I am pleasantly surprised by the X-Jet. It looks nicer and much larger than I thought it would. While it looks great on the box, it does look a bit fat in the actual view, granted the angle of the picture isn't that good anyways). Maybe this means it'll fig a few figs inside? Still not a good view on the Sentinal, but it looks similar to the prelims for the most part anyways, so I'm not too happy with that. He's still to thin--it does look like he's got some short of arm shooting thing though.

News The LEGO Movie: 70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow
Captain Nemo replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Such a cool set! I'm surprised to see it has six cannons (Rather then just the three you see on the box!), and I love that mini Metalbeard! The whole thing is so gigantic. I'd love to have it, but I'm not sure on the price, it's a bit high.- 158 replies

Thanks for the reviews again just2good--you really live up to your name! I love the Captain America set, however I do think the tank thing looks a bit weird. Think I've talked about that before. Anyways, I also love the Juniors set (Even though the price is way, way up there for the amount you get). It has two new variants, a decent robin; I think his face is a bit weird; and an awesome new light blue Batman--it's very classic Batman looking, like 60's tv series! I cannot wait to make builds with him! The only thing I don't like is Joker, not so much because he's used yet again, but more because he's a missed opportunity--with a 60's looking Batman, I wished we would have gotten a 60's Joker! I want a pink suit Joker with a hidden mustache feature damit! Still I actually love that Juniors set, and since I don't have the original, and I hate the new one, that'll be my Batcave!

Thanks for the video review of this set! It's the one Marvel set where I'm iffy on buying (Others I either now I will or won't). It does look much better after seeing more images and the video of the set. I do think it's very disapointing that they re-used Boromir's sheild--I too know nothing about Taskmaster, but I know that's not his sheild! Cannot wait for MODOCK though.

Oh...I just don't know where to begin with that set. Well I guess I can start by saying...no? Just no. I could marginally live with bad design with good figures...but I can't live with two bad things!

Well it's great to know there's suspension on that Hydra tank. I wasn't sure from the pictures, but I think it make the tank so much better. Granted I wish it was more tank like but whatever.

I don't have much of an opinion on the spliting of forums. I don't see a problem with it. More importantly though, I think we should update the banner. It would be really fun to set something up like the Pirate forum did and have people submit photos of figs for it. We could include most licenced themes, although I don't think we should include LotR or the Hobbit. They are licenced, but they've been seperated into a different section of Eurobricks. I think the thing I'd want the most for a new banner is one that changes images at different times of day like the Pirate forum. We could have Lunch with Marvel, sunrise with Princesses, and nighttime with Batman in Gotham! So many possibilities.

People, people please! We are being distracted from the real problem...we need a new banner! I mean Harry Potter is great and all, but there hasn't been a new Harry Potter set in three years! The HP forum isn't even pinned anymore. We are way out of date! We need to update our banner with all the Superhero Simpsons and Princess TMNTs we can! And preferably let's get a sweet banner that changes images at different times of the day like the Pirate forums. But I digress.

CMF Mafia 2 - Day 5 - Film-y
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
From what's been brought forth, and through private conversations, I feel confident voting for Pamela today, the last scum I'm assuming. She's hiding something...that's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets! Vote: Pamela Fettucini (Peanuts)- 33 replies

Anyone planning on participating in the MocAthalon?
Captain Nemo replied to Flare's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think it would be great to form a Eurobricks team, although I think the problem will be that they specifically mention that no team can be formed with more than 2 AFOLS (Which is actually the first rule), which is basically most everyone on Eurobricks. I think "that" concept is one of the reasons I don't really use MOCpages anymore, since to me it comes off as very focused on younger builders just starting out; now I really only show up once a year to compete in Xenomurphy's superhero contest. I'd be interested if we could form a team however.- 5 replies

Such a good film! My non-Lego friends loved it, and I thought it was great. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of turn out; we had like 20 people in our theater, but even then there were some large laughs from all of us. I expected the realistic twist near the end of the film, but never thought who would actually be shown! That was awesome! I'm going to see it again soon, since I got a free ticket from buy Lego Movie sets from Toys R Us, and I'll have to make sure I really look around the background images--there's so much going on I feel like I missed more than half the cameos!

So disappointed I cannot find this shirt anywhere! Now I have nothing to wear for the midnight showing. Guess I'll have to go without a shirt then...

Yay! This is going well! -
Thanks for the comments everyone! No I don't usually keep them in tact after they've been photographed. This is due to my limited total number of bricks, but I'm working towards getting more so I can keep creations built; since I'd love to attention Brickworld this year, but it depends on how much I can build.

Thank you! It does have a cluttered chaotic feeling to it, which I think is due mostly to the fire. This is actually my first real Firefly build in a year or two (I've got an old one somewhere on my Flickr), and the first time I've used so much fire. I'm very happy with my Purist Firefly too--there's been a lot of them on Flickr lately, but I think mine stands out because of his cool flamethrower! On the build time question, this particular creation is way out of the norm--as I started it last weekend and finished it this morning (Due entirely to laziness). That's actually very extreme for me, since I normally finish all of my creations in a few hours and generally no more than a day. Only my largest builds, like some of the ones I've recently made, have taken longer. This morning from 7:30 to now (11:00), I finished it; having to build the exploding police car, the angel, and position Firefly along with the other figures, and also take pictures. So in short, I build really fast!

CMF Mafia - Day 3 - The Mermaid's Song
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I'll vote Sally. That's some sketchy PMs you were sending out, and you also seem to be giving up now. Any town PR would fight more for their own survival. Heck Derek fought more than this. Vote: Sally Carrotine (Scubacarrot) -
On the plus side we get a Martian Manhunter...on the down side we don't get any sort of set for him. Now I cannot even imagine us getting a Watchtower for years; and MM would have been the perfect exclusive for it too. I don't like to be negative about the things we get, since I am happy/grateful we have a superhero line in the first place, considering Batman 1's life was far too short, but come on...also New 52 again--apparently DC doesn't throw that in enough people's faces as it is. I hate all things New 52.

CMF Mafia - Day 3 - The Mermaid's Song
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I'll admit I've been a bit middle road. Although personally I think I've been more middle road while you've been way off in the ditch. On the Derek subject, I did in fact send him my alter ego--although late of course, since as I explained in my PM to him, I didn't realize that we were actually doing that then, rather I thought it was just talk within the town (Which didn't help when Kelly asked for the names, and everything went all over the place after that). To which Derek replyed a simple, It was late yes, but I did in fact send in my alter-ego to Derek. On the investigation part with Kelly, I started to trust Derek since it was Kelly who claimed first, and Derek who confirmed. Apparently Helen also knew something about this through word of mouth too. Regardless, to me it's clear Derek was the investigator since his death showing both town and Fortune Teller prove two of this three claims (Town/Teller/Investigator)--ergo, from these two facts, I feel Derek was truthful about everything, including investigator, so Kelly must have been investigated town. [skipping over a chunk of your quote which I just disproved] As to Lacey? I don't know. Maybe she's jealous of my hair and good looks? I don't know why she's 'prodding' me, I cannot control other people's actions. -
CMF Mafia - Day 3 - The Mermaid's Song
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm posting. I am a bit surprised about Derek, since I would have think he would have been protected. At least we got one council, even though we lost Derek and Bleeb; who was an iffy lynch but had a good possibility of being scum. And on the plus side at least we know we still have our vig, and for their first kill they get a council. I don't think think this is likely--because I don't know why the scum would make two claims like that to Derek and then kill him off before he sets their plan in motion. It would work if Derek told everyone right away (As opposed to just saying two people claimed the same thing), and we tested it by a lynch; but if Derek never says anything in public, they risk him working with the vig to take them out. I just don't see this as a possibility when they'd kill the person whose supposed to tell everyone. All it does is potentally risk their scum status by Derek telling others in private. Thinking about this now, we did have a few people, if I remember correctly, who had not yet (Or perhaps did not at all), send in their alter-egos to Derek. There were also those two people who claimed old dead monsters as their alter-egos. Maybe Derek was killed for being the investigator, but also for now knowing too much about the egos. Perhaps the scum could not risk giving him the time to dig deeper into these findings? -
Spectacular creation! So many details, and the scale is massive! Great job!

CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
Captain Nemo replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Curse?! I think I remember one of these, and I think you do personally remember something like this happening in a past life if I remember correctly. Could you elaborate any more on what Helen said about this curse? I think it's a possiblity--either way, being a lie or an actual curse--things like this could happen with so many monsters about. -- Switching subjects, I'm late to the party on this (But it was a snow day and omelette day all in one, so I was busy), I would be willing to give my alter-ego to Derek--now seeing that it's both what the majority of the town was agreeing on, and the more important fact that we now have some confirmation on him actual being an investigator. His claim has some more substance, so I believe Derek now. -- Switching again to the vote. I'm not sure how this whole Bleeb thing bandwagoned up so fast, but there are a few reasons I'm iffy on him. First, in regards to the hammer vote, basically I'm calling BS as to that being an actual reason to vote against him--there were 10 people who voted for Kinsley; all of them clearly wanted him lynched because they voted for Kingsley, so blaming him personally for the death of Kingsley is kind of ridiculous (Ergo, it's a case of people upset that they voted out a townie and are picking one of their own to blame for it)--basically, it could have been anyone who was the hammer, and it all just depended on who was around when--I don't think that's a good reason to vote for him. I do however think it is acceptable to vote for him for his reasons of shifting blame after the fact. I myself found this strange, like to cover his bum or something, but to be honest I'm not really sure what I think of Bleeb. He doesn't say much, and to be honest until now, he hasn't really pinged my radar. I think I'll place my vote on him for now, but it might change. I want to know more of this potential curse thing too. Vote: Bleeb (Bob)
