  1. I didn't remember his overcoat changed from black to red, but I'm gonna be honest besides that they look exactly the same. I guess his sleeves are poofier in S3, but that wouldn't translate to a fig anyway. Now granted it's enough to warrant a new minifig, but I don't think he'd work as a celebration fig. That's exactly my thoughts. Keeps Sith Revan desirable, but still brings the arguably most famous star wars gaming character into Lego for wide-release. Since the helmet's the same and the rest of sith revan's pretty easy to do, we'd even be able to make him easily too! Yeah, it's really something, huh? I'm glad Lucas was able to make The Empire Strikes Back as otherwise I could see that special killing star wars very fast.
  2. We'd still have to have a Malak Plushie in that instance. Note the wording implies that even if Renown was just lying for some reason and we got no KOTOR products at all, I wouldn't have to eat anything. Is the droideka labeled as 18+? And if not, who do you think we'll see with it? Both leaked figs are heavy hitters so far, so I'd be surprised if it ended up being someone like Shmi. It also seems like they're making them almost deliberately unrelated to the set they're appearing in (Fives would have made much more sense in the droideka set than the Tantive IV, and honestly would have made more sense with R2 than Malak does too)
  3. I mean, if you put rex in a set with the standard Y-wing (let's not pretend lego wouldn't do this for accuracy reasons), do you really think it'd sell any differently than a blue one? Not to mention the yellow Y-wing could get us standard clone pilots. I would love to see a Rex figure in a Microfighter or something just to watch all the scalpers burn.
  4. S3 Greef just feels like S2 Greef with a train on the end of his robe, IMO. I think I'd honestly prefer Carson Teva, at least it'd be a new character. But for the mandoverse era, I think an Incinerator Trooper or Dark Trooper Gideon would be a better move. That said, I don't think we'll get a fig for every set. Let's assume we get 5, and they're all around as desirable as Fives and Malak: 18+ droidika: Mara Jade (Emperor's Hand outfit) set 4: Jedi Knight Revan (white robe from SWGOH, which has already received multiple action figures- IIRC a Funko and/or a Black Series, with a Vintage Collection that got revealed last month) set 5: Starkiller (force unleashed 2 default outfit) or Kyle Katarn Oh, I don't think most people who know about it have ever watched it. It's infamous for how awful it was. The weird segment where chewbacca's grandfather was watching suggestive material in VR, the random variety show bits, the fact that Carrie Fisher confirmed she was on.... the happy powder for pretty much all of the filming, etc. George Lucas is on record saying that if he had the time he'd personally destroy every remaining copy with a sledgehammer.
  5. Don't count your lego deadpools before they release, there's always a chance. I on the other hand can rest safely now that we know a Malak MINIFIGURE is coming. Same here. It feels like something people wanted just as a way to get Rex, and now that we have him, it's carrying on out of sheer inertia. I mean, it was one scene, I'd honestly understand the standard TCW Y-wing more... though it's been almost 7 years since the last system scale Rebel Y-wing, and I'd honestly prefer one of those most. Since Moroff was in the last one, why not throw in Saw and Two Tubes? Nah, lego does this all the time with troopers. (Off the top of my head- Preatorians, death troopers, dark troopers, 212th clone troopers, clone shock troopers, etc) If a mostly reliable source is reporting it, I'm inclined to believe them.
  6. I'll Triple Yeah this. Animal crossing is cute and I'm glad the sets are coming, but I'm not planning on buying any...unless froggy chair is included in one, in which case I'll buy roughly 1500 copies.
  7. I think it's most likely he just finished the information he was comfortable giving out, but on the off-chance he did actually decide it wasn't worth getting insulted over... just reread the pages where he gave out the info. I'll trade you a Fives for a Malak. No interest in the R2 set but I'm getting 2 Tantives.
  8. THIS WOULD BE PERFECT Here's my Ahsoka wave, which will be the next set wave I do after I finish the current one. Eye of Sion's Bridge ($99.99): The bridge of the Eye of Sion with figures for Grand Admiral Thrawn, Captain Enoch, the 3 Great Mothers, and 2x navigator droid. Quote is "What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us" (I know the quotes for these last two don't quite fit the scene, but neither have iconic quotes, and I wanted to keep quotes on the diorama bases.)
  9. We definately could, since Crimson Dawn has been established in other material as a big syndicate. I'm telling you guys, an 18+ Fondor would be a great idea to slot into the one of the 1HY midi scale/helmet/diorama options. No, but Rogue One was still a movie, featuring a lot of iconic locations/vehicles from star wars. I defiantly wish to intentionally continue spelling definitely definately, but I fear you'd defenestrate me.
  10. Ah. My mistake. I definitely (I spelled that right this time, where's that one guy?) agree with your point too, as a fellow Solo fan who recognizes we aren't getting lego solo anytime soon. I could see the Haulcraft showing up as a midi-scale or even a first non-gimmick 18+ set, but I agree with the wider point that lego won't do much for Andor. I view it similarly to why we won't get sets for, say, Better Call Saul. It's incredible televesion, but regardless of standard ratings (I.e. sex, drug usage, violence), it's simply too mature of a show for most kids to be into.
  11. I agree with some of your much wider points here (the recent marvel movies have been bad even compared to the worst of the infinity saga ones, the writers seem to have stopped using the hero's journey and "flawed hero becomes great", etc), but in regard to lego marvel and DC it's irrelevant. Marvel, regardless of the (lack of) quality in a lot of the recent stuff, still preforms better commercially than DC. The toys sell better, hence they make more. And the Average Joe knows which is which, as evidenced by the sales for a crappy marvel movie being far higher than that of an equally crappy DC movie. Batman's the only DC character doing well at the moment, and while his stuff has been pretty quality (putting aside BvS and the Whedon Cut of JL), quality doesn't = more sets. (If so, we'd be getting more Nolan sets than Burton sets. I said it.) Sets based on some preschool spider-man cartoon or the latest marvel film to flop are gonna do better than sets based on higher-quality content because kids are more likely to recognize the former. DC is currently having the issue of most of it's stuff failing not only critically, but commercially, meaning even though kids are more likely to shrug off a movie fans didn't like, they still won't recognize the characters. THIS. As much as I'll stand by everything I said above, I still believe a batman-focused wave with a JL member in each set could do incredibly.
  12. I think you quoted the wrong guy, I was agreeing with you that KoToR seems to have a much stronger pull-even today- than the high republic.
  13. I feel like Eurobricks used to be more civil than this, but anyway: As @Classic_Spaceman says, he did explain it beyond the current DC movies (I'll also point out that he didn't specify DCEU, and we did get sets for that 8th film he mentions, The Batman). No reason to be a jag to other users, and CERTAINLY no reason to say you want the designers fired, which is not only super mean-spirited but displays a complete lack of understanding about the theme. The designers aren't deciding how many/what DC material to cover, they're the ones who- you know- design the sets, and I'd say out of all the problems lego DC has, the designs of the builds aren't one of them.
  14. Guys, leave Renown be. He doesn't owe you direct info (or any info), riddles are better then nothing, and some of us enjoy trying to puzzle them out. If you keep insulting the guy over how he chooses to give out his information (And there are much, MUCH worse ways IMO. He's not creating a spammy social media presence where you have to slog through a ton of stuff to get to the info, and he's not making a patreon or something where he asks for money for it.), he might stop giving it out, and I'll remind you he was the first one to tell us Fives was coming, KOTOR/Malak was coming, and IIRC many other things like Ponda Baba/Evazon, B2 battle droids in the 2024 battle pack, etc.
  15. I think his hint that it would be controversial just meant the fact that the fig was Malak in a $100 R2-D2 set.
  16. I agree, I think the Beskar Mando arms work really well for Shin, giving her her armor while keeping her slender. Wheras the armor above is perfect for Baylan.
  17. Hold on, you can't compare KOTOR to the high republic. So many more people know KOTOR, and more importantly, so many more people LIKE KOTOR. It's considered a gold standard of the franchise, whereas the high republic has been consistently controversial, and as @Flieger says, struggling sales-wise. Lucasfilm has been really pushing it, with the animated and live action shows out/in development, but I don't think lego would have the gall to give us Malak, Fives, and then... some HR jedi? The rock thing?
  18. Oh I have some ideas all right. I want to do an Ahsoka wave and a 25th anniversary wave, but I'm not even done with building the community wishlist wave I was supposed to do over the summer, and I've also wanted to try some transformers in-scale with 10302, I just don't have the time! How dare you assume I would joke about our lord and savior Constable Zuvio? Thanks, I'm trying to get that Acclamator done so I can post the wave. No, that's totally fair. I'm pretty confident that if they went to the trouble of doing a new mold for either character, it'll be one thats specific to one of the two, but you're right that we shouldn't expect Fives or any of the others to be chock-full of new molds. I personally really don't like this idea, though I get where you're coming from. I will say that in fairness I'm not a huge fan of characters like Marrok, who are more slender, having a bulky armor piece anyway, but I strongly feel that if Vader had a chest armor mold he would look much bulkier than vader really should. He's a tall guy, sure, but he's not as bulky as Wrecker, for instance.
  19. Talzin would be nice, but I dunno if she's *enough* compared to the others we know about: Fives and Malak are some of the most request star wars figs of all time. Could always be that the best leaked first and the rest aren't as interesting, but you never know. It's Zuvio-ing time! Still waiting for the long-awaited team up between Zuvio, Dexter Jettster, Chopper and AP-5, a GNK droid, and Hondo. But I can't see them doing a ST figure, I think they're gonna stick to the ancillary material we're unlikely to get actual sets with the figs from. Awesome. I actually made something similar for the community moc wave I've been doing (Just the acclamator left, I'm almost done!), I wonder how similar it'll look to what lego's got: So no doorway? I guess, but Ultron's jaw has that part going up connecting to his "nose", whereas Malak's is a lot more like a bear trap or single metal plate.
  20. If they went to the trouble of a new mold, my guess is it's specific to him. People used the I'm not generally into the statues (though I do have BD-1), but if it looks nice I'll definately consider it. $100 is just a lot with everything that's coming. (Not even just from this theme, LOTR has TWO $500 ish sets now...) I think we have a real shot at Cal, Mara, etc. @NoOneOfImportance, you can change your signature again. Shame it was only a few days.
  21. "As long as we fight don't have confirmation, hope survives." Speaking of which, Survivor Cal, PLEASE. This is our best chance to get the characters we otherwise never would. Mara, Starkiller, Kyle Katarn, Bane, the Shans, etc Assumably for his jaw thing, good to know they're doing him right. Worse than that, a lot of the memes with the "literally 1984" thing are mocking the book's warnings/lessons. I'm so excited. My wallet is crying but I'd sell my kidney for this wave. Under my own "probably going to be super iconic/visually interesting characters" we won't get this but MAN i would kill for it. I've got a custom using Kallus's head on Lobot's body with some different hair, but an official fig would be excellent. About what I expected. It'll be a rough bricklink price for the fig, but I gotta do it.
  22. It's fives, but he's in his stolen p2 shiny armor from the conspiracy arc Oh god it's the crimson firehawk (Realistically it's the $100 artoo, right?) No problem, I appreciate the clarity. So long as it's a minfigure and not a plushie, I'm good!
  23. So from what I'm getting here, Malak is definately coming, and Revan may or may not be? I thought about him too, but honestly given how many options there are to include him in standard sets (honestly, they could slot him into the next AT-ST even), I'd kind of prefer we get people that don't have as many options to appear elsewhere, like Revan and/or Malak. Just want to hop in here- "literally 1984" is a meme. Most people who say it haven't read the book and a lot of em even use it to denigrate the book's warnings. God forbid these kids find Atlas Shrugged. I dunno. Given the two/three we know about are fan-favorites and visually dynamic characters, I can't see them putting "basic human woman in tan shirt and pants" in a set. I think you're 100% on the money on the figs being for the 25th anniversary of LSW though. I kinda assumed this was the fives qoute since he said he'd delayed it, but the controversial aspect he hints at isn't really present there. Almost everybody wants Fives.
  24. I feel like to do it right, he needs a new helmet. That said, they did just introduce the one with holes.... but I really hope they do it right. Ok so Fives, Revan, and/or Malak. I feel like we'll have at least 5 like the last one (Han, Vader, Pilot Luke, Lando, Leia if I remember correctly), so who are we thinking the other two will be? Given the existing names, I'd go so far as to say we have a chance at Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn, or even Starkiller, but it could also definately be less popular or well known characters. Seems like we're moving between canon and legends, so really anyone's on the table. Maybe Saw finally shows up? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! If any of the leakers starting to dump here are able to answer this, are these guys popping up in the 1HY sets we know about, or other sets we don't know about?
  25. Thanks! Very exciting! I'm glad the characters they're putting in (If I'm reading that right) are fan-favorites who haven't been made in wide-release yet. On the other hand, I'm now bummed that we aren't getting the midi-scale Leviathon that I reverse hopiumed myself into wanting. checkmate
