  1. I agree on the box art. It was such a weird decision on LEGO's part, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the main reason why Hidden Side failed to be a great success.
  2. I'm pretty sure the 40 minute TV movie is supposed to be a pilot season, similar to how Ninjago originally stared. With that in mind, I'm pretty sure MK will also get a fully fledged TV Series next year. With the exception of lacking gimmick sets, Monkie Kid does feel pretty much like a Big Bang theme, because it's basically a mixture of Ninjago, Chima and Nexo Knights all thrown together into a single theme.
  3. I don't think that's the case... Since Monkie Kid is a Big Bang theme that we currently have. Most likely it will last the typical three years, from 2020 to 2023. So until after Monkie Kid ends, I don't expect we'll get any new original action themes. My personal favorites would probably be The Hunted High School, El Fuego's Stunt Plane, The Lighthouse of Darkness, and the Castle of Mystery. I haven't gotten any of them yet, but I will probably buy them as soon as I can get them for a good discount.
  4. From a certain point of view. Back in the late 2000's and early 2010's original action themes did indeed usually last for less than 2 years, but they were constantly replaced by something new. Mars Mission got cancelled after two years, but was very soon after followed up by Space Police 3, and then Alien Conquest and so on. So even though original themes were lasting a short time, there was always something new similar to it coming out next. Recently though, it seems like LEGO has shifted is business model to pursuing 3-year Big Bang themes only, and that is clearly shown with the fact that Ultra Agents and Hidden Side where the only non-big bang action themes to come out in the past five years. With the huge 4-year gap between Ultra Agents and Hidden Side, I have a feeling we won't be seeing another non-big bang action theme for at least 3 years, if not more.
  5. So... Hidden Side is done already? After just three waves? Dang it... I was really hoping the line would last longer. Hopefully the sets sold well enough for LEGO to continue doing themes like Hidden Side (that don't use the Big Bang formula), because otherwise, we probably won't be seeing another theme like it for at least 3 years, if not more. Does anyone here have any clues about how well the line may have sold overall?
  6. Don’t put your hopes too high. I personally don’t expect they’ll do much with the 10th anniversary. Most of the Legacy stuff they’ve done so far had been pretty disappointing, and I don’t think the 10th anniversary will be any different.
  7. Yeah, I would like that too. I am honestly super tired of the faces they are currently using, which haven’t changed since the Ninjago Movie.
  8. I mean, I guess so, but I don't think producing at least one of those bigfigs would do any harm.
  9. So, when Elves originally came out, I just dismissed it as just another "Girl Theme", and didn't pay much attention to it. But recently, having taken a more in-depth look at the theme, I became a big fan of it, and really want to get some of the sets. But, for whatever reason, the prices for the Elves sets (the Dragons especially) have skyrocketed since the sets were retired. For example, buying a used copy of 41179 Queen Dragon's Rescue is gonna cost you around 120$ at the cheapest, and a sealed one probably twice as much. What exactly happened that caused the sets to became so expensive on the secondary market?
  10. I'm pretty sure that will come out sooner or later.
  11. Those little side builds included with Red Sun's Inferno Truck and the Monkey King Warrior Mech (the Panda Store and MK's Apartment) do look Chinese enough though. So there is certainly some Chinese influence with the designs, but because it's limited to the side builds only, it's quite limited.
  12. It's funny how a set that isn't even part of the main line of sets ends up being the most affordable one...
  13. I personally always thought the Villain vehicles were a lot more appealing then the Hero vehicles, and the fact that so far Legacy has only covered remakes of the Ninja Vehicles is kinda disappointing to me. I really hope we'll get some remakes of sets such as the Skull Truck or the Fangpire Truck instead of more Ninja vehicles.
  14. The fact that NK didn't get any proper location sets during wave 1, but got the Volcano Lair and the Knighton Castle later down the line, makes me think that Monkie Kid might also get some sort of big Temple/Lair/Castle in later waves. But still, no guarantee.
  15. The MOCs looks a bit messy, but still quite intimidating!
  16. Maybe that’s because they want to limit Ninjago this year in favor of more Monkie Kid sets? Or perhaps they plan on ending Ninjago soon?
  17. Yeah, Monkie Kid could definitely benefit from some more Location-based sets. Like some sort of Big Temple set or something like that. Why is LEGO so obsessed with having vehicles only in their current original themes? Are location-based sets just not selling well or something?
  18. Sandy's Speedboat - 60$ Cloud Roadster - 70$ Flaming Foundry - 140$
  19. So recently, my local Certified LEGO Store Website (which was prieviously only selling current LEGO sets) has made a few retired sets available for purchase again. Those sets include 9675 Sebulba's Podrace and Tatooine (2012), 5945 Winnie the Pooh's Picnic (2011), and a few Mixels sets from 2015. Here is a link the the website I'm talking about: https://brickdepot.ro/lego-star-wars-c-3/tatooine-si-podracerul-lui-sebulba-p-17266.html I don't know how or why those sets that haven't been produced for years suddenly have been made available again, does anyone here have any idea about what's going on?
  20. I was really hoping the overpriced sets trend wouldn't continue with wave 2... but here we are. Sandy's Speedboat has 394 pieces for 60$... That's by far the most overpriced set of the entire theme. The other two sets have more okay-ish price per part ratios, but still don't really feel like worth it. The Cloud Roadster is just another ridiculously oversized vehicle, (altough the demon figures are really nice) and the Flaming Foundry looks surprisingly bland, with a unappealing color scheme and all the figures being reused. Overall, I am quite disappointed with this wave.
  21. The addition of the Scala baby is a really nice touch!
  22. What Hidden Side is missing the most in my opinion is Bigfig Boss Ghosts. Despite taking such a big chunk of the advertising, those Boss Ghosts are just part of the app and don't appear in physical form, which is really disappointing. This, along with the fact that we never got a minifig of Lady E hold back Hidden Side from being a truly great theme in my opinion.
  23. So... When is this "supplementary" wave of Moneky Kid supposed to come out? September? December? I doubt the entire second wave will consist of only three sets, since this is supposed to be a Big Bang theme.
  24. I really hope those new sets aren’t as overpriced as wave 1. If they are, I might just end up buying the Monkey King Brickheadz, since that shouldn’t be more expensive than 10$. Is the Flaming Foundry gonna be a Location-based set or a very large vehicle?
  25. Ninjago is one of LEGO’s best selling original themes (or used to be, IDK) so it getting a CMF series isn’t as niche as it may seem. Not to mention, I can see a Ninjago CMF series being popular with kids, because they are the main audience for Ninjago and (most likely) they are the ones who watch the Ninjago TV Show the most regularly. There have been some niche CMF series (such as Simpsons and the recent DC series, which has a lot of very niche characters) so a Ninjago CMF series happening at some point isn’t unlikely.
