I think it's far more likely that Lego just wanted to make more of the same thing, again. I don't think we can base their DC business plan on a line from a direct to video animated movie. --- On the subject of a USC Tumbler---I just don't get it, at all. I don't see the appeal to an expensive, hugely oversized (it is USC after all), black truck that fills up DC's set space. Again this seems like another replacement set, from the old USC Batmobile. I also don't see any reason why minifigures would be included at all. I think it's safe to assume we will never get a DK Joker! He's too violent; plus he was already left out of his movie tie in set, and his appearance is now a few years old. It's a bit disappointing, but personally I'd be more disappointed if a USC Tumbler means we have to wait even longer for important JL characters like Green Lantern.

Thanks for the review! I managed to pick this set up today from Toys R Us (without their markup since it was on the shelves earlier than it should have been)--they surprisingly also had the new Lego Movie sets too but that's beside the point. Anyways, I love this set now that it's in my hand. The jet is very swooshable although surprisingly heavy when completed. After having it in hand, I think it's possible to mod it to fit five seats instead of four, but it may be possible to fit a sixth. The figures are all great, although Cyclops is the most boring in my opinion--the dark blue with little detail makes him very dark and he blends in too much with the ship. I have to say, the Sentinel is perhaps the best part--which is somewhat ironic for me since it was the think I hated the most from the early pictures of the set. He is smaller in person I have to say however he also seems more full and not nearly as thin as most pictures make him out to be. I now hope to pick up a few Sentinels online to make a small army of them.

I wonder why Scarecrow sounds weird; not like his last appearances at all. I do wish he was the main villain though--not some Arkham Knight character--who if I'm a betting man will probably end up being Joker anyways.

Thanks for the video-review just2good! I have to say I'm really excited to get this set. I love the X-men characters, and I think the jet looks spectacular. Although, I do think I'd mod a few things; such as beefing up the Sentinel so he's not so thin; and I'd actually want to fit some more seats in the jet, I'm sure it could seat six! You are a bit right on this; however I have to say I'm far happier paying 50 for this set then the Joker's Steamroller set--and I'm first and foremost a Batman fan!

I'll be attending Brickworld for my first time this year; and I too was interested to see if Eurobricks would have a presence. So far I've only seen the Pirates layout-shoutout though.

Actually, I'm just going to solve this by reiterating what was already stated a while ago--according to the Lego Batman Visual Dictionary, all of the "old" Robins are Tim Drake. Here are some quotes from the book to support this: "Several teenagers have worn Robin's cape over the years, but all of the Lego versions have represented Tim Drake, the third Robin." (Pg 30) In regards to "Jason Todd" being the different hair style Robin; "2008 Hairstyle: The only difference between the 2006 and 2008 variants of the Robin minifigure is the new Lego hair piece!" (Pg 30) So obviously--no Jason Todd. And so far we also only have Tim Drake. The book does clarify that, obviously, the 2006 Blue Nightwing is Dick Grayson. In addition, the book also brings up the newer versions of Robin. In regards to the new red suit 2012 Robin; "Robin Returns: Time Drake adopted this red-and-black costume in honor of Superboy. His double-sided 2012 head features a smirk and a look of alarm." (Pg 46) --- So clearly, we only thus far have Tim Drake as Robin; with three confirmed variants. In addition, 2012 Robin also gets the hooded variant in the new Arkham set; which from the slight changes makes it clear that it too, is Tim Drake. The new red Nightwing is also clearly supposed to be Dick Grayson. We also have the Damian Robin minifigure--who by all obvious indications is Damian. The only Robin variant not accounted for yet is the new Juniors one. That version has not been labled specifically as one person or another, although from the general feel of the set it seems like Grayson--however I myself have to admit it seems far more likely that it is Tim Drake anyways. Long story short--Tim Drake is for sure Lego's Robin. Out of the 6 minifigures who wear Robin costumes, Drake can be confirmed as four of them, with the potental for the fifth. There has been two Grayson Nightwings; one Damian Robin, and no Jason Todd minifigures.

Favorite childhood theme?
Captain Nemo replied to InvincibleEagle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Being from the 90's (I'm so young compared to the other comments thus far!), mine was "classic" Star Wars--the old ones back when the minifigures were yellow. Great sets. I'm no longer in to Star Wars sets, or really Star Wars as a whole (It's cool but now it seems "meh" to me). Even so, I loved those really old Star Wars sets; now they seem so simple, but I think that's what I liked about them, and why I still like them. -
I'd say he's solid C list by now. His appearances on Batman the Animated Series must have helped his image (Since he was spectacular on that show by the way), and he has had some recent limited face time in the Arkham games. Another interesting point is that I think he'd be far more familiar to kids than many of the Beware the Batman characters (If they appeared in sets)--I'm sure far more kids know who Scarface is compared to Mr. Toad. But, that's besides the point (Oh Nemo...anything to bring up B:TAS... ) I think there is something to be said about showing him in the comic however; afterall it would seem far more likely we'd see other villains already released to fill the character's role instead--unfortunatlely, it may be that we might just need to wait until the next issue is released, so we can then clearly see the character and his importance in the story for a specific reason. Hopefully, he does--since I'd always love to get new characters as opposed to more wardrobe changes for Riddler and Joker.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Captain Nemo replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I'm not a fan of these whatsoever; both because I don't support counterfeit products, and because a few of my Flickr friends have had their designs stolen and used on DeCool "figures". -
Entierly just speculation at this point. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt at this point--although I think it is save to assume GL is on his way...still...he's coming...at somepoint...in the future...we like to believe...

Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Captain Nemo replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think this would be fun to join. I don't frequent pirate builds often at all, but after that team contest (And with my ever growing collection) I feel it might be fun to try out. I did participate in GoH a bit, although I keep falling out of it; I think the large (seemingly) complicated storyline didn't help; so perhaps joining this from the start would help that problem. Granted now the biggest problem is choosing which faction to join! -
Thanks for the link. Although I guess we now that even the superhero minifigures are noticing the lack of Green Lantern! As for the mystery "bald guy", it is 100% Ventriloguist/Scarface. Although I don't know if that means they'll show up in a set (I would love to have them though). It would be a bit weird to seen them, since the two don't even show up in the consule versions of the video games (Which some of the more violent characters seem to only appear in). Although I think there is something to be said about all the other characters in the comic being actual minifigures themselves--we've already seen that Green Lantern flashlight, so maybe Scarface is down the line too (Hopefully with a Sinestro as well!).

Brickworld Chicago 2014 - Pirate Collaboration
Captain Nemo replied to ellerb's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ooo! Seems fun! It's my first time attenting Brickworld this year, and this seems like it would be a fun way to contribute--even if I'd likely only be able to muster a small ship or something. I remember seeing pictures of the underwater scene from last year I think; would it be of a similar height? (Ergo, what would the height limit be for something "underwater"?) -
I actually feel like that would make it less likely for us to get anymore Beware the Batman sets now (Granted the one we got was very loosely based on it anyways). I don't see any reason why the show would become more popular with kids now that it's going to be airing at 3 in the morning. Frankly, I'm glad we don't seem to be getting sets based off it--anything that forces DC/Lego to use up all of their Batman set ideas and give us some Justice League ones would be great. On a related note, I'm not sure where you're getting those A lists from--last I checked Ra's was the only famous and popular villain that was supposed to appear on the show (Which let's be honest here, is most likely a large reason why it failed--bad knock-off villains. Anarky does not equal Joker; Magpye is not Catwoman; Humpty Dumpty is the poor man's Riddler. I don't see any reason why those villains would sell sets either).

You'll be waiting forever. Game of Thrones is from HBO, so it will never be on anything other than HBO or DVDs etc. If it means anything, it is very much worth the buy! Anyways, I saw these on Flickr a few days ago. I think they're very nice, but I do agree some of them are too non-Lego like; personally I don't ever want to buy custom figures that look like something Lego would not produce (I've bought various custom figs, and always ones that look Lego-ish). I agree it's also too expensive, but...that George RR Martin fig is spectacular!
-
Oooo! This is very nice! I too wish Lego would have made at least one T:TDW set (If nothing so I could just get some dark elves!), and this really looks like something Lego would make--granted its missing 1 or 12 flick missiles! Great job!

Arkham Knight Batmobile Batman’s new epic ride from the upcoming game Batman: Arkham Knight This vehicle was built as a contest entry for Fig-Nation’s Arkham Knight Batmobile ‘Contest’over on Flickr. Anyone interested should get building, since the submission date is April 15th, and you could win a cool (pun-intended) Arkham City styled custom printed Mr. Freeze Minifigure. Anyways, this was a rather fun build for me since I normally don’t build vehicles—especially Batmobiles. Personally I feel the community is flooded with those, along with Batcaves and Halls of Armor, so I try to avoid building those things. Nonetheless, I’m very happy with the outcome—this thing just looks mean! Enjoy ~Nemo

Thanks for the comments everyone! Oh yes there is a noticeable difference. Juniors Batman is regular blue, and this very bright; while the old "blue" Batman used dark blue rather than regular. It's very noticeable and gives the two similar types a completely different feel.

Spectacular creation! There's lots of great details going on here, especially the vines which I think just make this creation! Great job!

The Dynamic Duo vs. Two-Face Our heroic Dynamic Duo, Batman & Robin, may have foiled Two-Face’s bank robbery, but that villain still has one or two guns up his sleeves! While not originally intended as such, this creation ended up being almost an extreme version of the Two-Face chase set. I was going for a more classic look overall, and the new brightly colored Batman and Robin from the Juniors line helped greatly in that regards. The Bat-Boot will stop any getaway! Gotham Bank: ---- Batmobile: I thought it would be cool to include a small Batmobile for this creation, and so here is the bi-product of that idea. It’s basically a highly modified version of the Junior’s line Batmobile. While it looks great, unfortunately it cannot fit Batman. Two-Face’s tow truck was a hard one for me to make. Being at a University, I don’t have all of my pieces with me, which meant I unfortunately left behind almost all of my orange pieces! I was able to construct this however, and I think Two-Face would approve (Assuming it lands heads!) Enjoy! ~Nemo

What is your favourite and least favourite Super Heroes Minifigure?
Captain Nemo replied to Godtshep's topic in LEGO Licensed
I cannot say how far by margins, but Wonder Woman may be my favorite Superhero minifigure. Along with a new perfect mold, her printing shows what the Superhero line really could be if Lego actually put in the printing effort they do for other lines. Actually thinking now, I rather like all three figures from Lex's Mech set--being my favorite Superhero set overall, it also has some of the best figures too. Granted I'm sure I'm somewhat biased--any DC figure that looks close to their Justice League Animated apperance gets my approval! Worst? There's a lot to choose from. For me it's Spiderman. It was a terrible design to begin with, making him look like a kid in pajamas, and he's way too overused. Variations are needed ASAP for that character. -
I would think its safe to say that Coulson will never show up in another MCU movie after his death in Avengers. Yeah he's back on Agents of Sheild, but there in lies the problem--he's back. There's no way to re-introduce him to a movie without a lengthy portion spent on him (Ergo; why is he back? How is he alive? Etc) and without compromising the previous films, mainly the Avengers. Coulson's death was what finally brought the Avengers together--bringing him back would conflict this (and in the process make the movie a Coulson story). There's also the audience perspective. In no way are the viewer numbers the same for Agents of Sheild and the Avengers movie. I would say the vast majority of viewers would say "Wha...?" If they see Coulson stepping out of his casket.

Thanks for the photo Sir Brickalot! I think he looks ok. At least more classic looking then the way he actually comes. Boot printing there would really help out. Oh well.

Looks nice. Some of the character updates seem strange since they make the characters like Penguin and Two-Face seem younger. Although it's great to see Scarecrow return again--which is the most logical way to go after City. I am however very disappointed that it appears like there will be no PS3 or 360 version; which means I won't be able to play it.

Nice review! Even though I want him, I am torn with this Martian Manhunter figure; he seems a bit of a double-edged sword to me. I love that we get another Justice Leaguer, especially MM, but I don't like that he's in a poly rather than a full on Watchtower set--which frankly is the only set MM would likely show up in. It's good that he gets leg printing; but on the down side he stands out as one of the few superhero figs with leg printing. Again, I will say that I hate the New 52 style (if nothing because of how much DC is shoving it down our throats to begin with). I guess I just wish the theme would be based off of the animated Justice League show; as Batman 1 was heavily based on the Batman Animated Series. --- I must ask though Sir Brickalot, would you perhaps be able to take a picture of MM with blue hips and green legs? I'm interested in seeing how the 52 torso would look with a more JL Animated styled legs (granted lacking boot printing--get on that Lego!)
