We're pretty close. How much were the Hoopty and X-jet, again? Wait I didn't mention deadpool (though if lego was going to make a figure of him, he certainly has a unique enough place in the universe to warrant a fig in the logo set)

Lego has seemingly decided that they have three markets: 1. Well-to-do kids (or more accurately, their parents) who will buy anything lego star wars that they recognize, and aren't bothered enough by some of these price increases to be turned off from the sale. 2. Adults who aren't AFOLs per se, and will buy buildable characters, helmets, and ships, but no figure-based or system sets 3. The rabid clone fans who army-build anything with a clone regardless of how much they might complain about imperfections Now maybe this is how the market is shaking out, but I can't help but feel they're isolating fans like most of us on this forum, as well as the not-insignificant market of kids and parents who would look at a $45 jedi starfighter as the cheapest set of the wave and either not be able to afford it or choose something more worth the value. It's crazy to me that we had Boba and a stormtrooper on the logo in 1999 but they didn't show up in that year.

I mean, Lego Man, right guys? I love being vaguely in-touch with the comics world but not reading any specific titles at the moment (aside from Skybound Transformers). I know Waller's up to something big, and that it has something to do with erasing superheroes (and that currently a story about a 40 year old spider-man allied with an iron man-esque Green Goblin is outselling the mainline spider-man comics just because the writers don't have a burning desire to make Peter's life miserable in the former one), but no specifics. It's a lot of fun. I swear we make this joke every time someone mentions henchmen/goons. Which is very in-character for this forum. I like the name, that's cool. Someone needs to start keeping track of all these.

Would have liked that too. For the MCU that would have been great, though I still assume the logo is just gonna say "marvel", and therefore that it should have some presence of non-MCU characters. Regardless of how dumb that is as lego's requirement, it doesn't make the figure choices any less weird. Fury makes a little sense as the organizer of the avengers, but I think BP would be a better choice as someone who had an MCU breakout in popularity almost as strong as Iron Man. More importantly, Black Widow is a founding Avenger with her own movie. Why is Scarlet Witch in here instead of her? And for that matter, why are we doing MCU only? Does the logo say Marvel Studios? This might turn the marvel subforum into the DC one.

When the mech comes out you gotta do a stock photo of supes in the mech. Oh man, I couldn't imagine giving each rebel trooper a name and backstory. I have vauge markups for each legion (the grey RO uniforms with long rifles and dark tan endor helmets are the Mountaineering Corps, resistance trooper torsos with the buckles+ the breathing mask parts (or heads with printed filters/masks) and those same dark tan endor helmets form the Desert Corps, my Fleet Troopers are of course Fleet Troopers, I have a group of ragtags and a group of wookiees, etc), but individual troopers, I'd have to write it all down or something or I'd forget.

I did say it was a stretch. The die is cast. @NoOneOfImportance, you can replace my quote with his (since there was indeed a non-malak plushie KOTOR tie-in released) I agree- unfortunately likely won't be three pilots, but it'll be at least three figs. Did he follow through with it?

Fun fact they actually called the 2001 series "Car Robots" in japan. I mean Camero Bee is iconic, I just don't think they'd be able to transform. Aside from the too-realistic faces, I love the designs. Orion Pax/Optimus Prime has one of the best Optimus redesigns... ever? Distinct enough from G1 that it's it's own thing, but retaining my favorite carry-overs from the G1 design (color blocking, shoulder pipes, head shape).

That's an awful lineup. I guess the trinity is good, but scarlet witch is a bad pick. Why not Spider-Man? Or Black Widow or Hawkeye, if we're going MCU avengers lineup? For that matter, so is Nick Fury IMO, and 100% Bruce if it's him. He'd just look like some guy and it's not a creator like if they put Feige or Lee in (or Lucas or Filoni in the SW one). We have a minifig Hulk in circulation, why not use that? What I'd do (if it was MCU specific): Kevin Feige, Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man What I'd do for re-uses for marvel in general instead of just MCU: Spider-Man (the current non-mcu suit), Wolverine (CMF or X-jet suit), Hulk (From 4+ set), Iron Man (Endgame suit), Black Panther (from shuri's lab) What I think it should be since they should be able to do an exclusive fig or two: Stan Lee, Spider-Man, Hulk (minifigure), Wolverine, Mr. Fantastic.

Watch the superman set use a classic yellow smiley. Though I guess those are a lot more rare to see in new sets nowadays. Yeah, I tend to use it for random imperial officers and rebel troopers. I REALLY don't like that. On it's face it's such a penny-pinching move, because the real goal is to prevent people from buying one set for the printed tiles and bricklinking the other parts, which are pretty common, to not have to shell out more for more copies. I can't believe THE lego batman just confirmed that the real lego batman was the jonks we made along the way.

We're a little better right now because we actually got news of a set based on a character besides batman, but it's pretty bad. "There are more of us, Poe" That rumor was for a headhunter IIRC, but what I am confident I remember correctly is that it wasn't a rumor so much as a BS "leak". It wasn't real. This is true and makes me sad. :( Sure, stuff like Peridea exists, but this isn't a fig-focused set. Maybe 4 figs and an astromech, but even that's stretching it.

Now that I could get behind (Or rather, get the figure behind a transformer's gun's trigger) Actually, you know what? Let's do a (Spoilers for I think issue 3, but anyone vaugely in the orbit of transformers has likely seen the panel revealing it by now. It's already up there with Marvel G1's "all are dead" in terms of iconic panels) expansion for Optimus with Skybound Sparky, Spike, and Carly. Or just anything Skybound. Yup, by far the best beetle alt mode. I'm not a partsforming guy, but I really don't think there was a way around it.

I can't articulate my dislike of this enough. Lego should not be making instructions app-only. POV: You're Lex scoffing at a superman speech about "truth, justice, and the american way", "hope", or "doing the right thing". I was crazy once. They locked me in an aslume. A plastic Aslume. With a turtle. I mean if the 1 is *building a lego set* and the 0 is not doing that, then it absolutely would be how consent works. Not the Jim Starwars head, anything but that!

Oh how I wish the return of the SW helmet line was Palpatine's hooded face. I think the constraction line's not dead yet, as nice as that would be. I don't think it's done super well, I don't think anyone but Iron Man, Spider-men, and Venom even have a shot at doing well, but I also don't think Cap, Wolvie, etc were long enough ago or shelfwarmed spectacularly enough for them to cancel the 2025 sets. Also, has anyone noticed lego's weird recent tendency to stray from minifigure/system sets in licensed themes? We were talking about all the 18+ sets in the star wars thread, and I'm just realizing marvel doesn't just do the same thing with their 18+ sets, it does the same thing with their kids sets.

Yeah. I'm gonna see how much it'll cost to remake the figure in red, especially since I just picked up the first Skybound/Energon Universe TPB today, and it's not only great but prominently features Cliff. No problem and yeah, the WFC trilogy guy. Far as I know it's the best Beetle Bee they've done. That said, I've just pre-ordered the SS86 Optimus Prime, so I think I'll probably end up getting the SS86 Bumblebee just for consistency.

Given that we had a venom mech last year, I can't imagine we'd get symbiote spidey mech this year- it'd be to similar unless it's symbiote spider-man in a red and blue mech, which I don't think they do. Though tbh I think they know perfectly well how much we want a symbiote spidey and are saving him for Oscorp or whatever the next spidey D2C is. As I questioned earlier, I think it's possible this is a minifig red hulk, since the price seems suspiciously good for a set with two cars, at least two minifigs, and a bigfig. I don't think these are the actual names. The one set, for instance, is 100% going to be something like "Avengerstm takedown: Iron Mantm in Iron Car and Black Panthertm in Panthermobile vs the Red Hulktm"

I don't think it would directly eat into profits much, I think it's probably shelf space that they're worried about. That said, a lot of retailers near me just stock the 18+ star wars sets by the icons and stuff anyway, so I dunno. I mean, I think it would be a pretty dumb move for lego to intentionally make a set they think will flop. Taking risks is one thing, but that's another. Clearly they're waiting for the RTG trailer two to reveal the most important character, Mon Cala Clone.

8 in 1 batman brickheadz day is a blasphemous insult to Prime Day. Which in turn has become too commercialized. He died for you, people! (In case people can't see the image, it's the scene in the 1986 transformers film where Optimus Prime dies.) I don't know that I agree. I feel like given how little focus anyone other than batman gets, a comic-based superman set implies they aren't planning on going as hard for the Superman movie. I can't see them suddenly turning around and putting out both film and comic sets for non-batman heroes across multiple waves after nothing for years.

Yeah, it's supposed to look more like his cartoon design, but I don't see it a ton in alt-mode. It's due to them not getting the beetle license. If you're looking for a beetle bee (especially to go with that incredible new Commander Class SS86 Optimus Prime), I'd suggest trying to track down the Netflix Bumblebee. He's pretty rare, so I haven't managed to pick him up, but he's by far the most accurate beetle bee in alt-mode, at the expense of partsforming. Eh, we have a total of two sets to talk about, I think it's fine for us to stray a bit. I look forewords to receiving my bumblebee soon though, it'll let me get started on a Cliffjumper retool. Though it might stay digital-only, I dunno if I have the space for a full cast of these guys.

He consequently built a mech suit- something very realistic- to beat up lex luthor, a man who actually became a good dude once superman depowered. 76301: NO WHY STOP PLEASE IT'S BEEN 1.5 YEARS WHY? 76302: Superman legacy might not be on the menu, boys. 76303: Ah, c'mon. Are you kidding me, a new tumbler? It hasn't been that long! However, the figures are really going to make this one tempting once it hits discount- I still don't have a TDK Joker and would LOVE a TDK two-face.

That was a great set of posts I'm not gonna lie. Or if someone throws another moon at you? 1: Solid. I bought the last two iron man mechs and will probably get this, I just like collecting the suits 2: Also solid. If the anti-venom figure is great and it's a new spidey design, I might pick it up. 3: This is becoming the ninjago car/mech/jet trope. Hope there's a new figure because that lends possibility to an Oscorp. 4: This concerns me that the Cap 4 set is cancelled. However, a $35 set with two cars, two figures, and a big fig seems suspiciously well priced, so it might be a minifig red hulk. 5: Awesome. Hope they really do look like the movie versions. 6: 7: Probably the only non $15 set here I'm gonna get. I like these black base dioramas and love civil war so it's a good combo for me. I've said before this is the hint that more is coming. If the Venomized set has a new character, and if it's a new Spidey design, I think the way is clear. I don't think it means we'll get one, but it means there is a path towards one if lego has chosen to take it.

I agree on the general point that we get too many, but it's important to note that we aren't the ones it's for. The buildables and collectibles are meant for adults who don't buy other lego sets, like the ones who view system ones as too "kiddie" and just want a desk thing. You're the only one at this point I consider 100% reliable. Don't think you've ever had something that didn't pan out- pending the 1984 one, though I still think it's possible that's related to lego cracking down rather than an upcoming set.

Ironically a new Robin minifigure would be an absolute win.

I think the issue was it was significantly smaller than most people wanted it to be. It's a struggle to fit just the core 5 characters into it. It's the main hero ship of the show, it's a shuttle, etc, I think people were expecting more than a $100 set where a significant chunk of the set's bricks went to speeder bikes.
