  1. You know... that one guy. He's unkillable, indestructible, he's...*title card* Firestar has a good one, as well as fellow *title card* characters "overbearing superhero dad" and "subatomic manipulator", but they're out of stock. (Though it's *title card* *cracks* now) Honestly it's like panel to panel for a number of runs on the shade of blue on their suits at any given time. Since we have a dark blue already, I'm glad we've got the standard blue for this cyclops. Yeah, when bird poop is the better option, you've officially messed up the print.
  2. Were that were true, yet Clone Who Punched A Droid is known only as Clone Who Punched A Droid Basically anyone with more than a line or two does. Off the top of my head the ones not yet mentioned include- Fox, Fives, Echo, Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Wrecker, Jesse, Doom, Kix, Hardcase, Appo, Thorn, Hevy, O'Niner, Droidbait, Cutup, Colt, Hammer, Matchstick, Oddball, Jag, Broadside, Warthog, Bly, Bacara, Vaughn, Sterling, Neyo, Wolffe, Booster, Gree, Boil, Waxer, and Thire. There are many more, though. Yeah, while there's enough horizontal space to bend her in, and Merlin might fit if you push the ladder back, it definitely seems it wasn't designed to include figures, which is an extremely odd oversight.
  3. Don't look up what he looks like in a lot of the comics then... or SamCap... or that guy with the new amazon show... *title card* If you want to cover the forehead bit, I'd say agent burns's hair from Ultra Agents should work. It's not perfect, but I don't think any hair that covers the forehead would be. No, he's just got the one. (Apologies in advance if you aren't using the site in english and that comment sounds insane to you) I don't think it's a huge issue, but yeah, if the 2014 head wasn't dark blue I'd consider swapping it out. Totally agree (Though I think the hair would be the slightest bit better in Reddish Brown, not that it matters much at all) But it does bring up a point. I can't imagine hips a different color than the legs are more expensive, so why did lego fail to provide them?
  4. I know! IMO, this is what they should be going for: January 1- 1HY system sets: A microfighter or two, a battle pack or two, and a number of standard sets April 1or May 1- 3-4 "adult" sets (dioramas, helmets, etc) May 4th- UCS 1HY August 1- wave of a number of standard sets, larger in size/cost on average than January Fall- UCS 2HY, advent calendar
  5. Another reason it should have been a print... but yeah, they definately have to do this otherwise that sticker's gonna get damaged the first time he holds the scroll. It's not terrible, but for a 2023 set with 365 pieces, it should be a lot better. This is the sort of set I'd expect in the early 2010s. I'm gonna be real with you chief, until you said her name I'd forgotten they revealed her to be a clone. I wonder if she was an early kaminoan experiment or if her being Omega's "sister" refers to her actually being a daughter of Jango, because that lab scene only had enough tanks for the original Batch (-Echo, +Omega)
  6. Yes, much like in europe with knights, there were female stormtroopers, (probably a larger proportion than knights), but not anywhere near the percentage we're seeing in terms of lego. I'm not saying it needs to be 1:1 with some given canon stat, but in all canon sources most stormtroopers we hear speak are dudes. Every named stuntman or extra in the OT i've seen in the behind the scenes stuff I've watched and read is a guy. Since they're wearing helmets, it really doesn't bug me that much compared to the other stuff (though I do find it very ironic considering they're named after the nazi troops), but it's a good example of lego doing this in other themes. I'm also going to be an absolute pedant and point out that they did produce a clone with 2 X chromosomes, Omega. And yet we don't have her season 2 outfit. If you push the ladder back, he might be able to fit. The knight definately couldn't fit upright, but unlike Merlin she has the ability to bend at the waist and only needs a 1x2 footprint, so she should be fine, just contorted.
  7. This definitely is not the case. Lego is controversy-averse in general, yes, but when it comes to this stuff, they don't seem to care. They do the same with lego star wars, ~50% of our storm and snowtroopers have been female over the past few years, which is... not quite accurate to any canon or legends material, not to mention the extras under the armor in real life. Same with the Hoth Rebels, who are not a group of norwegians (though there it at least fits better, as the rebels are a ragtag group and not space nazis). (I also want to add, if they made these new diverse prints based on actual characters, I'd be not only fine with it but happier than I would if they kept re-using genericish prints similar to the extras. If Hazrim Namir, Roja, and/or Beak had been in the hoth rebel pack, I'd have bought one, no question.) There is a 0% chance that lego stops producing castle sets because some of us complain about the gender makeup of the figs. There is a pretty low chance that they change it, too, but they aren't going to stop making sets because some of us have gripes about the faceprints on the knights. Yeah, especially for such a high threshold, this is definitely not worth it. This is what I'd expect for $150ish. $250 is insane. Majisto could fit inside height wise- but with his legs taking up a 2x2 footprint, I don't think he can actually fit inside the first floor when closed. The knight avoids that issue, but with that plume she'd have to be bending over the 2x4 that they pretend is a suitable official table build in 2023 to fit in there.
  8. Very nice! This really gets the monsterous scale of the droid across. The head is definately a little odd still, but it's understandable to keep the weight down. The stance in the legs is done very well.
  9. Totally agree. The printed head and torso are good, and that's what matters most. Unprinted hair and plain legs are a lot easier to swap out than Rogue's printed hair or if they'd messed up his torso. Ah, thank you. Reddish brown would definitely work best for Cyclops. His suit is darker than beast's fur, so dark blue might fit a little better, but at the same time, so long as it's unknown how many X-men sets we're getting besides this one, the CMF figs, and hopefully the mansion, I'm glad we've now got a variant in normal blue since we do have a dark blue one already, who's secondhand prices aren't insane compared to a lot of other supes.
  10. "Sir, a second buildable figure has hit the Walmart" (Change to Tesco/whatever for you Europeans) Isn't this the one they called "really awesome"? I dare someone to look that thing in the eyes and say that about it. Yeah, I don't see an issue with the Cyclops fig. Aside from having his hair color swapped with Rogue, he seems pretty solid.
  11. I don't think it's necessarily the case. Sure, the MCU was HUGE in getting everyone not named spider-man to household recognition, but that recognition is there now. I don't think they need blockbuster films currently out to have the sets featuring those characters sell well (I mean, look at right now. Lego clearly has some faith in the OG avengers as we're getting many sets with them, and not as many based on the newer projects as we used to). Sure, if we go long enough without a cartoon or something to keep those avengers popular, the sales will stop, but you gotta remember that's a big part of DC's decline too. Not only were the movies rough (And missing most of the heavy hitters. No Batman or Superman centric films they could market between mid 2017 and the end of 2021, it'd be like if iron man and cap weren't in the entirety of phase 2), but there wasn't a big cartoon at the time. I think all there was was justice league action, which were pretty short episodes that, if I remember correctly, just got dumped on youtube? The cartoon before it, around 2014 I think, was a pretty big flop too. All Batman had was the comics, which kids do not read, and the preexisting movies, which are the only things we get sets based on nowadays. I think it's a lot more likely they didn't want anything that looked like blood or "didn't notice" the war paint than that they were trying to give us the variant from a different film and then forgot to add the most unique feature of the character's outfit in that film.
  12. It's been pretty consistent that the january star wars sets get high-quality image leaks/reveals around thanksgiving (fourth Thursday of november for those not in the US), so I'd guess around then. That said, seeing as our january wave consists of one (1) system set and a junior set, it might be easier to keep under wraps. I really miss the days of big January waves. And of smaller sets, for that matter. The cheapest non-gimmick star wars sets are $30 now... what I wouldn't give for some little $10 star wars sets like the Guardians HQ set from marvel.
  13. Thank you! I dunno. I think it's not bad, but not "wrinkly" enough if that makes sense. Palpatine's face has more of a goblin-like look IMO. I don't even believe it works for captain marvel. In Captain Marvel his armor has a dark green tint reminiscent of the Kree from the comics. The re-used hood I can handle, but I'm disappointed in the lack of war paint. That's either an extremely careless omission or lego being worried people might think it's blood, which is also a bad justification for not including it.
  14. AT-TE: $140 for 3 212th Foil Pack: Not in the United States, where a very large number of lego fans live Advent Calendar: 1 for $40 Battle Pack: 2 or 3 212th and an airborne or two for $20. It seems pretty dang clear why a 212th battle pack is so requested, especially when the majority of battle packs we get are clone packs anyway.
  15. I suppose that's possible, but I'm not too sure. After all, criminals in the real world are a far cry from the goofy robbers of lego city (and the lego city police aren't armed and don't have to deal with anything darker than theft). I feel like it'd have been pretty clear to everyone that lego's own colorful castle theme wasn't game of thrones. That said, we know how controversy-averse lego tries to be sometimes, so I suppose you could be right. I'm not sure. I feel like one of the good ways to judge the potential success of a wide theme would be a smaller set, not a $400 set for AFOLs. That said, you're right that a lot of castle parts have been showing up, so if a further theme were to arise, the low budget would stop it from being as big a deal as the existing sets. How far off is the MTS? It's not this year, is it?
  16. Thanks. I feel like this pretty empirically shows why we don't need more 501st troopers anytime soon.
  17. He's a specific guy, but in general, yes, female magicians would be a good way for lego to add some gender diversity without annoying people who want a more standard knight army. What he said- knights were primarily men. Not to get even farther off topic, but... yes. It's common knowledge. Adaptions of comic books, anime, historical figures, etc. Alright, unless it's to respond to someone specifically responding to me I think I'm done with that. Maybe, but assumably this market set will have a much larger print budget than the GWP, right? I don't know that it'd be the best use of that budget, but it's certainly something they could do. It's nice to see that classic castle is getting somewhat of a focus, but I wonder why we haven't seen anything resembling a dedicated castle theme in some time. It's not like classic space, where a licensed theme would dominate it's sales. Is there just not an interest in the medieval era from kids?
  18. Blade is being produced by whoever's currently in charge of Lucasfilm's movie production, apparently. No offense- It's your opinion, after all, but I'm SHOCKED that you'd place the marvels over wakanda forever. I didn't think it was "pure cinema" like a lot of the fanbase (though I also thought Black Panther 1 was overrated and a pretty standard MCU movie), but it felt a lot more coherent to me than most of the post-endgame MCU. My ranking would be: Excellent: No Way Home, Guardians 3 About standard infinity saga quality: Shang-Chi Lower end of infinity saga quality: Wakanda Forever, Dr Strange MoM, Awful: Quantumania, Thor 4 I literally couldn't finish the film: Eternals I forgot black widow was a movie until I looked up the marvel releases to make sure I had everything, so make of that what you will. Haven't seen the marvels, and don't plan on it.
  19. Be cool if they made it 3 normal, 1 airborne, and swapped the tri-droid for a crab droid. What's especially funny to me is that lego won't stop making clone battle packs, and this stops the next one from having a BARC, which means there's pretty much nothing left besides another AT-RT. But yeah, the 501st has been so heavily overrepresented in lego over the past few years. Someone can run the numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had more 501st troopers since 2020 than we have had stormtroopers. My guess is most realistically, a single 501st clone and nothing else. 2 501st troopers would be nice. I don't think we'll see an anniversary minifigure in sets based on new content. That's more a gut feeling than any hard data, but I just don't see them doing it. I don't think they'll have anniversary packaging either.
  20. I don't think it's a massive deal, but look, soldiers are predominantly male, even today. The beautiful thing about lego is that if you want a female soldier, you can stick a female head on a knight torso. (Or vice versa, hence why I don't think it's a huge deal). As for "accuracy doesn't matter since it's fantasy", sure. But you could say the same thing about giving the king a funny hat instead of a crown. Doesn't REALLY matter, but it's nice when the things that aren't bombastically fantastical are kept generally accurate. Like I said, not a big deal. But personally, I like the majority of my soldiers in my collections to be men, just because that's how it was/is. And seeing people claim that preferring to mostly have male soldiers is sexist is insane to me. One thing that could make both groups happy is introducing an amazonian-inspired sub-faction.
  21. The Loki finale was beautiful. No other way to describe it. That said, I don't think we could get any sets of it. I'd love some representation of that final scene, but I can't see how it could be pulled off in lego form. And I don't necessarily want a figure of that new outfit either, it would feel weird displaying that alongside the other heroes. Just slot mobius in a CMF or something and I'm good.
  22. 100% agree. It's one of those things where I hear "lego doesn't listen to fans" and just wonder if they've seen store shelves. People were demanding clones, and they've given us so many that I'm starting to get sick of them. After this 2024 battle pack, the only clone set I want left is a cheaper 212th set. I have just about enough clone troopers now. On the bright side, army-building some form of clones should become much more affordable as time goes on, now that the supply is so saturated.
  23. All great as always. I have to agree with your favorites of each wave, though I might swap out the raddus hanger for the bombers. Such a cool design in a movie that I otherwise wasn't a fan of. 24. Remember that new prints do cost money, and while LSW does have a much higher budget than other themes that have to worry about this like superheroes, it still does have a budget. Not to mention at the rate lego's going, they're going to burn through the remaining major legions pretty darn fast if they start putting more than 2 legions per HY.
  25. I never had an issue with the 2-faction packs so long as it was grunts from each side. The pack with 2 endor rebels, a stormtrooper, and a scout trooper was awesome, and I'd be similarly happy with a set including 2 snowtroopers and 2 hoth rebels, or 2 rebel fleet troopers and 2 stormtroopers. The issue with this one is it's two generic imperials and two NAMED heroes, (or, in the fleet commander's case, not named, but still like a specific dude)
