LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sand blue had the reverse effect on me. This went from a "eh the figures look cool but I won't care about the build so I'm not shelling out $100" to "the build would be using a rare color and probably introduce a lot of new parts (for that color), maybe I should get it" I don't know if "hey look, we've got more disabled guys, this dude has a screwdriver arm" would be a huge PR win. I also don't think they really "dipped", they do have a couple wheelchair figures per year, and not many disabilities require new molds or would show visible differences besides like, changing the color of an arm or leg to represent a prosthetic, which is easy enough to do if someone wants a lego figure with prosthetic limbs. The wheelchair was the only one that was really difficult to represent at minifigure scale without new molds. I mean, But this makes me think that either it happens REALLY early on, like in the premiere, or that it's a lot more complicated than we all think it is. Personally I'm pretty excited for the shuttle now, the figure selection sounds great though I hope BB armor crosshair will show up somewhere eventually, and sand blue is a nice way to make the set unique. There aren't any great shots of the havoc marauder yet, I could totally buy that it's a sand blue in the BB show. Maybe they even give it a paint job or something to differentiate from the empire. -

Yeah, we might even get kenobi news or a BoBF trailer, too. Yeah, june. Speaking of the BB set, it's rumored on instagram that the set includes hunter's speeder from the trailer and they all use existing helmet molds besides tech. Honestly this seems fine, Hunter and Echo would look fine with normal P2 helmets and wrecker could use the invincible iron man helmet. Only one I'm worried about is crosshair, as I'm not sure if the ARC helmet is still a part available to designers, so we might not get his rangefinder. -

I don't think lego is going to avoid TLJ sets, lol. People DESPISED the prequels when they first released, and we got plenty of prequel sets even before later seasons of TCW recontextualized the prequel films and improved people's public opinion of them. Lego doesn't avoid making sets because some people don't like the films (they save that for when a couple blue checkmarks on twitter who've most likely never purchased legos or seen star wars say jabba's palace is racist or slave leia is sexist ). Good point, I could have sworn that the 2016 set had an interior but it turns out it really didn't aside from a tiny facade. That does sound like a cool set idea. What is a phase 2.5 clone? The anti-insurgant troopers in BB with the green visors? TROS wave: -

In an attempt to move the conversation back on topic (If we keep discussing this guy he gets what he wants), anyone else think they'll reveal the bad batch lego set around may 4th, to coincide with the premiere? maybe a "mando monday" type thing where the merch is shown off a few days before the show? -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I kinda stopped collecting marvel recently, but the figures are great this year! Definitely picking up a punisher figure from bricklink and getting the spider-captain figure, and I'm probably going to get that shang-chi polybag as well. -

Yesssssssssssssssss. We need statues of characters other than droids and yodas. You took that "kong" troll down in like 3 minutes, that's nothing to apologize for! Keep up the good work! -

Update: I used stud.io to design a tx-130 hovertank using mine and @Per_SW's 501st alternative builds as inspiration. Also pictured is an AT-RT made off my AT-RT design again from the 501st mods. -

It would be waaaaaaay to big to be only $70, it'd have to be hundreds of dollars. I also doubt that we'll ever see star wars figures in the style of those weird giant lego harry potter figures. It seems much more likely that they'd just do one to look like the character itself, not a giant lego minifigure. -

I mean (and avoiding spoilers) there's a scene in Falcon and the Winter Soldier involving a truck, helicopter, and most of the main characters, and if you look at lego marvel all they make are trucks and helicopters! I think a star wars D+ series could work not instead of sets, but in conjunction with them, especially since there's going to be so many shows coming. Yeah, he was just a troll, disregard his info. -

Mods, can we do something about this guy? EDIT: Thanks! We've seen the set leaks, it's about the same size as the 2012 one. Dude's a troll, he listed his country as "F#$kland" EDIT: Ladies and gentlemen....we got em. -
What are some Star Wars sets that TLG could never produce?
Mandalorianknight replied to Pdaitabird's topic in LEGO Star Wars
..why? even if the shuttle doesn't have helmets, WHICH WE DO NOT KNOW YET, they'd definitely do their helmets within the next year or two. This doesn't make any sense, it's not something they'd never produce, it's just cynicism based on very sketchy rumors. -

It was one of those things where a fake leak turned into speculation that then became a "real" leak, if I remember correctly. I believe a fake leak or mock-up of a BB shuttle set was posted on #legoleaks and in it the figures didn't have their helmets. Then people started speculating it might not happen, and just like the 2021 death star two, a fake leak became a "real" rumor. Unlike the 2021 DS2, this is actually possible, though I wouldn't bet on it. Is this speculation, or are you saying this is happening? I mean, bad batch and BoBf are this year, plus they could do stuff for mando and clone wars s7, and Andor and/or kenobi aren't far off either. -
LEGO Star Wars the bad batch set rumors
Mandalorianknight replied to GermanLad's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not trying to minimod, but you might want to take this down as mods could easily construe it as either a post that belongs in the discussion thread or an attempt to circumvent the currently locked discussion thread. (I don't want to continue the discussion you started because of the above reasons, but I will say that the only BB set we know of is the shuttle, and there are leaked images of a Dark Pearl Gray P2 clone helmet most likely belonging to hunter) -

So we aren't getting them as figures soon... sad. 12 figures, four shows. I LOVE the punisher figure, he looks great! Definitely going to bricklink him, one of my top 5 favorite superheroes. -

It wasn't even the duel, which would have been interesting, it's just the tractor beam thing and cannon. And Lawyers! ...yeah, there are a lot of prequel era sets this year. This upcoming wave is plurality TCW which is prequel era, and yeah ofc there's the gunship too. -

Again, and once again I say this as someone who finds MandR pretty annoying most of the time, I think he's just trolling. No way they fit all the seats in there for $30. Given the massive amount of prequel sets this wave already, I'm guessing a smaller TROS or OT set. -

I say this as someone who is NOT a fan of MandR, I'm like 95% sure that he was joking. Speaking of these leaks, does anyone know the gunship release date? -

---snowspeeder was not the exclusive------ So clearly some people know what it is, and just can't say specifically for fear of their sources being found out. New R2 looks great, significant improvement on the already superb 2012 set. The lightsaber popper function and lucasfilm 50th plaque are nice additions, too. -

I think he's just a troll looking at his PFP and comments. ----- SpiderJazz was not the imposter------ -------------------------------------------------- ----------one imposter remains--------------- Is the daredevil leak fake? (the one that has almost identical printing to the video game figure) I assume so, and kind of hope so given I'm hoping the figure will be dark red, but if they want to get that classic comic look I'd guess it'll be bright red. -

Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In 2016 there was actually a pretty similar set to the 2014 cantina, except it was maz's castle. I assume a venator would be from ROTS, not clone wars, as we've never had a TV show UCS set, and I don't believe we'll ever have one for a cartoon. Last Jedi Wave -

Yeah, they're heavily featured in roughly 1/3 of season 7. The current rumors have said it's just five figures, the five bad batch members. -

Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
We don't know that. It was definitely produced to tie in at least somewhat with the upcoming show, but since it's just the shuttle and the rumored figures are just the five batch members, it's likely that it's more of a generic thing that could be for either CW S7 or BB. I'm inclined to think it's more vague than being based on the show, especially since it sounded like the figure leaks are just the batch in their main armors, but (Speculation, but supported by enough evidence that it could be a spoiler) There always is! Currently there's a $30 set with unknown contents, and there's always a chance a random set pops up. -

I'm 80-90% sure bad batch will be officially announced right around may fourth, but the set will still release in august. Similar to last year's AT-AT.
