Star Wars - Nano-Scale Fighters ~early 1990s
Mandalorianknight replied to Tom_Brick's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's of star wars vehicles, so it works in the star wars theme as well. I was able to tell what all of them were (except the tie interceptor) before reading the caption, so points to child you! -

This seems to be working for the superhero fans after snyder cut and zemo dance cut, so #releasepentaki, anyone? (Complete side note but snyder cut might just be the best superhero film of all time and the zemo dance is of course a masterclass in modern marketing tactics). Mandalorian wave? -

To update that info, in the weeks since that comment we got an image of the head from a lego designer video and it is not the same as the old one. -
Just my opinion, but I think it's the second one. The first one's helmet's off, the third one is too bulky, and the helmets on the fourth and fifth are almost too accurate, to the point that they don't look like lego.

For 2020-2029? Given that most probably agree that 2010-2019's best set is the UCS falcon, and most people (at least before the 2017 set) would have said the best LSW set of 200-2009 was the 2007 UCS falcon, I'd have to say it'll be a new UCS falcon in 2027! In all seriousness, I'd guess either pentaki, a UCS razor crest, or a new UCS x-wing. ROTJ wave: -

I haven't heard about that one from any reliable sources, and we've never had a star wars S@H promo with an actual build and figures in the same promo before (unless you count the weird vader pod or obi-wan with a stand), so I'm inclined to think this one may not be legit. -
This is incredible! I've never seen someone accurately get the curved wings of the interceptor, and you definitely pulled it off. Why are these comments so common under good MOCs... he is offering a product, in this case the instructions to this model, and if you want to buy it you're welcome too, if you don't think it's worth the cost to you then don't buy it. Either way, complaining that you're not getting it free won't help. 9.00 for the instructions of a model over 1200 parts is super cheap compared to lots of other mocmakers, anyway.

MOC Prototype SW Clone Wars Starfighter
Mandalorianknight replied to Sarah_H7744's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This looks great! It really looks like something the republic would have, sort of similar to a headhunter or E-wing. I love all the little side details too, like the ladder and maintenance cart with the barrels. -

I love this idea! Here's my attempt, though I put in 16 figures instead of 12. My pattern for the characters is: 1. main character in main outfit that either never was made or needs an update. 2. main character in obscure variant. 3. main villain in new outfit. 4. new trooper. 5. wild card, with the 16th figure being a chase figure (only one per box). -

I never saw Aquaman, but I heard it was a similar tone to Shazam, just more adult. That bat tank would be a great set, it's unfortunate we only saw it for a few seconds. Hopefully if #restorethesnyderverse ends up happening and we get JL2 or a Ben Affleck Batman we see it more prominently. True. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if funko started making pops for random people in real life . -

I think the whole point was that since it's Snyder's vision and they let him do whatever he wanted for it, it was never going to be some mass-appeal film made to produce merchandise. (That said, I grant that they didn't need three F-bombs. Personally I think Batman's at the end should have been the only one to give it more weight). I don't think it's likely we will see anything for it, but I think an 18+ set with Black Suit Superman and the new Steppenwolf made as a sort of diorama thing could be possible. And if they do end up #restoringthesnyderverse, they'd likely tone it down just a bit (removing the f-bombs and slightly toning down the blood), so it could have sets in the future. -

I'm guessing TVA, but the presidential one in a CMF would mean we might finally get the helmet/hair combo! I'm definitely getting hannibal lector/darth maul S7/Zemo vibes from this show as Loki's a dangerous criminal but they need to work with him to stop a greater threat (timestreams or whatever according to the trailer), so it's possible that the villain is Loki himself or, if we're going with wandavision's "the protagonist commits crimes against humanity but it's ok because they were sad" precedent, the TVA themselves. -

Yeah, the scarif shoretroopers really suffer from the lack of a battlepack, and even the worse variant of the death trooper (missing ammo pouch and pauldron) goes for like $10 each on bricklink. Krennic too (I'm personally wanting this because I misplaced krennic's head somehow and never found it). The TIE advanced continually suffers from being released at smaller scales (2016's tie advanced and A-wing as well as the one in 2018's vader's castle), meaning that it's been I believe 15 years since the last minifig scale version. @MaximillianRebo those sound amazing, we almost never get just normal civilians in star wars, and unlike other themes like marvel, harry potter, jurassic world, etc, you can't just put skin-toned faces on city figures to make civilians. My solution is just buying heads and hands and putting them on my spare farmboy lukes, but that makes them look a bit like a cult. Moving to ESB: -
I saw this and first just thought it was some nice TIE moc, but that function brings it to the next level! You integrated the function so well I never would have guessed it'd be there.

Yup, it's a great film. Maybe they could even do what they did with deadpool and have Boba Fett kidnap the guy who played the kid in that film and forcibly read him the book of boba fett. another thing people don't seem to remember is that only 60% of the bad batch would use hair pieces in the first place, since Wrecker and echo are bald. It'd be really strange if they didn't include their helmets. What do you guys think the hair/headgear molds will be? Personally I'm leaning towards: Helmets: Hunter and echo using the basic p2 mold, Crosshair using the ARC mold or a new mold, Wrecker with the invincible iron man mold and Tech with a new mold. 1-2 new molds total. Possible hair theory: Hunter using either a new mold or the old luke hair (Dark brown) with his bandana printed on his head, echo with no hair (printed cybernetic stuff like lobot), crosshair with the old ben hair in LBG, wrecker with no hair, and Tech with the Tarkin hair in brown. While looking at the hair I realized there's some more skin tone variance as well. Most of the batch definitely would be most accurate with the current clone skin color, but tech looks like light flesh would work in some images. Echo honestly could use LBG or white as a skin tone at this point, my man CT-1409's looking rough -

There's a difference there, as in those episodes the clones didn't wear their helmets most of the time. Rex went on to wear his often in the latter part of the show, but for the episode the AT-TE is based on they didn't wear their helmets for most of it. Yeah, they definitely have their helmets. The phrasing here gave me the sudden idea of a princess bride type thing for book of boba fett, where the episodes are flashbacks bracketed by an elderly boba sitting there in a sweater reading "the book of boba fett" to Fennec or his kid or whatever. Wait, when? I don't think we've ever had multiple character variants in an advent calendar before, this would be interesting. -

You misunderstand, I'm saying they will likely give him those double blaster things as that's what they do for nick fury, black widow, etc. I hope that latter part isn't the case though, that'd be disappointing. Not taking that bet, there aren't any mechs! -

I'm very excited for this punisher figure leak, he's the only one of my favorite superheroes that hasn't gotten a figure yet . I can't see there being any controversy, especially since it's an 18+ set and they could just do what they do with all the other gun-wielding characters and give him that stupid double-barrel blaster part. -

Do you buy old sets
Mandalorianknight replied to that_lego_builder's topic in General LEGO Discussion
*loads ammo into my duplo tank* You're missing out if you've never swooshed a ship around or anything, that's part of the fun! I think it depends on what you mean by "old". The oldest set I've purchased is the 1999 x-wing, and I wouldn't consider that old even though it released before I was born. -

Interesting...so it is a remake. Looks good, I was hoping for something more dome-like but this is still pretty good. Maybe the R2, though it's been known about for awhile it could be that they don't talk about leaks. -
General Star Wars Discussion and Questions
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@The Stud and @Sarah_H7744, those are good suggestions. I didn't think gold would really work, but I rendered it using that color and it came out really well, so thanks for the suggestion! I'm working on a whole wave of MOCS based off the canon star wars games (and KOTOR), which'll have at least 2 FO location sets and maybe the Mantis too. Here's my build of the guardian so far (alongside a magnet and Cal, who it's about twice as tall as), I'm not a fan of the head but I couldn't find a better way to do it at this size, same with the hands. Edit: of course immediately after posting this I find a slightly better solution for the head. Still not great, but if I replace the layer below that 2x4 wedge plate with 2 1x2 rounded plates (rotated 90 degrees from the current one), then it at least has two eye socket areas and isn't a cyclops.
