I would also 100% buy this in normal circumstances, given how good the Batmobile looks, but on the other hand, you know they'd make this $70 and it'd only come with Batman and Harley Quinn. I think it's pretty clear lego seems to be going off the US rating system for what they will and won't make sets on. You sort of prove your own point by saying they'll make sets for things rated MA15+ in Australia... but TV-14 in America. There are a number of properties with higher age ratings in other countries that got sets because they were PG-13 or TV-14 in the US. The only time it's been broken in the US is when they released an Echo figure in a CMF and the show was changed to a TV-MA rating AFTER the product had been developed.

It was- it also implies a new trans-yellow blade would now count as a recolor (though c'mon, when has lego star wars had a low enough budget to worry about a recolor?) I knew they were trying to keep the second one secret, but I legitimately didn't realize the first one was meant to be a non-marketed secret. Doesn't the poster show it? Unless the show suddenly spikes in popularity with kids, I think the most we get is one set. A Vector with Sol and The Stranger would do best, but given lego put out a Justifier, you never know. -

This is also very true. Luke with new hair for some reason, white shirt han, Boba Fett, Lando Skiff Guard, and Chewie, plus another Jabba guard I think. It's supposed to be like 7 minifigs or something crazy like that, though to be fair, anytime there's a large number of minifigs and the exact count/lineup is unknown, it usually ends up being significantly less than we're initially told. Looking at you, Yavin and Star Destroyer. While that one was a joke, given that that same press tour gave us the legend of anakin destroying the death star and the idea that there's no good or evil in star wars, lesbian r2 isn't much weirder and fits the theme of not really caring about the franchise you've been handed. I know we're supposed to stop, but I'm just saying, she totally could be in the actual canon adaption. There's plenty of room for her main storyline. As my last thing on the topic, I just want to know if @BrickBob Studpants has read the thrawn trilogy, or is just basing this off what he's heard about the character. Yeah, exactly. This is: A franchise where characters repeatedly survive situations that would realistically kill them, even ones who aren't force-sensitive. A man who we JUST SAW had a number of clones and who's whole schtick is outplanning and outhinking his enemies. A set of armor that's known for being incredibly resistant to damage. I think it's not at all unreasonable to speculate he's alive. -

The last thing I'll say on Mara is that most of the criticism seems to be just on whatever they think Mara is just from peripheral knowledge, not how she's actually written (at least in Zahn's works). "Waifu/Luke's wife" when her first major trilogy has a completely different dynamic between her and Luke. "Doesn't answer to or outrank vader"- Palpatine does this all the time in both canon and legends. It's also been very clear in stuff like the Alligence duology that while Vader can't directly command Mara or kill her, she has to tread VERY lightly around him and can't order him around. This is generally true, Solo nonwithstanding. Which doesn't bother me too much. For one thing, L3 is clearly some sort of weird advanced AI system beyond that of a normal droid. For another...look, if anyone could get a droid to fall in love with them, it'd be Lando. The three remaining sets are the ones my hopes are highest for, but I thought the Cal set would have been a sure buy from me, so we'll see. Here's my thoughts: Peridea: Thrawn and Ezra are great. If there's a solid Ahsoka the white and the build's not egregiously small, I'll get it. If it ends up being a Gray re-use and super overpriced, I might skip it, but this is definitely the one I'm most confident I'll buy. Some nice cherries on top would be a new faceprint for Morgan with the face paint and/or a non-sucky Enoch. Jedi Bob's fighter: This one I'm probably most likely to skip initially but pick up in a year or so. I seriously doubt that it'll be worth $40 and not just a generic jedi starfighter with a $10 "Jedi Bob Tax" slapped on, but we'll see. If it's an interesting design and the non-bob figure is good, I might pick it up. Otherwise, I'll wait for a good sale and part it out so I can have a Jedi Bob. Skiff: They've done great work with the skiffs in the past so I've got faith this'll be good. Ideally I'd like to see either two skiffs or a larger skiff and significantly larger-than-normal sarlacc, but the sheer number of figs, like with Peridea, means the build would have to be pretty subpar for me to skip it. Overall the two fig-heavy sets are probably going to end up in my cart day one, unless they REALLY drop the ball. -

I mean you're entitled to your opinion but I don't think that was ever something suggested by any official sources. He also, as @ARC2149Nova says, had a number of romantic interests in legends, to the point that the Abeloth storyline includes him confronting multiple past love interests as almost a side quest. (one of it's weaker points IMO) Have you read the Thrawn trilogy? Most of her best characterization is from that. She's almost literally haunted by the ghosts of her past, battling between the person she has to be to survive, the person she was in said past, and her sense of what's right. She has a very interesting and complex storyline compared to star wars's often basic view on former villains, one that I think's only matched by Crosshair. You have to be gunning for controversy here with that Young Leia bit at the end. Generic civilian clothes child with a frisbee is more interesting than the Emperor's Hand turned smuggler turned Jedi and wife of the original main character of the franchise? The more I see about this droid builder set, the less I understand it. $100 is really just an absurd price point for the astromech version of Go Brick Me. -
Which I much prefer- I think it gives him a lot more character. Yeah, but that's a couple figures for a franchise that had an INSANE amount of crossovers. I'm surprised there's no system sets is I guess what I should say. Just saying- didn't start with Disney. I'm not saying it's totally fantasy. I'm saying it's sci-fi and fantasy, as @Agent Kallus points out regarding things being able to be multiple things.

I don't think that point is particularly strong. Would Cal have been a bad choice if we never got the BD set? Would Malak have been a bad choice if we never got the Revan polybag? Would R2-KT be a bad choice (if she's even coming) if she hadn't cameod in clone wars? Besides that, Star Wars is a lot more of a wide universe than HP, which despite Warner Bros's best efforts, largely remains one story and at best other time periods at a specific school. I'm not saying it'll be AI-generated sets or stories or something, but I gurantee you they're working on a way to get it crammed in there somehow. -
Best scene in the trailer was "Bang" and then the ship gun thing going off. I'm so happy they're finally using him. My guesses: Superman: 1-3 sets, SWOT 0-1 sets, TBP2 3-5 sets, Joker 2 none, TBATB 3-5, ST none, TT 1-3, TA 0-3 depending on rating. Lanterns 0-1 sets, PS2 none, BG 0-1 sets, Waller none, Arkham none. Jurassic League: none Caped Crusader anywhere from none to multiple full waves. If it's TV-PG/TV-14 we could be looking at our best chance at theme revival. BB I dunno, I don't know the target audience. Kiteman none, HQ3 none, CC none. Exactly. It's both. I hope they touch it up before release, but this is Amazon, and we saw Invincible. They need to get their animation in gear here, you could have the Best Superhero Comic Show in the Universe and stilted animation'll still hurt it. For all Snyder's faults, at the very least he did PLAN on having John involved. They even filmed a post-credits for the snyder cut with Wayne T Carr if I'm remembering right. I don't get this either. It's lego's whole weird "we're for girls too, but they need their own minifigure system" thing. Clearly many girls do like the friends theme and whatnot, but I maintain they'd do at least a little better if they had normal minifigures. TTG is brainrot, but it's also massively popular, so it does confuse me why lego never did anything for it. It's both, and so is batman. It can depend story-wise. ZSJL is sci-fi/fantasy, whereas The Batman and TDK are more crime thrillers. 60s batman is comedy/adventure, etc. We're in a franchise with space wizards, microscopic life forms that determine how much connection you have to your magic powers, etc, but no. gravity wells and magnetic fields are where we draw the line. Space Wizards, man. It can be both, but you can't say it's not fantasy. You even say yourself that there SHOULD be fantasy elements.

Exactly! They've completely outpriced themselves here- no child is buying this instead of a normal system set, and I don't know how many adults are interested in this either. This feels like a Lucasfilm employee gift, not a real set. It also blows my mind that they aren't trying to bolster sales by putting a more desirable figure like Cal or Fives in this one- Young Leia's by far the least popular. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing for consumers that desirable characters aren't locked behind this set and I respect them for doing it, but a terrible business move if you're trying to sell the set. Look foreword to seeing the MOC wave. The one you did back in... what, 2020? was really nice. I gotta get back on the MOC train, work's been hectic. I mainly know her from that trilogy and the other excellent Zahn books- the Allegiance/choices of one duology is one of my favorite SW book lines, and I totally reccomend it. It's a great intersection of plotlines that also has fun with the sort of "grievous and anakin can't meet in TCW" thing, putting characters who can't meet yet just about as close as you can get without doing so. (My Suwantek MOC- which includes Mara- is based on that book) I wholeheartedly disagree, one on the fact that she's less relevant than Malak- I'd say they're on the same level of being known, if not more- but also on the idea that not having been in much recent stuff would make her a bad choice. If anything, that's the perfect reason to put her in- a fan-loved character who hasn't been in anything they're planning on making normal sets for. You can't tell me modern lego isn't the type of company that's already attempting to put AI in as many places as possible. I wouldn't be shocked at all if the next in-house theme tried to use it in some way, after Nexo Knights/dimensions, Hidden Side, and Vidyo tried to emulate TTL games, ARGs, and Tiktok (ew) respectively. -
I agree in part- maybe not the art style per se, but the animation itself is the weakest link for me. The plot looks good, Batman's VA is great, and I like the tone, setting, etc, but the actual animation seems a little basic. There's that shot of batman running after catwoman that looks particularly weak to me, especially for something you're gonna show off in the trailer. That's just Alfred smoking a cigar in reverse. The bit with the pirate dude's face is Batman showing alfred an anti-smoking PSA. I am cautiously optimistic about this because 1: Hal is at least a main character again and 2: I do think earth is the right way to start a GL story, and I like that they're letting it start on earth but we also don't have to try and cram the entire Hal-Jon-Guy-Kyle-Jess-Simon timeline into one live-action continuity. I do, however, share the parallax concern. Hal has been seen increasingly often as "the one who turns evil" and I'm not super confident Gunn will care enough about Hal to let him be the hero he's supposed to be.

I'm gonna need a UCS one now. I think you may be right- there aren't many other good options. I'm pretty sure that mold's gone unfortunately. However, a new Enoch mold could be pre-molded to also work as a Tank Trooper mold if we were ever going to revisit them... or if Enoch was gonna have a new mold. :( -
Purple shirt Lois is not in any way something I would have thought of for a detail I wanted in a superman film but it's completely a detail I needed. Wait did Returns or the Reeves films have much of that? I don't mind the Jesus imagery- while it feels a little egotistical on the director's part (and I say that as a fan of the Snyder cut movie), in-universe it does kind of make sense for people to have a similar reaction, especially if he's one of the first heroes around. Though given there seems to be an established amount of heroes in this movie- even if they're not a league yet- I think it won't show up this time around, which is also perfectly fine by me. I dunno why we aren't talking about Caped Crusader. That trailer and poster are both absolute peak-in-the-making. If it sticks with the TV-PG/light TV-14 tone it seems to have (It seems to be a fairly mature story and they use realistic-if not modern-guns, but I don't see any blood), and kids tune in, it's got the potential to be the cartoon that brings DC back.

Exactly. Hence not enough left for a new Enoch mold (In lego's mind) I feel bad saying this but this is a set I can't wait to buy at 40% off. As fun as it is I just don't know that it does well at all among the general population. Wait is the R2-KT anniversary fig not coming in the Oa D2C set then? To your last point, as yoda once said... "you will be... you will be" (Because you'll fear how much I love a fictional character that hasn't been relevant in some time) First of all, Mara not only CAN be somewhat easily slotted in, but SHOULD (IMO), as having her die shortly before Ben turns would make Luke's decision at least slightly more sympathetic. You can easily put her into Filoni's loose Thrawn adaption he's cooking up, have her die before ben's turn like I said, etc. Only thing that'll bump into is any books or comics taking place between where Mara should show up, but doesn't, and Lucasfilm clearly has no issue soft-breaking books and comics. (Nor would I be opposed to "Luke just didn't bring her up to other people much") Second, in the scenario where Mara never IS relevant again, would it not make more sense to put her in as an anniversary fig, seeing as it'd be the only way? A c-3po microfigher that's just the UCS figure piloting a larger C-3po would be an instant buy from me. I don't even care about the figure. Oh, and this C-3po set looks fine. Nothing especially interesting but it's well done and seems to have a very solid amount of pearl gold. -

He said something along the lines of "they had to cut corners somewhere", which implies to me that it's not a new mold, since the figure doesn't need arm printing or really need dual-molding, and a printed Kama is more or less to be expected. -

Oh yeah. As other knockoff companies "go legit", new ones slink out of the shadows to take their places. In the US, not a huge deal. But in some other markets, either where official sets are tougher to get ahold of as easily, or knockoffs are based anyway, they can take a pretty big slice out of the profits. IIRC part of the benefit of Lego's attempts to break into the chinese market was one of the big Lepin facilities finally getting raided by the chinese government. I remember seeing the pictures a few years ago and friends of mine who knew I was into lego kept showing me them. Edit: here it is: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-48076505 -
Preface- while it's not my actual job, I do some reselling so I can afford to buy sets. Primarily things I used to own, or purchasing bulk ebay lots and building the sets within them. I don't think reselling is dark side, I think it's if anything beneficial to the community. Scalping by buying a ton of copies of a currently-in-production set to try and force people to buy scalped copies instead of retail ones is scummy, as is buying up all the supply of a secondhand item to artificially inflate the price, but generally speaking, reselling helps fans get sets they missed at the time. I know I'm happy I was able to get sets like the 2014 star destroyer years after retirement. Even when prices go up, if they do so naturally, I don't see an issue. I personally try to have my sets and figs be the cheapest ones listed on BL in my country at the time (though many sellers do, so oftentimes I'll have to go back and reprice a shelfwarmer), but if someone wants to list a generic stormtrooper for $50, it's a pretty dumb move as it's probably not going to sell, but unless you buy all the others to make yourself the only option, I don't think it's dark side. I only have one currently built! What's funny is as much as I want to see figures of the leaguers made, if I buy a set, it'll probably just be a cheap one with Supes and Lex or something.
-
I know, that's why I said "The film version- even if the film's not that good". The panels with Flash are the only favorited comic panel in my camera roll on my phone. My guesses for 2025 Superman sets: Option 1: None Option 2: Superman and maybe Lex and Lois in a batman set Option 3: A superman construction figure Option 4: A wave of three sets- a construction figure, a small set with Superman, Lois, and the Engineer (Or Lex), and a larger set with Superman, the Engineer (Or Lex), and at least a few leaguers.

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not big on Dragon Ball, so I might be wrong, but didn't it air on cartoon network in the US or something? I don't remember it being any more adult than, say, more mature Star Wars projects, or Dune, or some of the newer Marvel/DC films. -
Joker 2 wave! Let's go! It's Jonkling time! Aside from money and space (space moreso than money- I'm sure you've got a good job, but I can't imagine anything less than some sort of mansion holding what has to be over a thousand sets given the number of themes I see you in- even people like Jang sell/donate pretty big chunks), You've really never looked at a DC set and gone "nah, I personally don't think this is worth $____ to me"? Absolute peak suit. This is just actual Superman chilling downtown. Mr Terrific isn't quite doing it for me- the face/mask is fine, I always just imagined him looking older and having shorter hair- but getting him at all is a win, especially getting one with the T mask. I'd love him (The chess scene in injustice is one of my favorite scenes, and it'd be cool to have the film version- even if the film's not that good), and I feel he's fairly likely if the film gets more figs than Supes, Lex, and Lois. But that's a big if.

These are great, but which figure tastes the best? -
I mean Joker is also implied to have committed that particular crime once or twice. But he's done so many things that it's not going to be the first thing that shows up when a kid googles "jonkler batman villain" or whatever. It's probably the most well-known Dr. Light story at this point, which is why it baffles me so much that they were like "yeah, let's put him in our lighthearted, borderline brainrot kid's show" ... dude. I'm only seeing one post about that, and while immature and pretty bog-standard turtle strangeness, I don't know if it's right to just go around implying a member of the forum is that. If you cut through the turtleness of it, there's a little bit of something there. Lego has been trying to add more figures with more skin tone colors, and if they remain adamant that they're just going to do batman- and primarily movie batmen at that- there's not a ton they can do there. Now, that's probably not even a contributing factor to why we get so few DC sets, but it is kind of ironic that lego could get more diversity in their sets if they'd actually do something with the theme. (And far from turtle's first random guess as to why lego isn't making more DC sets) Anyway, you made me look back so I saw this and have to comment on it: I think it would fit somewhere within that tier, along with the final panel of Invincible, "it's you"/"the one and only" from superior spider-man, the Hellbat reveal, and "fear and dead men" from vader down. But this is, of course, the purest form of peak fiction:

It is indeed, but it's easy to print on, and we don't have many good options. I'm guessing it will either be this, or the new trooper helmet with some gold splashed on the face. The new tomato soup color would be pretty nice for a jedi starfighter, I'd be down for your idea- though I agree it's unlikely. Actually, I'm not as confident that the FO helmet is gone. It's an important enough piece that even with the lack of FO troopers in the past few years, I could see lego paying the maintenance fees under the assumption they'll do at least one or two sequel sets in the next few years. I don't think they'll use it for Enoch, but I do think it's possible it's still kicking. Range Trooper helmet is 100% not going to be it, though. Used in one set 6 years ago for a trooper type we never saw in any real capacity again? It's gone, and I don't see why lego would pay to revive it when it'd be about the same cost as an enoch helmet. I agree that the OG trooper helmet is the least likely, though. They aren't returning to that helmet for the stormies, meaning there's no reason to revive it. blank minifigure head with a sticker for the helmet detailing. -
Had to respond to these -Is this new info for this thread? -What is a msicar? I cannot find anything on google. Is it like a psi car? Why is turtle's car backwards? Is he on the wrong side of the road? Is he British? (But seriously, I can't figure out what this means) -This one is correct you heard it here first. -Actually, I'm not quite sure if that's the case. I only have one built right now- the 2021 tumbler- but I feel somewhat confident that at some point as a kid I bought a DC set or two, and they just got disassembled or lost over time. Generally speaking, with the superhero themes I'm more interested in figures and/or scene representations rather than vehicles. My only currently displayed marvel sets are the Bugle, NWH final battle, and a few Halls of Armor (2019) for an iron man display. As a result- and since I don't really want to buy multiple similar and increasingly expensive batmobiles, I don't have much of a DC display. He does show up in both Teen Titans shows IIRC, so while he's not super well known he's not unknown. (Though it's crazy that they put him in Go after what he did. You do NOT want kids googling that guy, it's like his most famous comics moment)
