  1. I wish disassembling my sets was that easy...
  2. At first I hoped that the power boat will be similar to this old (but excellent) MOC by @Thelonious monk: Then, I saw the price point and realized that it will probably be the size of 42084 Hook Loader or 42071 Dozer Compactor .
  3. Impressive work, @Gingerdave! Does it work with Power Puller Wheels?
  4. Maybe it's just me, but a lot of these just look like sets from previous years, only in different scales. Power boat is like a bigger 42045 Hydroplane Racer Police pursuit is like 42047 Police Interceptor Rescue Helicopter is small 9396 Super car is small 42077 or 42039 Tracked loader is 42032 Compact Tracked Loader, only less compact Stunt racer is wheeled 42065 GT Race car is like 42077 Rally Car While a bit redundant, I am very excited to see this year's lineup. Can't wait for the GT Racer especially!
  5. @JonathanM, yes, even when the large ones are extended all the way, the mini LAs are struggling @conceitedguy, both wheels were pushed in, but upon tearing the front end apart, I found that the rear steering rack was not assembled properly. Thank you!
  6. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to put in videos from flickr, they wouldn't play- so here is the link to the flickr page instead: https://www.flickr.com/photos/141573051@N03/with/42907982705/ Does anyone else have these issues?
  7. Hi, guys. After getting this model and building it over the last couple evenings, I noticed that there were a couple problems. - The steering system, while working just fine after connecting it and all that jazz, was experiencing issues with the finished model. When I try to steer left, some part of the linkage is getting caught on something, preventing me from turning it while it is driving on the ground (it is fine in the air) - The crane arms on my trailer are having issues with the container. The lower, large actuators work just fine, but the upper ones can hardly lift the (empty!) container, and there is a lot of grinding noise when I operate the gears. I built the gears as usual, trying to create the least amount of friction possible, yet they still grind and move very reluctantly. If anybody has any solutions, they would be welcome! EDIT: I also noticed another thing: both problems occured after installing part 4558692 gear bracket Does something about this part with the two 12T bevel gears cause a lot of friction? Regards, Magical Duck
  8. @Jim, can you pin all the reviews so we don't have to scroll through pages 1 and 2 to find them? Thanks!
  9. Excellent reviews as always, @Sariel! Even though the 42080 appears to not have a working saw blade in your review, Austrian Lego Fan managed to cut the log with his blade like this:
  10. Is it just me, or have parts list become denser in the past few years. For example, the MB Arocs had 2793 parts, and 3 pages for the list. But the Rough Terrain Crane has 4057 and only 2 pages. Is this just to save paper?
  11. Austrian Lego Fan just posted this on Youtube: Looks like a fun building process.
  12. Yeah, I have 42071 and the wheels just look rickety without doubles.
  13. But if you look at the schematic drawing, the front wheels stick out about a stud more than the rear ones:
  14. The lifting height, looking at it now is not too unrealistic:
  15. On the other hand, 42053 had brand new manual pump (requiring a brand new mold), 4 pneumatic cylinders, and was power functions upgradable
  16. Thank you all so much! I'm glad you enjoyed my MOC!
  17. Yeah- if I had the 42030 I might try building it from that and the CLAAS, but I feel the pricepoint is too high to justify getting this set. And it looked so cool, too
  18. I agree, @Bartybum, without Power Functions (or Power Functions upgrade), 12.7¢ a piece does seem a bit expensive (in USD). If we say that average cents per piece is 10¢, then the loader (without license) would cost USD $116.70 Is the license worth about $32?
