  1. Indeed I remember this set, it was the one that got me out of my Dark Ages! Though I hadn't heard of The Force Unleashed before, the picture of this set instantly intrigued me enough to buy this set on a whim. Then I found out about the fantastic AFOL community on the internet while checking for more information on this particular ship and that's what got me into LEGO and Star Wars in general again! I love this set, it still has a place of honour in my glass cabinet!
  2. All these MOCs are fantastic but I especially love your Discworld creations! Very nice job, the Rincewind minifig is excellent, although I always picture him as a bit younger, with a brown beard, like in the illustrations from Paul Kidby. Did you design the hat-decals yourself or are they available somewhere on the web? I'd love to make my own Rincewind sometime. Also, excellent use of lighting on the pictures of your latest MOC, very atmospheric!
  3. Very nice! It's always nice seeing Discworld MOCs and I think you caught the bustling atmosphere of Ankh Morpork very well! While having a second look at the pictures I spotted the Duck Man, I especially like the inclusion of some of the minor characters! The vignettes are a great idea, too. Hope to see some more Discworld creations from you in the future.
  4. Just...WOW! The minifigs, the building techniques, everything about this set is stunning. Can't wait to get this set and build it, for me this is by far the most exciting LEGO news this year.
  5. I just got the email from LEGO. I'm a bit disappointed as well, not a single great deal here in Germany. I can get all of these sets for the May the 4th discount at any given time at most stores. If the promo fig would be something a bit more interesting I might have considered buying something for the minimum ammount required to get the fig, but now I'll pass on the offers...
  6. I have to say, those sets are very underwhelming! The colour scheme is badly chosen in my opinion, the builds are unimaginative and lackluster and the minifigs don't look very well designed either. When you look at the licensed sets coming out this year, the quality of these new Castle sets is mediocre at best. Just compare the torso prints to those from the Lone Ranger or LotR sets. I for one am very disappointed and will rather buy some of the older Fantasy Era sets on ebay than these new ones.
  7. Rivendell looks nice. But is it only me or do the ears on Arwen and Elrond look ridiculously large? This set will be awesome for parts as well! Those foliage pieces...
  8. Lovely builds and story! My favourite part is the infiltration through the well, cool idea and cute ducks! I also just noticed that you used different white beard pieces to build dripping candles, that idea is truly brillant!
  9. Well, that's certainly interesting! The tower seems to be well designed and sufficiently big. The minifigs lok amazing, too, not that I had expected anything else. The eagle and the ent on the other hand don't look as fantastic as the rest. The eagle is way to small, with Gandalf mounted on it, it looks kind of ridiculous. 200€ is a lot of money for this set, even if the tower is nicely designed and I've never seen really good deals on these exclusive set, so I'll probably save my money for some of the other LotR and Hobbit sets coming out this year.
  10. Nice review and great pictures! I don't think I'll make any special purchases just to get this minifig but it's nicely done. I still would have preferred some other figure for the promo, something more flashy like another chrome one...
  11. One of the local supermarkets had a sale to get rid of some older toy sets. I bought 4 of the 7914 Mandalorian battle packs and 1 7913 Clone Trooper battle pack for 4€ apiece! I would have bought even more of the trooper packs, but unfortunately they had only one left. Nevertheless, an awesome deal!
  12. Thanks for the review, montyofmusic! I still was in my Dark Ages when this set was released, so I didn't really have a clue about the whole Star Wars line of LEGO products. I have to say that the old sets don't really do anything for me today, but that's probably because we've been spoiled by the ever-improving accuracy of the following waves of sets. But I'm sure I'd loved the set despite its blockiness, if I had stumbled upon it these 13 years ago.
  13. Nice MOC and beautifully captured on camera! The swamp especially looks great and the tree design is spot on!
  14. Fantastic start to a very interesting project! Have you thought about using leave parts from Alt Bricks in white, grey or some other colours instead of the green ones for the foggy swamp surface? I think that would improve the build even more, but I don't know how you feel about those non-official parts.
  15. Very nice! The different angles and colours of the cliffs look fantastic. And I love the green-red-silver colour combination you used for the minifigs defending the tower, great choice of parts there!
  16. Awesome remake, Legonardo! The set looks much more sophisticated yet is still recognizable. I remember playing with the set when me and my brother were younger, this was one of our favourite sets back then.
  17. The new Republic Gunship looks great! I also like the Mandalorian speeder, seems like a nice set. The remaining sets don't really impress me, but the minifigs look amazing once again!
  18. Thanks for the HighRes pictures! Partswise, both sets really appeal to me, but I'll probably only pick those sets up without the figs on ebay or at a considerable discount. What I'm really waiting for at this point are quality pictures of the Rivendell set.
  19. Thanks for this great review, WhiteFang! The pictures are wonderful and the comparisons between the new figures and thematically similar figs from the older series are very interesting. I can't put my finger on the exact reason, but the last few series did not really excite my a great deal anymore. The last minifigure I was really crazy about was the Space Marine (can't remember the official name) from series 7. Nevertheless, I'll surely get a few figs from the new series, especially the Warrior Woman and maybe a few of those Roman Commanders and a Medusa.
  20. Great MOC and a funny idea! Reminds me of this scene from Scrubs:
  21. This indeed looks fantastic. I didn't know this particular vessel and just looked it up on Wookiepedia. The scale is stunning, I can't wait to see the ship when you are finished building!
  22. All right, thanks! 80€ does seem quite a lot for the set, I thought this was just some crazy reseller on amazon trying to make a huge profit while the sets aren't officially available here. Regarding the other non-LEGO merch, at the TRU here they had pretty much everything in stock apart from the Shellraiser, so all the action figures, both standard and talking, the vehicles and some crappy-looking mask&weapon sets.
  23. Does anyone know when these sets are supposed to be available in Germany? The TV series has been running on TV here for a while, as far as I know and I was kind of surprised that the new action figures have been in stock at TRU for only a couple of days. It seems pretty wierd to sell the merch only now, months after the show started. The german LEGO catalogue does not mention the theme at all for the first half of 2013, but I hope the sets start appearing before the second half of this year. I know I can get the sets from a few sellers on ebay or amazon already, but the prices seem very high for most of the sets.
  24. I can't wait to get my hands on the Silver Mine Shootout set! Seems like you get an awesome selection of tan and grey pieces. Too bad I'll have to wait until May to buy it here in Germany.
  25. Love the idea! A pity this takes up so much space on the shelf, otherwise I'd steal this idea immediately.
