  1. I think this rumored "Detective Bureau" will be a small town police station as in the "Fire Brigade" is a small town fire station. Although I have been known to be wrong from time to time.
  2. Palace Cinema is the 5th one for sale right now.
  3. Bricklinking the Green Grocer is almost complete. Down to last 82 pieces! About half of those pieces (34) will cost me $60 USD. The 4 white train windows are a whopping $30 USD and the remaining 30 sand green 1x2 bricks with grooves are also $30 USD. Forget about the sand green 1x8. At first I thought I would just order the number needed for the rear of the building, 28 total, as the ones on the side are never seen. Never seen as in abutting the other modulars. Even 28 of those sand green 1x8 would set me back $100 USD. Im on track to spend roughly $450 dollars on this project. I have not seen a recent Green Grocer go for less than $600 so not to bad when all said and done. Look forward to the actual build once I have all the pieces. My only regret was not buying the Green Grocer a couple of years ago for $450 price I'm spending now on Bricklink. For all of those on fence about buying Modulars - please hop off that fence and do it!
  4. Well I finally took the plunge and started "Bricklinking" the Green Grocer. After reading all the posts and realizing I had 750 pieces of it my own collection it was an easy choice. So far I have 4 Pick a Brick and 5 Bricklink orders pending. I've spent roughly $300 and have about 450 pieces left to go. 50 of those 450 are the 1x8 Sand Green Bricks at an average of $3.50 a pop. Like others I will substitute those with 1x2 & 1x6s. Hope to have all the pieces by the end of August. Thanks to everybody who shared their experiences, it really helps!
  5. Were not to far off from a square city block. If we start with Market Street next comes Cafe Corner, turn the corner and you get the Green Grocer and Fire Brigade. Next up is the Grand Emporium, turn the corner and you get Pet Shop and Town Hall. Next up is the Palace Cinema, turn the corner and you get Parisian Restaurant and the 2015 Modular. 2016 is corner Modular and in between it and Market Street is the 2017 Modular. You now have a complete square Modular city block. If you don't count MS has an official Modular you can start with CC and end with a 2018 Modular to complete the block!
  6. Yeah, The Pattern! The Pattern predicted a Government building. So Bank would break (break the bank, ha ha) that idea. Since it's not official I would still like to see a Police Precinct Modular. Time will tell.
  7. Okay Faefrost, Im sold! Now I really want a Film Noir Detective Modular! I'll even use some of that "laundered" money to pay for it!
  8. Would this " Detective" modular break the predicted government building? Or are we getting a Police/Detective/Precinct type modular? Most film noir gumshoes were PIs, would love that type of Modular!
  9. Fire Brigade is the Modular set that lured me away from the Star Wars line. I started Lego back when the first Star Wars Land Speeder set came out. I now spend most of my budget on the Modulars. I've really enjoyed them all and sometimes I'm tempted to sell most my Star Wars to purchase the Green Grocer. All that aside I would like to see: Police Station/Precinct Post Office Bank School House Whatever is released next in the series (2015) I will buy, I will like and I will still be wanting to buy the Green Grocer!
  10. I'm all for a Post Office in 2015. Looking forward to the Parisian Restaurant next year! I know early in this thread that people were discussing releasing more than one modular per year - I would love this my wallet would not!! Why not one modular "Lite" each year as well? In the real world we have a lot of small one story buildings, playgrounds, parks, small plazas, etc. Just an idea.
  11. Got it yesterday! #17345. Order online at 9pm on the 31st (midnight east coast). Box arrived in good condition, no damage from polybag.
  12. Just where are the proprietors of the Grocery Store, Pet Shop, Cinema and Café supposed to put their monies? Shouldn’t that little truant boy roaming our street with that dog be in school or a library? After the local Firemen rescued that window cleaner from the Emporium where or where does he get medical treatment? Why was the local Police not on hand to secure a perimeter for the fore mentioned rescue? My hair is getting so long from lack of a skilled barber that I’m seriously considering building a modular Hippie commune! Suppose our Limo and Fire Truck break down, just who is going to fix them? Point is we have many years left in this Modular series. So many possibilities and I will continue to buy each one for as long as I can!
  13. Ah, some culture coming to our little brick built street! Now we have somewhere fancy to eat after that premier at the "Palace".
  14. Ordered last night at 9pm PST ( Midnight East Coast USA) and received email confirmation at 9:27pm. Today received email at 3:47 stating it has shipped. Originally planned to buy at local Lego Store in the Los Angeles area and tonight at around 8pm final stopped by. They had sold all of them! So glad that I ordered online! Looking forward to getting my hands on it. This is my first Technic set, finally branched out from Modulars and Star Wars!!!
  15. More time to save up some money I suppose. Was hoping for an early February release date!
