  1. Sorry, I did not see the other moderator things as I only skimmed the last few pages, and I didn't see anything with your icon or cloneopatra's icon. Is there a way to filter for moderator posts? Yeah, given how long it's been since that rumored lineup was reported and nothing else has happened I'm kind of skeptical of it. Especially since a clone pilot and gunner or pilot and yoda tracks a lot more with their other lineups. I can't think of any examples where a UCS set has figures but no pilot. (Maybe the delta-7, but that's an old set and the astromech is kinda a pilot) Yeah, and given the past couple summer waves I don't think there's much evidence for lego not wanting to make sets for the prequel era. Here's my prediction right now: one that's somehow missing some part of it in an Imperial remnant battlepack in winter 2022, then included in advent calendar 2022. When there are 3 pages of it, yes, I don't read every preceding post.
  2. disney asked them to remove the word from the set, so it definately is to censor it. Definately buying slave one, I'm going to start a slave one/boba collection. I've been meaning too for awhile, but never had the funds. The cruiser is a nice playset for kids, personally I'm not a huge fan of the look, and I think a second dark trooper would have been nice. Alright, so, at that same risk of going off-topic. It's a word, one that represents something terrible. Other words representing terrible things: War, bomber, death, etc. If we're going to get rid of any discussion or concept of the word slavery, that means cancelling TPM, at least part of AOTC, many episodes of clone wars, certain episodes of rebels, a good fourth of jedi:fallen order, etc. Removing a word from the lexicon is literally (not an exaggeration, I mean this in the literal sense, it happens in the book) something out of 1984. Slavery in star wars has always been shown as a bad thing, done by the bad guys, and the heroes fight to stop it. That's how the topic should be treated, not by acting like it's not a concept that has existed since civilization. Will we never get another roman soldier in a CMF, because they enslaved anyone who wasn't a roman citizen? What about Watto? He owned slaves, can we no longer get watto figures? Child anakin was a slave, will he stop getting figures? TLDR: Removing the word slave from a franchise that has slavery as a part of much of the lore, and always accurately depicts how bad it is and shows the heroes trying to stop it, is backwards and 1984-like censorship. If we go down this path, 10-15 years from now there'll be "content warnings" in front of TPM and parts of clone wars on disney+. If I sound paranoid, just know I used to joke about disney getting rid of slave one back when they got rid of slave leia. Yes, exactly! Censoring words and removing history always leads down a dark road. You laugh now, but just wait a couple years when TPM is removed from disney+, and the death star's construction is changed in canon to have been done by "willing geonosian and wookie volunteers" Oh, and stormtroopers share their name with nazi troops. Do we have to start calling them imperial armored forces now?
  3. Sounds great! i'm going to start hunting for it on ebay. I definately agree with the overall sentiment about arm printing, but I don't think luke and anakin need it, since it's really only the hand. (Never mind, I looked it up and anakin's arm definately could use printing for the robotic parts.) Yeah... I disagree even with their stance on the leia thing...but this is even something else IF TRUE (I talk about this below). It's not even a character that's been imprisoned, it's a word referring to a ship? What's next, decanonizing slave circuits? (from thrawn books, a code that allows ships to be called to and fly towards their pilots) Exactly. I find it hilarious that they're washing away that part of the story when the whole point (ok, the narrative point besides the obvious costume one) was that leia is so cool that even at her lowest point, being taken prisoner, she can kill the biggest crime lord in the galaxy. This sort of pretending and rewriting is 1984-like if true. That said, it could be like the kor transport and hunter transport where it's done for marketing reasons, though slave one is a pretty iconic ship at this point, so it's possible we're all reading too much into this. They are great sets, definately buying slave one day one. (I would get the light cruiser but I already have an ISD and a custom remnant ISD, I dont want a third imperial cruiser).
  4. There's a battle pack that had Dengar, Bossk, IG-88, and 4-Lom, I don't know if the price has gone up on bricklink but it was pretty cheap as of a year or two ago.
  5. That is also true. If it's not the latter, I'm modding it. something as small as the new model is (not that that's bad, I love that we're getting a smaller one) doesn't need a handle. I forgot about that one. I liked the interior bridge design, but I wasn't a huge fan of the other segments.
  6. I kind of agree, I'm just not sure how I feel about this set. First off, it should definately be more like $10-15. Aside from that, I love that it's a small lego star wars set that's system scale, and I wish we had more that weren't weird duels with turntables. having $30 be the minimum cost of a star wars build-focused set is sad to me, growing up with $5-10 ninjago sets that were system scale. To be honest I don't think it's a duel set as in the starkiller base duel or mustafar duel, the duel subtheme if you will, it's just a small set depicting a duel. This is true, we've never had a great interior. -has the UCS slave one -wife likes legos -has a wife can I have your life? People keep telling me that the UCS slave one is one of the best sets of all time, would you say I should try to hunt it down on bricklink/ebay? (big boba fett fan, but the UCS sets have always seemed a bit pricy for me) The sole reason I am purchasing the mandalore throne is so I can put boba and din on it.
  7. I have no way of using the English language to convey how impressive this is.
  8. Alright, here's my ideal wave, based off the pattern of 2 micros, a micro dual pack, a duel, 2 battle packs, 5 system sets, and a ucs/mbs set. Microfighters: Xanadu Blood ($9.99): Cad Bane (clone wars seasons 1-2) TIE whisper ($9.99): reforged kylo Bantha vs Sandcrawler ($19.99): Tusken Raider and Jawa. battle packs: Rebel Fleet troopers ($14.99): 3x rebel fleet troopers, 1x rebel fleet captain, and a tantive IV corridor build. Stormtroopers ($14.99): 2x stormtrooper, 1x stormtrooper commander, 1x scout trooper. Build is a turbolaser. Duel: Duel on geonosis ($19.99): Small geonosis hanger build with a collapsing pillar feature. Comes with Yoda and Dooku. System sets: Navarro base attack ($34.99): Navarro base interior (clone expiriment area, lava control thing with no balcony, etc) with Cara Dune, Beskar Mando, a stormtrooper, and an imperial cloner. Exogol ($49.99): Sith Throne and Omnic Harness with Exogol terrain beneath. Comes with Palpatine (undead), Palpatine (eternal), Rey, and Ben Solo. AT-ST ambush ($69.99): AT-ST (with two seats), and some tree builds with a log trap function and ewok huts at the top. Comes with Wicket, Paploo, Chirpa, a baby Ewok, 2x AT-ST pilot, and 1x scout trooper. Black One ($79.99): Poe's Black One X-wing, with fuselage more similar to the 2015 build and engines like the 2020 model. Comes with Poe Dameron (Pilot), BB-8, 2x resistance ground techs, General Leia, and Admiral Ematt. AT-TE ($99.99): AT-TE with interior command center and cockpit. Comes with Captain rex (p2), 2x AT-TE driver, 2x 332nd trooper, 2x mauldalorian, Bo-Katan, and Maul. UCS/MBS: Slave One ($349.99): Huge Slave one, even bigger than the 2015 model with a larger interior. Based off the mandalorian season 2 and comes with: Boba Fett (dual molded and printed arms, helmet in normal green, not sand green), Cara Dune (dual molded arms, new hair mold and more accurate skin tone), Beskar Mando with Jetpack, Migs Mayfield, and Fennec Shand (new hair mod, cloth kama, helmet also included)
  9. I hate myself so, so much for this, especially because I was originally going to get this so I wouldn't buy the 20th one...but I'm definately buying both this and the 20th one. Someone please stop me before I sell my soul to buy the UCS one too. Given how lego's dealt with controversy (though ironically they still deal with china's government, which should be super controversial), I doubt we'll see a set with the palace exterior or slave leia anytime soon. Best I can see is a set with the throne room and maybe the rancor pit underneath if that's in the show, but nothing with the exterior.
  10. My main reason for thinking it's the gunship is it says "a new set reveal". Set being singular, so it'd be weird if they revealed all the mando sets instead. Why not say "new set reveals"?
  11. This is shaping up to be one of the best sets in a while. Great figures, excellent price, accurate and well-made build, and even a stand! I love the little speeder-stand, reminds me of the classic star wars sets. Yeah, I love how it's done in the same style as the razor crest ones. Yeah, their pricing is getting a lot better.
  12. Alright, this is my final time resurrecting the thread to egotistically post a minor update on my tank. I built a physical model, and it manages to be stable with real bricks. As you can see, it fits a pilot and scales pretty well with the AAT. If anyone happens to want one of these for themselves, let me know and I'll send you a part file for the instructions.
  13. Can't wait to see your mods! Here's my minor updates: Added the missing tiles, the gunship is now fully encloshed and "spaceworthy", so to speak. I also made the side doors with the round tops easier to insert/remove, as they were somewhat difficult to place beforehand. Interior shot. The gunship now fits 22: 14 standard 501st troopers in the main bay, 2 jet troopers at the back, 2 passangers (Rex and Anakin) in the room below the second pilot seat, 2 pilots, and 2 gunners. I'm going to try and mod the area below the second pilot seat to fit 4 passangers, and see if I can get the ammo storage beneath the first pilot seat converted to more trooper room to bring it up to 2 total troops. Here's an image of all my republic mocs and mods together: a simple BARC mod, small AT-RT moc, smoother TX-130 moc, and the gunship mods. I'm definately revisiting the gunship at some point to try and get half the doors to open forewords instead of it all being one large door, but for now my grand army of the republic is complete.
  14. Disney+ did get a CMF with the main characters of the other 3 shows too, but you're right that they are giving what if some sets. I think it depends on whether or not visions is about recognizable or new characters, as kids recognize red skull, tony stark, the hulkbuster, steve rogers, what amounts to a green hulkbuster, etc (I guess valkeryie although she isn't super well-known), so those sets aren't huge risks. (also the three other disney+ series so far haven't been bursting with set opportunities). First i'd say it's one rather large set, but they also have a limited number of total sets per wave. Since they wanted to do more CW sets and apparently more Mando sets, they had to balance it. I'd guess that they chose the clone wars and mando sets over more bad batch sets because a: they're still cautious. I should have been more clear, I don't expect a wave filled with sets for an upcoming show before it releases. My guess is their plan is to do a couple sets before or during the show's run, then more sets a wave or two later planned. b: clone wars and mando finished their series/seasons already, so if they were going to do more sets, they'd get the most money the soonest after they finished. Bad Batch season 1 won't even be done by the time this wave releases, so it still has a huge amount of "stock" left for, say, the January wave.
  15. Both bad batch and andor have at least two seasons. And I'm not saying kids can't watch, it, I'm saying based on the premise it's most likely got less appeal to kids than bad batch. I don't think we'll get visions sets. It's an anthology series, seems very experimental, and is supposed to come out within a couple months. I've been looking at the bad batch images to plan out mods, and there's definately enough room for at least a third figure in the main hold of the shuttle.
  16. It's all wishlists so inherently subjective, but I think his logic was based off the fact that getting multiple bad batch clone battle packs is not going to happen, so one pack with a type of every trooper would be better since we could army build all trooper types instead of only being able to get some. Plus there's only
  17. 1. Most of it's meant to be family friendly, but rogue one and a variety of the books and comics are definately not meant with kids as the target audience. Andor especially seems to be geared for adults from what little we know, mainly that it's about the "terrrible things" Andor says he's done for the rebellion in rogue one. At this point saying star wars is for kids is like saying the MCU is for kids. Sure, stuff like avengers is meant to appeal to kids and adults, but stuff like winter soldier or TFATWS is definately geared towards adults. Let's look at the whole live action v animation thing, too. First real animated property when lego was making sets (sure there was the 03 microseries but let's be honest that wasn't really at the same scale as anything else) was TCW. Season 1 got a massive amount of sets, and the show continued to get a solid 5-6 sets per season until the show was cancelled. Then with rebels they brought out the main hero ship long before the show released, and released a large wave of sets around the end of season one. Due to a variety of issues (the wookie gunship and ezra's speeder each had only a couple shots in the show, the show wasn't popular during the first couple seasons, etc), the sets sold poorly. Lego got cold feet and produced less sets for subsequent seasons, including only one small set for season 3 and nothing for season 4, ironically just as the show became more and more popular. During this time, clone wars got one smallish set every year or two. They only made two sets for resistance, including the main villian ship and a random minor hero ship, which sold poorly, and the show itself was cancelled quickly due to poor viewership levels. This cold feet regarding shows led to them producing only a couple of sets for TCW s7, which both sold very, very well. Clearly, they recognized their mistake, as they then brought out more TCW s7 sets the next year. I think at this point they've learned their lesson and there'll be more bad batch sets, especially since the show itself has a lot of viewers compared to rebels, resistance, and even much of clone wars. TLDR lego learned from their mistakes with rebels and now puts out 1-2 sets for animated shows as they release, and at least with clone wars making more sets later if the show does well. Bad batch is doing very well, so most likely it'll get more sets.
  18. Thank you! I'll be honest, I completely forgot about this mod. I did end up adding the tiles (though the doors still open off the one mechanism), I'll upload some images in a few hours. These are excellent tips, there's a lot of blue pieces that are actually somewhat rare in that color and never show up on the outside of the build. My door extensions are just plates added on to the original door, so they just use that same mechanism.
  19. I think it'll be the opposite, actually. Bad Batch is a multi-season show (so it's already got more reason to have sets than TCW s7, which Lego knew to be the last season), and while it's not a "kids show" so to speak, the target audience is children. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Andor is definately not meant for children, and I doubt Kenobi and BoBF are either. Most likely I see this happening: BobF gets a couple of sets over two waves, Andor and Kenobi each get 1-2 sets over one wave, bad batch gets like half a wave for season 2 and consistent sets over the course of the show. Same here, no way she doesn't appear again.
  20. I don't see it, I think the fin being fixed is offset by the rest of the helmet's change in design (widening, mouth, etc) Don't worry man, this is going to be more modded than the razor crest. Actually, it's somewhat similar to the RC: Main hero transport of a hit new show that comes with most of the heroes (with one short hero absent), a single villain, and has an interior that can fit all the heroes but is practically begging for mods. In addition, the color is a major initial complaint among the community, gradually shifting to figure choice and design, including the helmet of the main hero.
  21. Isn't ryo's head yellow though? (And hunter's already got a headband I think.)
  22. Realistically, after they pulled the osprey despite it already having been produced and shipped to stores, and even stopped marketing for police sets for awhile, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say to avoid controversy we'll be unlikely to get another jabba's palace set with exterior, figures or huttslayer leia and oola, etc.
  23. Actually, I don't think so. Sure, you could probably take off the sides without to much trouble, but it don't think there's enough room for 3 pods on each side even if they're just flags (which really would look pretty terrible for an ITT build any larger than that battlepack), much less any sort of actual attempt at the pods. Not to mention you'll need to mod the back of the vehicle quite a bit, as the rear looks completely different from the ITT rear. Yeah, not only does Cody make 0 sense to include, but the figures are never the point of a UCS set (maybe MBS sets, but never UCS ships). I don't get why people thought we'd get p2 cody or a ton of clones or something. This is what I've been saying since the vote, if people wanted a minifig scale gunship they shouldn't have voted for the UCS one.
  24. Dear god, man, I thought the tusken slaughter set was dark! At the very least throw in an observation pod, Cham's girlfriend, and Moff Mors so we can get everything exclusive to the book! Alright, here's a wave idea: Microfighters: Luke's Landspeeder ($9.99): Luke Skywalker. Poe's X-wing ($9.99): Poe Dameron (pilot), the x-wing is Black One. Slave one vs imperial cruiser ($19.99): Boba Fett (from 2021 slave one), Moff Gideon (new face print). Battle Packs: Imperial Remnant ($14.99): 2x remnant trooper, 1x incinerator trooper, 1x mortar trooper. Build is an E-web on some terrain. Sith Eternal ($14.99): 2x sith trooper, 1x sovereign protector, 1x sith acolyte. Build is some science stuff, like the jar-of-pickled-snokes. System sets: Wheel Bike Chase ($39.99): Brick-built Boga and wheel bike with Grievous, Obi-wan, Cody, and a magnaguard. Airspeeder chase ($49.99): Anakin and Zam's airspeeders with Padawan Anakin, Obi-wan, Zam Wessel, and Jango Fett. Final battle ($69.99): Sith Throne, Omnic Harness, a chamber to swap palpatine from omnic harness to reborn, and the dark science machine things. Comes with Palpatine (omnic harness), the Eternal Emperor, Rey, Ben, and 2x Soveirgn Protector. Ewok Attack ($79.99): At-St (seats 2 pilots), as well as a large build of two trees with a log-smash function and some ewok huts up top. Comes with 2x AT-ST pilot, 1x scout trooper, Chewbacca, Palploo, Wicket, Chirpa, and a baby ewok. Resistance B-wing ($89.99): Large Resistance B-wing with stand. Comes with Aftab Ackbar, Poe Dameron (desert outfit), General Leia, Beaumont Kin, BB-8, Rose Tico, Snap Wexley, and a Sith Trooper. Helmets: Hunter ($69.99) Sith Trooper ($69.99) Captain Rex ($69.99) UCS: UCS Imperial Shuttle ($449.99): massive imperial shuttle with 1x co-pilot, 1x pilot, Vader, and Luke.
  25. Thanks! Yeah, if it only holds a pilot and then partially a character if they're partially in the hatch, that would be disappointing. I really hope that it can fit at least 4.
