  1. I didn't enter the contest myself, but isn't that just overlap which is allowed, as is clearly stated by rule nr. 1 under contest rules? :-P
  2. When I look at all these other minifigs, I get depressed cause of my lack of imagination. :'-( :-( The other minifigs are so much more "personalised" Instead, I must obtain a shark as sig-fig. Ooh :-| I must persevere. ... EDIT: but seriously though, I'm wondering if I ought to chage him all together. What bothers me most is his torso, if only I had an alternative.
  3. Buscemi - Seaside
  4. Yeah I guess so, a tornado can rip off the roof, but won't have such an easy time bringing down the wall though. In any case, perhaps that's why houses here are so darn expensive, but that's everywhere across the globe these days. as for the topic, yeah I guess it can be closed. Did he clean his room or what?
  5. I was actually planning to go to the store today and buy something, when, just as I left the house, realised the nearest toy store is around 10 km away. And since I needed to be somewhere afterwards and was intending to go on foot and quickly jump in (cause I was in a rush), I found myself confronted with quite the impossible task. Running 10 km to, buying and running that same distance back, in just 20 minutes. :-D :-P No human would ever make it. So basically, I have no LEGO atm.
  6. I would have voted for Eccohawk, but since it was a display stand I guessed it was built before the start of the contest which is why I ruled it out. It kinda dwarfed the other ones too. :-P Sorry Eccohawk. I ultimately went for UB's entry. What can I say, that entry was just too funny, especially in the movie! :-D
  7. Aha, though I do admit we don't have a garden all around the house, we do have the biggest garden in the street. And my neighbourhood is, well not nearly Beverly Hills or anything, but it's the kind of hood :-P inhabitated by lawyers, doctors and the like (both my parents are shrinks, though they don't ask such outrageous amounts of money as US shrinks do ;-) ) But in any case, the more garden, the more I get to destroy with super fast rotating blades of death. I do always make sure the pets are in the house and that I don't accidently run over my own cable. ;-) :-D PS: most European lots are mdest sized ;-) and why do you American people build wooden houses, that's crazy, building wooden houses in tornado prone areas. No wonder natural disasters claim such devastation.
  8. LOL, when I was working on a model ship of mine (BB-63 USS Missouri) I accidently hit a little jar of red paint, flew all over two or three airport road plates. And since it was plastic paint, I still haven't managed to get oeven the slightest bit off. Hot water, scratching, soap ... nothing works >:-(
  9. No Belgian ON ..., Oh wait, it's the same language, :-D that's right, almost forgot that one. Nederlands AAN *y*
  10. Thta's a wicked outpost you made there *wub* *wub* *wub* Sets like these make me wish I had collected those samurais back then. :-( I especially love the amount of detail you put in, there's a bridge, two out-of-towners, a guy with a pig, the tower is just great. I admire your building skill, I practically no experience at building something like that, the way those windows are built looks wicked and those pesky goblins are quite entertaining :-P A great MOC, dude *y* *y*
  11. Ok, I had to think long and hard about this and ow that I see what a non-original, inspiration-less fig I have, I feel like crying. Basically I took one of the pirate captains and modified him by adding a different head and a rag to cover his a bit. However, to make up for my lack of imagination I have a great story to go with it! Well ... sort of, I guess 8-| (you can see he has bite marks on his leg :-D :-$ ) May I introduce Cap'n O' Hairy, the most wicked, psychopathic bounty hunter on EB. That's right, bounty hunter. He used to be a pirate captain who plundered many ships of the redcoats and bluecoats alike. It didn't matter to him, as long as there was plenty of booty. However, he was quite selfish (might've been because he was spoiled as a child yet at the same time given no attention, which inadvertently also led to confidence and relation issues. He has never been able to commit himself to anybody.) which ultimately led to his downfall. Whenever it was time to share the loot he had the bad habit of running off with 90% of whatever they had taken with them. Obviously the crew eventually became too pissed and threw him overboard near Shark Island. Shark Island was (lucky for him) inhabited and even had quite a big port, though the waters around were infested with an all too (yes you guessed it correctly) healthy population of sharks. Mainly Tiger and bull sharks, to be exact. They found him and stole from him a leg and hand. A gesture he was not all that pleased with. Ever since, he has had a love-hate relationship with sharks. Believing them to be the representation of the god of the underworld as well as a tool of retribution by God to keep the earthlings in line. (Needless to say, he was not a devout catholic) Many a times people claim to have seen him at night, in a bay, standing in the water, talking to the sharks while cursing them just moments later. (The sharks are seen swimming up to him but strangely seem to act friendly and do not attempt to bite at all.) Since then he has vowed to seek out and kill his entire former crew, planning to, once he has captured them, set sail to the same bay and feed them to the very same sharks. (He seems to have developed an obsession with Sarah, a name he gives to a 6.5 metre long female tiger shark.) A fitting retaliation in his mind. The redcoats, who had noticed he was quite a good pirate, excellent with the knife, literate (even rarer amongst his species) and knew how to maneuver a ship, subsequently hired him to hunt for other pirates, scoundrels, theefs and other enemies of the redcoats. Cap'n O' Hairy knows all too well what will happen to him once he gets rid of his employer's enemies and therefore does not plan on being in the redcoats' service forever. It is rumoured he has cannibalistic tendencies, which makes him all the more feared with pirates. I am very interested in sharks (though by contrast I am still the rightful owner of all my limbs, thank you very much :-P) and on many an occassion people tell me I talk to myself. (which I find completely normal, but apparently freaks them out) Since I like the pirate theme the most, I was guessing I could incorporate this in some kind of whacko, psychopathic pirate who has confidence issues yet is deep inside a misunderstood crazy genius. So there you go, part based on myself, part psycho and part my imagination. :-D EDIT: I just altered the story a bit so he'd be even whackier :-P
  12. LOL, I can imagine him brewing some kind of special AFOL brick beer, one of the rarest beers in the world. Certainly was the most original idea I've so far seen. :-D but once again I'm going off topic, a bad habit, I must stop! :S
  13. Yeah, I know, I was kinda trying to figure out a solution for that as well. As you may have noticed there's no cable or whatsoever connecting the ROV to the sub, a 4x4 size really was the ideal size to make one and come as close to actual size but now there's so much cramped on a small 4x4 basis I really couldn't figure out how to put anything more on it. :-P
  14. Ok, for those people who do not know what an ROV is, it's the common name for a Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle. They're used for many things, though mainly for maritime archeology, maritime research and to assist in the maintenance of off-shore oil rigs. Wikipedia - ROV Since I have a few diver (divers, not aquaraiders!) sets (including that wonderful yellow submersible :-) ) I thought it might make a neat little accessory if I built one. I threw some parts together and what came out I think, looks better than I expected. In any case, here it is, Comments and crticism are welcome! ;-) and here's one more (I know the pics are a bit dark, my apologies for that :-$ still learning)
  15. LOL, I live in Belgium, whenever it's destroying time I'll gladly do the job for free, the destroying part is reward enough for me. :-D
  16. I love the way Cap'n SlyOwl used those white flags and white minifig hands to represent torn sails and torn cloth. It's so simple yet looks so great! *y* :-)
  17. Wait money for mowing the lawn, I *wub* mowing the lawn alltogether. Regardless of whether I get money for it. You get to use something with sharp, swinging bladesand go all crazy on branchesn grass, logs, well perhaps not logs, but you get the picture :-P I just love the fact I get to destroy stuff, I don't need money for that :-D
  18. It's sinking! The Flying Dutchman has struck once again! :-)
  19. I take you talk out of experience, perhaps? :-D Looks like I'm not the only one to take a bath along with his minifigs :-$
  20. I like to play with LEGO in the bathtub, yeah I know, well I used too, I haven't done so in at least five years now, but when I get the chance, I'll probably do it again for old time's sake. :-D Too bad the pirate ships always capsized, you could never get them stable enough. :-P
  21. A toothbrush, some soap and hot water'll do wonders *sweet* I didn't expect it to, but several things like my flags (which were old and dirty from nearly ten years or so of neglect) are now back in well, not MINT condition, but as close as I can get to it. :-P
  22. I hate cleaning too, but you're not gonna tell me you can't make that sacrifice for such a cool set? You might hate it, but it's just cleaning, it won't kill you or anything ;-) How bad can it be? Well that depends on how messy you are 8-|
  23. :'-) We have found our lost sheep :'-) The bible IS true after all. Somebody who was lost, has now seen the light once more! Welcome back, redemption is possible :'-) You'll lap up on this place :-P
  24. Dr. Strangelove or How I stopped Worrying and learned to Love the Bomb I had seen it once already but the movie's just too good. He sure would've done a lot for his precious bodily fluids, wouldn't he? :-D
