  1. I can't articulate my dislike of this enough. Lego should not be making instructions app-only. POV: You're Lex scoffing at a superman speech about "truth, justice, and the american way", "hope", or "doing the right thing". I was crazy once. They locked me in an aslume. A plastic Aslume. With a turtle. I mean if the 1 is *building a lego set* and the 0 is not doing that, then it absolutely would be how consent works. Not the Jim Starwars head, anything but that!
  2. Oh how I wish the return of the SW helmet line was Palpatine's hooded face. I think the constraction line's not dead yet, as nice as that would be. I don't think it's done super well, I don't think anyone but Iron Man, Spider-men, and Venom even have a shot at doing well, but I also don't think Cap, Wolvie, etc were long enough ago or shelfwarmed spectacularly enough for them to cancel the 2025 sets. Also, has anyone noticed lego's weird recent tendency to stray from minifigure/system sets in licensed themes? We were talking about all the 18+ sets in the star wars thread, and I'm just realizing marvel doesn't just do the same thing with their 18+ sets, it does the same thing with their kids sets.
  3. Yeah. I'm gonna see how much it'll cost to remake the figure in red, especially since I just picked up the first Skybound/Energon Universe TPB today, and it's not only great but prominently features Cliff. No problem and yeah, the WFC trilogy guy. Far as I know it's the best Beetle Bee they've done. That said, I've just pre-ordered the SS86 Optimus Prime, so I think I'll probably end up getting the SS86 Bumblebee just for consistency.
  4. Given that we had a venom mech last year, I can't imagine we'd get symbiote spidey mech this year- it'd be to similar unless it's symbiote spider-man in a red and blue mech, which I don't think they do. Though tbh I think they know perfectly well how much we want a symbiote spidey and are saving him for Oscorp or whatever the next spidey D2C is. As I questioned earlier, I think it's possible this is a minifig red hulk, since the price seems suspiciously good for a set with two cars, at least two minifigs, and a bigfig. I don't think these are the actual names. The one set, for instance, is 100% going to be something like "Avengerstm takedown: Iron Mantm in Iron Car and Black Panthertm in Panthermobile vs the Red Hulktm"
  5. I don't think it would directly eat into profits much, I think it's probably shelf space that they're worried about. That said, a lot of retailers near me just stock the 18+ star wars sets by the icons and stuff anyway, so I dunno. I mean, I think it would be a pretty dumb move for lego to intentionally make a set they think will flop. Taking risks is one thing, but that's another. Clearly they're waiting for the RTG trailer two to reveal the most important character, Mon Cala Clone.
  6. 8 in 1 batman brickheadz day is a blasphemous insult to Prime Day. Which in turn has become too commercialized. He died for you, people! (In case people can't see the image, it's the scene in the 1986 transformers film where Optimus Prime dies.) I don't know that I agree. I feel like given how little focus anyone other than batman gets, a comic-based superman set implies they aren't planning on going as hard for the Superman movie. I can't see them suddenly turning around and putting out both film and comic sets for non-batman heroes across multiple waves after nothing for years.
  7. Yeah, it's supposed to look more like his cartoon design, but I don't see it a ton in alt-mode. It's due to them not getting the beetle license. If you're looking for a beetle bee (especially to go with that incredible new Commander Class SS86 Optimus Prime), I'd suggest trying to track down the Netflix Bumblebee. He's pretty rare, so I haven't managed to pick him up, but he's by far the most accurate beetle bee in alt-mode, at the expense of partsforming. Eh, we have a total of two sets to talk about, I think it's fine for us to stray a bit. I look forewords to receiving my bumblebee soon though, it'll let me get started on a Cliffjumper retool. Though it might stay digital-only, I dunno if I have the space for a full cast of these guys.
  8. Why should he? He's beaten the Cosmic Treadmill for best flash vehicle. Does the minifigure at least look like it's wearing a power suit or is this "superman appears to be squashing a civilian"? "Open the window, Luthor" Lore reason: He's taken @legoturtle's advice and de-powered himself so he no longer has laser eyes and can't fly like a bee. He consequently built a mech suit- something very realistic- to beat up lex luthor, a man who actually became a good dude once superman depowered. 76301: NO WHY STOP PLEASE IT'S BEEN 1.5 YEARS WHY? 76302: Superman legacy might not be on the menu, boys. 76303: Ah, c'mon. Are you kidding me, a new tumbler? It hasn't been that long! However, the figures are really going to make this one tempting once it hits discount- I still don't have a TDK Joker and would LOVE a TDK two-face.
  9. That was a great set of posts I'm not gonna lie. Or if someone throws another moon at you? 1: Solid. I bought the last two iron man mechs and will probably get this, I just like collecting the suits 2: Also solid. If the anti-venom figure is great and it's a new spidey design, I might pick it up. 3: This is becoming the ninjago car/mech/jet trope. Hope there's a new figure because that lends possibility to an Oscorp. 4: This concerns me that the Cap 4 set is cancelled. However, a $35 set with two cars, two figures, and a big fig seems suspiciously well priced, so it might be a minifig red hulk. 5: Awesome. Hope they really do look like the movie versions. 6: 7: Probably the only non $15 set here I'm gonna get. I like these black base dioramas and love civil war so it's a good combo for me. I've said before this is the hint that more is coming. If the Venomized set has a new character, and if it's a new Spidey design, I think the way is clear. I don't think it means we'll get one, but it means there is a path towards one if lego has chosen to take it.
  10. I agree on the general point that we get too many, but it's important to note that we aren't the ones it's for. The buildables and collectibles are meant for adults who don't buy other lego sets, like the ones who view system ones as too "kiddie" and just want a desk thing. You're the only one at this point I consider 100% reliable. Don't think you've ever had something that didn't pan out- pending the 1984 one, though I still think it's possible that's related to lego cracking down rather than an upcoming set.
  11. Ironically a new Robin minifigure would be an absolute win.
  12. And if they don't want to do a full new Joe franchise right off the bat.... Welcome to the Energon Universe, my friend. Speaking on that, I know we technically get transformers sets, but I wouldn't mind some that are actually affordable for children and let us get a solid number out there. I dunno if they'd be transformable (I feel like transformation with core class level articulation and alt-mode design shouldn't be impossible for figures the size of, say, the constraction figures), but whether they're that or 2-in-1s, maybe something like this: Polybag: 2-in-1 Optimus Prime ($4.99) Ravage and Rumble ($9.99) Bumblebee ($22.99) Starscream ($37.99) Optimus Prime ($44.99) Megatron ($44.99) Soundwave ($49.99): Comes with Laserbeak and Frenzy Grimlock ($59.99) (Store exclusive) Cliffjumper vs Thundercracker ($59.99) Ultra Magnus ($99.99) Buildable Matrix of Leadership ($69.99) UCS The Ark ($299.99): Giant buildable Ark (doesn't transform) with microscale transformer builds. Comes with minifigures of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream.
  13. Joker Mech ($14.99): Joker from the juniors set Superman Tie-in ($37.99): Superman, Lex Luthor Batmobile vs The Joker ($79.99): Batmobile with Batman (new generic comic design with the newer cowl) and Joker (new generic comic design) Kidding of course- the $37.99 set is clearly Batman vs the Joker (4+): A bat-cycle and Joker-cycle.
  14. I think the issue was it was significantly smaller than most people wanted it to be. It's a struggle to fit just the core 5 characters into it. It's the main hero ship of the show, it's a shuttle, etc, I think people were expecting more than a $100 set where a significant chunk of the set's bricks went to speeder bikes.
  15. I'm working in an area where I can't get mail delivered directly, so I'm stuck bumblebeeless until saturday. Looking forewords to obtaining him, though! That's a pretty reasonable reaction to the figure from what I've seen, and to be fair to lego even some of the more recent bumblebee figures partsform, like the Netflix edition one. For regular transformers, a deluxe class ($25, kinda small but not super small) G1 bee should have either just released or will come out any day now. Look for SS86 Bumblebee.
  16. Why would we get Jango and Bo helmets at the same time? I mean, I'm sure it's possible, but given that they share somewhat similar colors, I'd be surprised. I don't think so- I don't know why disney would be opposed to or even need to sign off on that. I don't know if lego's ever confirmed it, but as the number of non-playsets increased, the number of playsets decreased. I doubt that's a coincidence.
  17. I can't believe legoturtle drank the Water of Life to see the narrow way through for Lego DC. I don't blame them for wanting to be careful. The theme's in a bad state now, but if they made a significant number of DCU sets and the movies failed, that's catastrophic for a theme this close to the edge.
  18. Imperial Foe I'm a sucker for these black-base sets, though I think I'll wait for a discount on the AoU one- I don't think it's too overpriced, it's just not a day-one for me. CA:CW is definitely a great choice for this line.
  19. It feels like lego's splitting the line into sets meant for adults who aren't necessarily Afols in the traditional sense and (given the prices, wealthy) younger children, with TFOLs and AFOLs being lost in the shuffle. What's especially concerning to me is that this is looking more and more like a full 1HY 2025 lineup as opposed to just a january wave. We didn't have many standard sets in january 2024 either, but they trickled out over the half-year. This is TWO standard system sets. Two. And the cheapest is $45.
  20. I mean, it's an astromech. If it looks different and has a different name it's really not the same character. I dunno that it's to that extent, but I certainly wouldn't put it past them to spread slightly different info to different sources to try and sniff out leakers. I wouldn't say it's to the extent he's suggesting, but I think the general idea is possible, especially if you consider leakers may communicate with eachother to back stuff up. If one guy's source says the UCS is a sail barge, and the other says it's an MBS Endor, it's pretty easy to tell Lego's trying something. But it's a lot easier to give out slightly different info on a set that actually is in active development, and use those minor differences to sniff out leakers. I'm not saying that's what's going on- R2-KT to QT-KT could easily have been from a leaker not super familair with star wars seeing the fig and just googling "pink R2-D2", and I personally think it's likely Enoch WAS considered for the Peridea set at some point- but I think it's possible, and makes logical sense for a company that literally has anti-leak personnel to do.
  21. This is gonna be my only mention of what's clearly a fake leaker. You're giving him what he wants by responding at all- technically, so am I, but hopefully me saying this gets others not to engage. Don't let him besmirch the image of Rebel Friend. Honestly not opposed to getting one in the black base diorama style. Civil War is one of my favorite MCU movies, so getting a diorama style representation of that would be fun for me.
  22. I'm not saying this was your point, but I've seen a general sentiment that TPM was somehow skipped over this year, and I feel that's really not the case. It got just as much as the other anniversaries have in their years. (Also, I'm getting tired of these anniversaries. Two in 2023, two in 2024. Next year is 20 for ROTS, 10 for TFA, 45 for ESB, etc. It makes the sets feel less special.)
  23. Figure re-usage wise it's fine, but they aren't going to become the next Jedi Bob or Rebel friend. And so it is, albeit one who's coloring is actually white and pink like R2-KT instead of the QT-Kirby minifigure. Same, we've heard so many random details about this set, and none of them feel concrete to me- especially considering the one constant we had is gone.
  24. I'd be fine with the Enoch-to-night trooper pipeline if lego ended up deciding they couldn't do him well enough without a new mold and didn't want to use that much of the set/wave's budget on one. This is different to me because R2-KT would be no more difficult than QT-KT. And we know they weren't just worried about how it would look putting a charity-created character in a marketable product, because they're literally doing so this coming wave of sets. I also agree on that- she's too dark of a pink.
  25. While I agree with the general sentiment, I do think the actual fully OC characters in this are pretty lame. The ones like white vader or darth jar jar, where they represent things beyond just lego, are cool, but every OC post Jek is just... some human civilian looking person. Darth Dev looks intimidating but also just like a generic inquisitor. I think a lot of the lego OCs work because they either aren't intended to be big OC things and star wars fans latch onto them in the classic star wars spirit of wanting to know more about that slightly different guy in the background (Rebel friend, moustache trooper, jedi bob), or they just do something totally crazy (Jek being a force sensative clone trooper with an arm, like, made of the force or something) This is what confuses me. I've been wanting (and since I joined the site, advocating for in the future sets threads) for a big starbird with the main players of the rebellion (and same for the imperial cog, republic cog, jedi symbol, etc) since the minifigure stand in the UCS Helicarrier. But a star wars logo doesn't interest me. 99% of my collection is star wars, I don't need to advertise that it is. And I don't really see how anyone, existing lego fan or not, would rather have the star wars logo than a ship or faction logo or vader mosiac or what have you. Unfortunately it appears to be that way. Not just looks like- it is. This isn't R2's design with pink instead of blue, this is a fully pink droid with the D-squad caution stripes. I'm actually pretty annoyed. I overlooked the whole "final anniversary fig is an astromech" thing due to R2-KT's special place in the fandom, but this is just... some random astromech. It's not even the SECOND most iconic D-squad droid. This can't be the case as they put her in the droid builder set that comes out next month.
