  1. True, but those are only a few of the considerations. Lego cycles through themes each year, and is always adding new licensed properties to it's lineup. It's a constant battle for shelf space, and it's a matter of cost-benefit analysis as to which licenses are best kept around, and which themes should be retired to free up room for new ones. We can only hope that Lego feels the same as we do in terms of doing one last LOTR wave, at the very least. (I would even argue that a D2C set like Minas Tirith would be the 'very least', and a full wave would be a step up from that - depending on how large such a D2C set would be, of course).
  2. New York Tot Fair is not open to the public. But yes, there should be plenty of photos by this time next week.
  3. If possible, think having separate Superheroes threads is a good idea as well. It would make for much smoother discussion.
  4. Perhaps this means that TC-4 will be a Toys R Us exclusive in the U.S. as well, and there will be another minifigure available for May 4th!
  5. ^ I'm pretty sure Marvel Studios now has sole film rights for the Hulk.
  6. According to Lego's VP of Design Matthew Ashton, we won't be getting sets like Moe's Tavern or the nuclear power plant. Sounds like it's being planned as a one-off type theme: http://collider.com/matthew-james-ashton-the-lego-movie-interview/
  7. Definitely agree with you there. From the looks of things, we won't even be getting sets based on The Winter Soldier, which is a cryin' shame...
  8. It's a fantastic article! I posted a link to it in the General Lego discussion forum as well. Definitely should be read by every AFOL.
  9. Very, very excited about this casting!! :-)
  10. U.S. based movie news site Collider.com has posted a fantastic, in-depth interview with Lego's VP of Design, Matthew Ashton. It's well worth reading for any fan of Lego! He reveals plenty of interesting information worthy of discussion. http://collider.com/matthew-james-ashton-the-lego-movie-interview/
  11. Man, Marvel's casting is out of this world. Evangeline hadn't even occurred to me as a good candidate to play Jan, but she'd be perfect. Make it happen, Marvel!
  12. 2013 was a pretty great year for movies! My top 10 (in no particular order, by the way): - Iron Man 3 - Thor: The Dark World - The Wolverine - Saving Mr. Banks - Frozen - Gravity - Pacific Rim - The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Monsters University - Star Trek Into Darkness
  13. Excellent episode! I was very surprised with the Skye twist at the end. I wish Mike aka Deathlok was a bit more mechanical as well, but maybe he'll have some more additions as the series goes on. Can't wait for the rest of the season!
  14. Just watched it as well --- AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. It won't stay at 100%, but all of these very strong early positive reviews is certainly extremely encouraging. I'd wager that it ends up somewhere in the 95% range. Can't wait until Friday!!!
  16. ^ We don't know what the CMF selection will be yet.
  17. I'm glad that's all included, but yeah......the missing minifigures. I still can't get over no Ponda Baba, Wuher, and Dr. Evazan.
  18. The film is currently at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes!!
  19. I loved Iron Man 3, personally. I'll never quite understand all the hate for that movie (most of which is derived from the Mandarin twist. It was a ballsy move, but it really worked for me. As a True Believer, though, I can understand why some would hate it). The Winter Soldier, however, has always been my most anticipated film of Phase 2. The new trailer does not disappoint!!!
  20. True, but that's not to say Wakanda itself won't be shown. Here's hoping!
  21. I assume you're referring to Saleucami, which is pronounced Suh-loo-cuh-my.
  22. ^ THIS. A proper Dagobah set is long overdue, and something like that would be perfect.
  23. I absolutely LOVE the new stormtrooper design. Very McQuarrie-esque in its shape and appearance. Can't wait to hear more details about these characters!! (and I love the fact that their first reveal is via Lego)
  24. ^ The Oz sets were based on the classic film, so Disney would not have been involved.
  25. "Classic" Homer looks awesome!!!
