I'm working in an area where I can't get mail delivered directly, so I'm stuck bumblebeeless until saturday. Looking forewords to obtaining him, though! That's a pretty reasonable reaction to the figure from what I've seen, and to be fair to lego even some of the more recent bumblebee figures partsform, like the Netflix edition one. For regular transformers, a deluxe class ($25, kinda small but not super small) G1 bee should have either just released or will come out any day now. Look for SS86 Bumblebee.

Why would we get Jango and Bo helmets at the same time? I mean, I'm sure it's possible, but given that they share somewhat similar colors, I'd be surprised. I don't think so- I don't know why disney would be opposed to or even need to sign off on that. I don't know if lego's ever confirmed it, but as the number of non-playsets increased, the number of playsets decreased. I doubt that's a coincidence.

I can't believe legoturtle drank the Water of Life to see the narrow way through for Lego DC. I don't blame them for wanting to be careful. The theme's in a bad state now, but if they made a significant number of DCU sets and the movies failed, that's catastrophic for a theme this close to the edge.

Imperial Foe I'm a sucker for these black-base sets, though I think I'll wait for a discount on the AoU one- I don't think it's too overpriced, it's just not a day-one for me. CA:CW is definitely a great choice for this line.

It feels like lego's splitting the line into sets meant for adults who aren't necessarily Afols in the traditional sense and (given the prices, wealthy) younger children, with TFOLs and AFOLs being lost in the shuffle. What's especially concerning to me is that this is looking more and more like a full 1HY 2025 lineup as opposed to just a january wave. We didn't have many standard sets in january 2024 either, but they trickled out over the half-year. This is TWO standard system sets. Two. And the cheapest is $45.

I mean, it's an astromech. If it looks different and has a different name it's really not the same character. I dunno that it's to that extent, but I certainly wouldn't put it past them to spread slightly different info to different sources to try and sniff out leakers. I wouldn't say it's to the extent he's suggesting, but I think the general idea is possible, especially if you consider leakers may communicate with eachother to back stuff up. If one guy's source says the UCS is a sail barge, and the other says it's an MBS Endor, it's pretty easy to tell Lego's trying something. But it's a lot easier to give out slightly different info on a set that actually is in active development, and use those minor differences to sniff out leakers. I'm not saying that's what's going on- R2-KT to QT-KT could easily have been from a leaker not super familair with star wars seeing the fig and just googling "pink R2-D2", and I personally think it's likely Enoch WAS considered for the Peridea set at some point- but I think it's possible, and makes logical sense for a company that literally has anti-leak personnel to do.

This is gonna be my only mention of what's clearly a fake leaker. You're giving him what he wants by responding at all- technically, so am I, but hopefully me saying this gets others not to engage. Don't let him besmirch the image of Rebel Friend. Honestly not opposed to getting one in the black base diorama style. Civil War is one of my favorite MCU movies, so getting a diorama style representation of that would be fun for me.

I'm not saying this was your point, but I've seen a general sentiment that TPM was somehow skipped over this year, and I feel that's really not the case. It got just as much as the other anniversaries have in their years. (Also, I'm getting tired of these anniversaries. Two in 2023, two in 2024. Next year is 20 for ROTS, 10 for TFA, 45 for ESB, etc. It makes the sets feel less special.)

Figure re-usage wise it's fine, but they aren't going to become the next Jedi Bob or Rebel friend. And so it is, albeit one who's coloring is actually white and pink like R2-KT instead of the QT-Kirby minifigure. Same, we've heard so many random details about this set, and none of them feel concrete to me- especially considering the one constant we had is gone.

I'd be fine with the Enoch-to-night trooper pipeline if lego ended up deciding they couldn't do him well enough without a new mold and didn't want to use that much of the set/wave's budget on one. This is different to me because R2-KT would be no more difficult than QT-KT. And we know they weren't just worried about how it would look putting a charity-created character in a marketable product, because they're literally doing so this coming wave of sets. I also agree on that- she's too dark of a pink.

While I agree with the general sentiment, I do think the actual fully OC characters in this are pretty lame. The ones like white vader or darth jar jar, where they represent things beyond just lego, are cool, but every OC post Jek is just... some human civilian looking person. Darth Dev looks intimidating but also just like a generic inquisitor. I think a lot of the lego OCs work because they either aren't intended to be big OC things and star wars fans latch onto them in the classic star wars spirit of wanting to know more about that slightly different guy in the background (Rebel friend, moustache trooper, jedi bob), or they just do something totally crazy (Jek being a force sensative clone trooper with an arm, like, made of the force or something) This is what confuses me. I've been wanting (and since I joined the site, advocating for in the future sets threads) for a big starbird with the main players of the rebellion (and same for the imperial cog, republic cog, jedi symbol, etc) since the minifigure stand in the UCS Helicarrier. But a star wars logo doesn't interest me. 99% of my collection is star wars, I don't need to advertise that it is. And I don't really see how anyone, existing lego fan or not, would rather have the star wars logo than a ship or faction logo or vader mosiac or what have you. Unfortunately it appears to be that way. Not just looks like- it is. This isn't R2's design with pink instead of blue, this is a fully pink droid with the D-squad caution stripes. I'm actually pretty annoyed. I overlooked the whole "final anniversary fig is an astromech" thing due to R2-KT's special place in the fandom, but this is just... some random astromech. It's not even the SECOND most iconic D-squad droid. This can't be the case as they put her in the droid builder set that comes out next month.

1. Cassian's a better guy in this, though? We start off with his colder side but we also see him really help the people he cares about. But he's definitely not a Luke-like figure, and that's sort of the point. It's how a normal dude, starting off just looking for his sister, can become a heroic figure, even if his true actions are very morally complicated. 2. Many of them do, but the two main ones I hear are Cassian's sister and Mon Mothma. Sure, Cassian's sister doesn't really go anywhere. It's a hook to get us into the story as he loses more and more links to his past. But I think we'll hear about it again in S2. People had similar complaints about Loki and it ended up delivering the best ending in MCU TV history. As for Mon, it's directly related to not only Andor but Luthen. We see Andor's much more ground-level work and sacrifices, and we see what Mon has to sacrifice up at the top. 3. Some of them, sure, but I'd argue that's more than true of most SW shows. Only difference is they just look like normal people- because that's a major point of the show, these are normal people, not force users or spys or crazy looking aliens. 4. Cyril's one of the major characters, that's why he gets so much screentime. He's there to show how someone would get radicalized into the empire. It's a parallel to Cassian entering the rebellion. 5. There's a ton of cloak-and-blade, spying, etc. There's a heist where one of the main players is an imperial colonel who's working with the rebels. There's the ISB and Lonny. There's Luthen's double life and Mon's double life. Just because the main character isn't sneaking around listening to conversations doesn't mean there isn't spying or espionage. 6. The show shows plenty and tells when it makes sense. We don't see Kreegyr because he's not meant to be seen. He's meant to be an expendable group Saw and Luthen let die to show how fine they are letting people get killed to keep a source, and a scene where some rebels get blown up in space wouldn't have added much. In fact, I'm sure many of the same people would complain if we spent time with Kreegyr only for him to go out like that, in a plot that "goes nowhere". 7. The action isn't the point, but I'd argue what we do get is awesome. Both big spaceship fights- the Eye and the Fondor escape- the escape from Ferrix with Brasso's chopper kill, the prison escape, the INCREDIBLE Rix Road finale. But the point of the show isn't the action scenes, it's the ideas around them. I'd also like to know this. There was a TIE Phantom lookalike released during it, but the rest really had no inspiration in non-lego star wars content, and were more different than even the RTG sets which are at least just modified versions of canon/legends vehicles, so I can imagine the reaction being harsh,

I don't think we see Ant-Man and Giant Man in the same set. But I agree we aren't seeing them all in a single set- I'd be surprised if we saw even this many across the two. A combination of airport terrain and a small quinjet, probably, similar to the first one.

I'm gonna be a darn good Turtle. And people are gonna know about it. Totally unrelated to the thread (then again what isn't) but I always assumed some of my classic spacemen were/are women seeing as it's a basic smiley face and they're all wearing spacesuits uniforms. 11 sets. My guess is two max are batman, unless we're getting the Superman tie-ins in january (unlikely but you never know), in which case we could see as many as a whopping 4 sets for DC.

I've had my Din arms on her for so long I forgot she didn't come with arm printing. She definitely needed it. Yes I agree completely- I like the rebels, but if they got the majority of battle packs for years, I'd be starting to get fed up. I agree on both. I've been using She-Hulk's head for Hera for awhile now.

That's true, but to be fair- the RFT was a pseudo large battle pack and I have no faith this set will have more than two figures, an astromech, and 1-2 B1s at max. The AAT was pretty bad to be honest. I don't think I agreed at the time (I was probably just excited to finally get Ahsoka), but at $50 USD 2024 (which is insane, by the way. 4 years and going from $40 to $50 off inflation justifies a lot of lego's prices for me), I couldn't see myself coming close to buying it. 9494 would be $55 today and I'll be honest with you I don't know how to reconcile that. Looking at it, for $40... not bad. For $55, crazy of course. But if they sold that for $45 and replaced the two platforms and Nute with a vulture, I could see it a little. I don't fully know how to feel about it, but yeah, I guess you're right. It really comes down to including side builds to make something feel more worth it regardless of what other metrics say, and it's definitely something to think about. I'm always a side build advocate, but I'd never really thought of it as a method of increasing the perceived value of a set before.

For comics? no. Out of the film adaptations? Without a shadow of doubt in my mind yes, in almost every conceivable way. 1. I'm gonna say 6 sets plus a polybag or two. 2. I think we'll get at least one Superman set, but I wouldn't say it'll 100% be based on the movie. I think it's somewhat likely, though. 3. Yes, but with no impact on lego. 4. Nothing D2C building based. Maybe a system Batcave, though I feel they may just do a remake in 2026 for The Batman part 2 5. Not fully, but I could see an eventual move to Icons if things keep going poorly. 6. Dunno. Haven't kept up with how much it's cost 'em. If it's not the production budget of some of these newer marvel films, it should be able to make it's money back even if it's not great- it's superman. 7. No we aren't 8. I think the dioramas are unfortunately gone 9. No. They're a company. DC doesn't make them as much money so it doesn't get as much attention. That's it. 10. No Stupid? I am not Stupid! I feel like it's possible- I can't imagine disney charges THAT much more for SW than marvel, and I feel like two figs in a $10 set is an instabuy for a lot of people. Please. I'm begging you. We have had so many more clones than any other faction this past few years. Please. Let them take- not even a backseat, let them just get a normal proportion of sets/figs for a bit. Ok, I get Ahsoka's interceptor 100%. I wrote a whole thing about it. But the ARC? The 2010 one was 396 pieces for $60, or $86 today. The 2024 one is 497 for $70, so 100 more pieces for $16 less accounting for inflation. I know the parts will be smaller, but $16 less and 100 more parts is not at all bad IMO. That is funny. I suggested this a bit earlier, but at the same time, it's 290 pieces. No matter what they make up, unless it's, like, a giant molded vulture droid (which would be a really anti-lego move by lego), it's still going to be astoundingly overpriced.

See that wouldn't do it for me. Bob's starfighter is already overpriced compared to Yoda's starfighter, which was overpriced compared to Obi-wan's. We're just jumping the price $5/year (or now, per HY) with no real increase. I don't think it's gonna be $5 overpriced- I think most likely this set has like 3 figs and is $15 overpriced, maybe $10 if it's molded buzz droids and/or more figs. I assume yeah they'll just use the show lekku. They never seem to keep multiple lekku molds around at the same time. Grogu with pram is kind of annoying, but I guess it'll sell like hotcakes to adults who aren't otherwise lego fans. :/ Just wish we could get both those kinds of sets AND system sets instead of the either-or. Acclamator is fine. This ARC-170 better be the greatest thing to grace the toy aisle or I think it's gonna be my first full HY skip in a LONG time.

I agree- I wish we could tone it down to 4-5 dioramas/buildibles per year in total instead of half the waves being made of them. Also, more cheap sets! Marvel, despite other flaws, has been doing a great job with these little $10 sets with two figures and a small build. More of that, please! Same here- it's just a delta with some add-ons, and not $10 of add-ons. Seriously. Bob's fighter already seems pretty overpriced, and we're jumping it up another $5 for fewer parts?

That actually makes a lot of sense as well. I was under the impression that that only replaced the S1-S2 costume. Her S3-5 costume isn't nearly as bad. Why? It's not the most child-friendly thing, but no less than the movies themselves. And it's by far their biggest cash cow in recent years- I honestly can't believe we haven't had it yet. Jedi Bob isn't "out there"? Though I agree in general. While I'm glad the X-wing/TIE pilot set has the standard pilots, we also needed an X-pilot and Tie-Wing pilot in that set instead of two OCs that look like generic civvies. I was going to say "does this scale with the UCS Venator" but a quick google, unless it's made of Duplo, it does not.

That's true, but this one is just such a direct comparison to the previous one. At least the others are different vehicles. This one is just so easy to point out the blatant increase. I almost think this is gonna be a smaller ETA-2 and a vulture droid, but I also think that'd be super hard to pull off with 290 pieces- for an official set, it'd be small enough and have few enough figures that we're back in the same boat value-wise. But at least it's not so obviously overcharged as a direct "the red one is 50% more even though the inflation was only... 21.4%". I did that calculation at the end and... dang. My point stands- lego's still overcharging a ton- but man. 21.4%. In a few years. I am expecting this exact thing in May. It just feels likely. My guess it'll be this or an AT-ST remake.

@NXS7 can see the future. 2025 info starting to leak out, so I'll save us all some trouble and tell you what the next wave is going to be. $14.99: Harley Quinn Mech $37.99: Buildible Superman $44.99: Superman tie-in that would be $30-35 five years ago. Includes Superman, Lex (made of re-used parts) and The Engineer $74.99: Caped Cruscader Batmobile with Batman, Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya. $239.99: UCS The Bat with a TDK batman figure. Just kidding of course- it'll be roughly half the figure counts here, and we won't get any TDK or Caped Cruscader representation

Something is seriously wrong. In 4 years the price jumped 50%. This is not inflation. This is not normal. This set has 42 pieces more than the last interceptor, but unless that's 7 more minifigs, this set is in no way worth it. I'm not a big "it needs a billion figures" or a big PPP guy, but $45, for a set that was $30 four years ago, for what's assumably the same thing- that's the most egregious one I've seen, and that's even considering stuff like the Hoopty and X-jet. Lego's been getting a lot of slack for stuff that doesn't really matter, but this is the big issue. $70 for an ARC could actually be pretty reasonable. Might be a buy from me- I'm a big ARC fan. My big request here is getting three pilots. Midi-scale home one for $70 is pretty solid as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get the executor, which has snowballed into me not really collecting these sets. Though I am glad we're FINALLY getting the exterior of the ship. A playscale one to go against the new ISD would be great, but this is also a good move- albiet one I won't personally buy. $30 4+ mando's N-1 is GENIUS. Great move by lego. Throw in Mando, Grogu, and Moff Gideon and it's like the perfect 4+ set. Two left yet unrevealed- the $50 midi-ship (that's what it's got to be, right?) and the $100 set. My hope is a nice $100 playset or flagship vehicle alongside a small diorama, but I think it's most likely a republic ship for the $50 18+ and a buildible droid of some kind for the $100 set given the PPP. Welcome to eurobricks, though you might want to ask that question in a ninjago thread. I ran the list in my head and I think you're right. They've been good at keeping the OT main cast in sets recently- not necessarily the cheapest ones, but at this point that's no longer realistic. The mandoverse, most prequel or TCW main cast, and even the Rebels and Sequels characters have been done since Dooku. 11 years is NUTS. (On the bright side, he's pretty easy to make a solid purist custom of, but that's a half-measure) Thanks for the info, Foggy. Hope there's a good reason for that interceptor price. If not... this may finally be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me lego-wise. My purchases have already been significantly lower this year. I'll pick up sets, but these prices have brought me past the standard "oh, I'll buy this because it looks cool" that I used to be at. And even then, I have a much easier time just waiting for discounts than before.
