  1. Could help grow the site. I'm sure there's a number of accountless people reading who don't want to make accounts because they feel that most of their comments would just be "haha" or "good info" or something. Of course it was. At least that ohio guy made some pretty high-quality resin printed parts. This was a pretty simple decal or photoshop job. To my knowledge the ACTUAL clones included are two shinies, a gunner, and a shock trooper, right? 1 new print (shiny helmet) is a little weird, but makes sense if they're putting B2s with potentially 3 new molds in the set.
  2. I'll throw you a happy birthday but honestly this maxifig argument is quite possibly the most nitpicky argument I've seen on the forum. We have no indication that they'll use them again soon, or that they've discontinued them. There's no pattern to draw from for either argument and it doesn't really matter since we don't have any leaks regarding things that could be maxifigs or more traditional large brick built figs anyway. The venom and dock ock set is one of the most intruiging ones to me because I we can't tell what it is. This wave is also very venom heavy and I'm wondering if we'll get a new design or potentially even finally symbiote spidey or agent venom.
  3. Excellent build! One of the best batmobile mocs I've seen, I love the cab. On the note of the side the steering wheel's on, in America (where Gotham is, as you say), while we drive on the right side of the road, the driver sits on the left side of the car.
  4. Yeah it's a remarkable replica of lego's style. It's am impressive fake, if I bought customs I'd buy em from this guy.
  5. There are so many venom designs they could do that I would love, even putting aside the symbiote suit (Why does everyone but peter get a lego fig of them venomized? This wave's especially cruel, both his archenemies get them...) Movie Venom- white lines, no spider-symbol McFarlene venom- more musculature, blue lines for muscles instead of gray Spider-Man PS5- Bigfig Agent Venom Cates run Venom has a couple interesting designs too, like King in Black, even if the main ones aren't big departures from what we've been getting. Hmm. If they integrate it well, I suppose the head could work, but I'm still pretty skeptical. I think it'll look really unnatural on a brick-built sandman, and we've seen solid brick-built faces around the scale that head's at.
  6. I might not have said that right. I wasn't talking about this specific sandman, I was using him as an example for large figures I wouldn't want as brick-built minifigs like 2016's giant man. We know this specific one won't be that as it's got the buildible figure (recent style) head mold, but I also assume it won't be humanoid.
  7. Same here. I hate the piece too, just a dumb molded slab meant to be printed. I have a crippling fear that any future bionicle theme would think it's a good excuse for the masks. While I do want this subtheme of buildable lego figures to stop (I've been ok with 3: Venom, because he can grow to large sizes sometimes, Ant-Man, for the same reason, and Spider-Man, purely because of how cool he looks on @Ransom Fern's hulkbuster.), I don't want them to put enlarged characters in sets as brick-built minifigs. For something like Sandman from NWH, I'd prefer a display that looks more like the shifting mass of the movie character than a giant minifig. They're funny, but don't display well IMO.
  8. ^They're learning. 6 posts before hitting us with the gaming link. But as for the actual topic, I dunno. I agree with many of the others here that it makes sense why we keep getting X-wings, TIEs, and Landspeeders. But some of the quality issues do bug me, and the pricing is really turning me off. In the past year I've really only bought sub $20 sets (Aside from the normal ones, I got too tempted and bought one of those mechs, and yup, they're just as bad as I thought. Nice parts in the stormtrooper one, though), aside from things that seem priced OK like the Dune Ornithopter or some of those dioramas. This past August was the first year since I can remember that I didn't get a single $20+ set from the wave.
  9. Time for a brick built face MOC, that's disappointing to hear. lego's shown they can do passable faces at that scale, and to hear we've wasted a print on what will almost certainly look terrible is unfortunate. I know you leak stuff, so is this last one just your own personal hopes, or have you heard something about the validity of that quicksilver torso? I'm 99% sure you can just bricklink the constituent parts and figs- I don't think there was anything particularly rare or unique.
  10. Yeah, I'm calling this one's bluff. That's the two reliably confirmed, the one I accidentally helped people think leaked along the other two, and one that'd been talked about for pages when the other three leaked. If he doesn't give the specific sets they're in or anything, I'm 99% sure he's just going off what he's heard as rumors from this very thread. Actually, come to think of it, the 327th were rumored for this january's pack awhile back. (As they were for the swamp speeder... man, lego, I don't want many more clone battle packs, but if you could include the 327th in SOMETHING) Is he just "leaking" old pages of discussion?
  11. Yeah. Until someone reliable shares/confirms it, it's just another decaled clone being passed off as legit. I remember when this happened with the 442nd trooper.
  12. Ah, thanks. That's definitely true, but... Axe Woves didn't get a fig, nor did Koska (until next year), but this guy did? Either he was supposed to take Wove's place in the finale, or he's Lucas's cousin. Ah. Maybe it was other people saying they wanted the purple clone. I agree that one in 2024 seems inevitable, though I'd guess it'll be a shock trooper given how long it's been since the purple clones released and how many sets the shocks are about to show up in.
  13. He's referencing a meme about November. Don't google it, the general subject has been discussed enough in this forum since rogue's hair leaked. I could see War Machine being gray with a trans-red accent and Venom being black and white, which would be different enough for lego I feel. I do agree that most of these characters will be new, we're due a new comic Spidey anyway. My guess is wolveriene is either the mech one or the CMF one with plain arms and legs. Magneto's anyone's guess, that helmet mold might be gone by now, they might just give him hair and not make a new mold. I feel pretty confident in that Quicksilver torso being real, so assumably he is coming. I suppose it's possible he was scrapped from the tower, but if they left him out to throw in one of the repeats I'll lose my mind.
  14. Totally agree. They're very easy to obtain now. I'd still like some red ones- one last set with generic red mandos could be nice, just to get some non-evil looking red ones- but that's personal preference. Objectively, we've got more than enough mandos for some time. Yup. I'm starting to wonder if the guy who plays the fleet commander was supposed to have a much larger role, or if he's just George Lucas's second cousin or something, because the amount of merch prevalence he's getting is nuts. I thought the purple clone was in one already, I could be totally wrong though, they don't have the magazines where I live. I just have a vague memory of seeing that online.
  15. Joke's on you, I was pretty young back then- the republic Y-wing and hoth rebel pack are some of the first sets I remember owning. I believe this is the first thanksgiving week since I started following the leaks back in 2018 that we haven't had high quality images of the January 2024 wave by. Though I guess when the "wave" is 2 sets, one of them being 4+ and the other being a battle pack, it's a little easier to conceal.
  16. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the popularity of a movie is 1-to-1 with the popularity of the set, but it's a factor. Black Panther was well-recieved, but the set was such a weird choice (and didn't look all that good IMO), so it sold poorly. Thor 4 was pretty hated, but the set was a good way to get every major character and a nice viking ship at a weirdly good price. It probably also benefitted from featuring fan-favorite villain Gorr and releasing before the movie butchered the god butcher. The No Way Home battle is an outlier to me. I'd guess it's just that kids don't have $100 lying around for what is probably a boring-looking set for them, even if it's got the other spiders. (Also, all younger/more imaginative kids need is three different spidey variants. When I was young the 2012 spider-man with navy blue arms and legs was the Amazing Spider-Man.) With the Hoopty, clearly the set was pretty poorly received before the movie came out. Meaning to avoid massive price reductions, the movie needed to be a hit, so people would swallow the price, lack of a villain, etc, to have a set based on a movie they loved. Since like 5 people liked the movie, the set's gonna hit some pretty massive discounts.
  17. Based on this information, I have developed a concept for a Wayne Tower set: Wayne Tower ($399.99): 23 figures: Batman*, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Joker, Bruce Wayne, Jack Napier, and Harley Quinn. *All Batman and Joker figs are some variant of those appearing in the 2023/2024 sets. The specific distributions are random.
  18. The amount of effort put into this poster astonishes me. They need to get this guy quality-checking the fig designs. If we assume the clone wars were part of that first draft in '75, then 1995 would be the 20 year anniversary. The point is, the anniversary is pretty arbitrary, and just lego's way of celebrating the clone wars era as a whole. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that.
  19. Honor guard are a good shout. Maybe 3x fleet trooper and 1 honor guard. Wouldn't really want to army-build ground crew with my fleet troopers though. Maybe a separate pack with some pilots and a ground crew. The TIE Fighter will be 9 years old by 2024 (And more along the lines of what I was thinking, there's a huge number of new curved slopes it could use that have come out since then), but you're right, the Advanced has been longer without a UCS model and needs one more desperately. It would require the skeleton of the model to be different from lego's standard frigate style, but a $170 Tantive IV definitely could fit a hallway down the center. Empire Strikes Back wave: Microfighters: Snowspeeder vs Hoth AT-ST ($19.99): Luke Skywalker (pilot), hoth AT-ST pilot TIE Bomber ($9.99): TIE pilot Battle Packs: Bespin Stormtroopers ($19.99): 2x stormtrooper, 1x imperial officer, 1x Wing Guard. Build is a bit of Bespin corridor with an E-web set up. Echo Base Defenders ($19.99): 3x hoth rebel trooper (Including a mustached troop based on the one from the old lego games), 1x hoth rebel officer. Builds are a control console and a P-tower turret. System sets: Escaping the Wampa ($14.99): A small wampa cave build with Luke Skywalker (Hoth) and a Wampa Bigfig. Cloud Car ($29.99): Cloud car build with Lobot, a Cloud Car Pilot, and Boba Fett. Snowspeeder Assault ($34.99): A snowspeeder, imperial speeder bike, and small bit of trench. Comes with Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, and 2x snowtrooper. Outpost Delta ($89.99): A hoth AT-ST (significantly downsized from 2022 version), gunnery platform, and a large trench build with explode features, including on a DF.9 turret. Comes with 3x hoth rebel soldier (with faceprints based on Hazrim Namir, Roja, and Beak), 3x snowtrooper, 1x snowtrooper commander, and 1x hoth AT-ST pilot. Echo Base ($139.99): Ion cannon build and main base segment with bay doors and interior rooms consisting of the control room (in/under the ion cannon), medical bay (one side of the bay doors), and hallway (The side of the bay doors the ion cannon connects to). Comes with Hoth Leia, Hoth Han, Bacta Luke, K-3PO, Carliist Riekann, Toyan Farr, 2x Hoth Rebel Soldier, 2x Snowtrooper, a probe droid build, and Darth Vader. The Millennium Falcon ($159.99): ESB Millenium Falcon with Han Solo (Black Jacket), Princess Leia (jumpsuit), Chewbacca (new mold with studs on the back, where 3PO's head is placed on a small assembly with a printed curved slope representing his other body parts netted up), Lando Calrissian, "Bespin Civilian" (Wilrow Hood), and 2x Wing Guard (Including "bespin guard" from the complete saga game) Midi-Scale: The Executor (Just kidding): Cloud City ($69.99): Cloud city with a microscale Falcon swooping in and a microscale Slave One skulking around the other side. Dioramas: Escaping the Space Slug ($79.99): Asteriod crater build with the Exogorth coming out, and a microscale Falcon shooting out of it's mouth. Quote is "This is no cave". Betrayal over Bespin ($89.99): Cloud city dining room (including the entryway) with Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Lando, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca. UCS/MBS: UCS Executor Super Star Destroyer ($799.99): Admiral Piett (dual-molded legs) and Darth Vader (arm printing, cloth waistcape)
  20. And I'll raise you that technically the clone wars were first mentioned in 1977 and we should have celebrated the 20th in 1997
  21. As for the first part, yes, not anytime soon- but like I said, they've got a number of options. As for the second, I think the mansion would provide more than the compound. We don't see much interior stuff in the compound- aside from the nano gauntlet lab and a couple of office/conference rooms, that's about it- so it's not like it's hugely iconic (and it's silhouette changes movie to movie, so it's exterior also isn't all that iconic). Obviously the mansion has a billion different designs too, but I don't think that's a drawback for the comics like it is for the movies. The biggest reason I think the mansion would be better is the figs, though. The Compound wouldn't really provide us with much different from the last system compound set, the recent A-force set, or most importantly the Tower. The mansion can bring in a ton of classic comic designs and new heroes and villains. The Bugle's giant sign and overall 60's spider-man feel help it pop in a way a wayne tower wouldn't really, IMO. Likewise, Oscorp often has a very sleek and evil-looking building, almost like a futuristic Tower of Orthanc,
  22. I think it's just celebrating the clone wars era as a whole, with the multimedia project starting in 2003. (If you want to get really pedantic and say the first battle was shown in 2002, I'll raise you that technically the 20th anniversary should have been celebrated in 2BBY, not 2023) Good catch. I can't make out what they'd belong to, though. Also, welcome to eurobricks! I like the name and PFP.
  23. You gotta take into account the popularity of the brands. Right now, DC is still the underdog of the two, and even with marvel getting hit with some pretty negative reviews, they're still a juggarnaut when it comes to spider-man and the avengers. We've got the X-mansion this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got Oscorp, the Avengers Mansion, and maybe even the Baxter Building before a Daily Planet. An Arkham or Batcave, on the other hand, could be nice.
  24. He did come in one of the AoU sets, and his torso leaked, so he's likely coming next year too. I don't think dying in the movie stops lego from putting the fig in a set. Off the top of my head, aside from sets based on movies where the villain dies in the movie (ROTJ Vader, Palpatine, and Jabba, AOTC Jango Fett, ROTS Grievous and Nute Gunray, Endgame Thanos, AoU Ultrons, Obidiah Stane, etc), they have done it for heroes a good number of times, even if we don't count sets releasing before/around a new movie, where they might not have known they were dying. Some examples being Captain Antilles w/dying face print, Old Ben Kenobi on the death star, Endgame Tony, Endgame Black Widow, Qui-Gon Jinn (also with dying face print), Coleman Trebor, Mace Windu, Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, Sasee Tinn, etc. There aren't a ton of marvel examples simply because marvel heroes don't often die, and they haven't revisited older movies until recently. We did get Yondu and Quicksilver figs alongside their movies, but like I said, I won't count those since lego may not have known they were dying, and I'm not counting Snapped heroes even in legacy sets just because it feels disingenuous. You know, Optimus Prime's catchphrase. *collapses from bullet wounds*
  25. There's a lot of interesting stuff here. Concord Dawn, the art of the clone arm holding the droid head from one of the gunship/dropships, the AT-TEs on the asteroid, etc. Whoever made this at Lego put a lot of thought into it.
