LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I don't think the system works. That's my plan too, put mando on the throne and surround him with his allies. Maybe put the Crest behind it too. Definitely buying Slave one and the duel (just sold my Ahsoka from the AAT, so now it's a net payment of $10), and I already pre-ordered the bad batch shuttle. -

Rebels fans rise up! It really does look great, and the antistud thing doesn't bother me as much as, say, the bad batch shuttle wing, as because you can rotate the wings, it's easy to avoid displaying it in such a way that the antistuds are visible (whereas you can only look at the bad batch shuttle from one direction if you don't want antistuds.) A shame, really. Clone wars worked so well to retroactively make the prequels bearable, and TLJ especially needed that. To get slightly on topic, it did have great ship designs, and I'm sad that due to the cancellation we'll never see those sets Plus we didn't get the main hero ship, like seriously wtm (what the megablock). The ONLY order that works: Ewoks<going to hell<droids and resistance<bad batch, rebels, and clone wars. Yeah, that's what I'm guessing. Agh, curse you, now I've got to buy the set to put djin on the throne! Reminds me of a concept I had during season 2 that Mando would give armors to Cara, Cobb, and Greef, start a full clan, and eventually become Mand'alor. -

Holy cow, a fellow fan of star wars who actually thinks rebels is a better overall show! I thought I was alone. hopefully with the rumors about the-sequel-which-supposedly-became-the-ahsoka-show-and-part-of-rangers-but-rangers-might-be-canned-and-the-animated-sequel-might-be-back-or-whatever, we'll eventually get another ghost, but I'm not holding out much hope. I just want an affordable Zeb! I feel like the only one they're revealing at legocon is the gunship, just because they revealed official pics of the CW sets and I think it'd be weird for them to save specifically the mando sets for the convention, as opposed to doing the fan vote set. That said, I also wouldn't have expected them to officially reveal two of the wave's system sets but not the rest, so I guess it's possible. -

Remember the ketamine addicted yoda statue? I think the photographer is disgruntled and trying to lower sales. I should have clarified. More recently, they've only made unique heads (which rules out the clones) for characters if they include the hair, so the head would be shown. Examples include the bad batch set, probably the best example actually as unique printed heads directly correlate to whether or not that figure has hair (unless they don't have hair on their character, ofc. ToT mando: No unique head, no hair. All clones: No unique head (per clone) no hair. The fact that her headdress thingie was there too also lends support. -

It's already $160, they can't make it much bigger and keep it "affordable", since they seem to not do non-d2cs over $169.99. Bo's printed head definitely suggests she'll come with some hair, personally I think the hair they used for Snape/Hunter/etc would work well on her. -

I don't even wanna know how the new sets got the thread locked... I'd go (worst is 7, best is 1, it's all subjective) 7.Duel on Mandalore: This better not be $20, it looks like a $10 set. The figures are fine, and the build is...alright. 7.5/10 6. Imperial Troop Transport: It's a good set, but it can't stand out in an exceptional wave. I'll talk later about how a set doesn't need a lot of figures to be good, but this is one set that really needed more. That said, the included figures are really good. The build is alright, I think the color combo actually works pretty well, but I don't like how they built the sides. Price is good though. 8/10 5. Meditation chamber: Really good overall, though I think if they removed the square base, just using the circular base, it would not only look better but be cheaper. There's also some easy ways they could have lessened the gaps. 8/10 4. Mandalorian starfighter: This is where we head into the territory of amazing sets. The coloration, the build, the figures, it's all of great quality. The reason it's 4 is just because it's not as iconic of a vehicle as some of the other sets on the list, but everything from 4-1 is really close IMO. 3. Moff Gideon's Cruiser: Wow that's a great build, and the figures are great too. It looks like it'll have a substantial interior, and the shaping is on point. Only criticisms are super minor: The darksaber should have been a black katana part and Cara Dune needs an accurate skin color and hair. 2. Bad Batch Shuttle. The build just continues to grow on me the more I see it, and the more we see the show. It can fit the full batch, it's apparently the correct colors, and it looks pretty good. The figures are all incredible as well (Except crosshair needed a new mold). I wish Omega was there, though I guess lucasfilm might just not have shown her to them to avoid spoilers. 1. Slave One. This is peak LEGO by far. An AMAZING rendition of an iconic ship at an affordable price with super-detailed figures. This is exactly what I was hoping the affordable line would become. I also think that it shows you don't need a ton of figures to make a good set, as even though it's only two, it's much better than, say, less detailed boba and mando with like a stormtrooper thrown in. Plus that boba figure is just . Overall this is one of the best waves in a while in terms of the quality of the builds and figures. I can't wait to see if this level of quality is maintained and we get it for sets from the films (I'm not complaining about only getting show sets aside from the med chamber this wave, though). -

This might be just the slightest exaggeration. If we're going off price alone, there are other sets that are much more overpriced for what's actually included. If we're going off overpriced as in the set didn't need to be as large as it is, it's essentially a UCS meditation chamber. They've had much more oversized builds in the past (basically all speeder bikes, AT-RTs, etc). Personally I think the set's pretty good, I don't know how people were expecting it to open like it does in the films without some sort of "crane". Based on the amount of parts I think it's an alright value, as well. -

Definitely going with your joker suggestion. They've got to make him his own hairpiece soon, right? *looks at past few pages of thread and becomes immediately depressed regarding the state of the theme* Holy cow, 40433 is amazing. I had looked through some batmobiles but the list I saw didn't count promos, so I missed it. 100% going for either 40433 (just buying the parts without the box and sticker) or 76119 for the batmobile, those are great suggestions and completely capture what I was hoping they'd have for a batmobile. I might actually end up making a sort of merge of the designs on stud.io and buying parts for that. I'm totally using the deathstroke robin, maybe with a black domino mask. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I had no idea the batmobiles varied so much (and joker barely varies at all). -

I only recently gained an interest in the DC mythos, and while I love films like ZSJL, I'm not yet ready to splurge on DC sets. That said, I do want a small display for Batman. I've got my figure (newer cowl, head from BVS armored batman, older fabric cape, torso from sh204, dual-molded DBG/black legs), but I still need a batmobile. Does anyone have a recommendation for a definitive official batmobile (minifigure-sized, not UCS)? Recommendations for Robin (Dick Grayson) or Joker (looking for a purple suit with laughing face and short green hair) parts are also very welcome if you have any reccomendations. -

Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think they could show up in bad batch (More on that below), but I think it's most likely they'll just show up as player skins in the next battlefront or something (seeing as that's where we got the first clone commando content since their cameo in TCW. I think if they did show up in a set, lego would get new molds as they can use the one mold for all four squad members+ throw a generic white clone commando into literally any clone wars era set, as opposed to, say, wrecker, where it'd never be used for any other character. I think the difference is superhero sets are a lot more character-driven than star wars, as the vehicles are a much bigger draw. With superheroes, you've got the Quinjet, bat-vehicles, the Hulkbuster....and that's about it. (Maybe some more minor ones like invisible jet, etc, or the x-jet if they ever get back to x-men.) With star wars, the vehicles are as iconic as the characters. X-wings, TIEs, the Falcon, the Death Star, etc, I'd argue are just as iconic as vader and yoda. On a separate note, Baz has usurped Stewart as my new favorite green lantern and I am going to go bricklink that figure now. Please tell me there's a panel where a villain brags about being immune to the ring and Baz just pulls out a glock and drops him. NO! Clearly this is part of an anti-prequel agenda to discredit MandR! 2022 is when the contract ends (which just means they'll renegotiate, they aren't gonna end the theme), so I guess it's possible. I've been speculating for months that they'll be the villains of season 2 or something, since they were in TCW back in season 3 and their chips would have activated, as AFAIK they aren't genetically different from regs. -

I didn't believe it was as bad as everyone said it was, so I tried to watch it on youtube, but I couldn't get past the part when Chewie's grandpa watches VR ... uh, content, in the middle of his family's home during life day? Holiday special was weird, man. All jokes aside, Lego knows what'll sell and what won't, for the most part. There are definitely exceptions (Nien Numb, Saw Gerrera, p2 Cody, Wat Tambor...), but we were never gonna get san hill or shu mai in a set. In an attempt to get slightly back on-topic, everyone saw that maul leak a few days ago, right? I'm just glad the weird smile is gone, but the leg print is great as well. -
LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
EXACTLY. Not every random alien or naboo bureaucrat needs a figure. Wat Tambor is an outlier. More importantly, google trends doesn't really work for this at all, and comparing star wars to superheroes doesn't work well either. First off, google trends. Seriously, it really doesn't work here. Wat tambor shows searches coming up, but the majority of the listed characters @Graupensuppe states don't show up at all when you search "lego (character name)". Even characters that have seen large amounts of interest on this forum, such as "lego nien numb" and "lego 212th clone trooper", don't show up at all. So I don't think that works all that well. In addition, superhero themes are much more figure-driven than star wars. The vehicles and locations in superhero themes aren't nearly as much of a draw as the figures. Other posts have covered this more extensively, so I'll leave it there. Overall, there's some figures that we really should have gotten by now (Nien Numb, p2 cody, wat tambor, TROS palpatine, Saw Guerrera, Dryden Vos, etc), and some that are completely reasonable (half the separatist council, Sio Bibble, Half the rebel pilots). It's not really tied to a specific trilogy, though the prequels may seem a bit more underused because they tend to have more alien designs. Ironically, this works against them, as they'd require new molds to be done well, and, lego doesn't want to use new molds on characters as obscure as, say, shu mai or yakface. -
Looks great! I could easily see this as one of those little polybags lego puts out, like their x-wings or star destroyers. Another superb microbuild. I'd definitely say you should check out bad batch ASAP, it's just as good as CW season 7 and it's going to go on for I think something like 16 episodes, so it might be a bit long to wait unlike some of the shorter shows they've put out (If I remember correctly one of the marvel ones is like 6 episodes) That echo minifig looks a bit cursed though, his arm is giant!

If he didn't specify star wars I'm guessing he's just talking about marvel. If not, I'm guessing it's BS. Star wars has a lot more vehicles and playset opportunities than marvel does (Especially with the new marvel show coming out that's going to be just a ton of character variants like spider-captain america, apocalypse iron man, infinity stone-laden ultron, etc), so a CMF for just a couple shows doesn't make as much sense. Star Wars: The Depression Strikes Back. -

Yeah no I think you're right that that guy just worded it weird, which is what I was trying to avoid by being as vague as "inaccurate torso area". Like you said, the torso looks too similar to a catwoman torso with the changes made. I think daredevil just doesn't translate well printed onto a lego head. I almost feel that a molded helmet part could be better for, like, the netflix version, though I think the printed head is still better for the comics version. I really like the daredevil fig, same as I like the punisher and black cat figs, they just have these minor flaws. (I don't know if anyone else has said punisher's face doesn't look angry enough? I personally don't care as I've been using Kili's face for my punisher purist custom for years and am just going to swap it out). Again, still amazing figures and an amazing set. In fact, this set is so good it might be the most expensive lego set I've ever purchased if I do pull the trigger on it. I've got a job interview tomorrow, I think if it goes well and they hire me I'll get the set. (I should clarify I'm in the late teens, not an unemployed grown man dropping $300 on lego) He's the flash's main villain now, isn't he? Cold was the silver age villain but now it's "It was me, Barry". Though given their reliance on batman sets, being the flash's main enemy may not be enough. Maybe we'll get them from Build A Minifig someday. -

I'm sure they're using it for something, though I doubt it'll be P2 cody, since he doesn't fit in the set timeline-wise. My guess is the fan-vote figure either hasn't been leaked yet, or it actually was the clone captain and/or windu, and they were just the most requested figures that fit the setting. Most of the episodes did not have this, though.
