  1. The problem is, I don't think trying to draw in adults that aren't fans of LEGO is a good strategy. Those adults might just buy one or two Ideas sets (just because of the brand, not because it's LEGO), and that would be it. In the long term, continuing to release Ideas sets like that wouldn't bring them any new fans.
  2. LEGO won't do cross overs between licensed and original themes unless they are part of something like Dimensions or the LEGO Movies.
  3. With 26 projects being in the next review stage, I fully expect that will soon change.
  4. In your opinion, how would the ideal Bionicle LEGO Ideas project look like?
  5. Because Bionicle was the theme that saved the company from almost getting bankrupt in the early 2000's.
  6. Very disappointed with the results. I think Bionicle, Ratatuille, and Legend of Zelda should have won, but nope. We had to get a non-functional typewriter, another sitcom set that only appeals to Americans, and the Home Alone House, which is just that... a house. There was a lot of potential to get some great sets out of this review stage, but out of all the possible choices, we got the most boring ones.
  7. That's really cool! I like the use of the Metalic gold color, and all those chrome gold coins are a nice addition!
  8. Bionicle isn't a licensed theme, it's an original IP owned by The LEGO Group.
  9. Finally! This was quite a long wait! I really hope Legend of Bionicle makes it. If it does, It will be a day one purchase for me!
  10. Awesome work!
  11. To my knowledge, direct sequel themes are something LEGO has never done before, so I doubt that will happen.
  12. Wow, this is amazing. I love all the colors used!
  13. I feel like most of the time people use LEGO Ideas as just a pool for licenses, so it's a lot more creative and interesting when we get a set that is actually based on a original idea instead of a license. Not to mention the fact that those original ideas have a more universal appeal, unlike the licenced projects that appeal only to a very specific target audience.
  14. City does have them, yes, but other lines such as Hidden Side and Monkey Kid have none at all.
  15. But most of the polybags aren't widely available like most of the impulse sets. So, as of right now, I would hesitate to call them a replacement for the impulse sets.
  16. LEGO themes have always had small sets that were below 10$ so that people who can't afford the bigger sets can still get a taste of the theme from the smaller sets. However, in recent years, that seems to have changed. The smallest sets are now 20$ (and in Monkey Kid's case, 35$), with the only exception being the Ninjago gimmicks. What exactly happened that caused LEGO to phase out the impulse sets?
  17. Yeah, LEGO has done some really bizarre decisions with this theme... If the line fails, those decisions would be to blame.
  18. All those factors combined kinda scream failure honestly. Competition with Ninjago, limited availability, insanely high prices and no discounts are all gonna hold back this theme from being successful.
  19. If you live near Britain, you could also try buying the set from Amazon UK, if you can find it for a good price there.
  20. Agreed. This line has so much potential, but all those things you mentioned keep it back from becoming a truly great theme.
  21. The results were supposed to come out either in late May or early June, but we are already passed that point. Maybe the results have been delayed due to COVID-19 or something like that?
  22. I have a feeling that the Blind Bags will be the only thing from this theme that will actually sell.
  23. This is incredible! Very well done.
  24. They have already released in Europe. Not sure about North America, though.
