The thing is, lego's worried to produce those sets because there isn't much keeping kids interested in DC at the moment. There's no successful film franchise, no kid's cartoon (I mean, until very recently, but I don't think that cartoon really works as something to sell DC merch to kids), kids really aren't the market for comics anymore, etc. This is the answer for not only pringles but 99% of chip brands. Whatever the main flavor is is the main flavor for a reason. Yeah, you really had him down, but still good to have Commando back, fun as it was. Maybe I'll get possessed later on. The thing is batman and joker would absolutely survive driving a tank out of a plane mid-flight or half the other stuff Murdock does. 'S PIZZA, AaaaaAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAA, GET OUT OF MY HEAD! Man the one time Redhoodpug really starts getting into the jokes and we're gonna do this to him? You've been reading this thread, 90% of the posts are jokes, a good number of which mention insanity or the "aslume" (an intentional misspelling of asylum, like Arkham) A lot of us here are autistic, man. Nobody's saying that's insanity. Commando really honed his, I think the best was his post in the marvel thread- completely had the cadance down, even if Turtle would never post about marvel (because it's the enemy of DC and most of the main heroes fly like bees, or are spider-man, who is a bug, like a bee)

I maintain there was no reason for anyone to expect that, we didn't get a dedicated wave of playsets for any of the film anniversaries over the past few years. Which honestly kind of makes sense the more I think about it- kids aren't the ones who are getting hit with the nostalgia of an anniversary. I don't think it'll happen but I'd love a U-wing at like a $130 price point so we can get the two-seater cockpit and more room below. (I was going to say like $100, but the 2016 U-wing, which was $80, would be $105 today at the same size accounting for inflation ) -

I finally received Bumblebee. Man, he's... he's interesting. He reminds me of a G1 toy, with a pretty compromised bot mode but a really nice vehicle mode. Don't get me wrong, I really like him, I just feel like there were some weird choices here. I'm going to try and mod it a bit- I think the shoulders and arms just have to be what they are with this transformation scheme, but I think I can get rid of the partsforming and/or the weird hood/behind the head panel. Clearly a set made with love, though. The stickers are excellent, as are the hidden bees. -
There are three equally likely options here: 1. Batman is seen as some sort of american symbol, so Iran was like "hey, this would be pretty funny I think" 2. Joker walked in and was like "ok, im you're ambassador now", and as Iran lacks a batman they just kind of had to go with it because they didn't want to risk everyone getting jonkled. 3. Joker was bs'ing about being the ambassador and nobody called him out on it because what are you gonna do, tell Joker you know he's not really the Iranian ambassador? Do you think he cares? No, No, No. Schumacher Shadow Box. I'm constantly amused by people deciding to take random specific bits of this thread seriously.

This is incredible! I'm trying not to look at it too much, because I want to do my own Cliffjumper retool, but this is really cool! I especially love all the accessories.

This is a very, very solid imitation. The Bold, the "guys, guys, guys?", etc. At first I thought you meant you were carrying a radioactive green rock around and I was going to advise you to stop doing that. Commando won the battle for the shell, by the way, though I'm interested in whatever @ARC2149Nova's planning.

I left out the stuff that's more opinion-y, but The budget is objectively not small. You might say it feels low budget, which I would heavily disagree with, but we know at the very least the budget of season 1, which was MASSIVE for a TV show. The first season 100% builds a greater story arc. 1-2-3 is a continuous story, as is 7-8, which grabs characters from the episodes beforehand as well. You've at most got 4/5/6 as not directly building a bigger story arc, but they all add characters and plot threads that become important later on. There is absolutely violence and killing in this show, including to people with exposed faces. Mayfield shoots a dude in the cafeteria. An officer kills himself in front of Bo-Katan. And that's just off the top of my head. Yes, most of mando's kills are against stormtroopers, because most of the people he fights are imperials, and their soldiers happen to have closed helmets. That's not a Disney addition- in fact, Lucas was opposed to showing imperial officers be killed. I think that was said back when the same was said about the marvel one, which we now know includes most of the OG avengers cast. My guess would be there's a good shot we see Luke/Han/Leia/Chewie/the droids, or something like Luke/Rey/Anakin/Mando/Grogu I don't know why they'd have stock footage of Zeb flying the Crest, but I guess that's possible. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

No, because that'd be the greatest marvel set of all time. Sorry- he's included in the retail exclusive: Venomized Wolverine ($89.99): Buildible wolverine figure with venom taking over half of it. The price is so high due to it including a whopping 2 figures- Venomized Wolverine, and Wolverized Venomarine. If Hawkeye is present, this immediately becomes a much better fig lineup. I still think making it MCU specific is a bad move (unless it's the Marvel Studios logo), but the film lineup original avengers makes much more sense than the weird hodgepodge we had previously rumored (though Banner should be Hulk, even if it has to be a minifigure IMO, and of course it's gonna be weird if everyone but hawkeye is there) -

I actually have an exclusive June 2025 wave leak- Wolverine Mech ($14.99): Wolverine and Magneto ('97 design with the M) Wolverine's jet ($37.99): Yellow-and-blue jet with Wolverine and Magento (classic comic design) Wolvmobile ($59.99): Sleek yellow-and-brown car with Wolverine (brown and yellow suit), Magneto (classic comics), and Lady Deathstrike (uses the wolverine claws) Wolverine's Cowl ($69.99) UCS Wolverine Bust ($349.99): Wolverine's head and two arms with claws extended (My source says the designers accidentally mixed their marvel and DC plans) -

I've called myself Mandoknight online since before the show was announced. You'd really say Mando is worse than all the saga films? Anyway, my wider point is that star wars has never been known for the movies being The Godfather quality. Yeah, mando and grogu is probably just going to be a fun little adventure without much deep characterization or substance, but I think the same can be said of a few of the movies, too. -

Could you DM me the name, I legitimately don't know what this is. I don't really understand this argument. I'd say a good 90% of fans would say that the mandalorian has been significantly better than some of the prequel and/or sequel films. I really do think that Mando's going to be taking out a smaller group with Pelleon saved for the Filoni Thrawn movie. -

Unless this is a red it, I legitimately don't know what we're talking about. I'll just type out what I remember here, reposted from the news thread, with additional info and sets added. 75401 290 pcs ($44.99) Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor - this allegedly comes with just Ahsoka, her astromech, and Anakin (horrifying, considering the price and piece count) 75402 497 pcs ($69.99) ARC-170 Starfighter 75403 1048 pcs ($99.99) Buildable Grogu and Pram 75404 450 pcs ($49.99) Midi Scale Acclamator (18+) 75405 559 pcs ($69.99) Midi Scale Home One (18+) 75410 92 pcs ($29.99) N-1 Starfighter (4+) - I don't think I've seen anything confirmed, but I'm personally super confident this is Mando's N-1. There's also a buildable star wars logo, which we were told doesn't come with figures, but the marvel logo allegedly does have figures, so we'll see. The dioramas are not dead, but we don't know if that means they'll show up this year- as you're about to see, these sublines can take gap years. Some less certain rumors: Bo-Katan helmet Jango Fett will show up in some capacity. I think this could actually be the "Bo-Katan" helmet, but that's just me. -

I honestly think it's Oscorp next year (unless we see Arkham instead), but I dunno about Asgard unless we get a really solid Thor 5. I just don't know that Asgard's enough to warrant a D2C, or more specifically, if Thor's enough. One of the big three of the MCU he may be, but he's always been #3 in that triumvirate. I think the only non-spidey hero who could handle a solo D2C is MCU Iron Man with the Malibu Mansion/armory. I have wonderful news. My local walmart had the morbius set for $12. Which means not only am I now the proud owner of Lego Morbius (and a spare miles to sit in my spider-man pile until I get around to the spider-verse MOC, and a sick red windshield), but given it somehow made it to more than 50% off, this set- at least at my walmart- bombed, meaning not only did the movie bomb TWICE, but the only morbius-related lego set ALSO BOMBED. -

Sets for Blade? The trilogy from the 90s? There's only ever been one blade. There's only ever gonna be one blade. And he's rated R. Unfortunately, this is the most we're likely to get from netflix/MCU daredevil. That said, -

I loved this trailer. Lots of memes/in-jokes about the franchise, Jedi Bob sounds and acts exactly how he should, I totally agree. Glad to see that ship, too. RTG, Skeleton Crew, or Mando and Grogu? Like yeah, skeleton crew seems more kid-focused, but it's not the first star wars project to do so (YJA, for instance, though my guess is tonally SK's gonna be more like early CW/Rebels/Resistance) I think it's the latter. Pallaeon's remnant group has to be the one Thrawn merges with, I think we're gonna see Thrawn planning this out so that Mando and the NR pick off his opponents within the empire. Great to see snowtroopers again, too! -
My favorite qoute from Face. I also don't remember the name but I've seen the wave. I'm not opposed to it, but I do think it'd be a hard sell to kids, as a lot of them were just segments of the building. I think a modular would do better with the older intended market. That said, to get a respectable fig count, we'd need to start with a wave or two of batman sets that actually include new figures and characters beyond Batman, Joker, Harley, and Batgirl.

Even for '97, I'd prefer Jubilee, to be honest. I hadn't even CONSIDERED Villains, but yeah, we ONLY have magneto and some sentinels. Sinister, Sabertooth, Mystique (who barely counts as a villain half the time), Onslaught, etc. This is absolutely true, though they seemed to somewhat randomly default to comic-based figures. The aforementioned thor, for example, isn't really based on his Avengers Assemble design. -
Either he was trolling us all and admitted it to the mods thinking it would set him free, or a true Aslume Warden either fully committed to the bit or just an actual Jonkler, and in any of the three scenarios I could easily see him saying that. We've been talking in the marvel thread about the potential for the Daily Planet or Arkham- because of course that thread's more on-topic for DC than the DC thread- and I honestly think Modular Arkham in the next few years is really likely. I still don't think we'll see the planet anytime soon- aside from the other superhero news building not retiring until the end of next year, I just don't think lego has enough faith in superman- but the marvel modulars are doing well. Lego makes Batman D2Cs. The ideas should logically crossover, even if the Shadow Box did poorly. (Which- I think it didn't do great, but nowhere near as poorly as, like, the hulkbuster D2C. Pretty speculative though, if anyone remembers exactly what sales it's been on, that'd be helpful) And to keep posting something stupid in honor of our fallen jonkler-in-a-half-shell, I think in 2025 we should get a Deathstroke and Catman set with the build being a 2008 Honda Odyssey.

I'm drooling. One of the best modern lineups for the avengers too- the big three, the-at the time- next big three (T'Challa, Carol, Strange), some absolute wild cards with Blade and Ghost Rider, etc. Would have preferred Bruce to Jen, as well as Ant-Man and Wasp to be present (In place of GR and Blade if need be- they can go to the midnight sons), but it was a really nice lineup and the mountain itself- which we even got a cross-section schematic of IIRC- would make an AWESOME set. -

No way this happens. Two superhero skyscrapers in the same year, including an overlap with two superhero news buildings available at the same time? no way. My money is still on Oscorp 2025 and Arkham 2026. "the roof" being the nickname of 20th century fox producers over the past two decades, of course. He fell into a second vat of electric eels and lost his powers. Now he's just a guy who's really into EVs and electricity. Honestly, I'd prefer we don't get Morph if it cuts out pretty much anyone else. There are so many more iconic X-men we don't have yet, and with the number of figs rumored, we aren't getting them all anyway. That last part is why I don't think we see it next year. I don't think they'd have the compound and tower on shelves at the same time, since they're both MCU based avengers buildings with a number of Endgame figs. The Mansion's more likely... come to think of it, we are getting a number of comic-based avengers sets this january... (I don't think we'll actually see this anytime soon, too similar to the x-mansion.) -
Gone but not forgotten. RIP, the one true Jonkler. May we all Jonkle on in his name. He was the warden of the aslume. He will be missed. Without him, discussion might actually return to normal.... I can't say that last part with a straight face. Unless he said something worse later, I think it was just him complaining about female penguin by implying the next show would feature a batman with the demographics of S2 batwoman from CW. Not really ban-worthy IMO, but as others have pointed out, his "taking a break" status would have led to turtle talking to a moderator, which while a conversation I would pay to read, would never have ended well. My vote's still for microfig joker, I feel like it still has to be official lego, but if someone owns the morbius minifigure and wants to put his head on a joker body, I think that could work too.
