  1. Should be Jan 1. I look forewords to staying up until midnight to secure a purchase.
  2. No, I totally get what you mean. Literally speaking, that's not the issue- the Bugle is hollow, but doesn't have this sort of feeling of emptiness the tower has.
  3. This would be excellent. For the marvels, they could have done a set with the three marvels, the villain lady, and some terrain or a midi-scale hoopty (which given the shape could have still fit the three) for like $40. Some other examples: GOTG 3: Since it's a team-up film, I think 2-3 sets is fine, but the baby rocket's escape ship set seemed like a bad idea. Here's what I would do: Guardians headquarters ($34.99): Larger headquarters with an armory and exploding wall. Comes with Adam Warlock, Nebula, Star-Lord, and Rocket Raccoon The Bowie ($119.99): A bit larger than the official one with The High Evolutionary, Drax, Groot, Mantis, Cosmo, Kraglin, and Gamora. Quantumania (Though I guess it did only get one set, I think this one would have sold better): Modok attack ($24.99): buildible Modok and time chair with wasp, battle-damaged Ant-Man, and Kang. Wakanda Forever: Keep the throne room set the same, but add Nakia. Change the Sunbird's figs to Shuri (BP suit), M'Baku, Namor, and Ironheart mk2. Okoye would be available in the hulkbuster around that time anyway.
  4. I'm going to be the grump here and be happy that Avatar sets are selling poorly. Should've given the bigger wave to Indy, Lego. I think it's kind of funny the hoopty's already hitting 20% off. I haven't checked the targets around me yet but lego almost NEVER goes on sale there. I think the only ones I've ever seen on sale at my targets are the Eternals sets and the Queer Eye set. They didn't even discount the Trench Run when it was one of the only sets left on shelves around last christmas. Clearly target isn't anticipating the Hoopty to have a massive spike in purchases after the movie, if they're already putting it on sale. All that to say, between that, the Black Panther 2 sets I see on sale at walmart, and the eternals sets hitting huge discounts at targets and even lego itself, I wonder if lego's going to start cutting down on releases for newer films and focus more on the infinity saga and more general spidey/avengers sets. Marvel movies being blockbusters is no longer a sure thing, and it might make sense for lego to start focusing on evergreen stuff like Spidey and the mainline Avengers.
  5. I thought about that, but I feel like the fact that it is a small part of a $160 set is enough to differentiate it. Besides, the Microfighter could also be seen as "competing" with the system one to that extent. As for the minifigs, I just don't think any non-anniversary figs are desirable enough that lego would tank the set's sales by putting the Rex fig out first. By having the fig out in a $13 set, a lot of people are going to get it just for Rex. Then, if they were to release a system one after, they've shot themselves in the foot by removing the massive draw of Rex in a non $625 set. Anniversary figs, no? Those are all Mando sets, though. I think there's a correlation there. The sets based on new content aren't considered part of the anniversary for whatever reason.
  6. It's close, but not quite. Tallie Lintra's A-wing comes to mind, and if we want to get really pedantic, the ski speeder in the system set technically had a different color scheme, with red accents instead of blue (That said, I don't recall accents of any color on the ones in the film...) I don't think there's an actual link, I think it's just that sets that get microfighters tend to be either iconic vehicles or from whatever new film is out, and those tend to already have system sets. This rex one is a variant of a pretty well known vehicle (the y-wing) and is probably mainly coming out because they know how well a $13 set with Rex will sell. For a system set coming anytime soon, I dunno. On the one hand, we're overdue for a system Y-wing, but I feel like the Rebel one is more popular/iconic overall and it's a sort of "we always get boba's slave 1" situation. I feel like if a system version of rex's Y-wing was in the pipeline, they'd avoid the microfighter to get more sales of the system one from people wanting a rex fig but not wanting to spend hundreds.
  7. As for the first comment, my guess is that was just where it was easiest to print. I don't think we've seen anything on a piece that curvy with a center patch. As for the second, I believe it can be either, though we know many of the big ones are fans. The graphic designers who make the figs assumably follow a similar pattern, and at the very least have plenty of source material they should be referencing when creating a character, as Disney/Marvel/whatever does exert influence on the final product. All that to say, no one guy dropped the ball on this. It was a group of people from at least 2 companies deciding it was "good enough"
  8. All of your ideas for these are great, but these two would be my day 1 buys. I could easily see something like Poe's X-wing vs FO TIE fighter coming this summer or next year. The Mid-scale resistence bomber set sounds awesome, it'd be really cool if it was something like 3 bombers on the stand. I'll do the same thing, but from the opposite direction. I'm switching up my standard list to more accurately reflect lego's waves, though still a little in between. The Phantom Menace: Microfighter: Republic Cruiser ($9.99): Obi-Wan Kenobi Microfighter MTT ($9.99): B1 battle droid commander Battle Pack: Naboo Defense ($19.99): 2x naboo security, 2x gungan warrior. Build is a Kaadu with Boomba cart. Battle Pack: Trade Federation ($19.99): 4x b1 battle droid, 2x battle droid pilot. Builds are a STAP and droid carrier like in the 2007 battle pack. System sets: Vulture Droid ($14.99): 1x b1 battle droid and Nute Gunray. Desert Duel ($24.99): Maul's Bloodfin speeder and a small bit of desert terrain, including a moisture vaporator with a feature to knock it over. Comes with Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Young Anakin Queen's Rescue ($34.99): 2x b1 security droid, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, and 1x handmaiden. Build is a facade of a naboo building with a balcony and foilage up the side. N-1 Starfighter ($49.99): N-1 (significantly downsized from Mando's version) and a segment of Naboo Hanger interior. Comes with Young Anakin, 1x naboo pilot, R2-D2, 1x pilot battle droid, and 1x security battle droid. Battle of Naboo ($89.99): AAT and Flash Speeder, as well as a bit of theed palace wall that can connect to the other two sets with Naboo Architecture. Comes with Padme (battle dress), Captain Panaka, 1x naboo security officer, 1x flash speeder pilot, 2x b1 battle droid, OOM-9, and 2x droidika Republic Frigate ($129.99): Republic Frigate with 2x Judical officer, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Nute Gunray, TC-14, and 2x security droid. MTT ($159.99): Largest MTT yet with a rack that can fit 24 B1 battle droids, as well as a cockpit area. Comes with 24 b1 battle droids, 2x pilot battle droid, 1x PNK droid, Captain Panaka, and Jar Jar Binks. Midi Scale: Royal Naboo Cruiser ($69.99) Diorama: Saving Naboo ($79.99): Sort of a mix between midi-scale and a diorama, this features a midi-scale Lucrehulk with naboo fighters and vulture droids swirling around it, as well as a "floor" with the planet and stars. Quote is "Now this is Podracing"- Anakin Skywalker. Diorama: Duel of the Fates ($89.99): Naboo generator room catwalks with pillar thing on one side, elevated a fair bit. Comes with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-gon Jinn, and Darth Maul. Quote is "NOOOOOOO" -Obi-Wan Kenobi UCS: UCS MTT ($699.99): Massive MTT that can fit a hundred fourty-four battle droids inside it, and has a sizable cockpit. Comes with all 144 b1 battle droids, as well as Captain Tarpals and Jar Jar Binks.
  9. ... yes, you're proving our point. Marvel releases are in the top 10 movies this year. The Marvels is tracking for significantly below that. We're talking about how the film seems like it's going to be a bomb for the company, and how it's predicted poor performance could impact sales of the tie-in set. Insulting people, as you did @Legocentrico, doesn't change box office predictions, and I have absolutely no idea where you think the Meg factors in.
  10. It's worse than a Hoopty. The Hoopty is going to sell terribly, whereas being the first standard system X-men set in a decade (and the first one in a decade period to feature characters besides wolverine and magneto), the X-jet will probably still do pretty well, and therefore reinforce to lego that they can do this type of thing. Plenty of movies have done well this year, marvel movies included.
  11. Place your bets now: Does the Hoopty sell well when it goes 40% off, or do they still have trouble moving it like they did the BP bust? There definately is a connection. People loved the lego set ironically BECAUSE morbius was a flop, and it made it a huge meme. A $25 set with a figure based off one of the year's biggest memes is going to do just fine in the adult demo (and don't forget assumably a large chunk of the sales were kids who wanted Miles and... his car... not to get on that but I still have trouble believing even 6-8 year olds want their spider-men to drive around). A $90 set based on a movie people just don't seem to care about is not going to do well among any demos.
  12. @NeutralNoodle is the only leaker I trust. Long Live Renown! The most recent batch of leaks of "summer" sets being fake makes me wonder, what are the release dates for the three real ones that leaked? I would assume the other Mando S3 sets are coming in may with Grogu's escape, but the Y-wing could slot anywhere into 1HY.
  13. I agree with all of this except for dark red. I know redheads have a history of getting shafted in adaptions (and I'm not just talking about the more well-known ones like MJ and Carnage. Daredevil might be the best marvel project, but I still refuse to forgive Charlie Cox for not being one of my people.), but Rogue has generally always had brown hair. As for print difficulties... it's 2023. Lego should be able to apply some white print to the fig.
  14. Sure, it may not have been the first time they saw this stuff (it certainly wasn't the first us fans had heard of it, we'd known Thrawn would have kintsugi stormtroopers and a golden-faced stormtrooper captain for FOREVER before the show premiered) but unless this is the first time they've been provided with the info, I can't see us getting stuff before september at the absolute earliest, as much as I'd love it. Assuming they knew: Unless this is the first time they've been given that, we can look at their track record for older sets. Mando S3- 14 month turnaround for 2 small sets. Mando S2- 9 month turnaround for less spoilery sets- I think the only thing not in trailers was the Dark Trooper- 16 month turnaround for fully spoiler set. All that said, I think the absolute earliest we could see something like the Chimera is September 2024, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for any spoiler content before January 2025. TBOBF is an interesting outlier here, with Mando's N-1 releasing only 6 months after it aired, but I have to assume they knew about it well beforehand and lucasfilm didn't consider it a spoiler in the way they did all this other stuff. Assuming they didn't know: Look at how long it took them to do Baby Yoda, maybe the single most merchandisable thing to happen to star wars since it's inception. Took almost a full year to add the fig to a set that was almost certainly already coming, and like 10 months just to get a brickheadz out. It's also an absurd amount of detail for something assumably coming in 11 months. Why are we giving this guy any attention? Does he have any record at all? Honestly it sounds realistic enough to me but the issue was the source had absolutely no reliability as far as I'm aware. It'd be like me saying that they're doing a new Millenium Falcon this summer. It sounds plausible enough, but I have no actual info on it, and no record of getting things right. @Kaijumeister did absolutely nothing like this on eurobricks. No one is harassing members or anything on this site, unless it's all happening via direct message.
  15. Not that they couldn't have hypothetically had something planned before, but if they didn't, we've seen time and time again that lego's turnaround time is over a year. No Way Home, Mando S3, etc. I would be shocked if something as big as the Chimera released less than a year after it's appearance in Ahsoka.
  16. Yeah the other two being fake was understandable. Now, the headhunter was at least realistic, but it still seemed too early. Would that mean these other sets are may? I could honestly see the Rex set being january if it wasn't for how late in the game we found out about it.
  17. Darn, I thought I'd spelled it right enough times for autocorrect to take over. But I was under the impression blue curtains is a reference to how english teachers often try to derive a deeper meaning from details where no deeper meaning is intended. Add on that it was Renown's response as we were all speculating to the meaning of his hint, and I think he just meant his wayward son comment was just a joke to @ArrowBricks's comment about having attempted to navigate the discord cesspool. I mean, sure, but I haven't seen any of those from reliable sources. We either get cryptic hints from guys like Renown who are pretty much 100% reliable but don't want to lose their jobs or straight info from leakers who think they're safe delivering it. Even with the more clickbaity "leakers", they tend to say a specific thing rather than just "something really cool is coming" because you get so many more clicks for saying something specific.
  18. This is entirely unrelated but did you make your PFP a white square? At first I thought it just wasn't loading but I can see everyone else's. But guys yeah I think it was just a response to arrowbricks. Nothing wayward son coming, and definately nothing to be drawn from blue curtains
  19. That would be an awesome name, but I don't know that it'll have a name, just a ship type. Feels like it's been forever since the last named ship in canon. (Was it the Havoc Marauder? I know Kenobi didn't get us any, nor did mando S3, and Andor's Fondor Haulcraft, while awesome, is clearly a ship type rather than a name) They even de-named Slave 1. While I was typing this it turned out Wayward Son doesn't mean anything here, but still, wider point stands. Bring back named ships. I haven't seen the show, but if I'm remembering the actors correctly, this confirms either Batman or Soldier Boy as the anniversary fig. Ah, so just a response to @ArrowBricks's comment.
  20. There's no way we get an Exodus character in the anniversary figs, but holy cow I'd almost forgive getting him over someone like Mara or Revan, that guy looks AWESOME
  21. I mean, the rumors are a little more than that:
  22. Can't wait for harley quinn but with slightly different hair dye.
  23. Darth Jar Jar, holy sh*t guys it's darth jar jar. I don't understand why this is so unlikely for you. We've been getting a ton of clones, and they make sense for all three of the scenes they're in. If skeleton crew is any indication we'll see these sometime in 2025. I can't figure out what this actually means, but for some reason I could see it applying to both Galen and Cal.
  24. I think it's more so that they realized people didn't want a daredevil akin to she-hulk and preferred something more like the netflix show, hence their seeming attempt to retool Echo into something more tonally consistent with those netflix shows. Unfortunately, Echo seems like it's gonna have some pretty controversial stuff- and honestly seems to me more like TFATWS with more blood than it does something like a grounded Loki- and I think they're gonna continue to miss the point of why people liked Daredevil. Daredevil isn't great because the characters can bash people's heads in with car doors, it's great because the characters are so fleshed out. The MCU recently's really been feeling like it's sort of going through the motions of the surface level stuff without getting why the films did so well in the first place. Seeing characters cross over means nothing if we're not attached to those characters. That sort of thing. That totally sounds like something marvel would do at this point.
  25. Look I know lego's been loosening it's standards but is anyone seriously dumb enough to believe that? The amount of parents who'd stop buying... hell, I'D stop buying legos, and I not only don't have kids but am all for them doing sets on more mature properties like Dune. Speak for yourself, buddy. My Jaundice-ridden Han clones are the strongest military force in the galaxy. An army that always shoots first. (No but actually I only bought one due to Han's inclusion. Same'll be true of this beskar trooper pack.) Same here. I really hope that information's wrong and it's just a generic male and female mandalorian. ...why? 3.5 figs in a $30 set is perfectly reasonable, and it fits with lego's attempt to flood shelves with clones. I'm a seller on the site and while they haven't kept me updated any more than anyone else, I still can't access my account. I believe they received a threat of being hacked and to preserve everyone's security they've temporarily bricked the site. I hope they take as long as they need to get it resolved, the amount of financial info that a hacker could get off that site... Same here. That temple rumor is incredibly suspicious to me, too. $160 for a microscale temple is a really weird price. Why not do what they did with Yavin, and just do a facade of the temple with rooms inside? The only minifigure being Yaddle is also suspicious to me. Sure, it's something diehards have wanted, but the non minifig-compatible star wars sets normally don't have figs at all (UCS exempted)
