  1. I don't think they did, did they? At least, not on my Throne Room vader or the new Dark Falcon one. He never has yellow eyes in the movies (aside from ROTS on Mustafar, which I know is technically vader but, like, c'mon, you know what I mean when I say vader.), so it makes sense they wouldn't do it for the figure. This is a kind of blindsided argument "people who don't like it are in echo chambers" and people who do like it aren't? I'd add a personal ancedote- which has it's own flaws, but if we're going into echo chambers, it's kind of needed- that I have a pretty big set of people I know in real life who are star wars fans, who live in different geographical areas, have a variety of vastly different views on almost everything, both in star wars (I have "mando is overrated" and "Mando saved the franchise" guys. I have "Obi-Wan was awful" and "it was fun shut up about lore" guys.) and real-world issues. Only 1 or 2 of them made it through more than a few episodes of Acolyte, and NOBODY liked it. I haven't met a single person in real life who enjoys the show. I'm gonna add another x1000 multiplier Aside from this not really being the same as what the jedi do in the PT or TCW, the difference is that Andor is about the "normal people" of the universe and how they radicalize and change sides and do terrible things that will haunt them for the rest of their lives because it's for a cause greater than themselves. Luthen has a whole monologue explaining what becomes the backbone of Andor as a character. He sacrifices his morality because he thinks it's the only way for the empire, an evil, to be defeated. But again, importantly, it's the "normal guys", who are depicted as morally grey. The Jedi are the bricking Jedi. The showrunner's openly spoken about wanting to blur the lines and good and evil not being a clear thing in star wars (in terms of jedi/sith? yes it is. Jedi are light, sith are dark side. This is how it's always been, even down to Lucas saying that the light side is maintaining balance and the dark side destabilizes it, so "balance" doesn't mean equal amounts of light and darkness.). I agree- they realized the shows weren't going super well (IIRC all we know for sure is coming live action show wise is Skeleton Crew, Andor S2, and Ahsoka S2, and I don't think they'd greenlight Skeleton crew if it started today) and are pulling back a bit to reorient. Sort of like what marvel's doing (just hopefully not ending with them announcing Mark Hamill is about to play a body-swapped Palpatine in Star Wars episode X.) I don't know the world you live in where Mando and Acolyte were viewed by the same number of children. Mando can be a little intense, but it's like Infinity war where it's just so overwhelmingly popular parents overlook some of the more violent moments. (And that it's just violence. At least in america, parents tend to be pretty ok with relatively bloodless fantasy violence relative to suggestive content) And even then, Baby Yoda was a phenomenon akin to the release of the original film. I don't care if you think the Acolyte was good, I don't care if you think it's the greatest thing to grace the franchise in decades, you can't say with a straight face that show had anywhere NEAR the level of love as Baby Yoda.
  2. Hahahahaha.... you think this is coming with anyone besides hulk, and maybe 1-2 of our generic villains? (Who are they at this point? We went outrider-aim agents-chitauri- who's right now?) Welp, I'm buying a third iron man mech. 3/6 of my last lego marvel purchases have been (with the other 3 being the NWH diorama, it's expansion, and the war machine mech, which should honestly count as an iron man mech). Say what you will but they know they sell. I would love this, it would fit him so well. *collapses from bullets I'm somehow not faster than* OK he's clearly not coming in physical form, but... TERRAX? Also- he's the star of the show here, right, we HAVE to be getting D-man in physical form... right? Right? They wouldn't do this to us would they?
  3. Turtle CREATED Brickheadz joker. He's the true mastermind. He's "Taking a break" which isn't usually permanent. Though it is sometimes- there used to be this guy with a cartoon frog PFP that was "taking a break" after a whole thing about people pronouncing the bad batch's names like Omega does (untah, tick, icko, etc), and I haven't seen him since. I don't see turtle as the type to go "my bad, I won't do it again, I'm sorry"- unless he is trolling, which I still think is possible-, so this may be the last we see of our hero in a half shell. "Woman" isn't a reinterpretation in the same way as what they're doing with Harley, where it's a significantly different set of motivations, different costume, ETC. If penguin being a woman is needed to make some other aspect of the character or plot make sense, then I'll retract my dislike of it. (It won't be. Even if it's like "I'm woman, these rich jerk guys won't see me as one of them", that's penguin's motivation in half the stuff already, just for physical differences instead of gender) As-is, penguin being woman seems to at best be just to make changes for the sake of making changes, which I will always say is asinine logic. If you're showing us this penguin is different by making it a woman, penguin isn't really different in a way that would impact the story- again, I'd love to be proven wrong on that point-, you're just upsetting comic accuracy for no reason. I'll also add- why not an existing female crime boss? They exist in batman lore. Why not use one of them? I love Long Halloween, I'd have been ESTATIC if that image was of Sofia Falcone taking on Batman. (Which, if anything, makes more sense then penguin, who I don't generally like to see in fisticuffs with Batman. Sofia Falcone is a unit. She is someone I could see giving Bats a fight.) The Falcones and Maronis are usually just name drop mob bosses in adaptions, it'd be nice to get their families in the mix. That's a little better- I really didn't like when it kind of seemed as if he was going to act like "no, MY stuff is still canon", but this is still the main reason I'm not very optimistic about Gunn's leadership. He got rid of Cavill, a man BEGGING for a chance to do his character justice, someone who LOVES the source material of the roles he plays, because of "clean slate" or whatever, but he keeps all his guys on anyway. It feels like a decision made more because he personally directed and was friends with those guys rather than the right decision for the formation of a new cinematic universe.
  4. Wait didn't someone bring up pizza earlier anyway? We've gone full circle. They're for brickheadz joker, searching for the elusive Gold Kryptonite so superman no longer can fly like a bee or use laser eyes (very overpowered) Execute order "taking a break" But seriously, movie aside, the fact that we are getting a superman set- even a mech- is big news. Our first non-batman DC set in almost 5 years by the time it releases. That's CRAZY. The more I think about it, despite not needing another Supes, I'll probably pick it up. I can spare $15 if it helps lego think people will buy sets for DC heroes beyond batman.
  5. My guess is it's Antilles, since the other two are re-uses. Unfortunately, your best option in the US is to get one each for $1-2 plus shipping (so really $6-7 each). If you want a larger quantity, the max I can find undamaged is 10... and at their price, it's better to take the $6-7 each. We're supposed to see Andor as someone who isn't a hero- not yet, anyway. We're supposed to see him do terrible, awful things, first in fear, then for the rebellion. Though it is an interesting point- both shows explore a difference in morality. It's all down to concept and execution- Andor's concept is about the "normal people" and what they do in a galaxy like this, how they're drawn to their side of the war, whereas Acolyte is about the stand-ins for the concepts of good and evil, and plays a lot more fast and loose with things, such as... yeah... the hot tub scene. Qimir's loose adaption of a recent movie intro is probably the only scene in that show I've seen widespread enjoyment of, and his character the only one I've seen widespread "oh, he looks cool" for (they're all wrong by the way. It looks dumb. Sol looks cooler.) so I could expect it- though "seemingly" is important there. Lots of companies simply don't make that much product of certain things they don't expect to do well- for example, PLENTY of somewhat obscure transformers sell out fast and become near-impossible to get secondhand, because they don't make many, but SS86 optimus is still widely availible for pre-order at retail price, despite being the ultimate retail toy of the most popular transformer in his most popular form, simply because Hasbro anticipated this and produced/are producing an absolutely absurd quantity.
  6. Completely agree with both. These changes are unnecessary and stink of a lack of imagination. It's trying to hit quotas or be interesting/"subvert expectations" without, you know, actually doing something new. You can't use an existing female crime boss- say, one who's more around the size and physical combat capabilities of this penguin than the latter, and is criminally underused- for the former, or do something more character related (penguin redemption arc, catwoman crimeboss arc) for the latter? Gunn's a one-trick pony. Sometimes that trick works, but when it's all you do, people'll figure you out eventually. I'm calling it now- the corporate heroes in superman 2025 are going to be retreads of his GOTG/SS/assumably CC tropes, and superman himself, while hopefully in line with the "Truth, justice, and the american way" personality, will likely have issues with his fathers, because that's another Gunn trope. I hadn't seen that image before and was just going off of "penguin is woman" which is lazy but not a big deal... that's pretty rough. It looks like a roided-out Penguin is upset that batman's put lipstick on him while he was sleeping. (Which is another thing- it might just be the angle, but she looks somewhat large and brutish here- why? That doesn't make sense regardless of whether it's Oswald or "Oswalda".) Yeah I agree- it wasn't great but it was clearly just referencing how these companies tend to make existing characters more diverse (I hesitate to imply it's a reference to Batwoman S2 and what happened with the recast and plot there, because I don't think Turtle knows what the CW is and don't really want to listen to him talk about the flash for a billion posts, but it was my first thought when I saw it) Plus like it's turtle- 50% of his posts are ironic and even when he is being serious there's clearly a constant translation/phrasing error somewhere. Actually, I've changed my mind. Turtle, what are your thoughts on the flash? He can run fast. Humans can run fast (to an extent). Bees, to my knowledge, cannot run. Does this make flash more akin to batman, who is also often far stronger than a normal human, or would he be more like Superman (who flies) (like a bee)?
  7. Mando has done some time-sensitive shots already. Cameras are rolling, so I'm now confident THIS star wars movie is actually on track to release within a few years (Not that I wasn't before- it's mando- but we've had a good number of films waffling around for years now)
  8. Yeah, ended Saturday. Really the only SW news we got was for publishing, and even then it wasn't much.
  9. "What do you mean, "you variants?"" "What do YOU mean, "you variants?"" I do think they'd be able to get away with a Wolvie costume based on the movie so long as they don't advertise it as such. If this comes out and is packaged for DP and Wolverine (it won't be) should we have @BrickBob Studpants, like, nibble on a corner of the packaging or something? Clearly it's not a Deadpool fig, so he wouldn't have to eat it, but I feel like if lego does anything for that film he's got to do something He's got the site in italian, I think he's just responding to the quote and the translation isn't coming through right.
  10. That's my bad, I read it wrong. (Which is good, because while it's not morally bankrupt per se and actually has a pretty solid message about past failures not preventing you from doing the right thing, or liking who you are, in the present, Deadpool and Wolverine isn't exactly a paragon of virtue itself either) I dunno, I think it'd be more like P2 rex and P2 Jesse than P2 rex and P1 cody. The bigger thing for me is there's so many helmet options to do besides two similarly colored mandalorian helmets. I agree that Jabba likely won't suffer, but Crumb is an alien and they got him. Get your Lego Batman out of my Lego Star Wars. Just kidding. Lego Star Wars in that scenario still gets 6 play-sets and a number of buildables, much better than lego batman.
  11. Ok, let me be a little more clear here- I am confident Acolyte sets would do poorly. The show was not well received at all. The people who did like it were not children (Children should not watch this show. Like, even more than Andor, this is not a children's show). The only recognizable aspect they have for sets is that the characters use lightsabers, so it's not like some of these other shows where the characters/ships/etc are well known already. As for the second part, Sol is the only design from the show I liked, and I've said before I'd be down for a Sol polybag or him having been an anniversary figure. But I don't think it'd be "well, we can do a playscale Acolyte set or a buildable R2." With how much lego's been pushing buildables, a playscale set based on acolyte would assumably take up the slot of something else playscale, not a helmet or other buildable. (If you really want a Qimir helmet or something, that's fine by me.) This in general is a little more strongly worded than I'd put it, but I agree with the general premise of "Acolyte is a heavily controversial and not well-received show that doesn't appeal to kids so lego doesn't have much of a reason to wade in". As for TLJ, I wouldn't call it morally bankrupt. I disagree with what it did to luke but it still has fundamental ideas of good and evil.
  12. I, uh, I dunno that acolyte sets would be the best financial decision from lego. (Which as a side note, "No acolyte sets have been planned" corresponds well with the showrunner saying no one's talked to her about a second season.) I mean, if someone sees a blurry picture of what appears to be a mando helmet with blue, you could definitely draw either conclusion. Same. If the ARC is phenomenal I might pick it up. That's it. Exactly. Even if we get a playscale/system heavy 2HY, as we tend to, this year is shaping up to be nearly 50/50 standard lego sets to buildables, which is absurd. Sad for those who found something in that show to enjoy, but I'm happy about this. With as few system sets left as we have, I'd prefer for them to be from things most people liked.
  13. THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS! THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT! I'm done. I'm just done. This move reeks of fear and desperation to keep people they've been losing since Endgame. This was the worst possible move. I would honestly have preferred they just rolled ahead with a Kang recast. Shave your mustache, Reed. Or just rip it off and give it to Ross. A character not removing their face cover? in the MCU?
  14. I mean, we're not getting sets off any of the three, so.... A LOT is riding on Superman 2025. If this thing fails, I really do think lego DC has a real chance of being absorbed by Icons. In fact, part of me thinks that one of the only reasons they haven't already done so is that they put out 4+ sets and it'd be weird to have 4+ icons sets. The poor man already feels self-conscious about his appearance, no need to say his head is too misshapen to be a normal minifigure one!
  15. "I don't care what you believe, I believe!" Namely, that last year's May and March waves had more sets+ included standard system sets. Not that that's a gurantee- after all, 2024 was the smallest January wave in ages and 2025's seems mid-sized- but I'd refer you to my first statement. Plus there's no way they're doing Jango and Bo-Katan helmets in the same wave. That HAS to be a leaker getting them confused. As for the march set we do know about, on the one hand, Chopper. On the other, buildable. Are people buying this many? I always assumed the main market for these was non-AFOL adults who wanted a few lego sets around their home or office. They're putting out so many these past few years, especially in the first few months of 2025 alone, that it feels like they're oversaturating their market.
  16. A second wave of my hypothetical transformers line, but the reason I'm here to post is like I've said before, lego's made at least one set for just about every IP I'd want lego to make. Well, I've got a new one. I just finished the first TPB of Void Rivals, and holy cow, I think I'm gonna start an Ideas set immediately! Such a cool new story, something within the Transformers universe and yet concretely it's own thing. But yeah, like I said, here's a hypothetical second wave for mainline lego transformers: Polybag: 6-in-1 Megatron (Robot, Gun, Tank, Cybertronian Jet, earth bomber, helicopter) ($4.99) Buzzsaw and Ratbat ($9.99) Arcee ($22.99) Wheeljack ($29.99) Constructicon Scrapper ($34.99) Ratchet ($36.99) Constructicon Long Haul ($44.99) Shockwave ($44.99) Elita-One vs Skywarp ($64.99) Jetfire ($79.99) Buildable Optimus Prime head ($79.99) UCS The Nemesis ($299.99): Giant buildable Nemesis (doesn't transform) with microscale seeker jet builds. Comes with minifigures of Shockwave, Soundwave, Skywarp, and Thundercracker.
  17. That's fine, but we did get an actual purple rescue. Not bad to get a navy blue one now. "Red and Yellow Red and Yellow Red and Yellow Red and Yellow"
  18. IIRC turtle gave us the Lore Reason very early on, which was simply that since his brain was a few 2x2 bricks instead of just the inside of a minifigure head, he was absurdly intelligent, well beyond that of a twelfth-level.
  19. Yeah- we might not get new characters so to speak, but we've got a good chance at suits people have been asking for since the movie came out. I'd also love a navy blue Rescue. I just don't see that suit as purple in the movie. To be fair, it's the climax of one of the single biggest movies ever made. It's pretty much always going to sell, so it's pretty much always going to get sets.
  20. EXACTLY. Kids aren't going "I want a deadpool figure because I found his connection to Logan's story to be very thought provoking". They're going "haha this guy is a superhero but he makes a lot of crazy jokes in the stuff I've seen him in, and he has a cool suit and swords and guns."
  21. Would a horror movie villain have outpreformed star wars at one of it's most hyped-up points in it's entire lifespan? I think you may be the one missing a distinction there. I think it's a pretty inapplicable anecdote anyway. For one thing, it's not like kids these days don't buy horror-related stuff- shelves by the lego/transformers/hasbro aisle have had large amounts of Five Nights at Freddies merch, or other horror things like something called poppy playtime. Now that's different than Freddy Krueger. But so is deadpool. He's a superhero. He makes constant jokes and has guns and swords and stuff. Kids might not know that he hates himself, or that his power comes from experiments in a horrific program, or that he suffers from cancer. But they sure as hell see funny joke superhero with cool weapons in games, in other merch, in ads, etc. It's more likely they make a movie-esque design because they can get away with slipping him into an unrelated set a lot easier and just claim it's a generic wolverine, but I'd still call that a long shot, and there certainly won't be anything officially based on the film. Which is a shame- a Wolverine with the cowl up in navy blue instead of black would be a great addition to an oscorp modular.
  22. Yeah, that's pretty bad. I haven't hated the pupilless eyes yet, but this has to be the worst one so far.
  23. Some guys STILL trying to ice skate uphill, even when it's clear lego deadpool won't happen. Yeah I mean it's not the godfather, but it's not like the MCU tends to be known for incredible plot. (Though I'd take this plot over most of the post-Endgame stuff) I think Wolverine has a nice character arc. I'm working at a summer camp/class- trust me, kids know who deadpool is. Picking this out of your comment because I think it is a really important distinction that a lot of people don't get.
  24. I'm bringing this up next time I hear people saying that we're totally getting lego deadpool. Loved Deadpool and Wolverine. LFG. Clapped uncontrollably for (not phrased as a spoiler but just in case-) , and I don't clap often unless it's the end of the movie. last time I did was the three spideys moment. But that said, not only do I get why we didn't get sets, I don't think we should. I wouldn't want a kid watching this movie- I mean, they have to drop somewhere in the realm of 100 F-bombs, half of them in the context of parts lego minifigs don't have, and even if the set was marketed as 18+, lego IS a toy brand at the end of the day.
  25. I was about to say that we've had Hugh Jackman Wolverine before. We haven't, I just apparently believe the "hugh is wolverine" thing to the extent that I thought the existing Wolvie figures were somehow based on Hugh.
