitively expensive.
  12. I thought the part count was a big enough jump from the previous sets that it implied it just was larger/came with a large sarlacc as mentioned, alongside the what, 7 total figs? That said, I hope the piece count is like 50% towards the sarlacc. If most of it's the skiff, it'll feel oversized, and we've never had a sarlacc build over ~100 pieces before to my knowledge.
  13. No, he's human. The AI this forum gets hit with usually has a malignant purpose, won't say anything negative, and is pretty rudimentary speech-wise. (The star wars threads on the forum gets hit every few months with some random replies to posts, containing an AI paragraph trying to jump from star wars- star wars games - gaming -gambling- a link to a gambling website that's probably also going to give you a virus if you click it. Sometimes the bot accounts will respond to eachother too.) The attention to detail is something truly incredible, you're right. Someone less committed wouldn't have added that film in. For all the jokes with turtle, he does keep the discussion going, which is nice when the theme itself has a foot in the grave.
  14. I love how watchmen 2009 is just randomly there because someone brought up the movie to him earlier. I can't believe I forgot about her. She'll take Lex's spot on my list.
  15. Thank you! Yeah, I thought the jedi vader/palps and sith obi-wan/luke was the main place people went to with the shattered glass idea. Ideally I would have kept the darker colors for the sith and lighter colors for the jedi as well, but at that point the figures would just look too similar. Thank you, it's my favorite as well.
  16. On the world of Tython, birthplace of the Force-users, the Jedi and Sith clash in a final battle for the fate of the galaxy.... Last time I did the singular base display, so here I tried something new- mostly seperate stands for each figure, sort of like the miniatures some games come with. The stands are 94 pieces in total, worst-case scenario (where we count the entire lightning chain towards the part count rather than the ones touching the figures' hands as figure accessories) Here we have the light side: (L-R) Jedi Knight: While he's shown here taking a lightning blast to the arm, the Jedi Knight's bravery knows no bounds. He puts his life on the line to protect his galaxy, leaping into combat with his light broadsword in hand. Jedi Sage: This monk has transcended standard physical combat. Floating in the air, deep in meditiation, eyes closed in concentration, the Jedi Sage's amethyst blade responds to his telekinetic commands, swooping in to block enemy attacks. Jedi Battlemaster: A jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack. But the Jedi Battlemaster understands defeating the sith is key to retaining the balance of the force. Wielding two dual-bladed sabers at once, she whirls into battle against the sith. Luke Skywalker: Saber overflowing with energy, eyes bursting with a green glow, the greatest jedi to ever live, reawakened by the will of the force, blazes into the final confrontation against the sith. And here we have the dark side: (R-L): Sith Acolyte: Wielding a force-enhanced sword, roaring in red-eyed anger, the Sith Acolyte calls upon his rage, blasting lightning out of his arm, rushing towards the Jedi in his tattered robes. Sith Hunter: The Sith Hunter looks less like a known species and more like the product of Sith Alchemy, a demon out of legend. It's horns and teeth have ripped into as many jedi as it's four sabers. Sith Menace: The Sith Menace has devastated worlds, army at his back. An unstoppable force covered in unbreakable armor, it's unknown whether there's even an organic being left in the suit, or it's simply armor possessed by a Sith's long-dead spirit. The Dark Side: No snarling face, no blazing red blade, no soul to reach. This specter is the core of what makes the sith, the very embodiment of the dark side taking semi-corporeal form. My last entry was more of a twist on the entry idea with the whole shattered glass thing, so I tried to do the core of the entry idea here- a fight between the Jedi and Sith.
  17. Both, but there's a surprisingly low number of Lanterns given how much we've been talking about him. I was kind of expecting you to go- 1): Hal Jordan 2): Jon Stewart 3): Guy Gardner 4): Kyle Raynar 5): Jessica Cruz 6): Simon Baz 7): Alan Scott 8): Kilowog 9): Mogu (The planet one, I think I didn't spell that right) 10: Chip Though personally, I think I'd be pretty boring and throw this out there: 1): Barry Allen (I love speedsters, Barry has a great rogue's gallery, and I like that he tries to help his less evil villains) 2): Bruce Wayne (He's Man. C'mon) 3): Clark Kent (I'm like the one guy who liked Cavill, apparently, though no one holds a candle to Reeves. Not the best rogue's gallery, but certainly far from the worst) 4): Diana of Themiscyra (She's held back by a weak rogue's gallery, but a great character herself. I think they should lean into mythology and make her a sort of Kratos-style myth killer) 5): Hal Jordan (THE Green Lantern, and while not the first, certainly the most popular. This entire part of the universe is great) 6): The Jonkler (The first villain on the list, I love the sheer variety of things you can do with the character. He can be a prankster criminal, a broken down man, a serial killer, or whatever depending on the day) 7): Eobard Thawne (The pettiest man alive and one of the few "villain has the same powers as the hero" things that I really enjoy.) 8): Jason Todd (As much as I like Barry and Clark, sometimes you just want to see cool red edgy guy shoot bad guys and drive motorcyle) 9): Jon Stewart (I was trying my best to only do one person for each hero, but Jon needs to be up here. Same general stuff as Hal. I like that he's been a soldier and an architect.) 10): Lex Luthor (If the turtle was a billionaire)
  18. For a million pieces, the price would more likely be around $100,000 USD, more or less a couple tens of thousands of dollars. Though the LOTR sets tend to have a lower PPP than the average lego set- Rivendell at 12.334 parts per dollar, and Barad-dur at 11.89. Averaging that for 12.112 pieces per dollar, we get a price of around $82,500. Going off Rivendell being $500 for 21 (15 listed figures + six? statues, which use figure parts and have printed torsos and heads, so I'm counting them), and Barad-Dur being $460 for 10 figures, we have an average of 1 figure every $35, or 1 figure every 420.4 pieces. Assuming a 1 million, $82,500 set, we get either 2,378 figures or 2,357 figures (Hey, cool, those are pretty close!). Averaging that for 2368 figures, and saying horses and trolls dig into the figure count a bit, let's say- The entire fellowship, Sauron, the Mouth of Sauron, the Witch-king, all Nazgul, every other named character in the films with more than three lines, around 350 Gondor soldiers, 250 Riders of Rohan on horses, 150 ghosts, 150 goblins, 30 Cave Trolls, 450 orks, 400 uruk-hai, and Tom Bombadil.
  19. Instagram gets weird with restrictions sometimes. I use the browser and it sometimes makes it so you can only see nine posts, or, right now, just a handful more than that, most of them fairly old. I believe this stems from an attempt to "combat misinformation" or whatever, I remember it being especially hard to find recent posts around US elections, so expect it to get worse as we get closer to November. Because clearly Russia, China, etc are gonna target the lego leak hastags. I'm not confident in anything about that set beyond R2-KT being included.
  20. WHAT IS THIS? A translation error, some sort of Finnish phrase that doesn't make sense in english? What does this mean? Yeah, it's kind of funny that Simpsons is still on there and allegedly their second best-selling licensed theme isn't. I'm much, much more concerned about this $300 clown set now that I know it's not joker. You do know most batman lego sets are rated for children, correct? Wouldn't that be ISB gray?
  21. Maybe uncomfortable the first time if they aren't used to wearing contacts, but millions upon millions of people wear contacts every day. You don't really notice them once you put them in, and colored ones rarely affect your vision at all- most frequently if your pupil dilates while you're wearing a cheaper/less made-to-fit set, which I have to assume they aren't doing for Hera and Ezra's actors. The eye color thing doesn't bother me much, if I had to choose a filoni gripe (in terms of more substantial stuff it's probably the need for the characters he created or gave personality to to be in everything. Let Tales focus on characters people like who don't have their own show already, man!), it'd be the fact that everyone has to have a blue lightsaber now. Ahsoka in the siege of mandalore. Peridea Ezra. Depa Biliba. Why? See this is where I'm fine with Peridea Ezra having them, but that's mainly because of whatever vague comments they made about the force being strong there and the Mortis connections. I'm just headcanoning that Peridea enhances an individual's connection to the force, hence why jedi-trained but not force-sensitive sabine was able to use it in a time of need, and why Ezra, who lived there for like a decade, has such distinctive eyes- he is glowing with magical power- force powers. But like I said, that's pretty much just my interpretation/headcanon. Until it becomes canon, I can understand the eye gripe to an extent. This (and 90% of the rest of the boba fett show, because a boba fett show COULD have been so good) is my main gripe with the mandoverse's lore so far. What's going on? Why are they fish? You can't make that up to interpretation! The true start of the descent of the DC thread.
  22. Love the story detail, and the massive bricks are a good way to make a full scene with that 100 part count. That jedi is great, as is the brutalized clone commander. Though to be honest, the speeder steals the show, it's a really solid design!

  24. ARC's been around the forum for years on other threads, so we're successfully inducting established members. I still wonder if the US getting the bespin duel set was a good trade-off for europe getting the magazines and a few themes two months early each summer. I think for the year it probably was- it's one of my favorite sets- but the magazines are such a massive benefit figure-wise so I'd say most years you guys still win out. The one good part of all-star batman and robin's Batman just being a horrible human being was the yellow room scene. I love the scene where Hal essentially forges a ring out of pure, unadulterated willpower. Such a quintessentially Green Lantern scene. I even made a MOC in my moc wave awhile back with a side build for the concept: This might be the most confusing post yet. What does this mean? I get the bee thing but the hidden part... what? It seems like something I wouldn't want to google but beyond that I don't understand. I've been out-manned, the Aslume is going too deep for me!
  25. I dunno, I think putting the most popular ones first makes sense too- so Marvel, Harry Potter, etc first.
