  1. "which is better" - that's a loaded question. Some will like the Palace over the Parisian and vice a versa. I like them both for different reasons. I live near Hollywood so the Palace is nice as it pays homage to the Chinese Theatre. Ive been to Paris so the Parisian reminds me of that trip and all its wonderful memories. Really don't think one is better than the other to put it shortly. Get the one You like and you can't go wrong. Or even better get them both if you can!
  2. Very nice work on the Cantina!
  3. Your Lego Room, Everything is Awesome!
  4. talos, Love your Cafe Corner. I've also updated the windows on the second floor. Don't really have the budget for the interior but do have plans to incorporate the future Big Bang Theory Ideas set into somehow. The only other area I've changed from the original is the two yellow tables out front. Once set is done I will post some pictures. Have started the build and had to stop as I miss ordering some of the parts. Checking the mailbox daily for said parts!!!
  5. In regards to the price for Bricklinking the Cafe Corner I've currently spent just around $500 usd. The only substitution I did was to replace the 20 white wall panels (4585448) with 20 white window frames 1x2x3 and 10 transparent window panes. All other parts are original. Only wished it cost me $300 or less!
  6. Well down to the last 5 pieces needed. Everything else is on hand or on its way via Bricklink, Brickowl and BnP. But good lord are those last 5 costly. Average of $9 usd for the Bley 2x2 Lower Turn Plate (4258479) and $20 usd for the Bley 4x5 Right Shop Door (4258477). So thats $60 usd to go. Already spent about $450 usd, so much better than the eBay route for sure. Look forward to building in a couple of weeks!
  7. All it needs is a little graffiti! Its very nice. Good Job!
  8. Last year I Bricklinked the Green Grocer and was so pleased with the experience. However at that time I said I wouldn’t Bricklink Café Corner! Well…..now got about 70% of the pieces for the Café Corner! When I did the Green Grocer I had about 30% of the pieces on hand (thank you Haunted House) and the price on the 1x2 Sand Green brick with groove were rising fast, so didn’t want to wait. With this Café Corner I am starting from scratch. I did substitute the panels with 1x2x3 windows and panes. Rest is pretty close to original model. What prompted me was the availability of the New Dark Red slopes in the Elves line. The rest of the rare pieces weren’t too bad (white skis, earth blue arches, etc.) only the white 2x4x3 windows did some serious damage to the wallet. Like $50 usd for 5 used ones! Couple more orders and will start to build.
  9. Very well done!
  10. Seems a lot of users have Bricklinked Green Grocer into different colors, blue, tan, etc. So who has done different colors for Cafe Corner other than the grey one posted earlier?
  11. BnP is the Brick and Pieces section on the Lego Website. Its found on the Customer Service Missing Parts link. Hope that helps clohr!
  12. Thanks for the info cimddwc! Just placed an order for them. Told myself after Bricklinking Green Grocer that was it. Well now Im starting on the Cafe Corner!
  13. In regards to Cafe Corner, On BnP 10182 has the New Dark Red 1x2x3/73 degree as Element ID: 4267279 The New Elves set 41075 also as New Dark Red 1x2x3/73 degree but with Element ID: 4623597 So is this the exact same piece? Any differences that would effect outcome of model? Thanks in advance for any answers!
  14. Love your front gates. Very nice touch!
  15. Eurotrash, Looks like a new business in your picture "Al's Pets" for all your pet grooming needs! Also displayed mine in that fashion. So the street now goes: PC, GG, FB, TH, DO, PS (Store-Apartment) and finally GE. I have the PR and will have it start a new street along with my modified HH which is now a Victorian style house that sells antiques, the furnishings from HH work great in this regards. Do like the DO as is and not going to modified it at this point. I think the small stature breaks up the street a little and gives it more character. I display them for the most part so "play" is not that important and prefer style and details more!
  16. I agree with the 16 wide modulars consensus. It would be nice to get two modulars a year with one being 16 and the other 32 wide. Maybe once in awhile throw in a 48 wide. Most city buildings have varying height and widths. I don't know if Lego would do it but one can hope!
  17. My DO shipped today!
  18. As of 8:15am on the West Coast all items released today Jan 1st on the US Shop@Home are listed as out of stock ship 30 days status!
  19. What a great build! Used to be thousands of these all over Southern California. Still see them around here and there. Must say this is excellent Mr. Eurotrash!
  20. Fire Brigade - it got me into the Modulars! Palace Cinema - live in Southern California and it is based on Grumans Chinese Theatre. Pet Shop - like that I can split it up. Town Hall - Its big and different. Green Grocer - my first and only Bricklink experience. Parisian Restaurant - like the outdoor dinning area and that blue roof! Grand Emporium - feels like Harrods in London Don't own Cafe Corner or Market Street. May Brick Link Cafe Corner some day and have no desire for Market Street. Do own Haunted House and MOD it into a Victorian House that sells antiques. Not rating it has its not from the Modular Series but I do like it a lot! Will have to see where the Detective Office falls in the list after I've bought & built it.
  21. Time for rampant speculation to commence! 2016 Modular: Corner Police Precinct!!
  22. Like It. Will Buy It! Modular line keeps improving in my opinion. As our city grows, Im liking the run down feel of this DO. Not every part of a city is nice and neat and an architectural treat. The play feature of this Modular is not why I like it. Once I've built these sets they get displayed with the rest and rarely do I access the interiors. Others may actively play with theres. To each his own. What I do like about the DO is all the contrasts in the size and colors and that "Pool" sign. Brick On!
  23. Finally my Bricklinked Green Grocer is complete! The last order of 6 1x2 Sand Green Modified w Groove Bricks arrived today. I finished the build about two weeks ago with some substituted bricks for aforementioned order. Im really happy with end result. I could never afford to pay the high prices on ebay and in the end spent roughly $475 USD. A third of the bricks came from my own collection a third from Pick a Brick and the final third from Bricklink. I did not pay the high price for the 1x8 in Sand Green and used 1x2 and 1x6 like others did on this forum. My first Modular was the Fire Brigade and have gotten them all since. Always felt I missed out on the Green Grocer and that my Modular Street was lacking. Its nice to have in the street where it belongs. I hate to admit but I don't feel like I'm missing the Cafe Corner or Market Street quite like I did with the Green Grocer. This was an interesting experience and so grateful others have posted theres. It help me to decide to do it!
