Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Lego Conductor replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A Post Office with Postal Truck/Van would be a nice addition to the Modular town. Lots of potential buildings left; School, Police, Library, Museum and Hospital and all the various small business to numerous to list! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I hope to get Ninjango City in a couple of weeks. I too have plans to modify into a modular Chinatown type corner building. Went online to Lego to get the building instruction and started a parts list. My plan is to front the base level with a sidewalk that lines up with the official modulars. Also will probably ditch the tower on top and remove the tree structure from the middle level. That's all I got for now..... -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Well Lego between the Saturn V, Ninjago City, Old Fishing Store, Winter Village Train Station and new Star Wars MF almost forgot about the Modulars! Almost. September 29th of 2015 first solid post on Brick Bank and a year later to the day in 2016 first solid post on Assembly Square! I love September. Still holding out hope for a School or Police Station! Library would also be nice. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

After owning Assembly Square and having it on display for awhile with the other modulars feeling a bit meh on it. I think a School would be great, Lunchroom, Library and Classrooms offer a range of styles under one roof and a playground out back could offer some interesting part usage and new techniques. Still holding out for a Police Station as well. -
So really like the AS but want to make it a true double wide modular! 64x32. In addition to increasing the stud with to 64 from 48 want to get rid of the small alleyway between the florist and cafe bldgs. So looking at a total of 20 studs. Plans are to double the width of the shovel pieces (14studs) and add second row of windows to the cafe facade facing the street (6studs). This will give me the 20 studs! Only problem is no room in the budget for the expansion at this time........

Nicely Done gotoAndLego! Like the mod and really liked the change done to the black fence with the white on the middle section. Would really consider doing the same to my mod! Could you show more or explain that mod done to the black fence on the middle section. Again very nice mod!

To echo Legosjaak, 12! On the last page before the back cover of the instruction booklet for Assembly Square you will see all 12 Modulars listed in a picture graph. This should put to rest the is or is not Market Street a Modular debate once and for all!

Assembly Square arrived today! No missing pieces but did encounter this: Opening the enclosed white box: No! Loose parts. What gives? Well this bag #2 looks suspect Why yes its a torn open bag #2. Finished bags 1-3 and calling it a night!

Looking forward to January 1st! As this is a first day purchase for sure! Only one little critique of the Assembly Square and its more to do with how I display my modulars. Don't like the gap between the buildings. Its the same issue I had with the Parisian Restaurant. I display my modulars across the top of my bookcases and I liked the fact each previous modular was flush with one another. I modded the PR and will some day do the same to AS. Anyways Assembly Square looks great and can't wait to get started on it!

Another Brick In A Wall: Bought a second set of the Brick Bank. I also modded the Laundry into its own building, you can see it under the Parisian Restaurant Topic. So in this case a second set purchase seemed more practical. Okay got run like hell now....

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Lego Conductor replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
With this post going on the assumption that the main bldg of the Market Square is 16 studs wide on a 32x32 base plate. So that said: 16 wide MS Corner CC GG FB Corner GE PS TH Corner PC PR DO Corner BB To connect back to the MS, you know to say assemble a square, you would need a 32x48 modular. So as long as you can make the MS into a 16 wide modular you have a complete city block! -

Love this modular! How ever never really cared for the stairs on the side leading to the Dinning Terrace. Recently modded the Brick Bank and wanted to mod the Laundry into it's own 16 wide building. Well with the help of my new favorite baseplate the 8x32 I present to you the "French Laundry". No, not the famous Restaurant in Northern California! IMG_5585 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr

SSJ2 Dark, Interiors: Ground Floor. Need to redo the Teller Counters: IMG_5590 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr Office Level. No changes needed: IMG_5591 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr Roof. Not pretty but it works: IMG_5592 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr

Thanks Mr LegoSjaak! Been inspired by your work with modular as well as others on this site. Consider the hair a homage!! Went through with this mod when I came across the 8x32 baseplate. Really didn't want to do a 16x32 mod. One more mod next. In Northen California there is a famous restaurant, the French Laundry. I own the Parisian Resturant and have the bricks for the laundry left over from my Brickbank mod!

Thank you LegoSjaak and SSJ2 for the kind words. Interior is still a little messy on the ground floor and required no changes to the second floor offices. I bought a second copy as I have plans to make a 16 wide Laundry. Also modded the DO but did Pick a Brick and Bricklink for that project.

Expanded the light blue building and added a newsstand next to Al's Hair: (still working on the finishing touches to the top floor) IMG_5575 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr

Finally got around to modding this into a mirror image of each side that faces the street: IMG_5574 by Lego Conductor, on Flickr

Like this new Modular overall except one thing. Not really fond of the gap between the buildings the Alleyway creates. Will try to mod that once I get my hands on it. First thoughts on a mod would to make it two 32x32 baseplates and extend the cafe part by 16 studs. Not sure how I would go about getting rid of the Alleyway at the moment.
