  1. Thanks! Very exciting! I'm glad the characters they're putting in (If I'm reading that right) are fan-favorites who haven't been made in wide-release yet. On the other hand, I'm now bummed that we aren't getting the midi-scale Leviathon that I reverse hopiumed myself into wanting. checkmate
  2. I was considering just not responding, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt and explain my thoughts as if you'd just said something like "I don't understand why the Malak qoute about Revan is being taken as referring to Revan, but the Fives qoute about jedi and scopes refers to fives?" Renown communicates hints primarily by qoutes, whether it's "watch those wrist rockets" or "he doesn't like you, I don't like you either." Let's do some literary analysis for the funny: "He doesn't like you. I don't like you either": The qoute is said by Dr. Evazan to Luke Skywalker at the cantina. I don't remember whether or not we knew the cantina is coming, but we are presented with the question: Is this referring to the speaker, Dr. Evazan (and by correlation, likely Ponda Baba) or the one being spoken to, Luke Skywalker? The answer is obvious: Telling us Luke is in the MBS cantina practically tells us nothing, and is not in character with Renown's limited statements. Therefore, the qoute (as it did) almost certainly refers to Dr. Evazan finally being produced in lego form. "Watch out for those wrist rockets": The qoute is said by a clone trooper in the video game battlefront 2 (2005), referring to B2 battle droids. The speaker, a clone, is likely irrelevant to the discussion at the time, since it was about a clone battle pack's contents. Clearly clones will be involved. The qoute could potentially have implied the set would be based off battlefront 2, but that seems unlikely. Clone sets are rarely based off any specific material in general (see the battlefront 2017 troopers coming with a cannon not in the game and being packaged with a clone wars 03 anniversary badge), and battlefront 2005 features a variety of different clone outfits, but it would be a possibility. The more likely meaning, however, is clearly B2 battle droids. It fit within the context of the discussion at the time, and is probably the most well-known qoute referring to the B2 battle droid, a unit/character without many famous quotes of it's own. *Malak's famous Revan qoute*: The qoute is said by Darth Malak referring to Darth Revan. Darth Malak is the speaker, however, this is arguably the most famous qoute about/from KOTOR in any capacity. Whether the qoute refers to the speaker or one being spoken to/about is largely irrelevant, as the either way, the broader meaning is clear: lego KOTOR is coming in some capacity, of which Revan is the most popular character. In fact, I'd argue a significantly larger number of people are aware of Revan than the KOTOR games themselves. The possibility certainly exists that the coming KOTOR set would include Malak, but not Revan, or neither figure, but Revan is by far the most likely option. "Are your scopes... Jedi-issue, sir?": The qoute is said by Fives to Anakin Skywalker about his scopes. We are presented with three major options: The qoute is about Fives. The qoute is about jedi/Anakin. The qoute is about scopes. The second and third options seem pretty unlikely, no? I don't think scopes really factor in here, and telling us a new Anakin/jedi is coming are hardly news. The most likely option is that the qoute refers to fives, and while it is not his most famous qoute (I'd argue it's the "mission, nightmares" one), it does appear if you google something like "top 10 fives qoutes". Renown's qoutes don't all refer to the speaker or to the one being spoken to/about, but it's usually the option that seems most likely on a cursory glance. Is anyone an idiot to for some reason think his qoutes refer to something else? I never said that. Does it take an english degree to figure out what he's probably talking about? I hope not, I don't have or want one. If I had to put money on it, would I say Revan and Fives are more likely to be what he's referring to than a Malak plushie and some sort of scope? I've put more than money on it, I'll have to eat a plushie if I'm wrong.
  3. Genius. I will be using this in the future, thank you. I need a Pajama Hulk figure now.
  4. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Though if we go off the "could be anything tangentially related to the qoute" theory we apparently have to use now (But I mean c'mon it's clearly hinting at Fives in some capacity) this just means more clone sets. Honestly I still can't think of a KOTOR lego product I'd be disappointed by. My "worst case" of a figless midi-scale Leviathon is actually starting to grow on me now to the point I want to MOC one up.
  5. Can't wait for Lego Emma Frost to be wearing a parka (Actually, that would be really funny, I think I'd prefer that to some black cat type fully covered jumpsuit) Honestly though I think they just need to add a bit (or a lot) to her top, give her plain white legs, and she's good to go+ pretty recognizable. Though I am kind of surprised Marvel hasn't gotten a more conservative outfit for her to be popular yet... for pete's sake, she was teaching schoolchildren for a decade or two. Do they not have a dress code at the X-mansion? I guess beast does walk around in a speedo a lot... Seriously, the minifig count and size really make this sound like it'll be worth the money. Is this the most minfigures to ever be in a single set? The most I can think of is the death star's 25.
  6. I have no words. Honestly. It's like they read the forum and are doing this to troll us. Removing the Phantasm, adding in the batwing and batplane... is this even still BTAS based? I don't really understand the formatting but it doesn't sound like a skyline to me, more like some sort of combination of the wayne manor, batcave, and arkham.
  7. Absolutely incredible. My only wish is we got Stilgar instead of Kynes, but this is double the amount of minifigures I was expecting and truly incredible. I'm very excited to purchase this set. The spice must flow! Stilgar!
  8. Aren't there 3 1HY sets we know are coming but don't know the contents of? I would be shocked if one of them wasn't a diorama. Honestly just don't have him show up. I'd honestly be super stoked for even just a Malak brickheadz. Anything lego Kotor would be awesome for me. Midi-Scale Leviathon, maybe? Hey, the rancor is smiling there! Not to pry, but if you've got anything to add, I think we'd all appreciate it. I need to know! I'm a man of my word. If it's the plushie, I will do what I must. Something's up. I'm putting my money on a midi-scale leviathon that inexplicably has either only a malak fig or no figs, but I'd honestly still be stoked for that. I cannot imagine a single KOTOR lego product that would be seen as seriously disappointing given we've had nothing but a single revan polybag back in 2014. Maybe if it was something weirdly obscure, like a Calo Nord polybag? I don't think his hint has anything to do with the Acolyte, since even if he did appear in the show I doubt he'd be in sets, especially not ones that'd be in development this early on, but Revan is being heavily rumored for that show to appear as a spirit or something. Like I've said, I don't think he should, but there are rumors.
  9. I honestly would be ok with KOTOR brickheadz, but that would definately fit. We don't know for sure what he's referring to though, as he was replying to another guy's insult. Aw, man. Sorry about that guy, some of us like the hints and qoutes. If the source is that it's an Acolyte set, that would certainly set my cat amongst the pidgeons or whatever the metaphor would be. I do NOT like the high republic era, and am not looking forewords to that show based on some of the things the showrunners have said about SW as a whole, but I suppose when it comes down to it a lego Revan would be a lego Revan. Keanu Reeves has been the go-to Revan fancast as long as I can remember, which hurts the validity of those rumors.... not to mention Reeves is known for turning down contracts with big companies, such as supposedly marvel multiple times, so I'd be shocked if they got him for a disney+ show. ^This I'm honored.
  10. This really doesn't seem all that complicated. Reliable source quotes kotor- doesn't matter whether he's specifically referring to the character the qoute is about (Who's named in the qoute, by the way) or the character who said it- Kotor- of which Revan is the main character- lego material is coming. This is not really a leap in logic. I don't think there are any plushie-able characters in Kotor. That said I, a grown man with no plushies, would buy a Lego Nihilus plushie, so get on that, disney. Oh if you hadn't specified direct tie-in you'd be in a ton of danger, it's fairly likely they're putting wolverine and Deadpool together in an 18+ set in 2024.
  11. "Just to make sure nobody forgets this one: I will film myself eating a Deadpool minifig dressed as Deadpool and put it on Youtube for the world to see if TLG release at least one minifig-based tie-in set for that film. And by that I mean actual tie-in products, no Suicide Squad shenanigans" - BrickBob Studpants This you? I'll make my stance clear here. "If Renown's hint about Revan/Kotor ends up resulting in the only Kotor/revan related lego product releasing being a Darth Malak Plushie, I will eat the darth Malak plushie on camera and upload it to youtube within one week of the plushie's release"
  12. Guys we're all thinking about this wrong. It'll be a photorealistic Mark Zuckerberg minifigure, the designer misunderstood being asked to make a lizard minifigure. That said, it feels obvious to me he should be olive green. What are the other options, realistically?
  13. I like this, I'll give my own. These aren't all meant to focus on super-realism, but I give my thoughts after detailing the set.
  14. I'm a sucker for the more esoteric aspects of the force, and I kind of want Ahsoka/Ezra/Etc to have their own major threat instead of fighting the first order and tying into the sequels. Abeloth is perfect for both. An incredibly esoteric figure, a horrifying-looking one- which we don't normally get in star wars- and a threat arguably more dangerous than palpatine, given that she's a god, not simply a sith. We know Filoni had something in store for her at some point, too, since he asked the novel writers to make her a Mortis God, and Filoni's said multiple times he's clearly not done with the Mortis gods. I would love it if we got some sort of retcon that Abeloth revived Palpatine to keep the son of Skywalker busy while she began to take a more physical form. This also ties into my crackpot theory that Anakin has taken on the role of the Father, and that Ahsoka actually died in ep4 and he revived her by making her Ahsoka the White. Dude, come on. If it is a Darth Malak plushie, I will eat one on video. If it's a brickheadz pack, I wouldn't be mad, that's still a Kotor set. More lego revan is clearly coming by that statement, I'm not going around saying "UCS Leviathon with dual molded legs and arms revan minifigure coming".
  15. YES. YES. YES. I agree. An angry face without the mask would be super nice, and only a single new print, plus they could re-use it all over the place if they didn't print the mask. That said, a single face print isn't a dealbreaker for me, so long as the sandman build and Lizard fig are good this'll be a top-tier set. See and this is what I'm saying. How come the NWH sets, based on one of the biggest movies of all time, are pretty reasonably priced, and the X-men and Marvels sets are double what they should be? This reminds me of when it was rumored the 332nd battle pack would be $27, or that the Lost Tomb would be $80, but in those cases they turned out to be reasonable prices ($20 and $40). The Hoopty RELEASED with the $90 price point, and I can only assume the X-jet will as well, given we're closing in on January.
  16. You are aware of who Renown is, right? He doesn't just post random stuff. Almost every post he has on this site, at least in the last few years, is a direct hint for an upcoming set. Not to mention, he posted it to the 2024 news thread, so it's not like he just randomly went "huh cool qoute" Absolutely no hopium involved in this one. They have been expanding into the 18+ market, so I could see them just straight up doing a KOTOR set. Whatever it is, we know something KOTOR is coming, since Renown doesn't just post whatever.
  17. I don't really mind. Obviously we had to have a spider-man, and it's not like there was anyone else at the battle. A minifig sandman could have been nice, I guess, but obviously we were going to have a spider-man here, and I don't mind them keeping the other two exclusive to the $100 set. Electro makes the most sense as the other re-use, too, in my opinion, since he showed up alongside Sandman and Lizard before the others. It's funny, the set almost sounds like it's based on what marvel was pretending the final battle was before the movie came out- a 1v3 of Tom Holland's spidey vs Lizard/Sandman/Electro
  18. I totally agree. Like I said, I had my complaints about some of the choices in the ending but I loved it overall. The three main things I wanted happened, I suppose: But yeah, we NEED more sets. The Chimera, Morgan's shuttle, playsets based on Perida or Seatos, etc. Ok, are we all just ignoring that Renown told us WE'RE GETTING MORE LEGO REVAN? This feels like MASSIVE NEWS.
  19. At least that made sense! Hulkbusters sold well, kids liked them, and aside from the $550 one that wasn't for kids, they weren't terribly overpriced, at least not to the extent of the Hoopty or X-jet. With these two, though? The marvels aren't all that popular. The X-men ARE at least highly anticipated, but lego shot themselves in the foot by releasing two of the set's 4 characters for individual sale a few months before. Why spend $80 on an X-jet with 4 X-men when you can spend like $15 on 3 X-men? is a ~300 piece jet with a single fig worth $65? I googled Hoopty to see if it was a reference to something from the 90s, and nope, it's so much funnier than that. Hoopty is slang for an old, worn out car. So lego is charging $90 for a 420 piece set that's name means "junk"
  20. We could always get a set based off my favorite scene/shot from the episode But seriously, while I do have some gripes with the finale- the fact that the above is the ONLY such scene/shot in the episode of that, , it was a great show overall with lots more material for sets and figures. I could see a few potential playsets off of Perida or the map site from ep4, as well as the Chimera, Morgan's shuttle, Baylan/Shin's old shuttle, a playset with Sabine's speeder and home, etc.
  21. Very nice. How did you get the 2 windscreen curved slopes to attach to the rest of the ship on the N-1?
  22. I was talking about the X-Jet, which while I guess now is usually a spaceship, we haven't seen images yet. As for the Hoopty, which is one less figure and a handful more parts for $10 MORE... I don't even think the ship looks all that good. I really don't understand why they're going so high for these two in particular. Like, the marvels are far from Marvel's most popular characters (Also, I hate that I'm gonna get the movie as a search result instead of the comic series of the same name... one of the best comics of all time), why is this so overpriced but the NWH set was pretty reasonable? And as for the X-men, it makes total sense for lego to assume that people will shell out for their grand return... only they just released some CMF figs, so two figs'll either be repeats of ones you can get for $5-6 or slight variations, and the two who are "new characters" have been in sets before... Fair.
  23. With 359 pieces and 4 figs at $80 this thing would have to have the four figures be bigfigs for this to be even remotely close to a good price. Seriously. Is the goal to have this on sale for some reason? I always counted it as a mark in favor of the quality/success of lego that it was hard to find sets on sale. But recently the stores near me are filled with queer eye, UCS landspeeder, Wakanda Forever, Eternals, and Ninjago Core sets on clearence. Given that the BP bust and Hulkbuster also saw crazy discounts on lego.com, and that the Hoopty is likely to encounter the same fate (I have a feeling that the X-jet might somehow sell fairly well just based on the number of x-men diehards who won't care if it's overpriced), it does not put on a good look for marvel. Whoever runs the site is ashamed of the set's price lol.
