  1. It's even better than I was expecting!!! This will be a Day 1 purchase for me, assuming there is free shipping involved.
  2. I don't understand all the venom regarding the Ent...it looks fantastic to me, especially since it's not supposed to be Treebeard (hint at a possible Treebeard set in the future??). Ents come in all shapes and sizes in the films.
  3. Oh......my.......GOSH!!!!! This is hands-down a must-buy set for me! It's still sinking in, but I absolutely love the fact that the entire tower has a detailed interior. Not to mention the fantastic minifigs (Wormtongue!!!), an Ent, and another Eagle. Well done, Lego. Well done.
  4. Also worth noting is the fact that the Arkham Asylum Breakout set was announced in October of last year and released in December. My guess is that the LotR Orthanc set will be announced over the summer for an autumn release, and the Ewok Village will follow a similar timetable as Arkham. Just speculation, of course.
  5. FYI: the "leaked" Reclamation show outline was debunked by Lucasfilm last week - http://theforce.net/latestnews/story/LFL_Star_Wars_Reclamation_TV_Show_Isnt_Real_151134.asp
  6. ^ Those are my feelings exactly. It's not that all Mordor orcs should have the same armor, but having a little variety to shake things up and improve film accuracy would not go amiss. Perhaps if there are any Osgiliath and/or Battle of Pelennor Fields sets on the way, it would be the perfect time to throw in some existing armor elements or (hopefully!) even some new torso and head prints.
  7. Thanks for sharing, Delta - that middle helmet looks fantastic; I would have preferred Lego included that helmet in the Black Gate set rather than the Uruk-hai one.
  8. I just ordered some in various colors from Bricklink, in order to outfit my Mordor orc army. I figured it was probably worth it, just in case the LOTR line turns out to be shorter than anticipated and Lego doesn't get around to releasing armored Mordor orcs.
  9. Technically you're correct. An Ewok Village set would be termed a Lego S@H Exclusive, not a UCS set.
  10. ^ That helmet probably would look pretty good on a Mordor orc. Bricklink lists a "speckled silver and black" version as well. If anyone has the aforementioned helmet, would you mind snapping a photo of what it looks like on a Mordor orc?
  11. Looks absolutely fantastic. The battle scenes in this are going to be incredible.
  12. Yes, this I would have loved to see. I thought it was a HUGE missed opportunity on Lego's part not to include some kind of armor or helmet with the Moria orcs.
  13. I'm guessing that they'll include a few of the new Scout Troopers in the rumored Ewok Village, too.
  14. Ah, I understand now. Your wording was a bit confusing.
  15. "Obsolete" is all in how you look at it. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to have a mix of old and new minifigures. I'm not a big fan of the new Scout Trooper, though. Without arm printing it has way too much black.
  16. Except for the fact that more sets with Boromir minifigures would drive the price down....
  17. Nice work!! I love the more "complete" feeling that it gives to the scene.
  18. ^ I keep hearing about this, but do you have any article or confirmation that that will happen?
  19. Could you post a picture of the aforementioned pose? I've had minifigures hold weapons with two hands before and haven't had any problems.
  20. From what I understand, it isn't too difficult for Lego to do a new print. A new mold, on the other hand, is a rather hefty investment. If we did ever get Frodo and Sam in Orc armor, Lego could easily re-use the helmets and - heaven forbid - actually improve the current orc minifigs.
  21. Thanks for sharing! It looks like there are more of these than I thought. I'll definitely be getting that Han Solo magnet. I'm also chuckling a bit that that store is called "dickbrick".
  22. I would still love to see an armored Boromir: http://img-nex.theonering.net/images/scrapbook/orig/8370_orig.jpg Although I suppose he wouldn't be difficult to make if we ever get Gondorian soldiers...
  23. I would prefer it if Lego didn't feel the need to include all of the dwarves in every Hobbit wave. Perhaps they could include half of them in the DOS sets, and the other half in the TABA sets; something like that would work fine in my opinion, leaving room for other characters like Bard, the Master of Laketown, Thranduil, Radagast, etc.
  24. True, but Alcarin isn't in the U.S. So far I've purchased 7 Uruk-hai Army and 4 Orc Forge sets, mostly for army building purposes. I would have easily tripled those numbers if Lego released them as battle packs instead, but I'm sure most FOLs (kids especially) aren't too interested in army building. Thus, I can understand Lego's reasoning for releasing the sets the way they have. If you army build then you end up with a lot of extra pieces, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
  25. Oh man, I'm so excited to see this! I used to love reading the Redwall books!
