CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Maybe. I don't really have a problem with it. It's a possible way to get scum to slip up--and I don't think it gives many advantages to scum. -

The inside is plan lined paper. Nothing special. The back cover is an ad for the film, which looks very similar to the ad they have that comes with the CM fig checklist.- 2,626 replies

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since I don't think anyone has posted this yet, I'll tell you all about it. Granted it's not really a set, but it's interesting. I was at Target yesterday hunting down some movie CMs (Just my luck two Scratchen-Post & Bad cops--now have 4 of those!), and I was looking at a small section at the end of the isle with Lego Movie related merchandise. There were shirts (Though no Benny find yet!), pencil sharpeners, even some kind of Fandango movie ticket cards, but then I saw this cute little notebook for only $2. It caught my attention since it was the exact same design as the printed tile that comes with the new CM Emmet! It's a blown up version of the print, and includes visable words so we can actually understand what it's saying! The printed tile seems very nefarious because of the shark, and frankly it still does. But now we have context! It has a warning that says you'll be sad if you don't follow instructions (Though I wish it said silenced rather then sad!). It also has an age limit of 0-99, and is produced by none other than Octan. I also looked up the set number included (6891), which turns out to be the same set number as the 1991 set Blacktron ship Aerial Intruder. I don't know if this is a conicidence or inentional--but I feel the latter since everything else is so cleverly planned out. Speaking of new movie tile parts, I wonder if we will see more ones. I also picked up the Lego Movie Sticker book at a discount from Walmart, and noticed a sticker of the same tile print, but with three other new ones. They're named instructions, which are handed out by Octan; but these new ones show some sets like the Taj Mahal and the creator house. I hope we get these as printed tiles too. In the sticker book, the description for these is: "Lord Business's Octan Corporation makes instructions for everything. They display the warning: "Failure to follow instructions may result in a sad and unfulfilling life." Just some interesting Lego products I'd thought I'd show.- 2,626 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I don't say much, I'll admit it. And in the previous post I just made, I will admit I had mixed up that section about the weak PR. All the claims yesterday threw me for a loop Either way, I still don't trust Derek. I hope you get it. A fortune teller is not a moster--we've seen a vampire and a scarecrow thus far. The former a clear monster, the latter not as monster-ish, but both are non-human. I know my monster alter ego is also non-human; Helen has also said her's is the mummy (If I remember right), but also not human. Which one is not like the others? I'm intent on lynching Derek because I don't trust his claim. On the bolded section, I'm refering to the fact that the first claim (Derek) is direct form the source--everyone can see it in public and we can all make our own opinions. The second claim, from the faith healer through Helen is secondary, we get everything from Helen, and also we only get things that Helen tells us. I asked specifically for the alter-ego from this healer (I was directly fishing yes), as did Clarissa, and from my knowledge, we've (the public) not recived an answer yet. As I just said, we are getting everything secondary--we don't know the person nor their ego--which just so happen to be two very important things right now. As you said we knew everything about Derek's claim, however we are far from knowing everything about the healer's claim. I'm not saying Helen is witholding information for a devious reason, clearly more it's for protection of the person; but we should know about this suspiscious alter ego--the role is out there, why cann't the ego be? We now have enough claims and conformations of ego's to find a trend. Vampire, Scarecrow, Mummy, Fortune Teller...this new less monster-ish ego...my own is more monsterous then the last two ones--which doesn't help me belive them at all. I was talking about egos in private with someone just a while ago, and they said that perhaps the egos don't mean really anything, since that person's ego was very monsterous but didn't do anything; but I disagreed, everything is here for a reason. There is a reason we have egos, and that reason is that they are connected to roles; otherwise why would they be included in the first place. One may ask why I keep bringing it up, but it's because I feel we can find the ego that doesn't match the role; we can find the fake role in the list of true ones. Fair enough. -

Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well I have to say I'm not too surprised about Kingsley. I thought his claim was the most genuine of those made yesterday, and with the most "monsterous" alter-ego to boot, seemed true to me. Thinking of it now, in hidesight, since we know Kingsley's alter ego of Scarecrow, I feel blocker does line up--a Scarecrow does block crows from getting at the corn--as in the last game, the alter ego's must be linked to PRs, and are not arbitrary. Anyways, I still feel that Derek is scummy. His claim does not match up with Kingsley whatsoever--ergo, a weak PR role that's uncommon and a sketchy alter-ego. We also got that third claim to Helen, the other half of that same weak PR, which is equally sketchy, with with Helen said also is a less monster-ish role then one would think. I'm not convinced. On Caitie, I'm not sure what to think of. Clearly it was a council kill by the letter; and clearly the vampire is very monster-ish. But I don't know if we can assume she had a PR just by her last words. It was odd talk about frogs but it just seemed weird--and really I don't think we could figure out if she had anything for a long time until we can corroborate more with PR's. I actually did vote. For you. Like, Mikatta, my vote was not counted; I'm not sure why since it was identical to others who were counted; and it seems strange that more than one vote would be forgotten. -
I'm not a fan of this figure being used as a Killer Croc at all. The figure is actually too crocodile like--with the long nose and more importantly the tail. Those two things are too far out there for Killer Croc (The tail being the biggest), who is more supposed to be a mutated human, and not a mutated crocodile. I will say though that it's interesting that the TMNT line gets many "half" big-figs, while we don't get any of those from the the Superhero line (Also on my rant, Superheroes misses leg printing too, but that's just one of many things I think our hero line lacks). Anyways, I think these "half" big-figs would work wonders on many Superhero characters who should be larger then standard minifigures, but look too giant as big-figs.

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I'll say I'm testing the waters; this is day one afterall, though you won't know it from all the in-fighting already;and of course we all know how dangerous 1700's ships are. I have to say I don't believe Derek's cop or alter-ego claim, which is why I'm keeping my vote on him. In addition to claiming cop, he says his alter-ego is the Fortune Teller--convenient. I feel that he's scum who in an attempt to save himself, claimed role cop with an alter-ego he knew would most likely not be used by someone else; thus stopping a counter-claim on the role or alter ego. A Fortune Teller is not a monster, especially in comparision to all the other figures that are more "monster-ish" and would therefore be more-likely to be used/chosen as our alter egos. Any streetwise role cop would not counter-claim him on day one, since then they'd be a target, and I don't think anyone would counter-claim his Fortune Teller, since there is no Fortune Teller; rather it's a made up alter ego. This is also information that he threw out after the heat was on him, and as some already pointed out, that it was a signifigant period of time to mean a scum-board conversation. Aside from him, this new Faith Healer claim is interesting. On this Healer topic, first off, I myself don't really belive this claim too much, since it just seems so out there, with no way to prove it (through use, since they can claim fail). But more importantly second, I don't understand why it would be a good idea to lynch this Faith healer rather than Derek--at this current moment. They are both very sketchy, and I think it's very possible that either one or both are lying. Aside from you Helen, the rest of us know even less about this new claim then we know about the last one, and I think it would be even more of a shot in the dark if we go after this new claim--however I'm not advocating we forget about this Healer, he/she needs to be verified, but I don't think we should do that with this lynch. Derek is a better lead in my opinion. Did the Healer tell you their alter-ego? That is a large basis for this current lynch after all. It could turn out that the Healer's alter-ego is even more or less "monster-ish" than Derek's, which could mean something about both their alignments.- 267 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Um, yeah. Re-reading the days thread after a night sleep did flesh out the more scummy behavior from Derek Potatos. Looking over what he said, I think this statment stood out most to me as scummy, or strange/un-town-like the most, since it implys that he's not town and either scum or third party: I think any actual townie would know that last statment is very wrong. Like always in witch hunts, we don't usually have much to go on day one, but this seems more solid than it could have been. Let's see if this lynches a nice human as opposed to an evil monster. Then we can feast! Vote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato)- 267 replies

Thanks! Yes the Chima ones are nice. At the time of this creation, this was the only gorilla to use, but I think he works well if not too plain. However I do think Lego needs to make more new villains like Grodd offically anyways. One of my good friends on Flickr made a spectacular Chima Grodd, you can check it out here.

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well you could style my wig hair...although secretly I'm bald like every other 1700's person. Granted my spectacular face more than makes up for this problem setback. Anyways, we need to start this witch hunt (And I don't just mean you Mikatta) so we can hunt us down some non-evil, non-monster-like folks!- 267 replies

That's very interesting--and good to know that Superheroes can be placed up with Star Wars and City is sell-ability; which means we won't need to fear that the line will be cut short like Batman 1. I do think it's a bit sad however that from Lego pointing out their biggest sellers, Spider-Man and Batman, that it seems likely that they'll continue the trend we have now with the big two and some others along for the ride. It is great to know that we'll get a new DC wave to replace the void left by the movie shift. I'm not too worried about those sets being rushed either, since at this point, I bet Lego only knows as much as we do about Superman vs. Batman, so they wouldn't be any more prepared. X-Jet knews is disapointing though. From the description of a blund ended small plane, it doesn't sound spectacular. I don't know why they wouldn't make it more jet like, as a blunt end doesn't inspire speed. I think it's great however that Magneto comes with white hair, which adds more to a rather meh character design.

CMF Mafia 2 - Confirmation and Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Good! I was starting to think this witch hunt would never start! We've been waiting for like a week! Anywho, Carl Nemoss is here to save the day; so don't worry. Although remember to take a 15 minute break from looking at my face every hour, otherwise your retina's might be burned by my hotness. -
That's disappointing if there really is only four figures. We've only had one X-men set so far, and in our second set, half of the four figures we get are just variations of ones we already have? Really Lego?! At this rate it'll be years before we can even field an X-men team. Granted, that's faster than we can form a Justice League.

Thinking about it now, I think it's very unlikely they we will get a Storm tiara. The show the new Wolverine mould in the prelim, why wouldn't they also have the new tiara shown too? On the previous Marvel prelims we saw new molds (for some things, but not major ones like Green Goblin),mand those were less developed photos. Unfortunately this means we get another wavy woman hair, which is becoming greatly overused in the superheroes line.

A few people have mentioned this, but I'm betting that the Sentinel will look exactly like he does now. This picture looks just as near-finalized as the other early images we saw, and in fact it looks more finalized then some of the other latest marvel images we saw. Though I do find my own words disappointing too. I do wish the Sentinel would have appeared in its own set; a $20 set with two new figs, an updated Wolverine and a larger fuller Sentinel would be spectacular, where as now the Sentinel is more or less made of leftover Blackbird set parts. While also disappointing, I think the possibility that we won't have a pilot is there. I could see Lego just having Magneto stopping the plane mid flight (ala X2) and the mutants jumping out to fight. Though I do expect to see at least two more figures, since sets around $50 usually have 5 minifigures.

Wolverine is ok, and I suppose it's better that we get a new one with a mask, rather than the same old one. I think from what we see, the Sentinal is just ok, but kind of meh. I don't think he has the right amount of bulk he should have; something more similar to the Lex mech would look better--this one seems like it'd fall apart if Wolverine just snarles at it.

CMF Mafia 2 - Sign-Ups
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Darn those monsters are back again! Curse you Lego for making more CM monsters! 1.) What is your favorite monster minifigure? Medusa 2.) What period of time in history do you find yourself most excited to learn about? I am a Classical history major, so while it would be fun and familiar for me to learn more about Rome or Ancient Greece, I feel that revolutionary France or 1692 Salem are perfect analogies for this upcoming game—those would work well! 3.) What experience do you have with mafia games? I've played in six games, but I could still use some work to be honest. 4.) Favorite moment in your own gameplay? Surviving to the end of the first CMF Mafia! 5.) Will you be committed to playing this game and being not only active, but keeping track of time with night actions? Yeah sure, why not. -
Thanks...but uhh. That one, I'm not sure about. I do get requests to make Clayface every once and a while, but I've yet to get the pieces I need for him. In the meantime you could check out Xenomurphy's great Clayface, best one I've ever seen. I will be making a few other AC creations though, and Clayface will come eventually.

Party At Arkham An Arkham Asylum Inspired Build ---- Following a long series of events that could fill up an entire game, Batman faces off against a Titan powered Joker to save Gordon from certain death! As this scene is based off the the location and boss battle against the Joker, the henchmen here too must like in the game, unlock a safe to get firearms. Titan Joker The centerpiece of the build, I build Titan Joker with an emphasis on accuracy and pose-ability. I was going to could, but I’ll just say he has tons of articulation points, allowing large movement in the arms specifically. I did at one point intend to increase the articulation in the hips to allow horizontal leg movement, but I was forced to drop this when it compromised stability too much. Joker’s head was a particular problem that I managed to solve quite nicely. Originally I started with something similar to a cube-dude head. This didn’t work because of the requirements such as the lips and nose. Then, after looking at some more photos, I focused on building a head that was more elongated and pointed, like the Joker in the game. This proved very successful, allowing me to create an accurate head from brow to chin. Enjoy! ~Nemo

Ragnarök Now Redux - Conclusion
Captain Nemo replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I figured this would happen, once I read the dead-board. I knew something was fishy about Hinck talking to him in private but I didn't peruse it further before I was killed. Also TinyPiesRS you left me out of the roles list! How will everyone know I was telling the truth! :) -
Like the popular opinion, I too think the new Magneto is ugly. The first version was perfect, and based off the more famous costume from the comics, so this seems disappointing and unnessissary. I don't know why we need another Magneto again, and hopefully Lego using Magneto here means more new X-Men characters in other new sets. Or it could just mean they're wasting a spot to give us a subpar rehashed villain. I think the latter is more likely. I am overjoyed that we are getting a Storm, if anything to start a regrettably small collection of colored female heads. I don't like her body design though, even without really seeing the torso. The game design was perfect, and this figure lacks everything that fig had. Also no leg printing on Storm, ala Wonder Woman. Come on Lego! Literally every other theme has leg printing. I have to say I'm really dissapointed; to me it's becoming evident that Lego is not putting in the effort that this theme requires in terms of character design (don't get me started on set design), which is actually the most important part about making superheroes into sucessful minifigures.

On a related question to this, is there a certain "size" set that the other builder would make? Like, one of us builds the ~75 euro set with another building a connecting ~75 euro set at the same price point? Or is it two different price point sets? Should we also try to limit our total brick use to that of a ~75 euro set? (Like around 800 bricks?) Or just go all out? Thanks--sorry that's a lot! ---- Also, the super-team of Captain Nemo and MstrOfPppts has been formed! Let all landlubbers tremble at our combined power!

Ooooh this looks fun. I've always liked the pirate theme, and I use to build for it, but I've never posted any pirate creations online before. Either way the collaboration aspect of this contest makes it all the more exciting! Nemo looking for a teammate?!
