  1. I mean... they're both real ways of measuring a set's value, if neither is fully accurate alone. But either way, you can just look at the prices of these batmobiles in comparison to eachother. In 2019 we had a $30 batmobile with batman and joker. In 2023 we had one not much larger, still with batman and joker, for almost $50. In 2024 we throw in Harley and suddenly it's $60. These prices are jumping faster than inflation- and that's not easy to pull off in the US with how badly inflation's gone. All my homies hate Damian. I've spoken a lot about how the movie has this sort of casual nihilism I dislike, and I'm generally not a fan of excessively vulgar content. That said, it's at least better than the 2016 one, which had a lot of the same issues but also no king shark. Hand. Semi unrelated, but how does this correlate to lego sets for you guys? Lego seems to never make sets off movies that would be R-rated in america, but those can slide between 15 and 18 in other countries, right? Are there 15 movies that lego's made sets off?
  2. Possible- the majority of video game SW sets lego's done in the past decade have been battlepacks. My guess is it'd be like those battlepacks and not scream "THIS IS FROM THE TOTAL WAR GAME" all over it, but I could easily see them sliding out a Rebel and Imperial pack with some game units as a tie-in, like you say. That's certainly possible (as for what's "allowed", I think strictly speaking that's usually in the future star wars sets thread, but if it's a prediction and not just a wishlist sometimes they can squeak through), but I think looking at the recent microfighters that may not be the case. Microfighters are dying out. We went from 6 at a time, to one and a dual pack a year, to just two a year. But the more interesting thing to me is what those microfighers are... or rather, who's in them: 2022: Mando Microfighter early 2023: Boba microfighter (Important note- this thing shelfwarms like crazy. I went to a couple targets last week for non-lego reasons and I dipped into the lego aisle in each of them to see if the Rex microfighter had been stocked early. The Boba microfighter was the ONLY SW set on sale at any of the targets- $7- I picked one up. I'm hoping they get discounted further because it's got a nice chunk of dark red parts- and they have SO MANY of them.) mid 2023: Mando and Grogu microfighter 2024: Rex microfighter. In each instance, these are highly desirable characters, with this usually being the cheapest way to obtain them (I'd bet boba being in a mech only $6 more than the microfighter not long after is why the microfighter is shelfwarming so hard). Hera's cool, but I don't think she's as popular as Mando, Boba, or Rex. My money would be on a jedi starfigher microfighter with anakin, or maybe a micro t-6 with Ahsoka. I'll do you one better- a $10 set that's just 15 GNK droids. I don't have the energy to go check via wayback machine, especially since I just did the microfighter rundown, but it was always my understanding that lego used "exclusive" to mean "exclusive at this time", and exclusive figs would frequently show up in other sets later down the line. Might not be the best phrasing, but I don't think this is the first time it's happened. Also, if someone buys a $650 set for a single minifigure and it's released later, they're going to be just as ticked off whether it's got a slightly different head or not. Still a monumentally bad decision on their part either way. (Finally, I'd like to see someone try and sue lego over "deceptive language". Maybe Republicbricks? He likes to threaten people with layers...)
  3. Why was this chosen? I wouldn't exactly call it his most iconic suit, and it's not like they've already done all the iconic ones. The only thing I can think is that since this is more or less a straight recolor of the 2016 one (the only differences I can make out besides grey instead of yellow are an ingot on his chest instead of the printed tile and the trans-blue bricks for him "flying"), they didn't want it to look TOOO similar... just do the 85 using pearl gold, or a battle-damaged suit from Avengers 2012. One thing I'll say in favor of it- brickheadz have retained their price since launch in 2016. Inflation's been so bad that it'd be totally reasonable for it to be $13 today off that alone.
  4. Now we remove Green Lantern- Joker would fit a batmobile set better. Someone said this was going to go for $30? Up it to $70. We want adults to want this too, so we need the price to be high so it seems premium. And this is how they made the brickheadz pack.
  5. They succeeded. I don't have the space for any big collections besides star wars, so I'm currently focusing on the essentials. Which means my Tumbler and a couple of figs are all I need for Batman. Now if they started doing more leaguers again, a new flash, WW, and/or lantern could get me buying... Which I think speaks to a wider issue with the theme- diehard bat-fans may be interested in collection a thousand batmobile variants, but are less batman-intensive adults? Are kids? Most companies try to cycle a new set of kids in every 3 years or so, and that fits with how often lego remakes sets like X-wings and TIE fighters. A batmobile a year- especially when it's the only non-gimmick system set- feels like it's just too much. Battinson did WHAT in his cup?
  6. I dunno how good that would work- it's a pretty different shape- but either way I'm pretty sure that the mold no longer exists. It's been around 9 years.
  7. Thank you! Almost every figure here was born from part usages. The heads and weapons you mentioned, Wrecker's armor, Mustafar Anakin's torso. This was essentially me looking through my figure collection and seeing what would make the most over-the top sith or best jedi.
  8. Thank you! I took the pictures without thinking of how I was going to write the description and wanted to do the more powerful /high ranking characters first.
  9. They took away Battinson's WHAT? Someone check on the poor man. Who HAS powers, but it's less of a defined powerset and more of a lore reason for "character survives this".... something batman often lacks.
  10. Yeah, I got excited seeing the old one and forgot they changed it. In which case my money's on FO trooper. There's no way the Range Trooper element is still in production- actually, I think lego's standard time until molds are destroyed is 5 years max (3-D models of molds mean they can be re-used, but budget wise they count as new molds since it's new physical molds), and the set's been retired about that long. Or the other way around, though I think you're closer given the figures have been revealed. There is one set scheduled for July I'd like to see... But I dunno. I feel like sometimes these companies just like to pretend like things don't leak and we're seeing them for the first time.
  11. Honestly that helmet gives me a lot of hope that they can pull off Enoch well with the standard stormtrooper mold. Obviously not perfect- the bottom of his helmet is more range trooper or shoretrooper like- but like you say, if they don't mess up the printing as badly as that custom, I think it'll look just fine. (though I almost wonder if that's intentional on the custom, I know a lot of customs guys do classic styles and that's a classic style "face". Doesn't fit with all the details on other parts of the body, but the amount of "classic style" figures I've seen with arm printing is baffling.)
  12. Crafting Table revealed. Looks fun, though personally not something I would get. Can anyone tell what the splash text tiles say? I can only make out the logo and the create new world one. One of them appears to be the somewhat obvious statement "You are the Player!", but that seems like a very weird splash text to choose.
  13. Oh man, that's impressive! Grimlock might be an "action master"- a weird subline in the late 80s/early 90s where the characters couldn't transform. I believe they did a more recent Grimlock in the R.E.D line, the spiritual successor to action masters (It makes a little more sense for figures who's cartoon models couldn't realistically transform into vehicles in a toy form, such as many of the characters from the show Prime, but not for G1- the SS86 toys prove that transforming, cartoon accurate G1 figs can be done) That's probably my boy Cliffjumper! Around for decades, but finally out from the shadow of "red Bumblebee" in the most recent comic run by Skybound. The best transformers media... ever? You should 100% check it out. That'd be a "Pretender", another odd subline after the american part of the cartoon finished. Both sides wore armored, non-transforming shells, with the decepticons looking like monsters and the autobots looking like what were supposed to be armored humans but also look monstrous. (By the way, who are they trying to fool? Who goes, "oh, that's not a transformer, it's a 15ft tall man in an armored suit!"). A quick google shows "sky high" as the helicopter Pretender. I keep refreshing the lego leaks page on instagram crossing my fingers. Nothing for Bee yet. The Crafting Table just leaked, a D2C that comes out in august, so Bee really could be any day now.
  14. I think he's just referring to the fact that the set has a lot of pieces in other colors, like how lots of larger sets have those interior parts in weird colors to "break up the build experience" or whatever. I really do appreciate that you're trying to make this big MOC and totally emphasize with the feeling of being excited by the challenge and yet scared of it. But also those images of Giancarlo Esposito as Mr. Freeze at the end are utterly insane.
  15. I'm not gonna lie I would have taken the ANAD helmet if we found out via Foggy replying to you with "ANAD Iron Man helmet" after it'd been said twice. But seriously, that is just about the worst case scenario for the helmet. You mean the one this summer and a night trooper one this january, or are you saying you want two mandoverse imperial BPs next year? Yup. Whether night troopers or standard stormtroopers, I'll be happy.
  16. If you bought them from a retailer in the past few years, they probably are! IIRC the line's got Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, Sideswipe, a decepticon grunt, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and Barricade, though I might be missing some- I mainly collect the smallest size class for space reasons and all the WFC game figures are deluxe or voyager size classes. Still waiting on bumblebee to leak... c'mon buddy, where are you? We're only a month out!
  17. You're both wrong. Clearly he needs one for each theatrically released batman film. Which is around 15 depending on what you do and don't count. (Jokes aside legoturtle I am interested to see how you combine the two for a MOC, it's a neat idea and I wish you luck)
  18. This is one of the greatest physical mocs I've ever seen. When is Brickworld Chicago? I'm going to be working a few states away this summer but if this is there I might drive down if it's over the weekend.
  19. I didn't even know that was him, I just saw instagram and youtube comments, but it makes sense. It's such a weirdly specific complaint for people to have, so it makes sense that a lot of it's sourced from MandR. I love it. It's glorious. And I say this as a guy who resells lego online. I personally only do my own collection, friends'/neighbors' stuff on commission, and bulk ebay lots I sort out to rebuild the sets from. But I don't begrudge the people who buy new sets and sell the figs and figless set/parts separately, so long as they aren't buying so many as to prevent people from buying the set directly from retailers. The prices tend to be pretty high, but it's providing another option. A $650 set for rex or $200 for rex alone isn't worse than just the first option, as no one's making you do the second. But that said, lego releasing the figure again is absolutely something they'd have to be ready for. It's an obvious risk of lego resale and you shouldn't get all butthurt when it happens. It's also a genius move by lego- they get the venator sales from people who feel they need to immediately have rex, then make him later availible to kids and adults who didn't want the venator and aren't going to drop $650 on a fig. They also said a few years ago they were gonna work towards not making as many figs/characters exclusive to super expensive sets, so it's not like this came out of nowhere. I remember I had a grand inquisitor up around the time the kenobi set with him released. I think the price dropped around $60, so I lowered it on my BL listing, and it sold awhile later (I always try to have the cheapest US price for any figs over a couple bucks so they'll sell fast). I didn't start screaming that lego was devaluing the figure. Hell, I've got a Thrawn in my collection right now that I think about selling pretty frequently, but I'm not mad about the new one. I feel that. I mean, if it's so light it could be shading in the comic (which again isn't neccesarily even what this figure was based on- a white armored vader isn't exactly the most unique place to take the idea of "good vader"), I think it's pretty unrealistic to expect printing on a helmet we've never had printing on before. (Also, it's not the only difference between the comic- which he's in like 2 panels in- and the lego figure. The lego figure has colored torso buttons.) Yeah, I would have been fine with a changed head too, but I love that it's the exact same figure so the scalpers burn. Venator Microfighter in January 2025? (Probably not but it'd be hilarious) I might be misremembering too, good if it is! Yeah, exactly. Even if the comic vader had blue lenses (I maintain it just looks like shading to me- and no one's arguing the forehead of his helmet should be LBG or there should be a gradient printed on his collar armor), this isn't the comic vader. Yup, in fact back when they leaked kintsugi was one of the first things referenced, to the point they were pretty frequently referred to as kintsugi troopers before the night trooper name was revealed. Man this'll be interesting. DON'T INVOKE THE NAME, YOU'LL MAKE IT REALITY I need that gif of Jesse from breaking bad screaming and crying against the car window. My beloved golden boy, the Roman Empire incarnate, my captain my captain, what are they going to do to you?
  20. It'd be a licensing nightmare- I'm not even sure how they'd work that out selling at least 3 different companies products under the same banner (and most likely 4 since there's no way Kirkman doesn't have a say on invincible merch), but since it's not happening anyway due to how mature it'd be, yeah, it'd be fun. I own the Firestar toys Unbeatable Adolescent. He's the only non-purist lego I own. I've got him and spidey wooshing past my daily bugle set in a recreation of the pose from the cover of their team-up issue. That would be cool, though I'd prefer a title card only CMF. Something like: 1. Invincible, 2. Atom Eve, 3. Omni-Man, 4. Angstron Levy (suit), 5. Allen the Alien, 6. Kregg, 7. Robot, 8. Immortal, 9. Dupli-Kate (With a microfig of shrinking Rae), 10. Cecil, 11. Debbie, 12. Rex, 13. Black Samson, 14. Lucan (with family feud dvd), 15. Donald, 16. Invincible (severe bloodstains and battle damage). Obviously if we did the comic instead of just the show, we'd have to change it up a lot- no spoilers, but we'd need freddy mercury, some other outfits for certain characters, etc- but I've gone off topic enough, even for this thread. Let Sam Raimi direct. Watch the box office explode. No, no, no. He's gonna need 4. The quad box. Ok, hear me out, he really needs 8 to get the full cube shape kept.
  21. I don't know. Stafford was clearly hinting that marvel said no to deadpool, but I don't think that's an indication that the lego group's executives would have greenlit the fig anyway- the list was supposedly 60-70 figures, so it was pretty clearly very far from a complete product. Lego designed, manufactured, and sent a set based on the Osprey to some stores. During this time period, some german group started complaining that the Osprey is only used by militaries (though Lego's particular model/markings were of a search and rescue one rather than a weaponized one). Lego pulled the entire set, which probably cost them a lot of money even with re-using the parts. I dunno about germany, but in america, I think the average parent would be more averse to lego making a deadpool figure than lego making a set based on a vehicle that isn't a weaponized version but still only used by militaries. That's true, but I still think it works against the character showing up anytime soon. This would have been THE SET to include him in.
  22. He really does, I'm gonna have to check his bricklink prices once the set's been out for awhile. Also, I'm so glad I haven't seen the "WhY aReN't HiS lEnSeS bLuE?" complaint here. Such a stupid complaint that really encapsulates my issue with the gripes about lego. People are acting like it's some massively important detail when we don't even know what the figure's based on- and the one white vader I have seen- from the infinities comic- has white lenses. It'd be like if I complained that the Rowan Freemaker figure didn't have dual-molded arms. I am very cautiously optimistic about the figure selection for this set. Thrawn and Ezra look perfect, and on one hand, that could mean the fig budget's been spent. On the other, with two exceptional figures already, what's to say the others can't be? Though my greatest hope for the figs, aside from a stellar Ahsoka the white, is that Morgan gets a nightsister face print. Not likely, but possible.
  23. I think it is in this situation. A deadpool figure would immediately sell whatever set he was in to insane levels. More than even someone like Rex. They fact that they haven't yet would certainly imply that for whatever reason, they can't or don't want to. I think the real proof of this is if he doesn't show up in the X-mansion. That's by far the best opportunity for them to put him in- relates to a non-R-rated property he's been in (the 90s series), a big 18+ set, etc. It's also been Neither do I, and you are correct that lego can find loopholes around their morals. Realistically, it's not so much the morality as whether or not people will complain. But they cancelled a set that was already being sent to stores because a relatively small german group complained. If they put Deadpool in a set, it's not releasing. Not with him in it, at least. Yeah, I have to agree. Especially with a set like this, which is larger and will have been in production longer. I thought lego not having done something yet didn't mean they couldn't/wouldn't? Sorry- I saw the opportunity and I had to take it. To be honest, I have been wondering about that- it seems like a monumentally poor decision to re-use the same characters if they aren't the CMF versions- not that it wasn't for Wolverine in the X-jet- but like you said, lego really doesn't re-use figs between CMFs and non-CMF sets.
  24. As much as I love *Title Card*, their darkwing is but a pale imitation of the one, true, Darkwing Duck.
  25. Same for me. Lego Optimus was the first time I'd bought a transformer ever, the first transformer I'd had since I was around 5, and the first time I'd so much as thought about the franchise in almost a decade. It was basically a gateway drug for me- I watched the newest show at the time, Netflix's War for Cybertron series, while I was building, which got me into the older shows like Prime and watching ROTB when it released, then got into collecting the non-lego transformer figures. I think you're talking about '86 grimlock (In which case, I believe the SS86 repack did leak), but I could see Lego Grimlock in a year or two. We need some Cons first, but Grimlock was the second Robosen figure they did, so who knows? Transformers has two main toylines on shelves right now besides the super gimmicky toys meant for younger kids: Generations: The current iteration of the line, Legacy, is focused on previous versions of transformers, whether it's G1, other cartoons, or even the comics. Studio Series: This line is focused on studio-created works, such as the live action movies and the War for Cybertron video game. They recently started SS86, or Studio Series (1986 film), based on, well, the 1986 film. They are by far the best representations of the G1 characters currently available in mainline. There's also the masterpiece line, which is like the UCS line for lego star wars. Super well-done but expensive figures. Masterpiece might actually be over, it was kind of unclear. I've got Core Ironhide, and he's so much fun I got a second one during the "Every transformer is at least 30% off" target sale to make into a generic autobot, since the G1 core class skews decepticon. The Deku Tree is a september release, and that was revealed, so Bumblebee could literally be any day now.
